유아교사의 다문화 감수성, 다문화교육 이해 및 태도의 관계: 다문화 교수효능감의 매개효과

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 유아교사의 다문화 감수성, 다문화교육 이해, 다문화 교수효능감 및 다문화교육 태도간의 구조적 관계를 밝히는 통합적 분석을 시도함으로써 유아교사의 다문화적 역량에 대한 보다 종합적인 이해를 도움과 동시에 다문화 교사교육 관련 교육과정 및 연구에 시사점을 주고자 한다. 이러한 연구목적을 위하여 설정한 연구문제는 다음과 같다.

첫째, 유아교사의 다문화 감수성, 다문화교육 이해와 다문화교육 태도의 사이에서 일반생활 교수효능감의 매개효과는 유의한가?
둘째, 유아교사의 다문화 감수성, 다문화교육 이해와 다문화교육 태도의 사이에서 수업기능 교수효능감의 매개효과는 유의한가?
셋째, 유아교사의 다문화 감수성, 다문화교육 이해와 다문화교육 태도의 사이에서 인간관계 교수효능감의 매개효과는 유의한가?

자료수집을 위하여 G시와 J도에 소재한 유치원 및 보육시설 교사를 대상으로 다문화 감수성 척도, 다문화교육에 대한 오개념 검사지, 다문화 교수효능감 척도, 다문화교육 태도 척도 각 400부를 직접 또는 이메일을 통하여 배부하였으며 최종 94.25%인 377부의 검사지가 회수되었다. 이와 같이 수집된 검사지의 응답 충실도를 살펴본 결과 별다른 문제가 없는 것으로 판단되어 377부 모두 본 연구의 분석에 사용하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 19.0 프로그램과 AMOS 19.0 프로그램을 이용하여 통계분석을 실시하였다.

분석결과, 유아교사의 다문화 감수성, 다문화교육 이해, 다문화 교수효능감(일반생활, 수업기능, 인간관계) 및 다문화교육 태도의 측정변인에 대한 경로계수는 .05수준에서 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 뿐만 아니라 각 변인들을 직접효과와 간접효과로 분해하여 다문화 감수성, 다문화교육 이해, 다문화 교수효능감(일반생활, 수업기능, 인간관계) 및 다문화교육 태도가 서로 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아 본 바, 다문화 감수성과 다문화교육 이해는 다문화 교수효능감에 직접효과를, 다문화교육 태도에는 직접 및 간접효과를 모두 보이고 있었으며 다문화 교수효능감은 다문화교육 태도에 직접효과를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 변인들 간의 보다 명확한 매개효과를 검증하기 위하여 Sobel test, Aroian test 및 Goodman test를 실시하였다. 그 결과, 연구모형으로 제시한 다문화 감수성, 다문화교육 이해와 다문화교육 태도의 관계에서 다문화 교수효능감(일반생활, 수업기능, 인간관계)의 매개효과가 통계적으로 유의미하게 나타났다.

결론적으로 본 연구에서 제안한 변인들 즉, 다문화 감수성, 다문화교육 이해, 다문화 교수효능감은 유아교사의 다문화교육 태도에 의미 있는 영향을 미치고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 특히, 전체 다문화 교수효능감과 그 하위요소는 다문화 감수성과 다문화교육 태도 간, 다문화교육 이해와 다문화교육 태도 사이에서 매개효과를 나타내고 있음이 증명되었다. 이러한 결과는 다문화 시대에 요구되는 유아교사의 다문화교육 태도에 대한 이론적, 실제적인 이해와 예비교사와 현직교사를 위한 교사교육과정에 구체적인 기초 자료를 제공할 수 있을 것이다.
