백석 시의 '무속성'과 식민지 무속론 : 백석 시의 '무속적 상상력' 재고

백석 시에서 주로 나타나는 '무속성'이나 '무속적 상상력'은 백석 시 연구에 있어서 중요한 테마이다. 백석 시의 무속적 사유에 관한 논의들은 그것이 '고향'과 같은 토속공간의 원형성에 맞춰져 있다. 백석 시의 '무속성'이 민족 공동체의 전형을 시화(詩化)했다는 것으로 강조되거나, 계몽주의적 근대의 유입속에서 무속이 타파 대상으로 간주되었다는 상황은 다소 일반적인 진술이라고 여겨진다. 이러한 논거는 그의 시세계가 위치한 사회 · 역사적 맥락에 무심 할뿐만 아니라 그 주제의 당대성을 고려하지 못한다는 한계를 안고 있다. 이 논문은 백석 시의 '무속성'이 백석에게서만 찾을 수 있는 독특한 미학이 아니라 동시대의 공유 가능한 주제였다는 점에 접근하고자 했다. 조선의 무속신앙이 고유 신앙으로서 주목받게 된 것은 일본 신도신앙의 침투라는 배경하에서였다. 일제의 조선통치를 역사적, 문화적으로 정당화시키는 담론적 상황 속에서 제국의 식민지 통합에 기여한 일본의 민속학과 달리 조선에서 '무속'을 포함한 '민속'의 발견은 '민속학적 사고'를 통한 조선의 지역적, 문화적 정체성을 재고하는 것이었다. 1930년대 식민지 무속론에 내재된 정치성과 민속학적 사고의 출현 속에서 백석의 '무속성'은 개인의 기억 속에 실재했던 '무속'을 발견하고 인식한다는 점에서 의미를 지닌다. 무속에 대한 관심은 조선의 지엽적 풍속, 변방의 문화를 강조함으로서 지역적 감각에 다름 아니었으며 1930년대 후반 신세대 문학의 한 경향이라 할 수 있다. 그의 시가 보여주는 것은 근대 세계의 비전이 실패한 '양식'의 재창조이다. 백석 시에서 이러한 양식은 무속과 관련된 마을의 의례들이다. 백석의 시는 근대의 규율에 포획되지 않는 공동체에 대한 향수를 통해 자신의 문화적 근거지를 구성한다. 백석 시에서 무속성은 식민지화와 근대화의 이름으로 소멸의 처지에 있는 가치들에 대한 관심이다. 그것의 상상적인 복원을 통해 과거로부터 이끌어낸 의미는 자기 동일성의 중요한 기준이 되며 지배적인 이데올로기에 대한 비판을 가능케 한다. 백석 시의 무속적 상상력은 1930년대 식민지 무속의 현실에 대한 한 대응의 성격을 지니고 있으며 자신이 속한 문화양식을 통해서 자기 정체성을 회복하려는 시도로 이해할 수 있다. The elements of shamanism, on Baek Seok's poetry aesthetically been recognized as an important topic. Shamanism of Baek Seok, the 1930s cultural phenomenon can be understood in the context. At that time, the Baek Seok unique rather than shamanism material was available for sharing. Shamanism in the modern world was the target of the marginalized and ignored, but in the late 1930s, the interesting of shamanism is associated with the colonial policy. Kim Dong-Lee, including the passage of time, a new generation of group in literary circles, 'Oriental', 'ancient' was reflected in the works for the interest. As a new generation of literary artists Baek Seok is also parallel to this trend. His poetry now at the point of his own past and to restore the culture of the past, by recall. Baek, Seok's poems like 「가즈랑집할머니」, 「오금덩이라는곧」 and 「마을은 맨천구신이 돼서」, also leave Shamanistic trace. His poems reveal the absence of form in everyday life. He was to reproduce the local community, unique culture and customs are preserved. an recreate the show. At his poem, the village including almost the villagers is ruled by Shamanism. Baek, Seok always missed his childhood memory and hometown. His poetry is being destroyed now, that history can be lost forever unless the crisis was reflected. His work appeared in a crisis that has characterized some kind of cultural nationalism. Baek Seok's shamanistic imagination in the late 1930s are response of colony cultural policy and restoration is the process of self-identity.

Background : In recent years, gonorrhea has been panedemic and remains one of the most commom STDs in the world, especially in developing countries. Objective & Methods: For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of PPNG, we have been trying to study the patients who have visited the VD Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by means of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. Results: In 1996, 139 strains of N. gonorrhoeae were isolated, among which 53(39.0%) were PPNG. Conclusion: Our results suggests that after a peak of 74.3% in 1993, the prevalence of PPNG in Seoul is gradually declining.

This paper is a study on the life and clinical reasoning of Kim Goo Young (1958-2014). Offering a new perspective through his interpretation of Donguibogam (東醫寶鑑), Kim introduced his unique theory of Korean medicine, ‘The Theory of Byeongin (病因論)’. Kim recognized the confusing situation of communication between people studying Korean medicine and tried to make a new standard based on the principle that many people can share. ‘The Theory of Byeongin offers a newly constituted 󰡔Donguibogam󰡕 focusing on ‘Byeongin’ (病因, pathologic origin) which can be translated as the cause of a disease. In so doing Kim recognized ‘Byeongin as the most important factor in ‘Byeonjeung’ (辨證, classifying the origin), or the classification method of symptoms. In addition, Kim recognized how ‘Byeongin was considered to be a diseased lifestyle, and tried interpreting. The patient’s lifestyle to treat diseases. As a result, ‘The Theory of Byeongin’ is a theory consisting of an intuitive structure, reducing notable elements like Yin Yang Five Movement theory. The theory s significant characteristic is its easy application in clinical settings due the established core principles which are based on Kim’s insight and clinical experience. This study contributes to the understanding of the theoretical and clinical development of Korean medicine through deeper studies on ‘The Theory of Byeongin and Kim s medical theory.

Background : In recent years, gonorrhea has been pandemic and remains one of the most common STDs in the world, especially in developing countries. Objective & Methods : For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of PPNG, we have been trying to study the patients who have visited the Venereal Disease Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by means of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. Results : In 1997. 99 strains of N. gonorrhoeae were isolated, among which 45(45.5%) were PPNG. Conclusion : The prevalence of PPNG in Seoul, which had been decreased to 39% in 1996 after a peak of 74.3% in 1993, is increased to 45.5% in 1997.

An introduction to the recently excavated Chunggang Medical Records and research on their medical value

This study is a report on recently discovered medical records based on traditional medicine in the 1900s. First, the contents of the records and their significance are described in detail. Next, a simple example of the research follows, in order to explain the medical and historical significance the records contain and to answer the question of how this historical document can contribute to future medical and historical studies. The documents dealt with in this study, the Chunggang Medical Records, are medical records compiled by a Korean doctor of oriental medicine by the name of Younghun Kim who practiced in the center of Seoul for a period of over 60 years. The records, which eventually amounted to over 1,500 books, were made known to the academic world when the descendents recently donated them to Kyunghee University. The reason these medical records attract so much attention from academic circles, even though they are the work of one individual, is that they contain abundant information on general public medical health at the time, in addition to the fact that Kim Younghun was a well known figure among Oriental Medicine doctors in Korea. The medical records start in 1915 and continue until Kim Younhun's death in 1974, though they have some damaged or missing parts. Kim's medical records are a gold mine not only for scholars studying the medical history of the early 1900s, but also for doctors trying to emulate the techniques embedded in a great predecessor's medical practice.

Malignant peritoneal mesothelioma is a rare neoplasm that arises from the mesothelium of a serosal cavity and is a rapidly fatal disease with a median survival of 4 to 12 months for untreated cases. Recently, we experienced a case with malignant peritoneal mesothelioma who was suspected hepatocelluar carcioma by abdominal CT scan and was confirmed by biopsy including immunohistochemical stain(calretinin) after surgery. We performed tumor excisions and wedge resection of the liver(segment Ⅷ)and inserted Tencoff catheter in abdominal cavity at 25th day of post-operation. We treated with intraperitoneal paclitaxel(25mg/m^(2)/day for 5 days) six courses monthly. She was well tolerable and is still living without any evidence of recurrence for 14th month of post-operation.

Discovery of urinary metabolomic biomarkers for early detection of acute kidney injury

<P>The discovery of new biomarkers for early detection of drug-induced acute kidney injury (AKI) is clinically important. In this study, sensitive metabolomic biomarkers identified in the urine of rats were used to detect cisplatin-induced AKI. Cisplatin (10 mg kg(-1), i.p.) was administered to Sprague-Dawley rats, which were subsequently euthanized after 1, 3 or 5 days. In cisplatin-treated rats, mild histopathological alterations were noted at day 1, and these changes were severe at days 3 and 5. Blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and serum creatinine (SCr) levels were significantly increased at days 3 and 5. The levels of new urinary protein-based biomarkers, including kidney injury molecule-1 (KIM-1), glutathione S-transferase-alpha (GST-alpha), tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1 (TIMP-1), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), calbindin, clusterin, neutrophil, neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL), and osteopontin, were significantly elevated at days 3 and 5. Among urinary metabolites, trigonelline and 3-indoxylsulfate (3-IS) levels were significantly decreased in urine collected from cisplatin-treated rats prior to histological kidney damage. However, carbon tetrachloride (CCl4), a hepatotoxicant, did not affect these urinary biomarkers. Trigonelline is closely associated with GSH depletion and results in insufficient antioxidant capacity against cisplatin-induced AKI. The predominant cisplatin-induced AKI marker appeared to be reduced in urinary 3-IS levels. Because 3-IS is predominantly excreted via active secretion in proximal tubules, a decrease is indicative of tubular damage. Further, urinary excretion of 3-IS levels was markedly reduced in patients with AKI compared to normal subjects. The area under the curve receiver operating characteristics (AUC-ROC) for 3-IS was higher than for SCr, BUN, lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), total protein, and glucose. Therefore, low urinary or high serum 3-IS levels may be more useful for early detection of AKI than conventional biomarkers.</P>

<P>Solution‐processable reduced graphene oxide as a hole‐transporting layer for highly efficient and stable organic solar cells is reported on page 4923 by Dong‐Yu Kim, Seok‐In Na, and co‐workers. Introduction of a newly reduced graphene oxide by simple solution processing into solar cells dramatically raises the cell efficiency and cell life‐time. The results will allow full use of chemically reduced graphene and will advance the realization of carbon‐based printable optoelectronic devices. </P>
