      • PHV年齡에서 본 體格 ·體力의 發育 ·發達 速度曲線에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this study was to examine the timing and sequence of growth and development velocity curves of some physique and physical fitness aligned on age at peak height velocity. The study design, the subjects, and the method used in cross-sectional investigation reported by Ministry of Physical Education and Youth of Korea(1989). According to the reported by Ministry of Physical Education and Youth, the subjects participated in goverment study were 7 through 50 over years of age who belonged to typical primary, junior and senior high school, college and adult, and about 550 males and 550 females in each age. Thus, the total sample size were 6,316 males and 6,316 females. Grand total was 12,632. For physique measured, 2 body linearity items ; body height and sitting height, 5 body bulk items ; body weight, chest girth and 3 site skinfold thickness items were selected. For physical fitness measured, 8 items such as grip strength, sit-ups, 10m shuttle run, standing long jump, 50m dash, long distance run, eyeclosed foot balance and trunk flexion were selected. Measurements were actually worked out in April through July, 1989. The mean and the standard deviation were computed for each itesm, each age, and each sex, respectively. The growth and development velocity magnitudes of some physique and physical fitness in this study were calculated by personal computer. The conclusion obtained as follows. 1. Ages at PHV occurred earlier about 3years than males on the average. 2. Maximal annual increments (PV) in body weight, chest girth and sitting height appeared to coincide with PHV in males, but, to about 1 and 2 years after PHV in females. 3. Two occurrence of peak velocity gained in the chest girth for males and 3 site skinfold for females. In contrast, peak velocity of triceps skinfold was not appeared in males. 4. Peak velocities of grip strength and trunk flexion occurred about 1 to 2 years after PHV in both sexes. Peak velocities of 50m dash and long distance run occurred about 1 to 2 years after PHV in males. 5. Peak velocities of sit-ups, standing long jump and eyeclosed foot balance occurred about 1 to 2 years before PHV in both sexes, respectively. 6. Peak velocity of 10m shuttle run was not occurred in both sexes, peak velocity of 50m dash was not occurred in females. 7. Generally, peak velocities of physique and physical fitness occurred earlier about 1 to 3 years in females than in males.

        파킨슨씨병 환자에 있어서 자가부신수질 이식술

        Recent experimental studies and clinical cases have suggested that grafting tissue from the adrenal medulla into the brain may alleviate the symptoms of Parkinson's disease. Autologous adrenal medullary grafts into the striatum was performed stereotactically in two patients with Parkinson's disease. Both patients were bedridden preoperatively, but 4 months after the surgery both became ambulatory and one was even capable of returning to his job. Even though the number of cases was small⑵ and the follow-up period was short, this study shows that adrenal medullary transplantation into the striatum may have some beneficial effects in patient with Parkinson's disease. Further experimental and clinical trials are necessary to see whether this procedure will be a recommendable surgical treatment for patients suffering from Parkinson's disease.

      • 자동차 번호판의 형식 및 소재가 판독성에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study is to propose the improved style and material of license number plate, which is the exterior panel of the automobile indicating the legal registration codes, in order to provide the observers with the better readability than that of the current number plate in Korea. The results are as follows; 1) The average readable distance of the single line sample plates, in day time, is longer than that of the double life ones by 22 percent. 2) The average readable distance of the reflective sample plates, in nighttime, is longer than that of the non-reflective ones by 14.7 percent. 3) The reflective yellow captions on blue background were perfectly read farther away than the blue captions on reflective yellow backgorund by 6.4 percent. Also, there was no significant difference between non-reflective color contrasted samples; blue on yellow background and yellow on blue background.

      • 닭에서 오존수의 급여가 닭와포자충 감염에 미치는 영향

        Ozone is very effective in acute and chronic viral disease as a virucidal agent and in improving the general health of the animals. The effects of ozonized water supply against Cryptosporidium baileyi was studied in 2-day-old chicken. After oral inoculation of chicken with 1×10^6 oocysts, ozonized water(0.5ppm) and tap water were supplied to experimental and control group, respectively. The prepatent period of both group was 6 days postinoculation(PI). The patent period of experimental group was shorter(6-18 days) than that of control group(6-22 days). The number of oocysts in the feces were maximum on days 11 PI, indicating 1.99×10^6 oocysts/experimental chicken and 6.00×10^6 oocysts/control chicken. The number of discharged oocysts during experimental period was higher in control group than that of experimental group. In the view of febric bursa sections on 7 days PI, the number of endogenous development of C baileyi was smaller in experimental group that in control group. This results indicate that the autoinfected sporozoite were damaged by ozone. The ozonized water supply to chickens is alleviation cryptosporidiosis.

      • 자기공명영상을 이용한 정신분열병 환자의 뇌량크기 측정

        Objectives : Nowadays many studies with MRI have reported structurai abnormalltles of corpus callosum of schizophrenic patients. However, the results are various and inconstant. In this study, we attempted to identify structural change of C O ~ U S cailosurn. Method : We measured the size of corpus callosum of the 24 schizophrenia patients (male 11, female 18) who were diagnosed by DSM-IV (19943, visited at department of psychiatry, catholic university hospital of Daegu from January 2002 to December 2003, by using midline sagittal slice of MRI. These results were compared with the size of corpus callosum of 25 controls (male 7, female 78). We divided corpus callosurn into 7 areas. We calculated and compared the areas of each subregion, mid-sagittal cerebral area, and entire corpus callosum. The results were analyzed by independent t-test. Result :When we compared subregion to corpus callosum adjusted wth mid-sagittal cerebral area, schlzoph-renia patients had significantly smaller genu (1.64k0.32 vs. 1.43k0.26 p<O.O5) and splenium (2.16f0.27 VS. 1.96+0.30 ; ~(0.05). Similarly, the ratio of total corpus callosum to midline sagittal cerebral area (%)(7.50*0.72 vs. 6.90t0.82 ~(0.05) was significantly smaller In schizophrenia than control group. Conclusion : In this study, we found significant differences in corpus callosum between schizophrenic patients and normal control group.

      • 운동전야피질 신경세포의 운동정확도에 관한 연구

        대뇌운동전야피질 신경세포가 수의적 운동에 관여한다는 많은 연구 보고가 있지만 운동조절의 어떤 변수에 조절력이 있는지는 아직 규명되지 않았다. 저자들은 원숭이를 이용한 전기생리학적 실험을 통하여 운동전야피질 신경세포가 수의적 상지운동의 준비와 수행에 관여하며 공간 감응에 대한 특징이 있는 것을 먼저 발견하였다. 본 실험에서 저자들은 수행하여야 할 운동과제의 요구되어지는 정확도에 따른 운동전야 신경세포의 활동량의 변화를 관찰하였다. 잘 훈련된 원숭이를 이용한 장기적 단세포의 전기생리학적 기록을 통하여 운동전야 신경세포가 운동 정확도에 관여한다는 것을 알 수 있었다. Our previous work has shown that primate promoter cortex cells increase their discharge during voluntary arm movements, exhibiting a distinct selectivity for a region(direction and amplitude) of horizontal extrapersonal space. In this study "Sensitivity" to space was evaluated further by modifying the accuracy of the task. Starting from a central start zone two Rhesus monkeys were trained to move a manipulandum to one of six target boxes arranged around a central start zone. Using a draftsman's arm style manipulandum the animal positioned a cursor projected on the video screen which provided real time visual update of the animal's hand poison. Both reaction time and delayed movement paradigms were studied. Using chronic unit recording techniques the activity of promoter cortical neurons was recorded during these tasks. Most cells increased their discharge prior to or during the task, and amplitude of the discharge was highly dependent on the target box size. Decreasing the target size increased the cell's discharge related to the task. Both premovement and movement related disharge could be accentuated without changes in kinematics. In spite of this increase in discharge, the preferred direction did not change. These observations suggest the promoter cortex not only contains a representation of extrapersonal space but also encodes the accuracy of arm movements.

        실신을 주소로 응급의학센터에 내원한 환자에 대한 임상적 연구

        Syncope is not uncommon problem that needs broad differential diagnosis. Correct diagnosis of the cause of syncope is important, because although some causes of syncope such as vasodepressor syncope have benign prognosis, others such as ventricular tachycardia may need prompt diagnosis and treatment. We present a retrospective study of the patients with episodes of syncope brought to Emergency Medical Center of Chung Ang Gil Hospital from January 1994 to October 1994 and the results were as followings. 1. The patients with episodes of syncope accounte for 0.5% of total Emergency Department visits. 2. The male to female ratio was 4 : 6 and mean age was about 54-years old. 3. The cause of syncope was identifiable in 48% of the case and not in 52%. The noncardiac cause(56%) was more common than the cardiac(44%) and cardiac, noncardiac, SUO(Syncope of Unknown Origin) ratio was 1 : 1.4 : 2.6. 4. 29% of patients were dignosed by history taking, physical examination, and electrocardiography when they visited the Emergency Department initially, and 88% of patients with identifiable causes were diagnosed through initial Emergency Department investigation and Holter monitioring. 5. The rate of correct diagnosis can be increased if initial investigation includes Holter monitoring, and the further research for more accurate, inexpensive and noninvasive diagnostic method for syncope is needed.

        유도초음파를 이용한 2.25Cr-1Mo재의 열화도 평가

        고온에서 장시간 사용으로 인하여 발생되는 경년열화 평가에는 파괴적인 방법이 신뢰성이 높지만 시험편 채취의 어려움이 있다. 그러므로 비파괴적인 방법에 의한 열화도 평가가 바람직하다. 본 연구에서는 2.25Cr-1Mo강에 대하여 장시간 등온열처리로 모의 열화시험편을 제작하여 고온설비부재에서 발생되는 탄화물의 석출 및 조대화, 불순물의 입계편석 등 금속학적 미세조직을 관찰하고, 미세조직의 변화와 유도 초음파의 전파특성과의 상관관계를 규명하고, 파괴시험치와 그 결과를 비교하여 초음파 비파괴평가에 의한 고온부재의 열화도 평가의 가능성을 실험적으로 검증하고자 한다. The destructive method is reliable and widely used for the estimation of material degradation but, it have time-consuming and a great difficulty in preparing specimens from in-service industrial facilities. Therefore, the etimation of degraded structural materials by nondestructive evaluation is strongly desired. In this paper, the use of guided wave was suggested for the evaluation of thermally damaged 2.25Cr-1Mo steel as an alternative way to compensate for limitations of fracture tests. The observation of microstructure variations of the material including carbide precipitation increase and spheroidization near gain boundary was conducted and the correlation with the guided wave features such as energy loss ratio and group velocity changes was investigated. Through this study the feasibility of ultrasonic guided wave evaluation for thermally damaged materials was explored.
