      • NDAS 용량 결정을 위한 시뮬레이션

        NDAS(Network Data Access System) is a system that interconnects high speed network(B-ISDN) and local area network(Ethernet, FDDI). Nowadays, the request of multimedia data increase rapidly, so NDAS system must accepts and processes that request efficiently. Comparing with normal data traffic character, multimedia data traffic character is much complex, so it is necessary to make the system that can cover such factor. In this paper, we suggest a NDAS hardware system model and also we propose a proper buffer size of NDAS system through the simulation. To suggest proper buffer size of NDAS, we assumed two different simulation models, one is the case of using only one buffer and the other is the case of using two different buffers for Ethernet and FDDI, respectively. After comparing and analyzing of simulation result, we suggests the proper NDAS system buffer size.

        매복 상악 견치의 맹출 유도에 관한 증례 보고

        Upper cuspid impation is a serious that occurs with sufficient frequency to justify diagnosis and intervention as early as a dental age of 8 years. The maxillary cuspid follows a more difficult and tortuous path of eruption than other tooth. Where upper arch crowding prevents such a tooth from following its normal eruption path, it will diverted either buccally or palatally. The diagnosis of canine impaction is on both clinical and radiographic examinations. When clinician detects early signs of ectopic eruption of canines, an attempt should be made to prevent theier impaction and its potential sequelae. Screening consists of identifying patients who lack a normal cuspid bulge on palpation, with follow-up radiographic evaluation where indicated. Selective removal of deciduous cuspids is a suggested interceptive measure in class Ⅰ uncrowded malocclusions. Each patient with an impacted canine must undergo a comprehensive evaluation of the malocclusion. The clinician should then consider the various treatment options available for the patient. Surgical exposure of the canine and orthodontic treatment to bring the tooth into the line of occlusion is the most desirable approach. After the surgical exposure of the impacted tooth, an auxiliary(button) is attached to the crown. It should be reemphasized that in the surgical exposure of an impacted tooth, only enough bone should be removed to allow for the placement of a bracket and that during the procedure the CEJ should not be intentionally exposed. The removable appliance was designed This applied traction along a desired path of eruption using elastics changed daily Removable appliance seemed to offer more in vertical anchorage than did the fixed appliances. 13 year-old male and 14 year-old female with impacted maxillary canine were treated with surgical exposure and direct traction.

      • 충남 서북부 산업재해환자 실태조사

        In order to find out the situation of industrial accidents in area of Choongnam northwest and to obtain the basic materials for prevention of industrial accidents, 647 patient who had industrial accident were selected from five general hospital in Chunan Choognam. All industrial accident cases were analysed to draw characteristic patterns in relation to industrial type, time of industrial accident, age, work duration, site of accidents, degree of accidents. The period of this study was from June 1, 1996 to May 31, 1998. The results of the study were as follows. 1. Frequency rates of accident was 42.0% in manufacturing industries, the highest among industries and followed by 21.5% in construction industries, 14.5% in transport, storage & communications industries, 11.1% in other industries, 10.8% in electricity, gas & water supply industries. 3. while the highest frequency rate of accident by month was 24.4% in March and April, the lowest was 9,1% in November and December. 4. Frequency rate of accident by time was 22.7% in 10:00-11:00. the highest among time and followed by 10.7% in 14:00-15:00. 5. The highest frequency rate of accident by age group was 42.7% in older age group(above 40 years old). 6. While the highest frequency rate of accident by site was 30.9% in hands and feet, the lowest was 9.7% in upper limbs. 7. While the highest frequency rate of accident by duration of treatment was 73.49% in below 1 month, the lowest was 0.9% in above 6 months. 8. While the highest frequency rate of accident by duration of work was 59.4% in below 1 year, the lowest was 2.6% in above 10 years.

      • 정온법을 이용한 절연재료의 열확산 계수측정

        Serveral transient techniques were used for measuring the thermal diffusivities of fibrous insulating meterials. The transient technique use din the present study was the constant temperature plate method. The mathematical model of the CTP method is based on a semi-infinite slab with finite thickness, with the front of the slab modeled at constant temperature and the rear face as being maintained at the initial temperature. At time zero, the sample was placed for several minutes on a hot plate maintained at constant temperature. The temperatures of both sample on a hot plate maintained at constant temperature. The temperature of both sample faces were measured as a function of time to confirm the boundary conditions. Temperature of an interior position of the sample were measured and were used to calculate the termal diffusivity. The boundary conditions were satisfied during the time from zero to the time just before the rear face temperature started to rise. The thermal diffusivities of NBS, blanket, made in U.S.A. and several insulators made in Korea were measured about 300℃ to confirm the accuracy of the experimental apparatus.

        기계적 합금화에 의해 제조된 고규소 Al-Si 합금 나노 결정의 특성

        High silicon Al-Si alloys with nanocrystalline structures have been produced by mechanical alloying process. Microstructural changes of the Al-Si alloys were investigated by scanning electron microscopy and the transmission electron microscopy. X-ray diffraction analysis was also made to characterize the lattice constant, crystallite size and misfit strain. It was found that the effective milling time by attrition milling was about 12hours for Al-70 wt%Si alloy system. The Al and Si crystallites were reduced to about 30 nm and 70 nm, respectively, by the mechanical alloying for more than 12hours. The misfit strains increased with milling time UD to 240 hours, and saturated to 5.73×10^(-3) for Al and Si crystallites, respectively.

        사후분해 시체에 대한 법의학적 접근

        Disposal of a homicide victim by dismemberment is rare, but individual cases are on record in most major medicolegal departments. Recognition of postmortem mutilation may be of importance in the interpretation of certain murders committed by sexual perverts and other mentally deranged individuals and sometimes performed for the sole reason of easier disposal of the body. Postmortem dismemberment is usually readily recognizable as such; The edges of the injuries are dry and lack evidence of bleeding. The joints may be disarticulated without fracture, or the use of an axe or saw may be evident from examination of bones. Parallel horizontal or oblique furrows in the bone surface are caused by skipping of the saw prior to establishing depth. Such patterns on the bone may assist in identifying the particular saw involved. So we report 25 dismembered corpses that autopsied in National Institute of Scientific Investigation. This paper can help in attempting to establish not only the first criminal investigation steps but also the medicolegal approach methods in unidentified and dismembered deaths.

        한국의 발톱진균증 환자의 삶의 질에 관한 연구

        Background: Onychomycosis, especially toenail onychomycosis has become one of the common fungal infection and has historically been regarded as a cosmetic rather than medical problem by many patients, even by physicians. Recently, however, there are several reports that is a refractory disease which may cause a deleterious effect on patiets quality of life (QOL). Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of toenail onychomycosis on QOL in Korea and to assess the chandes of QOL after treatment. Methods: Total 1004 patients with toenail onychomycosis which was confirmed by clinical findings and KOH preparation were were enrolled at 47 dermatologic centers in Korea, and interviewed with standardized QOL questionnaire before and after sytemic antifungal treatment. Responses to the questionnaire were scored by 5-point scale (1∼4) and averaged, and were analyzed for 5 dimensions of emotional impact, social impact, symptorn and functional impact, patients views concerning treatment, and relationship with doctor. Results: 1. Before and after treatment, the most serious impact was emotional dimension showing 1.90 and 1.30 in average score (AS), and social (AS: 1.14 and 0.83) and symptom and functional impact (AS: 1.05 and 0.92) was also affected. 2. In female rather than male, statistically more significant impact on patients QOL was observed in all dimensions. 3. After treatment, 3 of 5 dimensions were improved significantly - emotional dimension (AS : from 1.90 to 1.30), social dimension (AS: from 1.14 to 0.83), patients view concerning treatment (AS: from 1.34 to 1.02). 4. The drgree of patients satisfaction at the therapeutic effect was very high- 62.4% (immediately after treatment) and 65.8% (9 months affer initiation of treatment) of patients answered excellent or good. Conclusion: This study confirms that toenail onychomycosis has significant impact on the overall QOL of patients. Also the effect of antifungal therapy on patients QOL were watisfactory. Therefore, both doctor and patient should pay more attention to the treatment of onychomycosis. [Kor J Med Mycol 3(1): 115∼124]

      • Hydrogel-laden paper scaffold system for origami-based tissue engineering

        <P><B>Significance</B></P><P>This work describes an intriguing strategy for the formation of hydrogel-laden multiform structures utilizing paper sheets and suggests a route for trachea tissue engineering. It combines concepts extracted from paper origami, functional thin polymer coating, and thin hydrogel layering on top of the paper scaffolds. A computer-aided design-based lock-and-key arrangement was used for folding the sheets into multiform structures with spatial arrangements. With encapsulating cells in hydrogel-laden paper, the scaffold system was able to deliver biological cues in vivo. In this work, we have successfully applied an origami-based tissue engineering approach to the trachea regeneration model.</P><P>In this study, we present a method for assembling biofunctionalized paper into a multiform structured scaffold system for reliable tissue regeneration using an origami-based approach. The surface of a paper was conformally modified with a poly(styrene-co-maleic anhydride) layer via initiated chemical vapor deposition followed by the immobilization of poly-<SMALL>l</SMALL>-lysine (PLL) and deposition of Ca<SUP>2+</SUP>. This procedure ensures the formation of alginate hydrogel on the paper due to Ca<SUP>2+</SUP> diffusion. Furthermore, strong adhesion of the alginate hydrogel on the paper onto the paper substrate was achieved due to an electrostatic interaction between the alginate and PLL. The developed scaffold system was versatile and allowed area-selective cell seeding. Also, the hydrogel-laden paper could be folded freely into 3D tissue-like structures using a simple origami-based method. The cylindrically constructed paper scaffold system with chondrocytes was applied into a three-ring defect trachea in rabbits. The transplanted engineered tissues replaced the native trachea without stenosis after 4 wks. As for the custom-built scaffold system, the hydrogel-laden paper system will provide a robust and facile method for the formation of tissues mimicking native tissue constructs.</P>

      • Design of Secure HIC System Using Conventional Cryptography

        World Wide Web is a total solution for multi-media data transmission on Internet. Because of its characteristics like ease of use, support for multi-media data and good graphic use interface, WWW has extended to over all applications. The Secure HIC system is a data transmission system using conventional cryptography between client and server on WWW. It's main function is to support the encryption of sending data. For encryption of data IDEA is used and for authentication mechanism MD5 hash function is used. Since HIC system is sued by many users, conventional crypto system is efficient in managing their secure interactions. However, there are some restrictions on sharing of same key and data transmission between client and server, for example the risk of key exposure and the difficulty of key sharing mechanisms. To solve these problems, the Secure HIC system provides encryption mechanisms and key management policies. As the commercial use of WWW increases, security mechanisms like the Secure HIC will become widely popular.
