      • Teukyakmaip System of Large Retailers

        Purpose - The debate over comprehensive measures to regulate unfair practices of large retailers is heating up in Korea, especially with regard to the frequent violations of the Teukyakmaip system by large retailers and its adverse effects on retail industry. The aim of this article is to explore and examine both benefits and consequences of the ‘Teukyakmaip’ system, to provide comprehensive and accurate information to decision makers, and to benefit the distribution industry. Research design – This research is designed to explore and assess the specific policy. As such, comprehensive analyses of the background and current status of the policy based on secondary data are employed. Telephone and personal interviews were conducted with employees of department stores and suppliers. Results – The research findings suggest that there are benefits and consequences of the system for both large retailers and suppliers. Conclusions – Promoting economic efficiency, eradicating monopoly and oligopolistic business structures, and combating unfair trade and business practices are the key and necessary variables in determining the success of this public policy debate and enactment.

      • Anti-Inflammatory and Cytoprotective Effects of TMC-256C1 from Marine-Derived Fungus <i>Aspergillus</i> sp. SF-6354 via up-Regulation of Heme Oxygenase-1 in Murine Hippocampal and Microglial Cell Lines

        <P>In the course of searching for bioactive secondary metabolites from marine fungi, TMC-256C1 was isolated from an ethyl acetate extract of the marine-derived fungus <I>Aspergillus</I> sp. SF6354. TMC-256C1 displayed anti-neuroinflammatory effect in BV2 microglial cells induced by lipopolysaccharides (LPS) as well as neuroprotective effect against glutamate-stimulated neurotoxicity in mouse hippocampal HT22 cells. TMC-256C1 was shown to develop a cellular resistance to oxidative damage caused by glutamate-induced cytotoxicity and reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation in HT22 cells, and suppress the inflammation process in LPS-stimulated BV2 cells. Furthermore, the neuroprotective and anti-neuroinflammatory activities of TMC-256C1 were associated with upregulated expression of heme oxygenase (HO)-1 and nuclear translocation of nuclear factor-E2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) in HT22 and BV2 cells. We also found that TMC-256C1 activated p38 mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPK) and phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K)/Akt signaling pathways in HT22 and BV2 cells. These results demonstrated that TMC-256C1 activates HO-1 protein expression, probably by increasing nuclear Nrf2 levels via the activation of the p38 MAPK and PI3K/Akt pathways.</P>

      • Sauchinone Suppresses Pro-inflammatory Mediators by Inducing Heme Oxygenase-1 in RAW264.7 Macrophages

        <P>Sauchinone, a biologically active lignan isolated from the roots of <I>Saururus chinensis</I> (L<SMALL>OUR</SMALL>.) B<SMALL>AILL</SMALL>. (Saururaceae), is reported to exert a variety of biological activities, such as hepatoprotective, anti-inflammatory actions and inhibitory effects on bone resorption. In this study, we investigated the effect of sauchinone in suppressing cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) expression, leading to a reduction in COX-2-derived prostaglandin E<SUB>2</SUB> (PGE<SUB>2</SUB>) and iNOS-derived nitric oxide (NO) production in lipopolysaccharide (LPS) stimulated RAW264.7 macrophages. Present study also demonstrates the effects of sauchinone in inducing heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) expression and an increase in heme oxygenase (HO) activity in RAW264.7 macrophages. The effects of sauchinone on LPS-induced PGE<SUB>2</SUB>, NO, tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and interlukine-1β (IL-1β) production were partially reversed by the HO-1 inhibitor Tin protoporphyrin was also seen in this study. In addition, we found that treatment with extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) inhibitor (PD98059) reduced sauchinone-induced HO-1 expression. Sauchinone also increased ERK phosphorylation. These results suggest that sauchinone inhibits pro-inflammatory mediators through expression of anti-inflammatory HO-1 <I>via</I> ERK pathway.</P>

        정신분열병에 대한 리스페리돈의 효과 및 안정성

        연구목적 : 본 시험의 목적은 임상시험 시작전에 연구자들을 대상으로 PANSS Workshop을 통하여 PANSS, ESRS에 대한 국내에서의 표준화 작업을 구축하고 새로운 정신병 치료제인 리스페리돈의 효과와 안정성을 재확인하여 리스페리돈 사용에 대한 적정화를 이루는데 있다. 연구방법 : 1996년 4월부터 1996년 9월까지 국내 39개 대학병원 정신과에 입원중인 혹은 증상이 악화되어 입원하는 정신분열병 환자 377명을 대상으로 다시설 개방 연구를 시행하였다. 1주일간의 약물 배설기간을 가진후, 리스페리돈을 8주간 투여하였고, 기준점, 1주, 2주, 4주, 그리고 8주후에 평가되었다. 용량은 제1일에는 리스페리돈 1mg씩 1일 2회, 제2일에는 2mg씩 1일 2회, 제3∼7일에는 3mg씩 1일 2회 투여하였다. 이후 환자의 임상상태에 따라 임의로 증량할 수 있으며, 최대 일일 16mg을 초과하지 않도록 하였다. 추체외로 증상을 조절하기 위한 투약을 허용하였다. 임상증상 및 부작용의 평가는 PANSS(Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale), CGI(Clinical Global Impression) 그리고 ESRS(Extrapyramidal Symptom Rating Scale)을 사용하였다. 연구결과 : 377명중 343명(91%)이 8주간의 연구를 완결하였다. 치료 종결시점인 8주후 PANSS 총점수가 20% 이상 호전된 경우를 약물 반응군으로 정의할때, 약물반응군은 81.3%였다. 리스페리돈에 반응하는 예측인자로는 발병연령, 이전의 입원 횟수, 유병기간이 관련 있었다. 리스페리돈은 1주후부터 PANSS양성, 음성, 및 일반정신병리 점수상에 유의한 호전을 보여 효과가 빨랐다. CGI의 경우도 기준점에 비해 1주후부터 유의한 감소를 나타내었다. ESRS의 경우, 파킨슨 평가점수는 기준점과 비교해 투여 1주, 2주, 4주후 유의하게 증가되었다가 8주후 기준점과 차이가 없었다. Dystonia 평가점수는 1주후만 유의한 증가를 보였으며, dyskinesia 평가점수는 유의한 차이가 없었다. 혈압, 맥박수의 생명징후 및 일반 혈액학 검사, 생화학적 검사, 심전도 검사에서 유의한 변화는 없었다. 결 론 : 이상의 다시설 개방 임상 연구를 통해 리스페리돈은 정신분열병 환자에서 양성증상뿐만 아니라 음성증상 및 전반적인 증상에도 효과적인 것으로 사료된다. 보다 명확한 평가를 위해서는 다른 항정신병약물과의 이중맹검 연구가 필요할 것으로 생각되며, 또한 장기적 치료에 대한 평가도 함께 이루어져야 하겠다. Objective : The purpose of this study was to investigate the efficacy and safety of risperidone in the treatment of Korean schizophrenic patients. Method : This multicenter open study included 377 schizophrenic patients drawn from 39 university hospitals. After a wash-out period of 1 week, the schizophrenic patients were treated with risperidone for 8 weeks and evaluated at 5 points ; at baseline, and 1, 2, 4 and 8 weeks of treatment. The dose was increased from 2mg/day(1mg twice daily) to 6mg/day(3mg twice daily) during the first week and adjusted to a maximum of 16mg/day over the next 7 weeks according to the patient's clinical response. Medication to control extrapyramidal symptoms was permitted. The psychiatric and neurological status of the patients was assessed by PANSS, CGI, and ESRS scales. Results : 343(91%) of 377 patients completed the 8-week trial period. Clinical improvement, as defined by a 20% or more reduction in total PANSS score at end point, was shown by 81.3% of patients. The predictors of response to risperidone were associated older age, shorter duration of illness, fewer previous hospitalization. Risperidone had rapid onset of action ; a significant decrease of the total PANSS and three PANSS factor(positive, negative, general), and CGI was already noticed at the end of first week. For the ESRS, parkinsonism rating scores were significantly increased until week 4 comparing with baseline. Dystonia rating scores were significantly increased until week 1, and dyskinesia rating scores were not significantly changed during the study. Laboratory parameters including vital sign, EKG, hematological, and biochemical values showed no significant changes during the trial. Conclusions : This study suggests that risperidone is generally safe and effective against both the positive and negative symptoms in our group of patients.

        상아질 표면 처리에 의한 상아질과 복합레진의 결합에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this study was to compare the shear bond strengths to ground dentin surfaces of four dentinal bonding agents in 193 teeth. Various dentin surfaces treated with four dentin bonding agents were attached with two restorative composite resins. The effevtiveness of the bonding were tested by the monitoring the shear bond strength. The shear bond strengths were measured after 2 hours and 24 hours after surface conditioning with four dentin bonding agents. Effects of EDTA, the additive illumination, and sealer treatments without primer on bond strength to dentin sufraces were assessed. In addition the effects of the thickness of specimens ranging from 0.65 mm to 1.95 mm and the ratio of catalyst and base paste on the bond strength of chemical cure composite resin were estimated. The shear bond strength was determined by testing specimens in the Instron universal testing machine(Model No.1122) at a crosshead speed of 1.0mm/min Following conclusions were drawn: 1. The highest mean shear bond strengths of chemical cure composite resin to dentin conditioning with dentin bonding agents aged 2 hours were obtained, and then that was decreased with time followed by EDTA treatment. 2. In light cure composite resin, the shear bond strength was increased following dentin conditioning with bonding agents with time, irradiation time and EDTA treatment except in SB group. 3. The thicker the composite resin specimen was, the less the shear bond strength in chemical cure composite resin was. 4. In light cure composite resin, there was a little change in shear bond strength following dentin conditioning with bonding agents. 5. In chemical cure composite resin, the shear bond strength was the highest in the ratio of 1/1 of catalyst and base part. 6. Without a dentin primer, shear bond strength to dentin conditioned only with UB sealer was the hightest among four sealers in light cure composite resin.

      • LCA 기법을 적용할 제품의 우선순위 선정 방법론

        본 연구의 목적은 일정한 논리적 절차를 거쳐서 객관적인 전과정평가의 우선순위를 선정하기 위한 일반적인 방법론의 개발이다. 우선 전과정평가 대상이 되는 제품(산업군)의 우선순위를 평가하기 위해서 제품의 환경성과 관련된 환경규제, 국내외 전과정평가 수행사례, 유해물질 등을 평가항목으로 설정하였다. 설정된 평가항목들에 대한 자료조사 및 분석을 통하여 세분화한 데이터베이스를 생성하였으며, 또한 학계 및 산업계의 의견을 반영하기 위해 전과정평가 전문가 및 산업계 관계자들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 설문조사결과를 바탕으로 각각의 평가항목 및 세부평가항목의 가중치를 부여하였고, 각 평가항목별로 점수를 설정하였다. 본 연구에서 개발한 방법론은 우선순위를 비교해야하는 제품(산업군)들이 각각의 평가항목에서 설정해놓은 해당 점수를 부여받게 된다. 부여받은 각 평가항목의 점수들을 모두 합산하면 평가대상이 되는 제품(산업군)에 대해 하나의 우선순위 평가 점수를 갖게 된다. 이와 같은 과정으로 방법론이 구축되었으며, 사례연구를 통하여 방법론의 타당성을 검증하였다. 이렇게 산출된 우선순위 평가점수를 평가하고자하는 제품(산업군)들과 비교하여 높은 점수를 갖는 제품(산업군)이 전과정평가를 먼저 실시하는 것이 바람직하다는 결론을 얻을 수 있다. The purpose of this study is to develop a general method to decide the priority of LCA application through a logical procedure. First of all, evaluation categories were developed to decide priority of subject products(industrial groups). The evaluation categories consist of environment regulations related to subject product, LCA case studies, hazardous substances, etc. The subdivided database was constructed through researching and analyzing information about the selected evaluation categories. In addition, a questionnaire was conducted to reflect the opinions from academic and industrial circles. Based on the result of the questionnaire, each evaluation category and sub-evaluation category were weighed differently, and certain points were assigned to them. According to the method developed in this study, comparing industrial groups or products for prioriting will have its total score that is a sum of points assigned to each evaluation category. This results that an industrial group or product having higher score than the others becomes the subject to apply LCA.

      • 과수 조류피해 방지에 관한 연구

        새로운 저비용 고효율 조류 피해 방지법의 개발을 위한 기초자료를 얻기 위하여, 현재 사과, 배 과수원에서 사용되고 있는 조류피해 방지 방법들의 정확한 효과를 서로 비교 검토하고, 아울러 충북지역 과수 재배 농가들을 대상으로 유해조류에 의한 피해 실태와 경제성 있는 조류 피해방지 방법에 대한 설문조사를 병행 실시한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 조류피해는 방조망 설치에 의해서만 완전히 방지할 수 있었으며, 조류 피해율별 손익계산 결과를 참고하여 이익이 있을 때는 표준방조망을 설치하고, 그렇지 않을 경우에는 설치비가 저렴하며 농가에서 간단히 시공할 수 있는 간이방조망 설치가 더 경제적인 것으로 판단되었다. 도내 과수 농가의 조류피해는 지역 간에 큰 차이가 있었으며, 음향적 방제인 버드가드와 보호봉지인 망사봉지에 의한 방제가 가장 효과적이었다. 그러나 버드가드는 높은 설치비용이 문제되므로, 퇴치 효과가 비슷하거나 더 우수하면서 저렴한 한국식 음향 기구를 개발할 필요가 있는 것으로 판단되었다. 보호봉지인 UV 봉지와 플라스틱 보호캡 및 망사봉지 처리는 품종에 관계없이 피해를 현저하게 감소시켰으나, 과실의 착색 등 품질에 미치는 영향에 대해서 추가적인 연구와 검토가 필요한 것으로 생각되었다. To obtain basic data for low cost-high efficiency control methods for bird damage, the available control methods currently in use mostly in Chungbuk Province were tested on site, and the control efficiency was compared. Also, a comprehensive survey of actual bird damage and the control methods on model apple and pear growers in Chungbuk Province was conducted. The results are summarized as follows. The perfect control for bird damage was possible only through bird net, it was recommended that profit-and loss account must be considered before installing bird net, and when the 'standard bird net' does not come up to break-even point, more economic and convenient 'simplified bird net' should be a alternative. Actual extent of bird damage varied according to the locality, and imported acoustic apparatus BirdGard^R, development of our own system with superior or same quality and reasonable price is necessary. Fruit bags such as UV bags, plastic protective caps, and net bags were highly effective for bird damage control, irrespective of fruit species and cultivar, but further study to resolve some problems such as poor coloration caused by bagging is necessary.

      • 황금(Scutellaria baicalensis) flavonoid의 대량 분리

        황금의 뿌리를 물 또는 80% MeOH 로 추출하고 각각 농축하였다. MeOH 추출물은 물, EtOAc 및 n-BuOH로 분배 추출하였다. 얻어진 분획물에 대하여 silica gel column chromatography 하거나, 침전 및 여과과정을 반복하여 4종의 flavonoids 즉, baicalin, baicalein, wogonin 및 wogonoside를 높은 수율로 분리하였다. 분리한 화합물의 화학구조는 NMR을 포함한 물리화학적 data를 해석하여 동정하였다. The root of Scutellaria baicalensis was extracted with water or 80% aqueous MeOH and concentrated, respectively. The MeOH extract was partitioned between H_(2)O with organic solvents such as EtOAc and n-BuOH. The silica gel column chromatography or the precipitation method led to the isolation of four pure flavonoids, baicalin, baicalein, wogonin and wogonosides, with very high yield. The identification of the obtained flavonoids was carried out from the result of physico-chemical data including NMR.

        소타액선에 발생된 선양 낭포암

        Adenoid cystic carcinoma is a malignant salivary gland tumor with typical histologic patterns. The majority of these tumors occurs in the minor salivary glands, especially mucosa of the hard palate. The authors experienced the patients, who complained the tumor-like soft tissue masses on the palatal and mouth floor area. After careful analysis of clinical, radiological and histopathological findings, we diagnosed them as adenoid cystic carcinomas in the minor salivary glands, and obtained results were as follows: 1. Main clinical symptoms were a slow growing soft tissue mass with normal intact mucosa on the palatal area, and soft tissue mass with mild pain on the mouth floor area. 2. In the radiographic examminations, soft tissue masses were observed with invasion to adjacent structures, and moderate defined, heterogeneous soft tissue mass with enhanced margin, respectively. 3. In the histopathologic examminations, dark-stained, small uniform basaloid cells in the hyaline or fibrous stroma were observed as solid and cribriform patterns, respectively.

      • 칼슘제 수관살포가 참다래의 과실 품질과 저장에 미치는 영향

        This study were carried out to improve Kiwifruit quality and storage life. Three kinds of calcium compound were sprayed and calcium content of fruits, weight loss during fruit storage and fruit quality were investigated. Calcium contents within leaves and fruit were lower in Clef-non treatment than that of control. The calcium content in fruit pericarp of Kalk-H and CaCl2 was 0.04 to 0.05% higher than that of control. Fruit weight and soluble solids content at harvest was a little higher but acidity and fruit hardness was lowered. Fruit weight loss of Kalk-H and CaCl2 treatment was 1.39 to 1.53% lower than that of control during storage. The soluble solids of ripen fruit was 1.0 to 1.3% higher in all treatment and 0.8% higher in Kalk-H treatment in 120 of after storage. Fruit hardness of control fruit was higher at harvest but that of CaCl2 treatmented fruit was 0.39㎏/φ 5㎜ higher in 120 days of storage.
