        The droplet behavior of 83.9 wt.% HAN water solution was investigated experimentally with various ambient temperature and nitrogen environment. At the initial stage of evaporation under thermal decomposition temperature of HAN, gradual decreasing of droplet diameter was observed. After that, the droplet started to expand due to the internal pressure build up by water nucleation inside the droplet. The micro explosion was observed at higher temperature than the decomposition temperature of HAN and the remaining droplet showed similar behavior of single composition droplet. The decreasing rate was augmented as the ambient temperature increasing.

        야뇨증 환아들의 심리사회적 특성에 대한 다기관 연구 : 행동 및 정서 문제를 중심으로

        Objectives : The aim of this study was to examine the behavioral and emotional problems associated with nocturnal enuresis in Korean children. Methods : Three hundred eighteen children with nocturnal enuresis, together with their parents, completed the Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL), Disruptive Behavior Disorder Scale according to DSM-IV (DBDS), Children's Depression Inventory (CDI), State-Trait Anxiety Inventory for Children (STAIC), and Piers-Harris Children's Self-Concept Scale (PHCSC). Ninety-three normal students were selected as the control group. Results : Compared to the normal control group, the mean scores with regard to the withdrawn, social problems, attention problems, delinquent behavior, aggressive behavior, externalizing problems and total problems profiles were significantly higher in the nocturnal enuresis group according to the CBCL results. The nocturnal enuresis group also scored significantly higher in the ADHD and ODD profiles of the DBDS. The nocturnal enuresis group was more depressed and anxious than the control group according to the results of the CDI and STAI. The mean score of the PHCSC was significantly lower in the nocturnal enuresis group when compared to the normal control group. Conclusion : The results of this study suggest that children with nocturnal enuresis in Korea have clinically relevant behavioral and emotional problems. The findings support the link between nocturnal enuresis and psychopathology in Korean children.

        노인의 팔 굽힘/폄 저항 운동 시 하중 증가에 따른 근육의 활성도 및 기여도 분석

        The purpose of this study was to assess activation and contribution of muscles of the elderly according to increased loading during the arm flexion extension resistance exercise. Surface electromyographic signals were acquired from biceps brachii, triceps brachii, deltoid posterior, pectoralis major and latissimmus dorsi to determine the difference of the activation of specific muscles between the elderly and young. Five elderly and five young males with no musculoskeletal disease volunteered for the study. Electromyographic activities in the muscles were measured during resistance exercise and normalized to the maximum EMG activity recorded in the maximal voluntary static contraction (MVC). Against the increased loading during arm flexion/extension resistance exercises, the young uses muscles evenly but the elderly uses one specific muscle frequently. Contribution of triceps brachii during extension and deltoid posterior during flexion was principal in the elderly.

        In recent years, gonorrhea has been pandemic and remains one of the most common STDs in the world, especially in developing countries. For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of Penicillinase Producing Neisseria gonorrhoeae(PPNG), we have been trying to study the patients who have visited the Venereal Disease Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by menas of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. In 1998, 93 strians of N. genorrhoeae were isolated, among which 60(64.5%) were PPNG. The prevalence of PPNG in Seoul, which had been decreased to 39% in 1996 after a peak of 74.3% in 1993, is increased to 64.5% in 1998.

      • NHCF 막전극과 코발트 양이온간의 이온교환에 있어서 용액의 물성과 주사속도의 영향

        니켈 표면에 이온교환막을 생성시켜 NHCF 막전극을 제조하고, 순수한 니켈전극과 NHCF 막전극을 나트륨 용액에서 연속적으로 반복되는 순환전위곡선을 측정하였다. 이 곡선들로부터 순수한 니켈과 NHCF의 산화/환원 반응 특성을 분석하였다. 또한 NHCF 막전극을 코발트와 이온교환 반응시키면서 순환전위곡선을 측정하고, 이 곡선들로부터 산화/화원반응에 흐른 전기량을 산출하여 용액의 농도, 온도, pH, 그리고 전위 주사속도 등의 변화에 따른 영향을 조사하였다. NHCF 막전극은 화학적 방법보다 전기화학적 방법으로 제조할 경우에 안정적인 성능을 갖며, 전극전위 공급시간이 길수록 막전극의 이온교환 성능이 우수함을 알 수 있었다. NHCF 막전극은 코발트와 산화/환원할 때 중성 용액보다 산성 용액에서, 고농도보다 저농도에서 첨두전류, 흐른 전기량, 반응성이 높기 때문에 저농도의 폐수 처리에 효과적이다. 또한 20~60℃의 온도 범위에서 30℃인 경우에서 이온교환 성능이 가장 높고, 첨두전류는 주사속도의 0.7승에 비례 증가하였다. In this study NHCF film electrode was derivatized on the nickel surface by the chemical and electrochemical methods. The redox reaction of pure nickel and NHCF film electrode were investigated in 0.5 M NaNO₃solution by the cyclic voltammetry. We observed the effects of cobalt concentration. solution temperature, solution pH. and potential sweep rate on the charge passing through redox reaction. It was found that electrochemically derivatized NHCF film electrode was more effective to the ion exchange than chemically self-assembled film electrode. Peak current density, charge passing through redox reaction, and reactivity were higher when increasing the potentiated time for NHCF generation. They were also higher at acidic solution, at lower concentration of cobalt, and at 30 C among applied potential range of 20℃ to 60 C. Peak current density increased with the potential sweep rate by the magnitude of 0.7.

      • 카드뮴에 의해 유발된 흰쥐 고환의 미세구조 및 단백질 변화

        Although cadmium is a well known heavy metal which attacks testis and results male infertility, the mechanism of action in the testis is'nt still fully known. In the previous experiment, authors observed morphological changes in the testis, and found cadmium-induced death of all the spermatogenic cells and hemorrhagic necrosis within the seminiferous tubules, and apoptosis and death of interstitial cells and fibroblasts in the interstitial tissue of the testis. In this experiment, cadmium chloride (4 mg/kg of body weight) administered to the adult male rats(Sprague-Dawlcy) intraperitoneally and sacrificed 1 week after treatment. And electrophoresis, immunoprecipitation and Western blotting, and N-terminal analysis were performed to find the proteins changed after cadmium treatment in the testis. And the results were as follows; 1. Two proteins of molecular weight 42kDa and 21kDa disappeared after cadmium treatment. 2. The protein of 2lkDa was rat collagen type I alpha 2. According to the above results, it was considered that cadmium degraded the collagen fibers within the wall of small blood vessels in seminiferous tubules and interstitial tissues and disrupted vascular walls, which resulted hemorrhagic necrosis, death of all the spermatogenic cells, and the death of interstitial cells and fibroblastic cells.

      • CAS 세멘트 제조에 관한 기초연구

        The experimental results of synthesized expansive sttringites with aqueous solution of aluminumsulphate and milk of lime are as follows. 1) The synthesized reactions are progressed toward exothermic reaction rapidly. 2) Compared to crystallizing H₂O content of the synthesized 3Cao·Al₂O₃·3CaSO₄·xH₂O, diluted aqueous solutions is less than conc aqueous solution. 3) The crystal forms of synthetic ettringite are observed to spherical and column forms by SEM. 4) By the results of XRD analysis, ettringites contained below 6 mols CaO appeared to CaSO₄ but in the 7 and 8 mols CaO contained ettringites obtained CaSO₄and free CaO. 5) The expansibility and water absorption rate of 6 and 7 mols CaO contained ettringites are excellent.

        The purpose of this research was to investigate the present state of continual upbringing of school elite sports, athletic facilities, university and business sports teams and the achievements of the 78th National Athletic Competition of Ulsan city and find out how to activate the elite sports in Ulsan base on the investigations. The results are as follows; 1) In the 78th National athletic competition, Ulsan was ranked the lowest, scoring 10,868points, 1.68% of all the scores. 2) Athletic facilities of Ulsan are the worst of the 16 cities and provinces. 3) It is very necessary in Ulsan to continuosly train and develop teams. In particular, it is most required to concentrate on improving field and track competition, swimming, western style archery, gymnastics, cycling, weight-lifting, canoe and shooting.

        두가지 혈류 유발방법에 의한 새로운 심폐소생술(이중 혈류 유발 심폐소생술)장치의 개발

        Background: There have been many efforts to augment blood flow during cardiopulmonary resuscitation. These efforts have focused on maximizing the effect of cardiac pump or thoracic pump alone. However, considering that the heart is the biggest blood reservoir and increase of intrathoracic pressure can generate blood flow, simultaneous exploitation of both mechanisms may have synergistic effect. We hypothesized that simultaneous chest constriction in addition to sternal compression by standard CPR may have additive hemodynamic effects by preventing deformation of the chest and increase of intrathoracic pressure. Methods and results: we built a new mechanical device to perform compression and thoracic constriction simultaneously. The device consists of two main elements. Piston in the center is to depress the sternum. Strap is to constrict the thorax circumferentially. Strap is attached to both sides of the piston. When the piston is pushed down, it depresses the sternum and pulls on the thoracic strap. To determine strap width to produce optimal hemodynamic effect, we measured hemodynamic parameters with variable widths of strap in two dogs after induction of ventricular fibrillation. Result of the experiment showed that 10cm wide strap was determined to be most effective. We also determined optimal depth of compression to produce maximal hemodynamic effect with animal experiments using two dogs. Animal experiments showed that the highest aortic pressure could be generated when the stemum was depressed to 5 cm. Cardiopulmonary resusciation using a new device could generate higher systolic aortic pressure, coronary perfusion pressure and end-tidal carbon dioxide tension in comparison with standard cardiopulmonary resuscitation in a pilot animal study using two dogs. Conclusion: New cardiopulmonary resuscitation method using a mechanical device designed by us could perform sternal compression and simultaneous thoracic constriction, and generate better hemodynamic effects than standard cardiopulmonary resuscitation in pilot animal experiments.
