      • 급성 지주막하 출혈에 동반된 관상동맥 연축에 의한 심근경색증 1예

        In many cases, acute cerebrovascular disease is accompanied by abnormal electocardiograms. Also, though rather uncommon, acute myocardial infraction is also seen. The mechanism of its occurance is uncertain but it is thought to be related to coronary artery spasms, an abnormal autonomic nervous system, and a catecholamine increase. A female patient of 34 years of age came to the hospital because of sudden headache accompanied by substernal chest pain. A subarachnoid hemorrhage due to a cerebral aneurysm rupture had occured, and there was ST segment elevation in lead II, III, and aVF of the electrocardiogram. A cardiac enzyme test, an echocardiography, and a coronary angiography were performed, and she was diagnosed to have acute myocardial infarction due to coronary artery spasm. Clipping of the aneurysm was performed. With the use of nitrate and an angiotension converting enzyme inhibitor, the condition of the patient improved.

      • 대청호 식물플랑크톤의 계절별 밀도변화와 주요종의 미세구조

        The change of density and ultrastructure of representative phytoplankton in Daechungho was studied on May 30, August 1, September 10, and November 12, 2002. A total of 50 phytoplankton species were identified, representing 7 classes. A total of 646 phytoplanktons per 1 ㎖ at Seonchakjang (1% of Cyanophyceae, 19% of Chlorophyceae, 76% of Bacillariophyceae, 3% of Crysophyceae, and 1% Dinophyceae) and 1378 per 1 ㎖ at Hoeincheon (1% of Cyanophyceae, 19% of Chlorophyceae, 78% of Bacillariophyceae, and 2% of Crysophyceae) occurred on May 30. A total of 1141 phytoplanktons per 1 ㎖ at Seonchakjang (60% of Cyanophyceae, 24% of Chlorophyceae, 12% of Bacillariophyceae, and 2% of Crysophyceae) and 2566 per 1 ㎖ at Hoeincheon (55% of Cyanophyceae, 21% of Chlorophyceae, 23% of Bacillariophyceae, and 1% of Crysophyceae) occurred on August 1. A total of 1946 phytoplanktons per 1 ㎖ at Seonchakjang (74% of Cyanophyceae, 17% of Chlorophyceae, and 9% of Bacillariophyceae) and 984 per 1 ㎖ at Hoeincheon (39% of Cyanophyceae, 57% of Chlorophyceae, and 2% of Bacillariophyceae) occurred on September 10. A total of 364 phytoplanktons per 1 ㎖ at Seonchakjang (5% of Cyanophyceae, 44% of Chlorophyceae, 48% of Bacillariophyceae, and 1% of Crysophyceae) and 469 per 1 ㎖ at Hoeincheon (6% of Cyanophyceae, 46% of Chlorophyceae, and 46% of Bacillariophyceae) occurred on November 12. Anabaena planctonica, Anabaena sp., Microcystis aeruginosa, Oscillatoria sp. of Cyanophyceae, Ankistrodesmus sp., Dictyospaerium pulchellum, Micractinium pusillum, Pediastrum simplex var. doudenarium, Staurastrum cingulum of Chlorophyceae and Ceratium hirundinella of Dinophyceae were observed by scanning electron microscopy.

        Bio-and-photodegradable polymer composites were prepared by blending biodegradable aliphatic polyester and photodegradable master batch(M/B). Photodegradability, biodegradability, thermal properties and mechanical properties were investigated. The biodegradability of EnPol(G4600) composites decreased wish increasing the amount of M/B, while that of EnPol(G8000) composites increased. Tensile strength and elongation decreased with increasing the time of outdoor exposure and the amount of M/B but modulus comparatively maintained. The mechenical properties decreased as the content of M/B increased, while the melting temperature unchanged.

        Landsat 영상을 활용한 지리학습교재 구성 방안 : 고등학교 한국지리 북한 관련 단원을 사례로

        본 연구는 북한 지역지리 학습 구성방안을 제시한 것으로, 북한의 지역 특성상 직접적인 자료를 획득하기 어려우므로 Landsat TM 및 ETM 영상을 이용하여 고등학교 한국지리의 북한 관련 단원의 교재를 제작하고, 수업안을 제시해 보았다. 이들 영상은 기하보정, 방사보정, 좌표수정 등의 전처리 과정을 거쳤다. 교재 제작을 위한 분석으로는 토지피복 비교를 위한 Band 조합과 식생 변화 파악을 위한 NDVI 방법을 이용하였다. 교과 내용과 관련한 내용 설계에서는 북한의 식량 현실 및 산지의 농경지 개발에 따른 삼림파괴 내용을 활용하였으며, 학습교재 구성방안에서는 학생들이 직접 사용할 수 있는 북한의 토지이용, 삼림파괴, 식생지수, 북한의 식량부족 등에 관한 학습지안을 제시하고 있다. Landsat 위성영상 분석에는 영상처리 기술 습득, 장비 및 영상 구입에 따른 경제적인 문제가 따르므로 교육당국, 대학, 교재 개발자, 교사 개인의 노력이 따라야 할 것이다. This study aims to suggest a teaching material and program of regional geography of North Korea using Landsat TM and ETM images. These images are preprocessed for geometric, radiometric correction, and geographic grid correction. Analytic techniques of teaching material using images are band combination for land cover analysis and NDVI for vegetation change. Planning of text contents includes food situation, cropland development in mountain slope, and deforestation of North Korea. The student’s worksheet are suggested with contents such as land use, deforestation, vegetation index and food shortage. Education administration, college, teaching material developer, and teacher altogether try to make their efforts to solve economic problems due to image process techniques and image supplying.

        태양전지(太陽電池) 폐(廢) 모듈로부터 실리콘 및 강화(彈化)유리 회수(回收)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究)

        본 연구에서는 다양한 방법들을 이용하여 태양전지 폐 모듈로부터 태양전지의 주요 구성요소인 실리콘과 강화유리를 회수하는 연구를 수행하였다. 강화유리는 유기용매를 사용하여 회수하였고, EVA수지는 열처리를 통하여 완전히 제거하였다. 실리콘은 계면 활성제를 첨가한 혼산용액을 이용하여 표면물질을 제거하고 회수하였다. 90%이상의 높은 실리콘 회수율을 얻었다. 본 연구에 의하여 얻어진 강화유리와 실리콘은 태양전지 모듈의 원료로 재활용되어 실리콘 공급부족 문제해결, 태양전지 제조원가 및 폐기물 처리비용 절감에 기여할 것으로 기대된다. We devised a procedure for the recovery of silicon and tempered glass from waste photovoltaic (PV) modules using optimized conditions. The tempered glass was recovered without any damage using organic solvents. The surface material is removed by applying an acid solution on the surface of the PV cell. Through our proposed method, we offer a much more efficient approach for recycling solar cells with a surfactant than the conventional method. This process, we obtained pure silicon with a yield of 90% by chemical treatment with the surfactant at room temperature for 18 min. The silicon yield was characterized using an inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometer.

        Reexamination of the genus Pterocladiella (Gelidiaceae, Rhodophyta) in Korea based on morphology and rbcL sequences

        Although Pterocladiella is a well-known agar-producing red algal genus, its taxonomy in Korea appears to be confused. In the present study, we demonstrate the occurrence of Pterocladiella nana and P. tenuis, as well as P. capillacea in Korea on the basis of morphological and plastid rbcL sequence comparisons. P. capillacea commonly occurs along the coasts of Korea and has regular pinnate branches with abundant second-order branches, growing up to 10 cm in length. P. nana occurs in the intertidal zone of Jeju and is distinguished by the small size of its thalli (up to 5 cm) and regular branches with up to third-order branches. P. tenuis is distributed mostly subtidally on the southern coast of Jeju and has irregular branches with rarely second-order branches, growing up to 19 cm in length. We determined rbcL sequences from 19 specimens (15 from Korea and four from France) and downloaded 28 sequences from GenBank. Analyses of all 47 rbcL sequences revealed that each of three species was consistently resolved. P. capillacea and P. tenuis always formed a sister clade with P. nana at the base. Given that 12 rbcL haplotypes from 28 specimens of P. capillacea have been found to date, analysis of a fast-evolving gene from across the range of the species should highlight its genetic diversity.

      • The clinical impacts of fibromyalgia school program for fibromyalgia patients

        Background & Objective: Fibromyalgia (FM), a chronic complex clinical syndrome characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain and various somatic symptoms, has a considerable negative impact on the quality of life of FM patients. Although a multidisciplinary approach is needed to alleviate pain in these patients, there is little information available on the multidisciplinary approach in real clinical settings. We aimed to evaluate the treatment efficacy of FM school program as outpatient, multidisciplinary treatment for FM and examined whether the efficacy would be sustained for 6 months following the treatment. Methods: We conducted a prospective clinical trial in 45 FM patients; 15 patients (program group) completed the 12-week FM school program and 30 FM patients (non-program group) were matched for age and gender. The FM school program consisting of coping skills for illness and education of core strength exercises were a total of six sessions, every other week. The outcome variables were 100 mm visual analog scales (VAS) for musculoskeletal pain and morning fatigue, Fibromyalgia Impact Questionnaire (FIQ) score, the Hamilton depression (HAM-D) scale, and Short Form 36 health survey (SF-36). All were measured at baseline, and 4 weeks and 6 months after the end of the program. Results: At the end of program, VAS of pain and fatigue in the program-group were significantly improved (-33.1±6.9 and -32.6±7.1, both p 0.0001) and lower than those of non-program group (p=0.0015 and p=0.0001). FIQ score and HAM-D scale in program-group were more improved compared with those of non-program group (mean ΔFIQ -27.9 vs. -5.5, p=0.0001 and mean ΔHAM-D -12.4 vs -4.6, p=0.0012). The improvement of SF 36 in program-group was higher than those of non-program groups (p<0.0001). After 6 months, the improvements of pain/fatigue and depression in the program-group were sustained compared with those of non-program group. Conclusions: The results of this study suggest that FM school program as multidisciplinary approach improves global well-being and the quality of life in FM patients.       • Complex phylogeographic patterns in the freshwater alga <i>Synura</i> provide new insights into ubiquity vs. endemism in microbial eukaryotes

        <P>Abstract</P><P>The global distribution, abundance, and diversity of microscopic freshwater algae demonstrate an ability to overcome significant barriers such as dry land and oceans by exploiting a range of biotic and abiotic colonization vectors. If these vectors are considered unlimited and colonization occurs in proportion to population size, then globally ubiquitous distributions are predicted to arise. This model contrasts with observations that many freshwater microalgal taxa possess true biogeographies. Here, using a concatenated multigene data set, we study the phylogeography of the freshwater heterokont alga <I>Synura petersenii sensu lato</I>. Our results suggest that this <I>Synura</I> morphotaxon contains both cosmopolitan and regionally endemic cryptic species, co-occurring in some cases, and masked by a common ultrastructural morphology. Phylogenies based on both proteins (seven protein-coding plastid and mitochondrial genes) and DNA (nine genes including ITS and 18S rDNA) reveal pronounced biogeographic delineations within phylotypes of this cryptic species complex while retaining one clade that is globally distributed. Relaxed molecular clock calculations, constrained by fossil records, suggest that the genus <I>Synura</I> is considerably older than currently proposed. The availability of tectonically relevant geological time (10<SUP>7</SUP>–10<SUP>8</SUP> years) has enabled the development of the observed, complex biogeographic patterns. Our comprehensive analysis of freshwater algal biogeography suggests that neither ubiquity nor endemism wholly explains global patterns of microbial eukaryote distribution and that processes of dispersal remain poorly understood.</P>
