An inequal growth among regions is pointing out one of the very serious social problems in the Korea of today. A purpose of this thesis, after analize relations among changes of industrial structure, population distribution·movement, a group of policy maker, puts emphasis on proofing that these factors are really connected with inequal growth among regions. Analytic technique that is useing in this thesis is a Correlation research, and results of analysis are following. ⅰ) An industrial structure and population distribution·movement are connected with each other closely. ⅱ) Propensity for regionalism of a growp of policy maker is showed strongly, and this propensity brings about inequal growth among regions connected with changes of industrial structure. ⅲ) In the case of dividing into 5 sphers our country, there is proofed that the National Capital region contains great variety of factors that are able to grow, and next by order of following Yeongnam region, Choong cheong region, Kangweon region and Honam region.
산불진화정보 관리를 위한 Mobile GIS 공간 데이터 압축기법 개발

최근 무선 인터넷 및 통신기술의 눈부신 발달과 LBS(location based service)개념을 기반으로 한 mobile GIS 기술 개발은 대규모 산불 발생시 정확한 현장 파악과 신속한 상황보고 뿐만 아니라 사고 예방과 분석·평가에 이르기까지 의사결정지원시스템으로 자리를 잡고 있다. 본 연구에서는 지상진화대의 정확한 위치와 이동상황을 실시간으로 파악하여 안전한 진화작업 유도 및 산불진화 환경정보를 제공을 목적으로 mobile GIS 기술 기반의 산불진화정보 관리시스템을 설계하고 네트워크 부하감소를 위하여 '.gci'라는 공간 데이터 압축기법을 개발하여 면, 선, 주기 데이터에 대하여 51~62%의 높은 압축률을 구현하였다. 따라서 대규모 산불 발생시 일어날 수 있는 안전사고를 미연에 방지하고 사고 발생시 신속한 후속조치로 안전하고 과학적인 산불진화 업무를 수행할 수 있도록 하였다. Recently GPS and mobile GIS technologies based on LBS (location based service) have played an important role as DSS (decision supporting system) for domestic forest fire extinguishment policies. In this study forest fire extinguishments information management system based on mobile GIS technique was designed to seize the exact location on wireless network so that it helps to guide the safe and efficient extinguishments affairs and provide the extinguishments environment toward ground fighting teams and the central forest government in real time. Moreover, possibly to operate this system, the foundation technologies by the name of `. gci such as the spatial data compression method, the spatial data transmission method over wireless network and the spatial analysis interface on PDA should be mainly considered. Especially, in this study the spatial data compression method having high compression rate from 51% to 62% for each polygon, line, and point data, without the loss of data was developed.

This paper describes the development of sputtered tungsten electrode for discharge tube by making use of Sputtering method using plasma. The Xe discharge tube was designed and fabricated by using sputtered tungsten electrode, and the ICCD(Intensified Charged Coupled Device) and monochromator were used in order to observe the discharge image distribution and to measure the signal intensity. As a result, the emission light form the electrode was spreaded almost uniformly over a wide wavelength band, and the discharge image distribution and the signal intensity show quite a uniform distribution. The emission light from the Xe discharge tube was peaked at 488[nm] and 648[nm].

Background/Aims: This study aimed to elucidate the epidemiological and clinical characteristics of chronic hepatitis C (CHC) patients in South Korea from 2007 to 2017 and to compare the treatment patterns between two periods before and after the first approval of direct-acting antivirals (DAA) in South Korea in 2015. Methods: This prospective, multicenter cohort enrolled 2,758 patients with hepatitis C virus (HCV) viremia at seven tertiary centers, and clinical data were prospectively collected with questionnaire surveys focused on lifetime risk factors related to HCV infection. Results: The HCV patients had a mean age of 57.3 years (50.8% male). Among them, 14.3% showed a positive history of transfusion before HCV screening and 5.6% reported intravenous drug use (IVDU), with significant differences in these risk factors between men and women. The proportions of patients with chronic hepatitis, liver cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) were 69.5%, 18.9%, and 11.5%, respectively. The mean alanine aminotransaminase level was within the upper normal limit at 49.9%, and the major genotypes were 1b (48.2%) and 2 (46.4%). The overall treatment rate was 53.8%, showing a rapid transition from interferon-based therapy to DAA therapy. In the post-DAA-approval era, the untreated group was older, had a higher prevalence of HCC, and had less education than the treated group. Conclusions: More than 90% of CHC patients were over 40 years old, the major genotypes were 1b and 2, and IVDU was observed in less than 6% of CHC patients. Approximately half of the patients underwent antiviral therapy even in the DAA era, showing an unmet need with regard to HCV elimination.
Alteration of Apoptosis during Differentiation in Human Dental Pulp-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cell

Because mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) maintain distinct capacities with respect to self-renewal, differentiation ability and immunomodulatory function, they have been highly considered as the therapeutic agents for cell-based clinical application. Of particular, differentiation condition alters characteristics of MSCs, including cellular morphology, expression of gene/protein and cell surface molecule, immunological property and apoptosis. However, the previous results for differentiation-related apoptosis in MSCs have still remained controversial due to varied outcomes. Therefore, the present study aimed to disclose periodical alterations of pro- and anti-apoptosis in MSCs under differentiation inductions. The human dental pulp-derived MSCs (DP-MSCs) were differentiated into adipocytes and osteoblasts during early (1 week), middle (2 weeks) and late (3 weeks) stages, and were investigated on their apoptosis-related changes by Annexin V assay, qRT-PCR and western blotting. The ratio of apoptotic cell population was significantly (p < 0.05) elevated during the early to middle stages of differentiations but recovered up to the similar level of undifferentiated state at the late stage of differentiation. In the expression of mRNA and protein, whereas expressions of pro-apoptosis-related makers (BAX and BAK) were not altered in any kind and duration of differentiation inductions, anti-apoptosis marker (BCL2) was significantly (p < 0.05) elevated even at the early stage of differentiations. The recovery of apoptotic cell population at the late stage of differentiation is expected to be associated with the response by elevation of anti-apoptotic molecules. The present study may contribute on understanding for cellular mechanism in differentiation of MSCs and provide background data in clinical application of MSCs in the animal biotechnology to develop effective and safe therapeutic strategy.

Background/Aims: Colonoscopic polypectomy effectively prevent colorectal cancer. Recent studies have shown that advanced histology including carcinoma was found in 10.1% of small (5-10 mm) adenoma. Thus, accurate evaluation of small polyp histology is paramount in decision-making process. The aim of this study was to assess and compare the histologic quality of polyps obtained by snare polypectomy using two different electric current. Methods: Consecutive polyps less than 1 cm were identified and removed by using either blended mode (Circon, BC-200) or automatic cutting and coagulation mode (Endocut Q mode, affect 3, 40 watt, Erbe, VAIO-300). An experienced gastrointestinal pathologist evaluated the specimens for cautery damage(amount and degree), margin evaluability, architecture, presence of muscularis mucosa and general histologic quality. Results: Sixty-seven patients (76% men, mean age 59.9±9.7) underwent 111 polypectomies (54 using blended mode and 57 using Endocut Q mode, mean diameter 0.88±0.17 mm). Age, gender, location, diameter, histology of polyp was not different in both group. Cautery amount (more than moderate severity) was higher in polyp resected using blended mode (51%) than Endocut Q mode (50%) but this difference did not reach statistical significance. Also, we found that the cautery degree, margin evaluability, architecture, presence of muscular mucosa, overall histologic quality was not different in both group (p>0.05). Conclusions: Histologic quality of polyps less than 1 cm by using either blended mode or Endocut Q mode was not different. Further study is needed to evaluate the correlation between size of polyp and histologic quality.
Scanning electron microscopy of filiform papillae development in Korean native goats (Capra hircus)

The aim of this study was to investigate morphological development of filiform papillae (FP) in Korean native goats by using scanning electron microscopy. Tongues were removed from goat fetuses (days 60, 90, and 120), neonates, and juveniles (days 30, 60, 90, 120, 150, and 180 after birth). During the prenatal period, primordia of FP appeared at fetal day 60 and were observed to be developed at day 90. At fetal day 120, the FP were observed like flower leaves of a double flower bud. In neonates, FP were shaped like an obliquely sectioned cylinder with secondary papillae irregularly arranged in a saw blade-like manner. In 60-day-old juvenile goats, the FP were densely distributed at the inner base of 1/3-1/2 degrees. In 90-, 120-, and 150-day-old goats, FP were compacted at the inner base of 1/2-2/3, 3/4, and 4/5 degrees, respectively. In 180-day-old goats, FP were found to be completely compacted on the inner surface with complete morphogenesis. Microridges, microplicae, and micropits were well-developed on the epithelial surface of lingual papillae from embryonic day 120 to juvenile day 180. These results indicate that FP of goats have different shapes and sizes during development both before and after birth.
