9-12%Cr steel are getting increasing attention for expanded application as high temperature materials applicable for gas turbine compressors, steam turbine rotors, blade and casing. For efficient and extensive application of 9-12%Cr steel, the data in addition to the improvement of mechanical properties on the correlation of microstructural evolution and mechanical properties are inevitable and thus the investigation in this study is performed for the determination for the specimens heat-treated at 600, 650 and 700℃ for 1000, 3000 and 5000hrs. The microstructure of as-received specimen was tempered martensite, with a high dislocation density and secondary phases. Upon high temperature heat-treatment, the martensite lath got larger and dislocation density decreased resulting the reduction of the strength. In addition, sharp growth of secondary phases was observed in the specimen heat-treated at 700℃ for 5000hrs. A specimen aged at 600℃ and 650℃ Laves phase was observed. The hardness showed close relationship with the secondary phase particle and dislocation density.
발광다이오드를 이용한 광질과 일장조절이 '딕시 화이트' 미니 시클라멘의 개화와 생장에 미치는 영향

The study was conducted to investigate the effect of different light qualities and day lengths controlled by using Light-Emitting Diode (LED) of blue, red, or blue plus red provided by LED System on flowering and growth of F1 Cyclamen miniature. Cyclamen persicum 'Dixie White' seedlings which have raised for 170 days after sowing were grown under conditions of 20° C air temperature and 60% relative humidity. Day length was controlled by blue, re, or blue plus red light (1:1 in energy ratio) with 10 or 12 hr for 63 days. Photosynthetic photon flux in the treatments with 10 or 12 hr was about 100 or 83 μmol m-2 s-1, respectively. Fluorescent lamp treatment of 12 hr day length was considered as a control. Flowering and growth in all the treatments were significantly affected by light quality or day length tested in the experiment. Number of flowers, which opened above the leaf canopy, was higher in red light treatment with 10 hr day length than that in control. Days to flowering were the shortest in day length treatment of 10 hr per day with blue plus red light among the treatments. Blooming period was also the longest in red treatment regardless of day length and mixture light treatment, and thus above 20 days prolonged than that in control. Otherwise, number of unfolded leaves or net photosynthetic rate was not significantly affected by the different light qualities and day lengths.
몇가지 작물중 침투성 살충제 Carbofuran의 잔류량 분석

In order to ascertain the safety of the systemic insecticide carbofuran - treated crops. garlic, peanut and potato were collected randomly from markets near the major producing farms and analyzed for the residues of carbofuran and its main metabolite, 3-hydroxycarbofuran. The in vitro metabolism of carbofuran in phosphate buffer extracts of the crops was investigated. The results obtained were as follows. 1.The recoveries of carbofuran and 3- hydroxycarbofuran from the spiked samples were 92~ 100% in all samples. The detection limit and minimum amount of carbofuran detected were 0.02ppm and 0.1ng, and those of 3-hydroxycarbofuran 0.06ppm and 0.3ng, respectively. 2.Two mature garlic samples out of 20 contained 0.13 and 0.07ppm of carbofuran, respectively, showing a detection frequancy of 10%. The residue level was less than the maximum residue limit(0.5ppm) set by the health authorities in Korea. Only one mature garlic sample out of 20 contained 0.13ppm of 3-hydroxycarbofuran. 3.The residues of carbofuran and 3-hydroxycarbofuran in the immature garlic, peanut and potato samples were less than the detection limits. 4.The application of carbofuran to the fields of garlic, peanut and potato would be safe, considering that the estimated maximum acceptable daily intake of carbofuran from garlic was 0.0007mg which is 0.13% of the maximum acceptable daily intake(0.55mg) . 5.Carbofuran was hydrolyzed in vitro mainly to carbofuran phenol(m/z 164) in phosphate buffer extracts of the three crops in contrast to the major oxidative metabolism in situ. The amount of the metabolite increased with the incubation time.
요 검사용 스트립의 분광학적 분석을 위한 Computer Simulation

The spectroscopic properties of 9 pads in a urine strip were studied to develop a urine analysis system. From the present work, we determined the wavelength range which could accurately distinguish the degrees of 9 test items. A computer simulation was performed to distinguish the primary color reaction in the urine strips by using the reflectance of the urine strips, the iuminous intensity of light-emitting diodes, and the spectral sensitivity of photodiodes. The simulation results agree well with the experimental results obtained by using a UV-Visible spectrophotometer.

Background/Aims Biofeedback therapy (BFT) can be unsuccessful in constipated patients, even those with pelvic floor dysfunction. Electrical stimulation therapy (EST) has been introduced as a novel therapeutic modality in patients with chronic constipation, especially those who have rectal hyposensitivity. We evaluated the efficacy of EST based on five years` clinical experience. Methods From January 2002 to February 2007, 159 patients underwent EST. After exclusion of 12 drop-outs, 147 (M:F = 61:86, 49 ± 17 years) finished all treatment sessions. Among them, 88 (M:F = 29:59, 49 ± 17 years) were refractory to BFT without rectal hyposensitivity (RH), and 59 (M:F = 32:27, 54 ± 17 years) were those with RH. Results The overall response to EST was 59.2% (87/147) by per-protocol analysis. In the EST-responsive group, overall satisfaction im - proved significantly (from 7.3 ± 3.0 to 4.3 ± 2.5, P< 0.05). Subgroup analysis showed that the response rate was 64.8% (57/88) in patients refractory to BFT without RH, and 50.8 % (30/59) in those with RH. Conclusions EST may have additional therapeutic efficacy in patients who are refractory to BFT. EST may also be effective in patients with RH, including restoration of rectal sensation. Therefore, EST could be considered as an alternative choice in patients refractory to BFT and with or without RH. (J Neurogastroenterol Motil 2013; 19:366-373)

BACKGROUND: Measurement equipment was developed for inorganic nutrient concentration inside the hydroponic culture medium with several macro- and micro compositions, and applied for measuring the compositions of conventional medium. METHODS AND RESULTS: Before the equipment development, sonicator and heater were utilized to control temperature around of the module mixing with color reagents and target samples among the inorganic compositions. The measurement module and multi-sampler were also manufactured based on the COMS (Complementary Metal- Oxide Semiconductor) and installed inside the measurement equipment. Concentration of standard solution, value measured by the equipment, standard deviation or measured average value were used for estimating the accuracy and average recall of the equipment. Yamazaki solutions with EC of 0.5, 1.5, and 2.5 dS/m were offered to confirm the equipment accuracy and standard error. CONCLUSION: It was suggested that the developed equipment could be automatically applied for measurement with accuracy of over 96% and standard errors of less than 5% on 12 macro- and micro compositions such as a NO<sub>3</sub>-N, PO<sub>4</sub> <sup>3-</sup> or Fe.
냉동 고등어(Scomber japonicus)의 유통 온도 관리를 위한 Time-temperature Indicator 개발

We developed a time-temperature indicator (TTI) that rapidly determines whether frozen mackerel Scomber japonicus has thawed during its distribution. Our TTI was made from filter paper capable of absorbing mackerel exudate that was soaked in a 20% citric acid solution at pH 4.0 and then dried. The dried absorbent paper was cut and attached to blue litmus paper with a 2 mm overhang. The fixed litmus paper was covered with a polypropylene film and sealed. The indicator was placed inside a polyvinyl vacuum package containing the mackerel sample. The vacuum-sealed packaged was frozen at -20℃ for 24 h. After freezing, the color change and time dependence of the indicator were observed at room temperature (25℃) and demonstrated the utility of this TTI for rapidly determining whether frozen mackerel underwent thawing during distribution.

Background/Aims α-Synucleinopathy in the brain is the neuropathological hallmark of Parkinson’s disease (PD). However, the functional impact of α-synucleinopathy in the enteric nervous system remains unknown. We aim to evaluate the association between gastrointestinal (GI) dysfunction and α-synuclein (αSYN) pathology in the stomach and colon of PD patients and controls, as well as to investigate the association between the αSYN pathology in GI tract and future PD risk. Methods A total of 35 PD patients and 52 neurologically intact subjects were enrolled in this study. Endoscopic biopsies were performed, and then immunohistochemical staining for αSYN was performed. All subjects completed the validated Rome III questionnaire for the assessment of GI symptoms. The association between GI symptoms and the αSYN pathology in GI mucosa was evaluated. Incident PD cases were assessed during a median follow-up of 46 months. Results The proportion of self-reported constipation and functional constipation through the Rome III questionnaire was significantly higher in PD patients than in controls (P < 0.001 and P = 0.015). However, no significant association was found between the αSYN pathology in the stomach and colon mucosa and constipation, as well as other GI symptoms including dyspepsia symptoms and abdominal discomfort or pain, regardless of the presence or absence of clinical PD (P > 0.05). No incident PD cases were diagnosed during study period. Conclusions Our present study suggests that the deposition of αSYN in the mucosal enteric nervous system may not be reflected by functional impairment of the affected segment of the gut.
