        어린이 식생활 교육을 위한 만화와 애니메이션의 개발

        The purpose of this study was to develop children-friendly comic books and animation for dietary education of 3rd or 4th grade elementary students. Through a literature review on current dietary problems and dietary education for children, 15 educational themes were chosen on both healthy eating and safe dietary life. Comic books and animation were developed based on the themes by the brainstorming and help of professional animators, and they were applied and evaluated in the field. The developed comic books and animation, with its own characters, proved to be of high quality and effective educational materials for children’s healthy and safe eating. Compared with the reference group, the tested group has shown a significant improvement in dietary knowledge and attitude (p < 0.05). And both parents (level of understanding 4.29, level of interest 4.49, level of usefulness 4.46, level of design satisfaction 3.95 in 5-point Likert scale) and children (level of understanding 4.63, level of interest 4.57, level of usefulness of 1st comic book 4.44, 2nd comic book 4.49, level of design satisfaction 4.06, level of usefulness for knowledge pages 4.22 in 5-point Likert scale) have shown high levels of interests and satisfaction. Therefore, these materials could be utilized as effective educational materials for elementary students in school lunch time, extra-curricular activities, or after school programs

      • 채소류의 조리방법별 비타민 C의 잔존량 비교분석 시험

        In this study, using three different cooking facilities(Vitamin+, conventional non-electric steamer, boiling jar), the effect of cooking method on the degradation of vitamin C will be investigated. Three cooking methods were applied to examine their effects on vitamin C residue. For each batch, 5 vegetables and dumpling were steamed by using Vitamin+, 6 conventionally steamed, 6 boiled and 6 remains raw as a control group. For cabbage, broccoli, spinach, bean sprout, vegetable dumpling and potato, the retention values of vitamin C were 53.30%, 73.07%, 69.48%, 83.93%, 84.17% and 12.53% respectively, when cooked by Vitamin+. On the contrast, the retention was 40.05%, 39.34%, 50.09%, 73.24%, 55.63% and 8.85% respectively, when cooked by conventional steam jar. When the vegetables were boiled for 10 min, the retention was 21.83%, 59.43%, 22.08%, 18.24%, 37.28% and 7.38% respectively. Thus, vitamin C retention in vegetables and processed food(dumpling) cooked by Vitamin+ was significantly higher than cooked by other cooking methods. This implies that Vitamin+ steaming can minimize the vitamin C loss for various vegetables and, even processed food during cooking.

        Streptomyces sp. Y9343이 生産하는 齒面細菌膜 分解酵素의 精製와 特性

        치면세균막을 제거하거나 형성을 억제하여 치아우식증 예방제를 개발할 목적으로 α-1,3 glucanase를 분비하는 새로운 균주로 부터 분리 정제하여 그 특성을 조사하였다. 불용성 glucan을 유일탄소원으로 하는 agar plate를 제조하여 토양으로 부터 α-1,3 glucanase 분비균주를 탐색한 결과 Streptomyces sp. Y9343을 얻었다. 액체배양시 최적 효소생산조건은 탄소원으로 1% soluble starch와 indcer로 0.5% insoluble glucan을 첨가하였을 때 가장 효율적이었다. α-1,3 glucanase는 황산 암모늄 염석, DEAE-CEllulose 이온교환 크로마토그래피, Sephadex G-75 겔 여과 등에 의하여 32.1배까지 정제되었고 수율은 0.53%이었으며, 이 때의 활성도는 7840.9 U/mg protein이었다. 정제된 α-1,3 glucanase를 SDS-PAGE로 분석한 결과, 단일체임을 확인하였으며, 이 때 분자량은 22,500이었다. 효소의 최적 pH는 6.5이었다. 효소의 최저온도는 37℃이었고, 열에 대한 안정성은 70℃ 이상에서 40%~60%의 효소활성이 상실함을 보였다. Detergent의 영향은 SDS에 의해 83%, Tween 20에 의해서는 약 27% 정도의 활성저해를 받았다. 효소활성의 금속이온에 의한 영향은 Co^2+, Mn^2_+에 의해 각각 81.8, 69.7%의 활성의 증가를 보였고 이들의 최적농도는 10mM이었으며, 반면에 Hg^2+에 의해서는 93.9%의 효소활성의 저해를 나타내었다. 또한 초기속도(30분 이내)에 금속이온에 의한 영향이 큰 것으로 나타났다. α-1,3 glucanase의 불용성 glucan에 대한 K_m 값은 2.50mM이었고, V_max는 0.0431 mM/min이었다. α-1,3 glucanase의 기질특이성을 조사한 결과, 반응 30분 후 IG와 soluble starch에는 각각73, 100%의 높은 분해력을 보였으며, raw starch, dextran T-10에 대해서는 낮은 분해력을 보였다. 한편, 인조치면세균막을 S. mutans로부터 시험관 벽에 제조한 후, α-1,3 glucanase를 처리한 결과 2시간 이내에 완전히 분해 제거되는 것을 알 수 있어 강력한 치아우식예방제로 개발될 수 있음을 보여 주었다. Streptococcus mutans has been implicated as primary causative agents of dental caries by insoluble glucan (IG) in human and experimental animals. An attempt was made to search for the α-1,3 glucanase that degrades IG produced by S. mutans. α-1,3 glucanase was detected in the culture supernatant of microorganisms, which are isolated from soils on agar medium containing IG as a sole carbon source. This Streptomyces sp. hydrolysed IG produced by immobilized S. mutans and was named as Y9343. This enzyme required α-1,3 glucan (IG) as an inducer. The optimum conditions for enzyme production were studied. The enzyme was purified by 30~70% (NH_4)_2SO_4 precipitation, anion exchange chromatography on DEAE-cellulose and gel filration on Sepadex G-75. The purified enzyme has a specific activity of 7840.0 U/mg protein giving 32.1-fold purification and final yield of 0.53%. The molecular weight was estimated to be about 22.5 kDa by SDS-PAGE. The optimum pH and temperature for enzyme reactiorr were 6.5 and 37℃, respectively and the enzyme was relatively stable at the temperature below 60℃. The activity of purified enzyme was enhanced by adding Co^2+, Mn^2+, and Mg^2+ into the medium, whereas inhiited by adding Hg^2+, Zn^2+ and SDS. The K_m and V_max value of α-1,3 glucanase for IG were estimated to be 2.50 mM and 0.0431 mM/min, respectively. The thin layer chromatographic analysis of hydrolysates from IG with α-1,3 glucanase showed that glucose was the main product of reaction. This enzyme activity was about 14 times higher than marketing dextranase as preventive agent against artificial dental caries by S. mutans in TH medium including 5% sucrose after 30 minutes.

        It has long been supposed that one can not judge sexes of chickens before they are hatched out. But, it is recently argued by many experts that sexes of chickens can be preidentified through examining the shape of fertilized eggs. This paper challenges this problem by building a fuzzy pattern recognition system which utilizes imaged shape features of fertilized eggs. Our pattern recognition system employs 16 fuzzy rules which are confirmed by human experts. We first computes shape features such as roundness of upper and lower parts of eggs, overall elongatedness of eggs, and relative location of center of gravity from an imaged fertilized egg. The computed feature values are converted into membership values through the fuzzification process. The condition parts of rules involve fuzzy terms which elucidate shape characteristics of eggs. The individual fuzzy terms are concatenated through the local AND operation. The conclusion parts of rules contain fuzzy sets which reflect the degrees of belief on chicken sex. We basically follow the max-min compositional rule of inference, which induces fuzzy sets as an outcome. The defuzzification process then combines resulting fuzzy sets, and produces a final crisp conclusion about chicken sex.

In this paper, we propose image data retrieval method using physical features of frontal image data as characteristic values. Color image of frontal face is applied in experimental domain. An image is composed of objects. Therefore, Used physical information is statement that express mans opinions generally as face is round or face is long.. Also, we proposed image retrieval method browsing by input image or text data.

        응급실에 내원한 환자에서 어지럼증의 원인과 임상양상의 분석

        Background: Recently, The number of patients who have been complaining of the vertigo or dizziness has been increasing due to rapid growth of elderly population and senile disease. The differentiation of dizzy patients is not familiar to most emergency physicians. This study was designed to differentiate true vertigo and to investigate the clinical difference among central vertigo, peripheral vertigo, and other causes of dizziness. Methods: The authors analyzed the cases of 237 dizzy patients who visited the emergency department of Chonnam University Hospital during the recent 2 years. For the base of dizziness, associated past illnesses, severity, nystagmus type, and the causes of central and peripheral vertigo. Results: Female patients were 142(59.9%) and male patients were 95(40.1%). The most common age group was the 6th decade. The origin of dizziness was classified as peripheral cause(25.3%), central cause(32.9%), and others(41.8%). As to nature of the dizziness, the rotatory sense was dominant in peripheral vertigo and the floating sense and blurred vision in central vertigo. Peripheral vertigo was triggered by position change of head and body, and central vertigo by the eye movement. Audiograms I showed that most patients with central vertigo had normal hearing, but 46.7% of thoswith peripheral vertigo had an abnormal hearing disturbance. Nystagmus was more prevalent in peripheral vertigo Conclusion: History taking and physical examination played an important role in the diagnosis of dizzy patients. An important part of the diagnosis of a dizzy patient could be to evaluate the peripheral origin, the central origin and others causes. Because central vertigo may be associated with a significant neurological pathology, spectral radiological studies, including MRI and CT, are mandatory to rule out a devastating brain lesion.

      • 효소고정화막과 반투막성질의 PVA적층막 제조 및 산소센서에서의 특성

        The oxygen electrode of biosensor needs enzyme immobilized membrane and dialysis membrane for measurement of oxygen concentration, which in solution after enzyme reaction with its substrate. The one-layer PVA laminated CTA/PCL membrane was developed for oxygen electrode of biosensor. Enzymes have immobilized on cellulose triacetate/polycarprolactone membrane by CDI method, and laminated with polyvinyl alcohol, aldehyde and acid. This membrane immobilized with glucose oxidase, ascorbate oxidase, pyruvate oxidase and alcohol oxidase by CDI mehod, and PVA laminated CTA/PCL membrane have been tested with various concentration of substrates of enzymes by use of YSI oxygen sensor. Under 5-10mmol substrates become 0.37-0.83μA(r=0.995) currents, and about 56% of glucose oxidase activity was remained after 8 weeks, others were remained very low. SEM shows smooth surface and tightly attached PVA on enzyme immobilized CTA/PCL membrane.

        The purpose of this study is to seek the basic information for the planning of modernized elementary schools in response to the 7th National Curriculum. The results of this study are as follow; 1) A multi-purpose space is put with a corridor beside classrooms as a open classroom, therefore it is increasing to demand that the multi-purpose space should be separated from the classrooms and be closed up with fixed wall, because the property of open space, the use of sound-absorbing powerless finishing materials, scarce furnitures and deficient movable partitions raise noises. In addition, it is required to aid budget for teaching tools and furniture according to supplying multi-purpose space in response to various and particular education method, and it is needed to have mind to use multi-purpose space efficiently. 2) Teachers prefer that teachers' rooms (for a grade unit) are near to classrooms and they require to secure enough space to hold a grade unit meetings. 3) To solve the problems of the method of provision with meals, it is required to research and experiment. For example, I suggest to apply the method of classroom provision to low grade students and apply the method of dining room provision to middle and high grade.
