생물막 반응조에서 돈사폐수의 유기물 특성 및 동력학계수 산정

This research was performed for the fundamental data using a advanced treatment process of piggery wastewater. Characteristics of influent wastewater was divided with various methods in fixed biofilm batch reasctor. Fractons of organic were divided into readily bioderadable soluble COD(Ss), slowly biodegradable COD(Xs), nonbiodegradable soluble COD(S?),and nonbiodegradable suspended COD(X?). Experimental results were summerized as following : i)biodegradable organics fraction in piggery wastewater was asbout 88.1 percent, and fraction of readily biodegrasdable soluble COD was about 66.1 percent. ii)Fractions of nonbiodegradable soluble COD was 11~12 percent, and soluble inert COD by metabolism was producted about 6~8 percent. iii) Active biomass fraction of attached biofilm was about 54.7percent, annd substrate utilization rate and maximum specific growth rate of heterotrophs were 8.315 d and 3.823 d? respectively.

The structure of Ammonium Hydrogen ?? has been determined by X-ray diffraction methods. The crystals are Orthorhombic, space group P2₁2₁2₁, unit cell constants, a=7.848(1)Å, b=11.070(1)Å, c=7.651(2)Å, α=β=γ=90°, V=664.7(2)ų, T=293(2)K, Z=4, ??. The intensity data were collected on an Enarf-Noius CAD-4 Diffractometer with graphite monochromated Cu Ka radiation. The molecular structure was solved by direct method and refined by full-matrix least squares to a final R=6.46% for 759 unique observed ?? reflections and 138 parameters. The molecular have 7 intermolecular hydrogen bonds.

In order to examine the accuracy of intensity method, the fiber orientation distribution of chopped strand reinforced polymeric composites is measured using image processing. Theoretical and experimental results of fiber orientation function are compared with each other for the composites having different fiber content and fiber orientations. An intensity method is used for the experimental investigation and the measured fiber orientation function is compared to the calculated one. The results show that, firstly, the feature of fiber orientation can be represented and identified by the fiber orientation function J measured and theoretical fiber orientation functions, J_(M) and J, respectively and related as J_(M)=0.73J. Secondly, as far as the measuring of fiber orientation is concerned, the intensity method is, in general, found to be quite effective due to its feature of using the intensity difference in the measuring ranges. Finally, the accuracy of the method increases when the fiber with less clash is considered.

An experimental study presents characteristics of combustion in a combustion chamber by port deactivation valve for economy and emissions standards. In order to use combustion properties data, it is necessary to build some data base, which use cylinder pressure sensor, etc. Port deactivation valve has been developed to satisfy requirement of achieving sufficient swirl generation to improve the combustion. A feasibility and necessity of combustion pressure based cylinder spark timing control has been examined. So, this was obtained the Coefficient of Variation(COV) and the mass-burned(MFB). The characteristics of pressure ratio fraction is similar to that of mass-burned fraction. Using the results of the test, the effects of the combustion chamber can be improved combustion stability by port deactivation.

The authors report clinical results of twenty-three traumatic thoracolumbar burst fractures treated by internal fixation with Kaneda device after anterior decompression during recent three years. Thoracolumbar injuries made up 28.9% of total spinal injuries and the burst fractures treated by anterior decompression and stabilization with Kaneda device constituted 19.0% of all spinal injuries. The burst fractures occurred most frequently at the age of twenties and thirties. The main causes of injury were fall and vehicle accident. Superior end-plate fracture type was most common according to the types of burst fracture. The first and the second lumbar vertebrae were frequently involved. No patient showed neurological deterioration after surgery. Conus medullaris lesions in burst fractures of the thoracolumbar junction have a high potentiality for functional recovery because the lesions are not due to discontinuity or severe crush injury but due to simple compression by bony fragments. The Kaneda device offered enough stability to enable early ambulation with good alignment and solid fusion.
거대 청신경초종의 수술치료성적 : 수술전 안면신경전위의 예견 Preoperative Prediction of Facial Nerve Displacement by MRI

A total of 22 patients(13 males and 9 females : mean age 49 years) with large acoustic neurinoma who underwent the retrosigmoid transmeatal approach from May 1993 to May )995 at the Chonnam university Hospital was reviewed retrospectively. The authors investigated the surgical results and accuracy in predicting the direction of displaced facial nerve which was determined by preoperative magnetic resonance(MRI) findings. In all cases the preferred method was the suboccipital transmeatal approach. The direction of displacement of the facial nerve could be predicted by preoperative axial and coronal MRI scans and verified intraoperatively. Gross total removal was performed in 82%, the accuracy rate for facial nerve displacement was 77% and anatomical preservation was accomplished in 82.3% of the totally removed cases. During follow-up good functional outcomes were achieved in 91% and fair in 45%. The authors conclude that such good surgical results can be attributed to advances in microsurgical technique and intraoperative facial monitoring. In addition preoperative prediction of the direction of displaced facial nerves has significantly reduced the incidence of severe facial nerve weakness.
Transthyretin의 Glutathione 자동산화 촉진작용

When reduced glutathione(GSH) was incubated at neutral pH and at 37°, its concentration decreased slowly with formation of oxidized glutathione(GSSG). Autooxidation of GSH was accelerated by Cu^(2+) and Hg^(2+), but not by other common mono-, di-, and tri-valent cations. Transthyretin was found to stimulate autooxidation of GSH in the presence or absence of Cu^(2+) and Hg^(2+). EDTA inhibited perfectly the autooxidation of GSH regardless of the presence of transthyretin. The stimulating activity of transthyretin was maximal at pH 7.0, declining progressively with increase or decrease of pH from 7.0. Sulfhydryl-blocking agents such as p-hydroxymercuribenzoic acid and Nethylmaleimide markedly inhibited the stimulating activity of transthyretin. Transthyretin stimulated autooxidation of other sulfhydryl compounds such as clithiothreitol and cysteine. However, it did not show a significant effect on autooxidation of sulfhydryl group of egg albumin and eye lens proteins. And transthyretin did not cause any oxidative change to thyroxine(T₄), 3, 5, 3Ltri iodo thyronine(T₃) and 3, 3: 5~triiodothpnine(rT₃) bound to it in the presence of GSH and Cu^(2+). The above results suggest that transthyretin may play a role in regulation of oxidized status of sulfhydryl groups in blood plasma and cerebrospinal fluid
고립성 폐 결절로 나타난 경화성 혈관종의 폐엽 절제술에 의한 치험 1예 : A case report

Patient was sixty-eight years old female. She was transferred to our department to resect the solitary pulmonary nodule on right lower lobe. Intraoperative frozen-section revealed bronchioloalveolar carcinoma. So, we performed right lower lobectomy and mediastinal lymph node dissection. Permanent pathologic diagnosis of this patient was sclerosing hemangioma. We report experience of treatment of sclerosing hemagioma presenting solitary pulmonary nodule by lobectomy with the review of literatures.
