고독사 대안으로서의 교회 자크 데리다의 무조건적 환대를 중심으로

노인뿐만 아니라 청년도 고독사하는 시대이다. 꾸준히 늘어나는 고독사 발생은 우리 사회가 그만큼 ‘사회적 고립’이 심한 사회임을 보여준다. 이러한 시대에 교회는 고독사의 대안이 될 수 있는가? 환대(hospitality)는 그 대안을 이루는 데 기여할 수 있는가? 이를 위해 설교는 무엇을 말해야 하며, 누구에게 말해야 하는가? 이와 같은 질문을 출발점으로 삼는 본 연구는 다음과 같이 진행한다. 먼저, 넷플릭스 오리지널 드라마<무브 투 헤븐>(Move to Heaven)이 시사하는 연결 가능 한 사건으로써의 고독사를 살펴본다. 무브 투 헤븐은 기억하기와 애도하기라는 환대의 특성이 무연고 사망자에게 인감의 존엄과 사회적 연결을 제공할 수 있음을 시사한다. 이에 천착하여 자크 데리다(Jacques Derrida)의 무조건적 환대에 나타나는 환대의 조건-장소 만들기와 김현경의 무조건적 환대에 관한 이해, 곧 타자의 영토에 유폐된 이들을 찾아가 절대적 자리를 만들어 주는 일을 방법론으로 삼아 기독교 환대에 관한 선행 연구를 살펴본 다. 기독교 환대를 다루는 연구는 기독교의 환대가 하나님의 자기 비움이란 행동에서 출발 함을 밝힌다. 이 시적 환대는 하나님으로부터 환대받은 이들을 환대에 참여하는 자로 변화 시키며, 기억·애도·침투하기를 수행하게 한다. 따라서 본 연구는 ‘환대가 고독사의 대안을 이루는 데 기여할 수 있는가?’라는 질문에 대해 마태복음20장1-16절을 들어 자비를 베풀고 생명을 살리기 위해 자신을 비우는 하나님 의 환대가 이를 가능하게 하며, 설교는 설교에 참여하는 이가 하나님의 환대에 주목하여야 함을, 설교에 참여하는 시간이 하나님의 환대를 경험하고, 하나님의 환대를 베푸는 자리로 나아가는 사건이 됨으로써 고독사 대안으로 교회를 형성하게 한다고 주장할 것이다. Not only the elderly, but also young people are dying alone. The steadily increasing number of lonely deaths shows that our society is becoming more “socially isolated”. Can the church be an alternative to loneliness in such a time? Can hospitality contribute to this alternative? What should the sermon say and to whom should it be addressed? Taking these questions as a starting point, this study proceeds as follows. First, we examine the history of loneliness as a connective event, as illustrated by the Netflix original drama Move to Heaven. Move to Heaven suggests that the hospitable qualities of remembering and lament can provide seal dignity and social connection to the unrelated dead. Drawing on Jacques Derrida's creation of conditions and places of hospitality in unconditional hospitality and Hyun-Kyung Kim's understanding of unconditional hospitality, which is the act of visiting those who are displaced in the territory of the Other and creating an absolute place for them, as methodologies, this study examines previous research on Christian hospitality. The research on Christian hospitality reveals that Christian hospitality begins with God's act of self-emptying. This poetic hospitality transforms those who receive hospitality from God into those who participate in hospitality, performing the acts of remembering, lamenting, and penetrating. Therefore, in response to the question, “Can hospitality contribute to the formation of an alternative to solitary death?” this study will use Matthew 20:1-16 to argue that God's hospitality of emptying himself in order to show mercy and save lives makes this possible, that sermons call attention to God's hospitality, and that the time spent in a sermon becomes an event in which one experiences God's hospitality and moves into a place of giving God's hospitality, thus forming the church as an alternative to lonely death.

Spatial and Temporal Features of Motor Modules in an individual with Hemiparesis During the Curvilinear Gait: A Pilot Single-Case Study

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate spatial and temporal features of motor control in an individual with hemiparesis during the curvilinear gait (CG) and proposed an exercise guideline. Research design, data and methodology: An individual aged 63 with hemiparesis by stroke disease was participated in the study. Autoencoder (AE) was used to extract four motor modules from eight muscle activities of the paretic leg during CG. After extraction, each module of four modules was operationally defined by numbering from M1 to M4 according to spatial and temporal features and compared with results reported in a previous study. Results: As a result, an individual with hemiparesis had motor module problems related to difficulty of weight acceptance (module 1), compensation for the weakness of ankle plantar flexor (module 2), a spastic synergistic pattern (module 3) and difficulty with transition from the swing to stance phase (module 4) in terms of spatial features. Also, a delayed activation timing of temporal motor module (module 2) related to the forward propulsion during CG was observed. Conclusions: Gait rehabilitation for the stroke will need to consider clinical significances in respect of the deterioration of motor module and provide the tailored approaches for each gait phase.

Wilson’s disease with extensive cortico-subcortical lesions represents a rare pathological condition. We experienced an unusual case of prominent frontal cortico-subcortical lesions in association with epilepsy. One year after decoppering therapy, improvement of extrapyramidal signs was correlated with decrement of the abnormal signals in basal ganglia and thalamus, while atrophic change was apparent. However, the lesions in subcortical white matter indicated the presence of encephalomalacic change. These findings suggest that the prognosis of subcortical white-matter changes can differ from that of basal ganglia changes.

Background : Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the most common malignant neoplasms and is a leading cause of mortality worldwide. Metastasis to the liver is a frequent event in patients with CRC. An essential step in the metastatic cascade is angiogenesis. Methods : This study included 45 patients who underwent a partial colectomy with hepatic resection for CRC with hepatic metastases. Immunohistochemistry was performed using vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)-A, VEGF receptor (VEGFR)-1, VEGFR-2, and CD34 antibodies to examine the relationship between CRC with liver metastases and angiogenesis. Results : CRC showed significantly stronger expression of VEGF-A, VEGFR-1, and VEGFR-2 than liver metastases (p < 0.05). Microvessel density was also higher in CRC than in liver metastases (p < 0.05). Conclusions : Compared with previous studies, we found a higher expression of VEGF-A, VEGFR-1, VEGFR-2, and microvessel density in CRC than in liver metastases, which could be ascribed to a difference in vessel distribution and blood supply in each organ. Given its profuse blood supply and distinct cell populations, the liver might provide a rich milieu for tumor cell growth with less expression of angiogenesis-inducing agents.

A national-cultural information or components of Korean and Russian bank notes texts Lee, Jae-Hyuk In conclusion, the currency of South Korea puts its historic great men and women in the very center, and places and objects deeply related to the men in the central area along with other things such as paintings, screens, and inventions. Russian currency, on the other hand, tends to put stories or situations of national and regional integration in the very center or central area since Russia is a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural society in the Eurasian Continent. Starting from printing Novgorad, the former capital of Russia, on the five ruble note, many representative cities in Russia have emerged in currency designs ranging from Krasnoyarsk, a relatively young city, the two axes of Moscow and Petersbug, and Arkhangelsk and Yaroseulrabeul in the Arctic to Khabarovsk in the Far East. Unlike Korea, as mentioned above, Russia does not focus on historic great persons on the currency design except for two former national leaders Pyotoreu Ⅰ and sage Yaroslavl, but feature monuments representing each region, and architecture such as power plants, statues, theaters, monasteries and churches. While Korea reflects national cultures such as Confucianism, oriental paintings, royal families’ life and pride as a country of advanced science on the currency design, Russia mirrors the following practically or metaphorically on the design: the Russian Orthodox Churches such as Saint Sophia Cathedral, Church of St. John the Baptist, and Solovetsky Monastery; national policies such as developing Siberia, a bridge being built over the Yenisey River, Krasnoyarsk hydroelectric power plant construction, Khabarovsk Bridge, and Khabarovsk Statues; and cultural images such as the Bolshoi Theatre and other artistic performance. In particular, the Russian government has recently put Khabarovsk Statues and Khabarovsk Bridge on the most expensive note, 5000 rubles, showing that the government is trying to expand its national and regional development policies, centered on the European countries, to the Pacific coast with its ‘project of economic and social change 2020’ led by President Putin of Russia.

Effects of Sphingosine-1-Phosphate on Neural Differentiation and Neurite Outgrowth in Neuroblastoma Cells

Sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P) is emerging as a new class of second messenger involved in cellular proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis and is implicated in diverse physiological functions. Despite many studies on the biological functions of S1P,however, little is known about its role in neuronal differentiation. By use of reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction and immunostaining, this study aimed to explore whether S1P can differentiate neuroblastoma cells into neural cells. After incubation with 1 uM or 10 uM S1P, the number of neurite-bearing cells increased. Furthermore, the neuroblastoma cells revealed immunoreactivity for neural-specific markers such as GAP43, NFH, and SYP by immunostaining. The expression of NFH,MAP2, SYP, NeuroD1, and SYT mRNA, which is specific for neurons, was increased as shown by RT-PCR studies. The results of this study suggest that that S1P can induce neuronal differentiation and may be a good candidate for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases.

This thesis is focused on the analysis the Russian translations of The Analects in terms of inter-cultural communication. In Russia, The Confucian Analects to be translated from the 1990ties publically and officially without restrictions. In the fields of contents, we can extract from the various Russian The Analects versions these typical Russian national cultural component like critical intelligent shape in Russian intellectual history and ‘a unuseful person’ which is expressed in 19th Russian literature. And also we can read from the Russian Analects the wanders who are similar to religious wanders in the Russian orthodox church life. Russian readers understand that, in my view, The Analects is a very complicated political book which covers philosophy, etiquettes, ethics, religion, literature and some other spheres and components. Additionally they grasp from their own translations symbols and russian idea that are needed to develop afterwards in pieces.

A Study on Arts and Crafts ideas with Works of William Morris

These days there is a flow of support for returning to design and handcraft, and the arts and crafts ideas of William Morris have an influence until the present over periods. The semanticity and methodology of guild production method supported by William Morris is studied. The foundation that human is in beautiful harmony with nature is on free labor and artistic life. In the organic relationship, the decline of art is understood as general crisis of culture, and human living condition should be changed in order to rouse the human sense of beauty and comprehension of art. Once human labor becomes artistic, the consumption living and local living become artistic as well. And then consumers desire more artistic works, structures, or urban spaces, and the demands for those move artificers to go toward producing more artistic works and structures. That is, the course of succession of art and culture through living is the driving force of social progress. Even if the period when Morris lived and the present are very different, this paper will shows that a large amount of art and culture will be greatly developed in twenty-first century which is ‘the period led by cultural consumers’, and the people directly creating art works will be also increased at the same time, as Alvin Toffler suggested. Furthermore, we can aware through this paper that such the people will rule the world. Finally it reached the period that we must face to ‘making artistic life’ as Morris expected a century ago. According to the result of this paper, we realized the study about Morris will contribute greatly to improve the quality of human life.
