Hydrogen absorption experiments were carried out by the titanium(Ti) sponge for investigating the characteristics of hydrogen absorption. From experimental results, Ti sponges showed the high hydrogen absorption capacity inspite of low reaction temperature. The H/M which mean the capacity of hydrogen absorption was measured 2.0 for Ti sponge in the experimental condition of 25℃. The effects of the reaction temperature, activation conditions, and the presence of helium in the hydrogen were investigated.

Polycrystalline CdS_(1-x)Se_x, thin films were grown on ceramic substrate using a chemical bath deposition method. They ere annealed at various temperature and X-ray diffraction patterns were measured by X-ray diffractometer in order to study CdS_(1-x)Se_x, polycrystal structure using extrapolation method of X-ray diffraction patterns for the CdS. CdSe samples annealed in gas at a 0 it was found hexagonal structure which had the lattice constant a_0=-4.1364Å, c_0=6.7129Å in CdS and a_0=4.3021Å, c_0=7.3021Å in CdSe. respectively. Hall effect on these samples was measured by Van der Pauw method and then studied on carrier density and mobility depending on temperature. We measured also spectral response, sensitivity(γ), maximum allowable power dissipation and response time on these samples.

Two cases of pulmonary disease in a 54 year-old female and a 70 year-old male patient due to Mycobacterium avium-intracellulare complex (MAIC) and a case of pulmonary infection in a 69 year-old male patient due to M fortuitum (MF) were found recently in this institute. All three patients bad a long history of anti-tuberculous chemotherapy because they were initially diagnosed as pulmonary tuberculosis. A 70 year-old male patient infected with MAIC had an unsuccessful chemotherapy history of isoniazid (INH), para-aminosalicylic acid (PAS) and streptomycin (SM) with an incomplete, temporary, symptomatic improvement, for three years since 1964 when he was first diagnosed as pulmonary tuberculosis on physical examination. A 54 year-old female patient infected with MAIC also had an unsuccessful chemotherapy history with the various anti-tuberculous drugs since 1958. Both patients discharged large number of MAIC in their sputum specimens for at least more than one year, but no M tuberculosis at all. A 69 year-old male patient infected with MF was diagnosed as moderately advanced pulmonary tuberculsis in 1977. Combined chemotherapy with INH+PAS+pyrazinamide (PZA) improved his clinical symptoms, however, his chest radiograph was deteriorated again in 1980 one year after he stopped therapy. Therefore he started chemotherapy again with INH+ethionamide (TH)+cycloserine(CS) but no improvement was noticed. MF was cultured from his sputum in August 1983 and he continuously discharged the same baeilli until last examination of January l982. Whether all three patients were initially infected with nontuberculous mycobacteria or complicated with predisposing tuberculosis was not clear because there were no reliable bacteriological Examination records.

In current domestic constriction field, several factors influencing the safety for field workers are various due to the size and complexity of construction works involved. Among the factors, the age is the important one, because the average age of workers is getting older due to the 3D phenomena in construction fields. The safety for workers of all ages is important, but especially safety for the old, is more important. Thus, the fundamental techniques for placement of field workers with adequate safety corresponding to complexity and hard works are investigated through analyzing fatigue and heart rate of individual worker, especially for the old.
TiNi 가 섬유가 TiNi (Co)/Al 형상기억복합재료의 피로균열전파에 미치는 영향

In this paper, TiNiCo/Al shape memory composites were fabricated by powder metallurgy method. TiNi and TiNiCo were used as fiber for reinforcement. To investigate the fatigue crack propagation behavior due to the compressive residual stress which exists in the composites, fatigue test was performed at room temperature and above the inverse transformation temperature A_f of TiNi and TiNiCo shape memory alloy. Results are as follows; At 363 K, both composites have lower fatigue crack propagation rate than pure matrix in the same ΔK area and the fatigue crack propagation of TiNi/Al composite is lower than that of TiNiCo/Al composite.

The objective of this study is to conduct the prevention method using electromyography that is to resist the strain on L5/S1 disc and to measure the heart rate for the prevention of low back pain during lifting. EMG signals and heart rate were analyzed under the condition of fixed vertical factor (20∼80㎝), two horizontal factors (35㎝, 55㎝), and two weight factors (10㎏, 25㎏) 2 times per minute for each lifting task. Eight healthy male workers performed nine-step stretching exercises which were intensified back power at the L5/S1 disc for six months. After completion of the two trials, the results were compared. The results of this analysis show that EMG signals have more an effect on the weight than the horizontal factors similar to those analyzed previous study, and are decreased. Therefore, those exercises presented very efficient. Also, there are not statistically significant differences on the analysis result of heart rate between weight factors.

A CdS single crystal was grown by using sublimation method. Lattice constants, a_o and c_o, obtained by using extrapolation were 4.1318 Å and 6.7122 Å, respectively. The carrier density was ∼10^(23) m^(-3) and the mobility was 2.93X10^(-2) ㎡/V-sec from measured Hall data at room temperature. The mobility has a increasing tendency in proportion to T^½ from 33 K to 150 K and a decreasing tendency in proportion to T^(-2) from 180 K to room temperature. The short wavelength band peak measured from photocurrent was due to intrinsic transition, and the energy value of this peak was equal to the energy band gap of CdS photoconductor.
스퍼터링법으로 제작된 TiO2 박막의 광촉매 특성에 관한 연구

TiO₂ films deposited on glass were prepared by plasma sputtering method. The dependence of structural properties on the deposition conditions and the photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue were investigated. When the oxygen partial pressure was higher than 5%, as-deposited TiO₂ films exhibited an almost amorphous structure under DC plasma condition. A transition at which metallic mode deposition(Ti) changed to dielectric mode deposition(TiO₂), was observed at the 5∼10% oxygen partial pressure under RF plasma condition. The amorphous structure changed to anatase structure by heat treatment at 400℃ for 4 hours. Crystallized anatase structure had a preferred orientation along 〔101〕 direction. For 150 min of photocatalytic degradation, the concentration of methylene blue was reduced by half.

Currently, the consumer pattern is directed to small quantity and high variety these days. World market is led by technological innovations and changes rapidly. To survive in this environment, the raising of small and medium enterprises is highly desirable. In the context of nationwide restructuring, competitive medium and small industries which are in good financial status should lead the nation's economy. But general ignorance of the safety issues could lead to a miss management of this industry in this field. In this study, actual condition and improvement of safety management are as follows; We have to 1) find out the factors which endangers this industry, and set a proper guideline for safety management. 2) encourage safety management of these industries by themselves, and advertise and provide technical support for using PC and internet. 3) set a higher standard of safety issue when accrediting a prospective medium and small industry, and have a firm control of this issue once accredited. 4) supply more governmental financial aids to terms of safety issues for medium and small industries.
