Vol.22 No.6
By reviewing previous studies on consumers' perceived risks, this study defined the risk factors for food purchasing produce on-line and off-line as quality dissatisfaction, pecuniary loss, negative perception of the reference groups, time loss, physical damage and psychological damage, and thereafter comparatively analyzed the perception difference according to genders, age groups, and purchase decision factors. The analysis showed that when considering of perceived risk six-factors, in case of on-line purchases, there are no significant differences, among gender groups and age groups or by their purchase decision factors, in pecuniary loss and negative perception of the reference groups. As for quality dissatisfaction, time loss and psychological damage, however, statistically significant difference was shown among different age groups whereas there are no differences by gender, purchase methods or purchase decision factors. On the other hand, in case of off-line purchase, there are no significant differences in quality dissatisfaction, negative perception, and time loss whereas there are significant differences in pecuniary loss by gender and in psychological damage by purchase methods or purchase decision factors. Analysis on risk factors for on-line and off-line methods of the food purchase indicated that there are no difference in pecuniary loss and physical damage. As for quality dissatisfaction, negative perception and psychological damage, on-line purchases have been shown to have relatively higher risks than off-line ones, except for the time loss risk in which on-line purchases have advantage.
