        「임원십육지(林園十六誌)」에 수록된 어패류의 향약성(鄕藥性)에 관한 연구

        This study was conducted to figure out the nutritional nature of seafoods categorized according to the medicinal effects and the usages introduced in Lim-Won-Sib-Rheuk-Ji, one of the well-known encyclopedias published during the Chosun Dynasty. They were compared with those introduced in other cooking books in order to find out how they were used in the diet of real-life. The seafoods of the book were first categorized into the fish 20, the mollusk 5. the crustacea 4, and the shellfish 7, and reptile according to the biological taxonomy, and then each one was reviewed in terms of the taste and the food-nature. Generally, the fishes has the sweet taste; the crustacea and the shellfish the salty or sour in addition to the sweet taste; none of them were bitter or hot. Most of them had the mild nature; seven of them were regarded as warm; four as cool; one as cold from the standpoint of the traditional medicine. The food-nature of seafoods was closely related with the medicinal effects on the human body. These seafoods were characteristically used in daily dietary life as well as the medical applications; used as the side-dishes rather than the main-dishes. The cooking methods of boiling, steaming, and baking were preferred to drying and stewing. The preservation methods favored were the fermentation, drying and salting. These cooking and preservation methods were believed to reflect the nature of the seafoods to manifest the medicinal effects.

        Conventional sample stacking in capillary electrophoresis requires that anaytes be in a low conductivity matrix. However, the real samples are mostly in high conductivity matrices and incompatible with usual stacking methods. Possibilities of loading the capillary with large volume of dilute anionic analytes in a highly saline sample were investigated. The half of a coated capillary was filled with analytes such as fluorescein sodium salt and fluorescein isothiocyanate isomer I in > 150mM NaCl. When a reverse voltage was applied along the capillary, a baseline separation with efficiency in the order ~ 100,000 was obtained. Several hundred-fold sensitivity enhancements were realized as compared to the normal capillary zone electrophoresis injection. Limits of detection at 500nm were in low nM ranges.

        2광자 공명성 3광자 이온화 과정에서 밀도행렬의 시간에 대한 미적분방정식을 수치해 석적으로 계산하여 기저상태와 2광자 공명 여기상태의 전자밀도 행렬요소 σ??와 σ??,이온화율 P, 그리고 동위원소 선택율 S를 Li과 Sr원자들에 대하여 계산하였고, Rate Approximation에 기초한 준정상해의 결과와 비교하였다. 비교적 큰 동위원소이동 값을 갖는 ??Li와 ??Li의 경우 레이저의 세기가 매우 작은 영역과 큰 여역에서는 P와 s의 수치해의 계산결과와 준정상해법 계산결과는 비교적 잘 맞는 경향을 볼 수 있었으며, ??Sr와 ??Sr의 경우 즉, 동위원소 이동값이 700MH?에 불과한 경우 Li원자보다 민감하여 준정상해법의 결과는 제한적으로 적용됨을 볼 수 있었다. We present results of numerical calculations obtained through solving integro-differential equations for the electron density matrices ?? and?? and the ionization rate P in two-photon resonant three-photon ionization of Li and Sr, as well as the selectivity S for the isotope separation. We also compare our results with the predictions from quasi-stationary solutions based on the rate approximation. Our numerical results for P and S show that the quasi-stationary solutions are valid at very high and very low laser intensities when the isotope shift is large as in the case with 4s of ??Li and ??Li, and that the validity is rather limited in the cases with small isotope shift as in 5p? ?S of ??Sr and ??Sr.

        칼슘 차단제 전신처리가 백서의 임의형 피부판 생존에 미치는 영향

        Skin flap necrosis can be a catastrophe in reconstructive surgery. Many attempts have been made clinically and experimentally to improve the survival in random pattern flaps. As the delay phenomenon theory, that is, vascular smooth muscle relaxation augments the blood flow to the capillary bed of the skin flap, experimental study using the Sprague-Dawley rats performed with the calcium antagonists which cause the dilatation of vascular smooth muscle by blocking the calcium-influx into the cells. Total 100 rats were grouped into control group(10) and 3 experimental groups. Each experimental group was subdivided into pre-operation, post-operation and pre-operation & post-operation group in accordance with the injection period of calcium antatonists, nifedipine and diltiazem. All the experimental groups increased the surviving skin flap area than the control group. This suggests that sustained vasodilatation by the calcium antagonists ia a major factor of flap survival increment. The mean survival area in all experimental groups was significantly greater than that in the control group.

        The purpose of this study was to explore the effects of Taichichuan training on the variables of cognitive-affective states. The subjects of the study consisted of 22G middle aged women in Jeonju areas. The survey methods of this research are the 5 Likert Scale modified the Cognitive Affective States Scale by Yang. Myung-Hwan(1998). The used statistical methods for the data analysis were M. SD. Paired sample T-Test. The results obtained by the appropriate analytic processes were followed. 1. In hedonic enjoyment, Taichichuan training women were lower than non-activity women. 2. In feeling of flow, Taichichuan training women were higher than non-activity women. 3. In self-realization, Taichichuan training women were higher than non-activity women. 4. In self-confidence, Taichichuan training women were higher than non-activity women.

        Biodegradable retinal fixation devices obtain mechnical fixation of the retina with desirable chorioretinal scarring and with the potential for local, sustained release of antimetabolites and steroids to inhibit proliferative vitreoretinopathy. We manufactured a biodegradable retinal tack with barb that was designed in order to prevent intrusion from implantation of retinal tacks. This study was carried to evaluate the efficacy for retinal fixation and the capability for sustained release of drugs with a newly designed biodegradable retinal tack Biodegradable retinal tacks were made of polymers of glycolic acids and were designed with barbs in a shape to prevent the disinsertion. Biodegradale retinal tacks are divided into 3 parts, a conical portion that is inserted into the sclera, a cylinder portion that remains in the vitreous, and a neck portion between the pin and the cylinder. The tapered conical end was manufactured to allow easy insertion through the retina and choroid into the sclera. A cylinder portion was manufactured with a tapered angle that fixes firmly into the orifice of 19 gauge spinal needle. A neck portion, 0.4 mm in diameter, was designed to prevent disinsertion from following implantation of retinal tack. The applicator was a 19 gauge spinal needle and its orifice was prepared to 15°angle to accept the tapered cylinder portion of the retinal tack. The retinal tacks, secured in the needles, were passed through the formed vitreous and inserted into the retina, choroid, and sclera and were released by pushing the internal needle, usually within 2-3mm of the medullary ray of the posterior rabbit retina A retinal tack was placed in each of 8 pigmented rabbit eyes. Slit-lamp biomicroscopy, indirect ophthalmoscopy and fundus photography were performed periodically from 1 day to 8 weeks after surgery. Eight eyes were enucleated and studied by light microscopy at 8 weeks. Biomicroscopic evaluation of the animals revealed edemas adjacent to the retinal surfaces immediately after insertion of the biodegradable retinal tacks in all the animals. These edemas disappeared after 1 week. The first noticeable change in the size of retinal tacks was shown after 2weeks. The size of the retinal tacks gradually got smaller, decreasing to about one-half at 4 weeks and about one-third at 8 weeks. All retinal tacks remained in inserted places without any movement for an 8 week period. On light microscopy, epiretinal proliferations were seen to extend into the vitreous cavity. Cellular capsules that lined the inner aspect of the scleral defect caused by tack insertion were found. However the adjacent retina had a normal cytologic appearance and architecture in all specimens. We manufactured a biodegradable retinal tack that is designed to prevent intrusion from implantation of retinal tacks. All biodegradable retinal tacks reduce in size with time, but no retinal tacks extruded from the inserted place. The newly designed biodegradable retinal tack can be used for retinal fixation and may be used as a vehicle for the introduction of pharmacologic agents to prevent the cellular events that promote proliferative vitreoretinopathy.

        Coating을 시행한 뇌동맥류 파열환자의 예후

        In rare occasions in which aneurysmal neck clipping is nearly impossible, coating is employed. During the period from 1985 to 1992, 312 patients with aneurysm underwent surgery ; aneurysmal neck clipping were performed in 284 cases while coating only in 28. The reasons that coating was required were ; wide and broad neck in 13, perforators arising from the neck in 4, neck tearing during dissection in 3, very friable neck in 2, severe adhesion with surrounding structures in 3, and small aneurysm without enough room for clipping in 3. In twenty-three cases, cotton wisp and bioglue were used as coating materials. In another five cases, the aneurysmal wall was reinforced using Surgicel or Gelfoam. Patients were followed for 24 months on average of all the patients. Four had last contact Six died(4 due to rebleeding and 2 due to pneumonia). Fourteen were good and 4 were moderately disabled. There were no rebleeding incidences during first three months' follow-up after coating. We thus concluded that coating an aneurysm offers some protection from rebleeding, particularly when the rebleeding risk period is over.

        A new device, muscle clamping system was developed to facilitate exact quatifying technique A strabismus surgery, and reduce the risk of complications. The device is composed of a lower fixing body with three jaws and an upper supporting body. They are used to clip an extraocular muscle and fix it to the sclera with a single bite. Superior rectus recession on 16 rabbit eyes were performed with this new device. Conjunctival injection, muscle adhesion strength, and light microscopic findings were examined at 1, 2, 4 and 8 weeks postoperatively. The Conjunctival injection were minimal, adhesion power ranged from 420 to 600 gram gravity, which is sufficient in withstand the normal pull of human extraocular muscle. In microscopic exam, some Inflammatory cells and fibrosis were found. The new device was technically easy, fast, and accurate, so it may be useful in stabismus surgery.

        An improved retinal tack can be used to fix the retina in complicated retinal detachment and proliferative vitreoretinopathy. We used the retinal tack made by biodegradable polyglycolic acid, polylactic acid and copolymers. The tacks with polyglycolic acid were placed in the retina the right eyes of 10 rabbits as group 1, with polylactic-polyglycolic acid copolymers as group 2 in each left eyes. We examined the absorption rates and degree of intraocular inflammation at 1 day, 1, 2, 4, and 8 weeks and compared both eyes. The tacks were absorbed with time in both eyes, but more rapid in copolymers. And there was no inflammation in both eyes. Now, this study will be a base on the drug delivery system in intraocular pharmacological and surgical management.

        In this paper, we have proposed an effective moving objects tracking method based on the motion information in the video sequence. First, we extract the moving objects using the processes of morphological dilation and differential image in the video sequence and then we extract the motion information utilizing the location and orientation of the moving objects in the subsequent images. The motion information is extracted using various statistical measurements, extracting the high-level features from the regions of pixels in the images. The measurements, such a s area, length, perimeter, orientation, elongation, compactness, moments of inertia, are used as the statistical and geometrical descriptors. The principle axes of an object on this features gives the local direction of the object, while the center of gravity gives the center position of the object. The angle between two principal axes of the moving objects in the consecutive images gives the geometrical direction of the moving object, while the displacement of the center of gravity, gives the distance covered by the moving objects. So we have extracted the global motion information using the principal axes and center of gravity. The simulation results on the test images are very good, where either the motion is very slow, or the frame rate is very high.
