The noblemen exiled from Baekje, including Touhon-shunsho, were versatile with a broad range of knowledge and skills in not only military strategies but also in literature, medical science, and the philosophy of yin and yang. Since Touhon-youshun, a descendant of Touhon-shunsho, received the kabane of Asadanomuraji, the Asadanomuraji-shi, whose members ranged from Asadanomuraji-youshun to Asadanomuraji-kanahu, Asadanomuraji-karihu and Asadanomuraji-makiyo, were engaged in various fields in the 8th century, including documentation, accounting, medical science, and fortification on top of their primary mission in literary work. Moreover, they made both public and personal exchanges with the Hujiwara-shi and the Otomo-shi, who were the most highly valued clans throughout the Nara Period, reinforcing the foundation for the Asadanomuraji-shi’s advancement. However, the Asadanomuraji-shi, who were descendants of the noblemen exiled from Baekje, record in ShinsenShojiroku, King Jun of Gojoseon of Baekje as their progenitor. The change of Asadanomuraji-shi’s sisei and progenitor transmission is in line with the findings of the review made of the sisei and ancestral transmission of the noblemen exiled from Baekje. Therefore, it is argued that, after coming to Japan, the noblemen exiled from Baekje, with some variance in time, got transferred into Japanese order of ujikabane, and, while inheriting their origin as the noblemen exiled from Baekje, they also changed their progenitor transmission as being originated from the royal family of Baekje or China or as descendants of the Japanese emperor. This evidence indicates that, though kabane was not specified by law as the standard for the appointment of officials, it remained continuously influential in the officials’ society, just as office and rank served as beneficial elements for descendants by oni-sei. For this reason, the ‘noblemen exiled from Baekje’ created a pedigree to their advantage by changing their own origin with a revised progenitor.

N-nitrosamines can be produced in the process of heating, processing, storage and packaging. Migration specifications for N-nitrosamines exist only for rubber baby bottle nipples, which are regulated by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS). There is no regulation for other food contact substances (FCS) and studies on N-nitrosamines migration from FCS are rather limited. A pilot study showed an increase in N-nitrosamines contents when cooking instant noodles. Thus, the migration from the packaging was suspected and it was necessary to monitor the migration of N-nitrosamines from food packaging materials and to examine the change in N-nitrosamines contents when cooking instant foods. Three N-nitrosamines, NDMA (N-nitrosodimethtlamine), NDEA (N-nitrosodiethylamine), NDBA (N-nitrosodibutylamine), were analyzed in migration test solutions from plastics such as polyethylene, polypropylene and polystyrene, papers and aluminium containers. In all test solutions, N-nitrosamines were detected less than method quantitation limits (MQLs). Food samples were also investigated to ensure that there is no effect from food contact substances when cooking instant foods. In retort sauces such as curry, black soybean sauce and tomato sauce, NDMA concentration was ranged from 0.54 to 3.81 μg/kg, but there were no significant differences between unheated and heated samples. However, the NDMA contents were significantly increased in most of the instant noodle samples tested when cooked (p < 0.05). No effects from the food contact substances or cooking water was observed. Only when the seasoning powder and noodles were cooked together was NDMA detected. Individual components (noodle, seasoning powder or dried vegetable) or other combinations such as noodles and dried vegetables did not generate N-nitrosamines. Therefore, it is speculated that NDMA may be formed from the precursors in noodles and seasoning powders when they are solubilized in a medium of water.

. Purpose To compare the sedation outcome according to the dose of per os chloral hydrate in children who underwent laceration repair in the emergency department (ED). Methods This retrospective study was performed to the children who underwent sedation using chloral hydrate for laceration repair in the ED from January 2015 through November 2015. A total of 370 children aged younger than 6 years underwent the sedation. We compared the induction time, duration of sedation, and ED length of stay (EDLOS) between the single dose (50 mg/kg) and additional dose (plus 25 mg/kg) groups. Results Of 370 children, 335 (90.5%) were sedated successfully, 284 (76.8%) were sedated with initial dose (the single dose group), and 51 (13.8%) were sedated with additional dose (the additional dose group). The induction time and EDLOS were longer in the additional dose group (induction time: 31.0 ± 17.2 minutes vs. 96.2 ± 25.4 minutes, P < 0.001; EDLOS: 137.2 ± 35.5 minutes vs. 193.0 ± 36.0 minutes, P < 0.001). The duration of sedation showed no difference between the 2 groups (44.4 ± 24.0 minutes vs. 42.0 ± 20.8 minutes; P = 0.500). No one had serious adverse reactions. Conclusion Additional dose of chloral hydrate can increase the induction time and EDLOS without increasing the duration of sedation and causing serious adverse reactions. This information may improve the efficiency of ED workflow when shared with parents of the children.

東西文部와 大祓

As the place and the official manager for Oharae got systemized on a standing basis with the full structuring of Ritsuryo since the Jinshin­ no­ran, Oharae, which formerly had been a temporary ritual, got settled as annual ceremony from the reign of Jitō­tennō. Connecting Tennō Oharae, which took the specifications of objects and minusa as a medium for Oharae, with Government Officials Oharae, the Annual Oharae then became one of Ritsuryo nation’s national events. For the ritual of YamatoKawachi­no­Humi’s givingOharae­no­TachitoTennōandreadingOharae­no­Kotoba,twoYamatoKawachi­no­Humi’srepresentingYamatoKawachi­no­Hubito were appointed to take charge as shamanistic beings. Since the ancient times, the Huhito had been regarded as more than a mere writer, doing rites for ghosts or gods as a shamanistic being, taking the role of repelling anticipated disasters, when necessary. In this sense, the appointment of YamatoKawachi­no­Humi as an executioner of Oharae is related with the jobs required from a writer, or Huhito, which had been imposed upon them from before the time of Taika­no­Kaishin. Furthermore, Chinese characters are the collection of symbols made in the ancient times, containing shamanistic meanings. This was why YamatoKawachi­no­Humi, defined as shamanistic, read in Chinese the Oharae­no­Kotoba which was written in Chinese. 고대 일본에서 국가적 규모로 시행된 ‘6월과 12월 그믐의 대불’은 持統朝에 ‘恒例大祓’로 정립되었다. 이 ‘항례대불’은 이른바 ‘天皇大祓’과 ‘百官大祓’로 이루어졌다. ‘천황대불’은 中臣의 御(祓)麻 올리기와 東西文部의 祓刀 올리기, 祓詞 읽기 의례로 구성되었고, ‘천황대불’과 ‘백관대불’은 어마를 매개로 전후에 배치되어 도성 내에서 지배자 계급의 정점에 선 천황의 위치를 확인시키는 역할을 수행하였다. 또 ‘천황대불’의 일익을 담당한 동서문부는 大寶令에서 ‘東西史部의 기본을 이룬 동서문부’로 규정된 존재이며 天武朝에 文忌寸이라는 성을 받은 東西文氏를 가리킨다. 이들은 大化改新 이전부터 ‘文人, 書人, 史’라는 직장을 담당한 씨족이다. 더구나 ‘史’는 상고 이래 단순한 기록자가 아니라 巫와 같은 성격을 띤 존재로 필요에 따라 예상되는 재난을 祓除하는 역할도 수행한 것으로 간주된다. 이러한 동서문부의 성격은 『영집해』에 인용된 “무적인 존재가 상스럽지 못한 것을 풀어서 없애는 것이 祓이다.”라는 주석이 의미하는 바와 통한다. 그러므로 동서문부의 대불 의례 수행은 동서문씨의 ‘사’라는 직장이 배경이 된 것이다. 그리고 동서문부가 한문으로 쓴 불사를 漢音(중국어)으로 읽은 것은 한자가 지닌 주술적 의미와 관련이 있다. 따라서 주술능력을 지닌 문자를 소리 내어 읽고 외는 것은 중국어의 능통 여부가 아닌 한자가 지닌 속성에 의거한 것이다. 또 불도는 무가 사용한 祓具에 해당된다. 그러므로 동서문부의 불사 읽기와 불도 올리기는 무적인 존재가 주문을 읽고 도(검)를 올리는 의례가 결합된 것으로 천황의 災厄을 풀어 없애고 帝位를 연장할 목적으로 시행된 것이다.

The Clinical Use of Low-Dose Multidetector Row Computed Tomography for Breast Cancer Patients in the Prone Position

Purpose: To investigate the clinical use of low-dose multidetector row computed tomography (MDCT) for staging of invasive breast cancers with patients in the prone position. Methods: Three hundred twenty-two patients with 334 pathologically-verified breast cancers had low-dose MDCT breast imaging in the prone position for tumor staging before treatment between May 2006 and June 2010. We designed an additional computed tomography table pad with a hole for prone positioning. Patients lay prone on the table pad and the breasts were positioned within the rectangular hole. We obtained dynamic breast imaging from the lower neck to the lung base with the following parameters: 120 kVp, 50 mAs, and 3-mm reconstruction intervals. We evaluated the extent of the primary tumor, lymph nodal status, and distant metastasis in lung or bone, then assessed tumor staging based on the TNM classification of breast cancer. The assessed staging compared to the pathologic results for diagnostic accuracy. Results: Among the 334 invasive breast cancers, the overall diagnostic accuracy of tumor staging was 88.3% and the accuracy values of each tumor stage were 89.6% in T1, 90.8% in T2, 81.0% in T3, and 89.3% in T4. The overall diagnostic accuracy of lymph nodal staging was 86.3% and the accuracy values in each nodal stage were 82.9% in N0, 88.0% in N1, 89.7% in N2, and 93.3% in N3. Based on breast computed tomography scans, we detected distant metastases in 30 cases (7 lungs, 10 bones, 7 lungs and bones, and 6 livers). Conclusion: Lowdose MDCT scanning for invasive breast cancer patients in the prone position is a feasible imaging technique for tumor staging before treatment to evaluate primary breast tumors, lymph nodes, lungs, or thoracic bones with reduced radiation doses.

고대 日本의 신지식 전수 방식의 변화와 특징 ―大學寮의 성립 과정을 중심으로―

Regulating Natural Lighting and Ventilation of Residential Buildings in Hong Kong Policy Implications for High-rise, High-density Housing Environments in South Korea

This study discusses the features of the lighting and ventilation regulations for residential buildings in Hong Kong. Given the compact built environment and public concerns about the environmental quality of housing, various lighting and ventilation regulations have been enacted in Hong Kong. The application of building regulations on the micro scale and incentive systems on the macro scale are present, and the governments’ calls for more active participation of the private sector and use of the building environmental assessment tools were also noted. Unlike South Korea, however, Hong Kong was found to adopt more performance-based standards, consider the external factors of the lighting and ventilation conditions together with the indoor elements, and provide specific design guidelines. Notwithstanding the different climatic conditions and socio-political contexts of Hong Kong and South Korea, these findings provide some policy implications for the South Korean government in its efforts to achieve a healthy environment for high-rise, high-density housing. It is suggested that the South Korean government adopt more on-site measurement methods to reflect the environmental conditions accurately and broaden the scope and scale of the implementation of the lighting and ventilation regulations with more specific, practical planning and design guidelines.
