In the present study, brown rice was steeped in 20 % wettable powder fludioxonil for 24 h, subsequently germinated, and transplanted in paddy fields. The harvested rice was tested at 156 days to detect residue levels using gas chromatography-nitrogen phosphorus detector. Validation was carried out to assess the following parameters: linearity, limit of detection and limit of quantitation (LOQ), recovery, and storage stability. Using matrix-matched calibrations, the determination coefficients were [0.999 in both matrices. Mean recoveries were 73.5–101.0 % with relative standard deviations\10 % in both matrices. The LOQ (0.006 mg/kg) was lower than the maximum residue limit (MRL = 0.02 mg/kg) set by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, Republic of Korea. The developed method was applied successfully, and no residues were detected in field-incurred rice and/or rice straw samples.
자폐스펙트럼 장애를 진단받은 유아의 상호작용을 위한 모-자 미술치료 질적 사례 연구

The purpose of this qualitative case study is to examine the experience of child and mother and the meaning of such experience in the mother-child art therapy for the interaction with a child diagnosed of autism spectrum disorder. For the research, this study examined a 47-month-old boy diagnosed with autism spectrum at the age of 36 months and a 41-year-old mother who is a primary caregiver. The research session included a total of 18 sessions composed of a mother-child program for emotional stability and positive interaction for a child diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder based on Proulx’s art therapy program for parent-child relationship. For the collected data, this study explored the experience and meaning of mother-child art therapy by applying the repeated comparative analysis method. After the research on the experience of the mother and the child, 3 upper categories including ‘Interaction response of a child towards the mother’, ‘Self-expression and pathological behavior by the child’, and ‘Change in attitude and perception of the mother toward the child’ and 13 subcategories were derived. This study holds significance in providing a basic environment that forms a sense of emotional bond and stability between mother and child diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Furthermore, this study clarified the significance of art therapy as an early intervention for enhancing the child’s life adaptation. 본 질적 사례 연구의 목적은 자폐스펙트럼 장애를 진단받은 유아의 상호작용을 위한 모-자 미술치료에서 유아와 어머니는 어떠한 경험을 하고 그 경험의 의미는 무엇인지 살펴보는 데 있다. 연구를 위해 생후 36개월에 자폐스펙트럼 장애를 진단받은 47개월 남아와 남아의 주 양육자인 41세 어머니가 참여하였다. 연구 회기는 총 18회기로, Proulx의 부모-자녀 관계 미술치료 프로그램을 바탕으로 자폐스펙트럼 장애를 진단받은 유아의 정서적인 안정감과 긍정적인 상호작용을 위한 모-자 미술치료 프로그램으로 구성되었다. 수집된 자료는 반복적 비교분석법을 적용하여 모-자 미술치료 경험과 의미를 탐색하였다. 그 결과, 모-자의 경험은 ‘어머니에 대한 유아의 상호작용 반응’, ‘유아의 자기표현 및 병리적인 행동’, ‘유아에 대한 어머니의 태도 및 인식’ 총 3개의 상위 범주와 13개의 하위 범주로 도출되었다. 본 연구는 모-자 미술치료가 자폐스펙트럼 장애를 진단받은 유아와 어머니에게 정서적 유대감과 안정감을 형성할 수 있는 기초 환경을 제공하였으며, 유아의 이후 삶에 적응력을 높이는 조기 개입으로 미술치료의 의의를 밝혔다는데 의의가 있다.
LC-MS/MS를 이용한 축산물 중 Phorate 및 대사산물 5종 동시분석법 개발

A simultaneous official method was developed for the determination of phorate and its metabolites (phorate sulfoxide, phorate sulfone, phorate oxon, phorate oxon sulfoxide, phorate oxon sulfone) in livestock samples. The analytes were quantified and confirmed via liquid chromatograph-tandem mass spectrometer (LC-MS/MS) in positive ion mode using multiple reaction monitoring (MRM). Phorate and its metabolites were extracted from beef and milk samples with acidified acetonitrile (containing 1% acetic acid) and partitioned with anhydrous magnesium sulfate. Then, the extract was purified through primary secondary amine (PSA) and C18 dispersive sorbent. Matrix matched calibration curves were linear over the calibration ranges (0.005-0.5 mg/L) for all the analytes into blank extract with r2 > 0.996. For validation purposes, recovery studies were carried out at three different concentration levels (beef 0.004, 0.04 and 0.2 mg/kg; milk 0.008, 0.04 and 0.2 mg/kg, n=5). The recoveries were within 79.2-113.9% with relative standard deviations (RSDs) less than 19.2% for all analytes. All values were consistent with the criteria ranges requested in the Codex guidelines. The limit of quantification was quite lower than the maximum residue limit (MRL) set by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (0.05 mg/kg). The proposed analytical method was accurate, effective and sensitive for phorate and its metabolites determination and it will be used to as an official analytical method in Korea.
GC-ECD를 이용한 농산물 중 제초제 aclonifen의 공정분석법 확립

BACKGROUND: Aclonifen is used as a systemic and selective herbicide to control a wide spectrum broad-leaf weeds by inhibition carotenoid biosynthesis, and then its MRLs(Maximum Residue Limits) will be determined in onion and garlic. In this study, a new official method was developed for aclonifen determination in agricultural products to routinely inspect the violation of MRL as well as to evaluate the terminal residue level. METHODS AND RESULTS: Aclonifen was extracted from crop samples with acetone and the extract was partitioned with dichloromethane and then purified by silica solid phase extraction(SPE) cartridge. The purified samples were detected GC using an ECD detector. Limits of detection(LOD) was 0.001 mg/kg and quantification(LOQ) was 0.005 mg/kg, respectively. For validation purposes, recovery studies were carried out at three different concentration levels (LOQ, 10×LOQ, 50×LOQ, n=5). Therecoveries were ranged from 74.3 to 95.0% with relative standard deviations(RSDs) of less than 8%. All values were consistent with the criteria ranges requested in the Codex guidelines(CAC/GL 40). CONCLUSION: The proposed analytical method was accurate, effective and sensitive for aclonifen determination and it will be used to as an official method in Korea.
Effect of Electrocauterization on the Inflammation of the Conjunctiva in Experimental Animal Model

Purpose: Recently, conjunctivochalasis repair surgery using electrocauterization has been gaining popularity. However, patients with electrocauterized conjunctivoplasty tend to complain of more postoperative pain than patients undergoing simple excision with suturing. Therefore, we investigated the effects of electrocauterization on inflammation of the conjunctiva using an experimental animal model and compared these with the effects of simple excision with suturing. Methods: Ten New Zealand white rabbits underwent cauterization in the right eyes and excision and suturing in the left eyes. For each eye, we excised or electrocauterized the inferior bulbar conjunctiva, 1 mm in width and 6 mm in length, 2 mm from the limbus. A fine-needle electrode was inserted subconjunctivally, and electrocauterization was performed. In the contralateral eye, the corresponding area was excised and reapproximated with 10-0 nylon sutures. Sutures were removed after 14 days. Tissue samples were obtained at 21 days post-procedure, and inflammatory cells were counted in five randomly selected fields (×200) on hematoxylin-eosin stained slides. Tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α and interleukin (IL)-1β concentrations in tears were measured using enzyme linked immunosorbent assays. Results: All cauterized eyes demonstrated smooth surface healing without scarring after 5 days, whereas sutured eyes presented with mild edema with some scarring until the suture was removed. The number of inflammatory cells was significantly greater in sutured eyes compared with cauterized eyes (p = 0.035, Mann-Whitney U-test) at 21 days post-procedure. Tear TNF-α and IL-1β concentrations at 21 days were similar in both groups. Conclusions: Electrocauterization for conjunctivoplasty seems to be advantageous in terms of inflammation compared with simple suturing and excision.
