        The effect of rooming-in care on the emotional stability of newborn infants

        Purpose : We aimed to examine the effect of rooming-in care on newborn infants emotional stability by comparing them with those cared for in a nursery. Methods : Forty-eight full-term newborn infants born at Cheil General Hospital between July 1 and October 31, 2007, were enrolled. Twenty-four newborn infants were roomed-in in their mothers rooms (rooming-in group), and 24 newborns were cared for in the hospital nursery (the nursery group) for the first 3 days of their lives. Those with perinatal problems that required medical treatment were excluded. By using Brazeltons neonatal behavior assessment scale, we measured irritability and self-quieting as well as the duration of crying after heel-stick puncture for the newborn metabolic screening test. Results : The rooming-in group had a higher irritability score than the nursery group (6.8±1.7 vs. 4.2±2.1, P<0.001), thereby suggesting stable behavior against external irritation; the former also had a higher self-quieting activity score (5.9±0.3 vs. 4.5±1.8, P=0.001), thereby suggesting that stability was reached quickly from the irritated state. Time taken to stop crying after the heel-stick puncture was significantly shorter in the rooming-in group than in the nursery group (17±15.1 seconds vs. 115.3±98.5 seconds, P<0.001). Conclusion : These results show that newborn infants in the rooming-in group exhibit more stable behavior against external irritation and can be stabilized from an irritated state more quickly than infants cared for in the nursery, even after a few days of rooming-in care.         현대소설에 나타난 다방의 심리지리

        Psycho-geography is a branch of geography to study the influence which a natural geographic environment has on a human's feeling and action. It is able to make good ways for a formation of an active memory as well as a type of recollection to look into some spatial memory because conception of psycho-geography concentrates a keen interest in a spatial atmosphere. Therefore, it is connected to working to reconstruct a custom or a cultural history in those days to trace the psycho-geography to cast a reflection on works. We can know to imply a further abundant meaning for [the tea room] in a novel if we give attention to the above point. A spatial position to be implied for [the tea room] is a good rough sketch capable of explication to the human inner thoughts and conditions in those days beyond meaning as a mere teahouse from the beginning. This treatise found out on meaning through the changeful aspects of a tea room to appear in the Korean novels. The tea rooms appears to function as the aspects changed every times in the novels. The tea rooms as an agitating position of cultural artists in the beginning and those at refuge-place in Pusan during a refuge life of the war served as a cultural tea-room realistically. Also, many artists reposed themselves there and they directly wrote a novel. The tea rooms since 1960's have gradually showed the aspects transformed as a commercial space. In that place, the people spent teas and musics, and did their job. It is because the tea rooms have to meet the demands of the times with the changes of the times in accordance with a great boom in industry. Now, it is not a romantic space that the tea rooms spout out a cultural aroma no more. But, it is difficult to find even a scene of such a tea room recently. The term of “a tea room” became a dead language without quite realizing it and it has been nearly difficult to find the term of “a tea room” in the novels since 1990's. Now, the tea rooms are not a fascinated space as novelists no more. For a while, the tea rooms which functioned as one of harmony with an exotic atmosphere as well as the symbol of modernization resulted in the objet disappeared from the Korean novels due to cause crushed with weight of times.

        중소형아파트 평면 분석을 통한 알파룸 공간 구성 연구

        최근 아파트 시장에서 트렌드로 주목받고 있는 알파룸의 존재는 맘스오피스, 홈오피스 등 기존의 주거공간의 기능과 구분되는 새로운 공간 개념을 창출하고 있다. 이는 자투리 공간을 모아 하나의 방을 더하였다는 의미를 넘어, 해마다 증가하는 여가와 취미생활에 대한 관심과 갈증을 해소하는 공간으로 거듭나고 있다. 초기에 작은 자투리 공간에 그치던 알파룸은 이제 온전한 방의 규모로 진화하였으며, 건설사가 제공하는 다양한 옵션을 통해 주거공간을 풍요롭게 하는 공간으로 자리잡고 있다. 본 연구는 최근의 중소형 아파트의 알파룸 공간을 조사하고 다양한 활용방안을 체계적으로 유형화하고자 한다. 이를 통해 효과적인 공간구성 방향을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 위한 연구의 진행 순서는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 국내 중소형 아파트 평면자료를 조사하였다. 둘째, 조사된 자료를 바탕으로 알파룸의 위치와 공간구성 형식을 기준으로 분석하였다. 셋째, 분석을 바탕으로 알파룸 공간을 유형화하였다. 본 연구는 우선적으로 현대 주거문화와 라이프스타일과 연계하여 알파룸에 대한 개념을 정의하였고, 알파룸 공간형식을 유형화하기 위해 최근 5년내 지어진 아파트 평면을 조사하여 알파룸의 공간 면적과 형태, 구조, 인접한 공간에 대하여 분석하였다. 이를 토대로 인접공간과의 연계 및 거주자들의 니즈를 반영하여 알파룸을 활용 방안을 분석하였다. 알파룸 공간구성 연구의 결론은 다음과 같다. 알파룸 공간 구성의 기본 방향은 첫째, 아파트 평면마다 규모와 형태가 다른 알파룸 구성을 가능하도록 해야 한다. 둘째, 옵션화를 통해 세대마다 다른 공간 활용에 세부적인 확장 가능성을 부여해야 한다. 셋째, 가변성을 통해 알파룸이 가지는 중간적 공간 특성에 따른 범용성을 확보해야 한다. The existence of the alpha room which is getting attention as a trend in recent apartment market is creating a new space concept as distinct from the existing residential spaces such as mom’s office, home office, etc. It is renewing a space to satisfy the interest and thirst for leisure and hobby activities increasing year after year beyond the simple meaning of adding an extra room as gathering space spaces. The alpha room which was only a small spare space in the beginning has evolved in a size of a complete room, and is becoming a space that makes the residential space abundant through the various options offered by the construction companies. Accordingly, this research aims to examine the alpha room spaces of the recent small and medium apartments and systematically set the typologies regarding various application ways. Through this, the effective standards for the space arrangement are to be suggested. To this end, the research process was carried out as below. First, the floor plans of the domestic small and medium apartments were examined. Second, it was analyzed by the placement and space arrangement of alpha room based on the researched materials. Third, the typologies of alpha room spaces were established in reference to the analysis. This research firstly defined the concept of alpha room in connection with the contemporary housing culture and lifestyle, researched the floor plans of the apartments which were built within five years to set the typologies of the alpha room space, and analyzed the area, shape, structure and adjacent space of alpha room. According to the findings, the ways to utilize alpha room was analyzed as relating to the adjacent space and reflecting the needs of the residents. The research results on the study of alpha room space arrangement is as follows. The basic direction for the alpha room space composition is that, first of all, it should be in modules so as to apply in spaces of different sizes and forms inapartment floor plans. Second, it should provide the possibility to expand the space in detail with varying options for different generations to use. Third, it should secure the versatility through changeability according to the properties of alpha room as an intermediate space.

        미국 대학도서관의 그룹스터디룸 이용자 만족도에 관한 연구

        (연구배경 및 목적) 2000년대 이후, 대학도서관은 대학교육의 방향이 일방적 지식전달에서 벗어나 학생들 간 상호작용을 통한 협력학습이 강조되고 있으며, 새로운 동료를 만나거나 관심 분야에 대해 토론을 하며 지식을 공유하고 새로운 창조를 위한 학습공간으로 변화를 하고 있다. 이러한 변화에 따라서 학생들의 상호학습 공간으로 그룹스터디룸(Group Study Room)이 주목을 받고 있다. 이에 국내 대학들은 도서관 리모델링 및 신축을 통해 이용자들이 공동적으로 학습할 수 있는 그룹스터디룸(group study room)이나 세미나룸(seminar room)을 조성함으로써 정보공유공간을 조성하여 사회의 환경을 반영하여 왔다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 그룹스터디룸에 대한 연구를 실시하고자 그룹스터디가 활발히 이뤄지고 있는 미국 대학도서관의 그룹스터디룸에 대한 이용실태와 만족도를 조사하여 이용실태를 파악함으로써 향후 국내 각 대학들이 대학도서관의 그룹스터디룸 조성 및 리모델링 시 참고가 될 수 있는 기초 자료를 제공하고자 한다. (연구방법) 첫째, 선행연구를 통한 그룹스터디룸의 개념에 대해 조사를 하였다. 둘째, 미국 아이다호주(Idaho state)에 위치하고 있는 N대학교를 선정하여 도면 및 미국 현지조사를 실시하여 각 그룹스터디룸의 운영실태 및 현황을 파악하였다. 셋째, 이용자 설문을 통하여 그룹스터디룸의 만족도를 조사하였다. (결과) 첫째, 도서관이용에 관해서는 도서관 위치(4.59점)에서 만족도가 제일 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 응답자의 절반이 넘는 54.6%의 학생이 일주일에 최소 2회 이상 이용하는 것으로 나타나서 학생들이 자주 이용하는 것을 알 수 있다. 셋째, 그룹스터디룸의 일반정보에 대해서는 전반적으로 만족도가 높게 나타났다. 넷째, 그룹스터디룸 실내환경에 대해서는 조도, 마감재료, 실내색상, 실내공기질, 방음 등 대체로 높은 만족도를 보였다. 다섯째, 그룹스터디룸 시설의 경우, 모든 항목에서 골고루 높은 만족도를 나타냈다. 여섯째, 각 모집단별 평균비교의 결과 남학생(평균 4.07점)보다는 여학생(평균 4.31점)의 만족도가 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 1학년(평균 4.41점)의 만족도가 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다. (결론) 본 연구를 통해 미국대학생들이 다양한 토론학습을 위하여 그룹스터디룸에 대한 수요가 높은 것으로 밝혀졌다. 그룹스터디룸의 조성은 학생들이 자유로운 토론과 소통을 통하여 상호발전하기 위한 대학도서관 의 핵심공간의 역할을 하고 있다. 따라서 학생들의 학습공간에 대한 지속적인 연구가 필요하며 본 연구가 대학의 학습공간조성에 대한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다. (Background and Purpose) Since the 2000s, the direction of university education has shifted away from unilateral knowledge transfer and emphasized collaborative learning through student interaction, meeting new colleagues or discussing areas of interest, sharing knowledge, and creating new ideas. It is changing into a learning space. Following these changes, the Group Study Room is attracting attention as a space for students to learn mutually. Accordingly, domestic universities have created a group study room or a seminar room where users can collaboratively study through library remodeling and construction, creating information sharing spaces to reflect the social environment. . Therefore, in this study, in order to conduct research on the group study room, each university in Korea will investigate the use condition and satisfaction level of the group study room in a U.S. university library, where group study is actively conducted. It is intended to provide basic data that can be used for reference when creating and remodeling rooms. (Method) First, the concept of a group study room was investigated through prior research. Second, N university located in the state of Idaho, N university in the United States was selected, and drawings and field surveys were conducted in the United States to understand the operating conditions and status of each group study room. Third, the satisfaction level of the group study room was investigated through user questionnaires. (Results) The students rated their satisfaction on a 5-point scale. First, regarding library use, satisfaction was highest in library location (4.59 points). Second, over half of the respondents (54.6%) use it at least twice a week, indicating that students use it frequently. Third, the overall satisfaction with the general information of the group study room was high. Fourth, about the indoor environment of the group study room, overall satisfaction was high, such as illumination, finishing materials, interior color, indoor air quality, and sound insulation. Fifth, in the case of group study room facilities, all items showed high satisfaction. Sixth, as a result of the average comparison of each population, the satisfaction of female students (average 4.31 points) was higher than that of male students (average 4.07 points), and the satisfaction of freshmen (average 4.41 points) was found to be the highest. (Conclusions) Through this study, it was found that US university students have a high demand for group study rooms for various debate learning. The creation of a group study room serves as a core space of university libraries for students to develop mutually through free discussion and communication. Therefore, continuous research on students' learning space is required, and this study is expected to be used as basic data for the creation of learning space in universities.

        신생아간호 운영체계에 대한 산모의 인식과 이용에 따른 차이

        Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare maternal perceptions between two groups of postpartum women, women who chose to have their babies room-in and women who did not (non rooming-in group). Methods: Data collection was conducted in 37 hospitals from August 10 to September 20, 2008. The participants were 209 mothers opting for rooming-in and 128 mothers for non rooming-in. The women completed a questionnaire which included the Edinburgh postpartum depression scale, maternal attachment inventory, and postpartum self-evaluation questionnaire. Results: There were significant differences in education level, income and antenatal education between the rooming-in and non rooming-in groups. The rooming-in group also showed higher levels of satisfaction with medical services. More important, the rate of breast feeding for the rooming-in group was higher than for the non rooming-in group. There was no difference between the two groups for postpartum depression, maternal attachment and mothers' confidence with infant care tasks. Conclusion: These findings suggest that rooming-in system has more advantages compared to non rooming-in and that it can help to promote breast feeding. The authors recommend that the rooming-in system be expanded nationwide. The results of this research can be used to assist the development of future rooming-in system expansion strategy.

        학습 공간으로서 온라인 독서실의 특징에 관한 연구: 중학생의 학습 경험을 중심으로

        Objectives The purpose of this study is to study the characteristics of the online studying room as a learning space focusing on secondary students' learning experiences. In this study, secondary students' learning experiences in the online studying room were analyzed, and based on this, the characteristics of the online studying room as a learning space were derived. Methods The research methods applied in this study were in-depth interviews targeting seven secondary students. In this study, Ecological Systems Theory was selected as an analysis framework for online studying room. Results First, secondary students' learning experiences in the online studying room were as follows. In the early stage of learning, learning in the online studying room as learning start stage, based on personal characteristics of expectations and curiosity for learning, was affected by the macrosystem of the influence of strengthening distance education due to COVID-19, Z culture and the microsystem of the reaction of parents and the reaction of friends. It was found that secondary students started learning in the online studying room in their free time. In the middle stage of learning, learning in the online studying room as learning execution stage, based on personal characteristics of self-control and competition for learning, was affected by the microsystem of the interaction of online studying room function and the interaction of friends. It was found that secondary students continued to learn in the online studying room. In the late stage of learning, learning in the onlinestudying room as learning assessment stage, based on personal characteristics of confidence and self-reflection in learning, was affected by the microsystem of the improvement of learning grades at school and the improvement of learning efficiency in the online studying room. It was found that secondary students formed learning habits in the online studying room. Second, the characteristics of the online studying room as a learning space are as follows. In the early stage of learning, the online studying room appeared as a open learning space selected by socio-cultural context, in the middle stage of learning, a learning space to share reflecting advanced science and technology, and in the late stage of learning, a self-learning space where effective and efficient learning is possible. Conclusions First, policy support is needed for revitalization of online learning space outside of school for secondary school students. Second, it is necessary to establish a social support system of linkage between secondary schools and homes centering on the online learning space outside of school. Third, it is necessary to educate secondary school students about self-directed learning in the online learning space outside of school.

        일 대학 병원 마취 · 회복실 간호사의 간호활동 분석

        Purpose: This study was aimed to specify roles of nurses from the anesthesia and recovery room by analyzing nursing activities as well as anesthesia nursing during surgery. Method: The objects were 12 RNs working in the recovery room of a university hospital located in Incheon. Self-report was performed by measuring stop-watch for five days from May 17th to May 21st in 2004. Research method was designed to record the time and frequency of the nursing activity from anesthesia and recovery room based on nurses' statement and other references for five days. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, ANOVA, and t-test via SPSS Win 10.0 program. Result: Nursing activities in anesthesia recovery room were classified into two different characteristics such as direct and indirect nursing activity. The activities consisted of 11 direct nursing areas and 39 nursing activities in anesthesia preparation room. The indirect nursing was classified into 8 nursing areas and 32 nursing activities. The direct nursing was classified into 12 nursing areas and 55 nursing activity. Also, the indirect nursing was classified into 7 nursing areas and 21 nursing activities in recovery room. In terms of prevalence of nursing activities in the anesthesia preparation room, observation and cooperation of anesthesia was the most prevalent activity, drug and eqipment management the second prevalent, and drug administration the third. On the other hand, in the recovery room, the most prevalent activity was vital sign checking and observation, the second most prevalent activity informative activity, and the third body temperature control. Nursing activity time was recorded according to the nursing characteristics. In the anesthesia preparation room, the direct nursing spent for 8092.20 minutes was larger than the indirect nursing spent for 7198.50 minutes. Also, in the recovery room, the direct nursing spent for 2361.16 minutes was larger than the indirect nursing spent for 1134.13 minutes. 4. Nursing activity time was compared to duty shifts. In the anesthesia preparation room, the direct nursing was more prevalent on day shift and the indirect nursing was prevalent on evening shift. However, in the recovery room, both direct and indirect nursing activities were prevalent on day shift. Conclusion: The role of anesthesia and recovery room nurses was analysed according to the time, frequency, and its characteristics.

        우리나라 국회의원회관내 의원사무실의 실내공간 개선방안에 관한 연구

        The main purpose of this study is to investigate the problems of the assembly members' office room in Korea, compared with foreign cases in advanced countries, and to suggest improvement directions of space allocation for remodeling. The main results of this study are as follows;1. In the present assembly members' office room, it needs to eliminate some unnecessary rooms(washroom, sink room). These rooms are used for only one man, so eliminating these rooms is to eliminate the inefficiency of space plan of assembly members' office room.2. The space obtained by eliminating unnecessary room, should be used for expanding the size of assistant's room. Assistant's room is small considering the number of assistants.3. To ensure efficiency of work activity and environmental quality of assistant's room, it needs to expand the size of the present assembly members' office room and to introduce reception space and meeting room.

        이 논문에서는 임화와 김수영 시에서 ‘거리’와 ‘방’의 공간 표상이 어떻게 나타나고 어떤 의미를 지니는지 살펴보았다. 두 시인의 시에서 모두 세계와 직접 대면하며 무언가를 찾아 헤매거나 새로운 발견이나 각성에 도달할 때 거리라는 공간 표상이 출현하였다. 그런가 하면 좀 더 자신의 내면에 집중할 때 방이라는 공간 표상이 나타났는데, 임화 시에서는 길 위의 방이 자주 출현하는 점이, 김수영 시에서는 타인의 방이 의미 있게 등장하는 점이 눈길을 끌었다. 이 논문에서 임화와 김수영의 시에 나타난 거리와 방의 공간 표상을 살펴봄으로써 도달한 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 임화 시에서 거리는 대개 종로 네거리의 표상으로 등장했다. 시의 주체가 노동운동에 투신하거나 투쟁하는 공간이자 뜻을 함께하는 동지들과 연대해 나가는 공간으로 네거리가 선택되었다. 임화 시의 방은 길 위의 방이라는 속성을 지니는 공간으로 등장함으로써 거리와 대립적 속성을 가진다기보다는 거리에서 추구하던 삶의 방향의 연장선 위에서 청년의 낭만적 의지를 드러내는 공간으로 기능했다. 둘째, 김수영 시에서 거리는 대개 종로 거리의 표상으로 등장했다. 거리는 김수영의 시적 주체에게 생활공간이자 그 너머를 상상하게 하는 공간으로 출현했다. 거리는 절망 속에서도 김수영 시의 주체를 일으켜 세우는 곳이자 새로운 각성을 불러 일으키는 곳이다. 도시의 거리에서 피로를 통해 사랑의 의미를 발견하는 데까지 김수영 시는 나아간다. 방은 김수영 시에서 발견의 공간이자 타인의 방으로 등장해 자기 안의 본질과 마주하게 하는 침잠과 응시의 공간으로 기능하면서 마침내 사랑의 의미를 발견하게 한다. 거리와 방은 개방적이고 폐쇄적이라는 점에서 공간의 속성상 서로 다른 성격을 지니지만, 임화와 김수영 시에서 거리와 방은 서로 독립된 공간이라기보다는 상호 긴밀히 연결된 공간으로 세계와 대면하고 그 체험을 통해 자기를 응시하고 타인과 관계를 맺는 시적 주체의 성장을 가져온다. 이들의 시가 시대를 훌쩍 뛰어넘어 오늘의 시대와 소통하고 공감하며 보편성을 지니는 이유도 거리와 방을 통해 대면한 세계인식과 자기인식에 기인한다고 할 수 있다. This study set out to investigate the ways that spatial representations of "streets" and "rooms" were depicted in poems by Im Hwa and Kim Soo-young and also their meanings in their respective works. The spatial representation of streets emerged in works of both the poets when one wandered around to find something in his or her direct confrontation with the world or had a new discovery or awakening. In their poems, the spatial representation of rooms appeared when one focused on his or her inner world more. It is noteworthy that a room on the road often in Im's poems and that others' rooms made a significant appearance in Kim's poems. The study examined the spatial representations of streets and rooms in their poems and reached the following conclusions: First, streets appeared as the representation of the Jongno intersection in most cases in Im's poems. Im chose an interaction as a space in which the poetic subject would devote or struggle for a labor movement and form solidarity with like-minded comrades. In his poems, rooms appeared as a space with the attributes of a room on the road. They would function as a space to reveal the romantic nature of youths on the extension of the life direction sought after in streets rather than having a confrontational attribute against streets. Secondly, streets appeared as the representation of the Jongno interaction largely in Kim's works. In his poems, streets were a living place for the poetic subject and also a space that made the poetic subject imagine beyond. Kim's poetic subject would rise and have a new awakening in streets. His poems would go as far as the point where the poetic subject would discover the meanings of love through fatigue in urban streets. In Kim's poems, rooms appeared as the space of discovery and others' rooms. They functions as the space of withdrawal and gazing in which the poetic subject would face his inner nature and finally discover the meanings of love. While streets are open, rooms are closed. They have different characteristics for their different spatial attributes. In Im's and Kim's poems, streets and rooms are closely connected to each other rather than independent spaces. In streets and rooms, the poetic subject would face the world and use the experience to look into himself and form relations with others, thus making growth. The two poets' works still communicate with today beyond the time gap as today's people sympathize with their works that have universality. It is attributed to the perceptions of the world and himself that the poetic subject would face through streets and rooms.
