0.5(PZ-PT)-0.5PNN계 세라믹스에 대한 소결특성과 압전상수의 온도특성

The sinteristics and the temperature dependency of piezoelectric constants of the 0.5(PZ-PT)-0.5 PNN system are investigated as a function of PT. The pyrochlore phase which is detrimental to both the sinteristics and the piezoelectricites, is formed at above 600℃ with the exothermic reaction and is nearly disappeared at about 870℃ with the endothermic reaction. A expansion of the calcined samples due to the formation of the pyrochlore phase materials, but the sintered samples are shrunk about 14% for the forming sample and those are shown a stable perovskite phase. The samples of the morphotropic system(PT=0.65-0.68) have a higher piezoelectric constant, however the temperature dpendency of their piezoelectric constant are bad. The degree of temperature dependency of the piezoelectric constant is shown in the order of morphotropic, rhombohedral and tetragonal phase. From a temperature dependency of piezoelectric constant point of view, PT=0.7 system is suitable for the piezo-actuator materials.
유기질비료 시비량에 따른 오미자 묘목의 초기 생육특성에 관한 연구

This study was carried out to have basic and applied informations to find the optimum nitrogen fertilization level for organic cultivation and to investigate early growth characteristics of Schizandra chinensis Baillon. Different application levels of the organic fertilizer were based on the recommended rate of N fertilizer. Five different levels of the organic fertilizer were applied to S. chinensis and early growth responses such as the length of vine, the diameter of vine, the number of leaves, and the number of branches were investigated. Lengths of main and total vines were shown longer at the level of 1.0 time organic fertilizer than those at others. The vine length at early growth was the highest at the level of 1.0 time organic fertilizer among the treatments. Stem diameter was shown thicker level of 1.0 time organic fertilizer than others on August and September, whereas on October it was the thickest in the conventional cultivation. Number of leaf was increased higher at the level of 1.0 and 2.0 times organic fertilizer than that in the compared to conventional. The number of branches was appeared the lowest at the level of 1.0 time organic fertilizer at early growth, however they were increased through progressing their growth stages. They were not significantly difference among the treatments except for the level of 2.0 times organic fertilizer. Based on the research results, the growth of S. chinensis was commonly higher at the level of 1.0 time organic fertilizer compared to other treatments.

Brassica rapa ssp. campestris (Brassicaceae) isa conical, deep purple, edible root vegetable commonlyknown as a turnip. We initiated phytochemical and pharmacologicalstudies to search for biological active compoundsfrom the roots of B. rapa ssp. campestris. Weisolated a novel phenanthrene derivative, 6-methoxy-1-[10-methoxy-7-(3-methylbut-2-enyl)phenanthren-3-yl]undecane-2,4-dione, named brassicaphenanthrene A (3) alongwith two known diarylheptanoid compounds, 6-paradol (1)and trans-6-shogaol (2), through the repeated silica gel(SiO2), octadecyl silica gel, and Sephadex LH-20 columnchromatography. The chemical structures of the compoundswere determined by spectroscopic data analyses includingnuclear magnetic resonance, mass spectrometry, ultravioletspectroscopy, and infra-red spectroscopy. All compoundsexhibited high inhibitory activity against the growth ofhuman cancer lines, HCT-116, MCF-7, and HeLa, with IC50values ranging from 15.0 to 35.0 lM and against LDL-oxidationwith IC50 values ranging from 2.9 to 7.1 lM.

Generally, the pressure drop for a pipe flow is a function of flow velocity because it is affected by friction factor through a tube surface. In this study, the property relationship between Reynolds number and friction factor was investigated by measuring the liquid flow velocity, which in turn changes the Reynolds number for the system. Friction factor is important property for many applications such as a pipe-flow in oil industries and a water transport line in dessert. Tap water and 10, 20, 30 weight percent sugar solution were used for experiments. The 30 weight percent sugar solution was mainly used to draw a conclusion. As a result, the friction factor shows a following relation: f=85.184 × Re-1.0936. This final correlation can be used for transition region only because it deviates a lot for the other regimes and because we had difficulty in obtaining data points for the other regimes.
원발성 중추신경계 림프종 23예의 치료 결과 분석 : Treatment Result of 23 Cases

The authors report below a clinical study of 23 patients bearing 31 primary central nervous system lymphomas diagnosed between January 1985 and December 1994. The cohort included 13 men and 10 women whose mean age was 46 years, ranging from 28 to 61 years. No patient had antecedent of human immunodeficiency virus postivity but one had a past history of rheumatoid arthritis. The duration of symptom was less than 8 weeks in 52% of the patients. Symptom groups included increased intracranial pressure(78%), focla neurological decificit(52%), neuropsychiatric symptoms(43%) and seizures(13%). The histopathological diagnosies were done in 19 cases(10 cases by resective surgery, 9 cases by open or stereotactic biopsy). The others were diagnosed by the typical clinical course such as rapid disappearance of lesions after steroid therapy, and/or radiological findings. Histological subtypes(National Cancer Institute Working Formulation) was confirmed in 8 patients including 3 cases of diffuse large cell type. Phenotype was determined in 7 patients : 4 were B-cell type and 3 were T-cell type. One patient committed suicide during the radiation therapy and was therefore excluded from the survival analysis. All but two patients received radiation therapy. Five patients received chemotherapy. The over-all Kaplan-Meier survival rate was 46% at 2 years and 15.5% at 5 years. On univariate analysis, statistically significant prognositc factor associated with survival was not found but the higher Karnofsky score and single lesion were found to be favorable to the long-term survival. In the statistical analysis of the patients who received radiation therapy, surgical resection did not significantly influence the survival.

All year old boy with craniopharyngioma associated with hypogonadotropic hypogonadism, obesity and severe fatty metamorphosis of the lilver is described with review of literatures. The liver biopsy revaled severe fatty metamorphosis with periportal infiltration. It is highly suggested that morbid obesity, a manifestation of the craniopharyngioma, may be the etiology of the fatty metamorphosis of the liver.
Entomopathogenic fungi-mediated biological control of the red palm weevil Rhynchophorus ferrugineus

The red palm weevil (RPW), Rhynchophorus ferrugineus, is an important pest of palms, and difficult to control by conventional methods. Therefore, microbial control is an alternative strategy for controlling RPW. Herein, a total of 15 entomopathogenic fungi (EPFs) were subjected to primary pathogenicity screening against last stage of RPW larvae. The preliminary data showed that four Beauveria bassiana isolates (JEF-484, 158, 462 and 507) and one Isaria fumosorosea isolate (JEF-014) resulted in 100 % mortality within 5–10 days post inoculation (d.p.i.), respectively. According to the time required for RPW mortality, JEF-484, 158, 462 and 014 were further sub jected to bioassays using 10 7 conidia/ml suspensions by spraying method. Based on the results, JEF-484 showed the highest mortality and shortest LT 50 on the last stage of RPW larvae, followed by JEF-158. The two isolates also showed good conidial production and high thermal stability compared to the other isolates. Therefore, JEF-484 and JEF-158 were selected for bioassays against RPW egg and the last larval stage with different concen trations of 10 5 , 10 6 and 10 7 conidia/ml conidial suspensions by spraying method. For the bioassay at the egg stage, JEF-158 showed a significantly higher ovicidal effect than JEF-484. In the larval bioassay, both EPF isolates showed a dosage-dependent effect on the RPW larvae. JEF-484 caused higher mortality in RPW larvae than JEF-158. In summary, the combination of the 2 promising EPF isolates might provide an opportunity for the practical microbial control of RPW at different life stages in palm tree fields.
