Background: Ginseng (Panax ginseng Meyer) is an important medicinal herbs in Asia. However, ginsengvarieties are less developed. Method: To developed ginseng varieties, a pure line selection method was applied in this study. Results: Gumpoong was testing of 4-yr-old specimens in 2002, the proportions of the below-groundroots that were rusty colored for Gumpoong was 1.29 in Daejeon and 1.45 in Eumseong, whereas theproportions for its yellow berry variant were 2.60 and 2.45 in the two regions, respectively. Thus theGumpoong was resistant to root rust. Sunpoong has a high yielding property. Its average root weight is70.6 g for 6-yr-old roots. Its yield is 2.9 kg/1.62m2 and the rate of heaven- and earth-grade product is20.9%, which is very high compared to 9.4% for Yunpoong. Sunone is resistance to root rot and thesurvival rate of 4-yr-old roots was 44.4% in 1997, whereas that of the violet-stem variant landrace was21.7%. Sunhyang has content of arginyl-fructosyl-glucose (AFG), which produces the unique scent of redginseng, is 95.1 mmol/g and greater than the 30.8 mmol/g of Chunpoong in 6-yr-old plants. Sunun andCheongsun are being nurtured to protect genetic resources. Conclusion: Developed ginsneg varieties will be used as the basis for the protection of genetic resourcesand breeding. Jang-Ho Lee

The purposes of this study are 1) to examine the characteristics and types of costume which had a vogue in the Shakespeare's times, 2) to analyze characters' psychological aspect and change it to visual image and then apply to design, 3) to design new stage costume through the symbolism of the colors and the simplication of the costume added modern sense on the basis of the costume in the early Renaissance in Shakespeare's Drama "Hamlet". The results of study are as follows. Hamlet's costume is composed of velvet jacket transformed Houpplande for black mourning clothes and black tight pants. Gertrude's costume is composed of red-purple gown with hanging- sleeves and gray silk underdress. Ophelia's costume is composed of white chemise and green overdress.

요약문농작물에 사용된 비료중 30~705가 농작물의 영양분으로 이용되고, 나머지는 지표수 에 의하여 하천으로 유입되거나, 지하수로 스며든다. 이러한 이유로 경제적 손실과 더불어 지하수에 질소 성분이 농축되어 식수 오염에 큰 영향을 미친다. 본 연구에서는 고분자 가공 기술을 응용하여 120。C에서 무정형 폴리 프로필렌과 요소비료를 혼합하여 지속성 비료 제 조를 제조하였다. 제조된 지속성 비료는 25。C 수중에서 비료성분의 방출속도를 측정하였 다. AbstractIt is estimated that only 30∼70% of the fertilizer applied in agriculture is used for plant nutrition, the rest is carried away by ground water or lost through mtrification-denitrification. Apart from the economic loss due to wastage, severe environmental problems arise due to increasing nitrate concentration in public drinking water. The fertilizer urea was mixed with APP (atactic polypropylene) by super mixer at 120 'C. The rate of fertilizer release was determined by checking dissolution rate in water at 25。C.

We investigated the basic operation conditions and biological properties for the dyeing wastewater treatment by sequencing batch reactor(SBR) process. The results are summarized as bellow. The experimental results were constructed with design factor. a. COD removal efficiency was appeared to be over 53% when carbohydrate not added to dyeing wastewater. According to carbohydrate addition weight COD removal efficiency was improved to 92%. b. TKN removal efficiency was appeared to be over 43% when carbohydrate not added to dyeing wastewater. When carbohydrate added to dyeing waste water TKN removal efficiency was achieved 87%. In a conclusion, therefore, under all the conditions provided in this study Sequencing Batch Reactor process appeared to be effective, economical and useful process for dyeing wastewater treatment.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of aerobic exercise training on serum lipids in obese high school girls. Thirty-one obese high school girls were devided by exercise group(n=23) and non-exercise group(n=8). Exercise group was adapted to have exercises of aerobic by intensity of 70∼85% HRmax and RPE 13∼15, for 60 min/day, 4 times/week for 10 weeks. The conclusion of the study was as follows : 1) Triglyceride(TG) has decreased significantly by aerobic exercise training(P<0.01). 2) Phospholipid(PL) has increased significantly by aerobic exercise training(P<0.05). 3) Lipase has decreased significantly by aerobic exercise training(P<0.05). 4) T-cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol have decreased by aerobic exercise training but there were no significant changes. And HDL-cholesterol has increased by aerobic exercise training but there was no significant change. 5) VLDL-cholesterol has decreased significantly by aerobic exercise training(P<0.01). 6) LDL/HDL and T-chol/HDL have decreased significantly by aerobic exercise training(P<0.05).
생분해성 플라스틱이 포함된 유기성 생활 쓰레기의 퇴비화

준 생산용 퇴비화 장치를 이용하여 생분해성 플라스틱을 포함하는 유기성 도시생활쓰레기기의 퇴비화를 연구하였다. 유기성 도시생활쓰레기는 실제 도시생활쓰레기 구성비에서 무기물을 제외한 유기성 물질만의 비로 만들어 사용하였다. 유기성 도시생활쓰레기를 구성하는 각각의 물질에 대한 생분해도를 ISO법으로 측정하였고, 퇴비의 화학적 물리적 특성도 조사하였다. 구성 물질에 대한 생분해도 결과에서, 생분해성 고분자를 포함한 각 물질들은 퇴비화에 충분한 생분해도를 나타내는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 또한, 유기성 도시 생활쓰레기로부터 비독성의 퇴비를 얻을 수 있음을 알았다. The composting study of organic municipal solid waste containing biodegradable plastic was performed by using pilot scale composting apparatus. The organic municipal solid waste(OMSW) was artificially prepared for composting. The composition of artificial OMSW was the same as that of real municipal solid waste excluding inorganic waste. The biodegradability of individual component of OMSW was studied according to the ISO method. The chemical and physical characteristics were also observed. Biodegradability study revealed that every component of OMSW including biodegradable plastic had sufficient degradability for real composting. And it was found that non-toxic compost could be produced from OMSW containing biodegradable plastic.
