Cochlea is well known to have the ability to analyze a wide frequency and this ability seems to be caused to the Basilar Membrane(BM) configuration. However, the relationship between the Cochlea frequency-position map is not clear. In this paper, the three-dimensional BM model was made using the Finite Element Method. Then, an attempt was made to examine the influence of the BM configuration on the Cochlea frequency-position map.

This paper shows that the capacitance of the input space of the neuron affects the point of convergence of the output of the neuron in Lapunove energy function for Hopfield neural network. And this paper also shows that the gain factor of sygrnoid function affects the shape of energy map and the point of convergence of the output of the neuron.

The negative weight often can be seen in Hopfield neural network. which is difficult to implement negative conductance in circuits. So we replaced the negative weight with the positive by using inverting neurons. And It has been shown that the input conductance affects the stability of the circuits greatly. and this paper offers the way to decide the appropriate value.

A/D converter has made to able to display the result of AID conversion enlarging down to the decimal point by improving the performance of A/D converter using a neural network. The network employs Hopfield뭩 model of a neuron with the connection elements specified on the basis of an analysis of the energy function. It is proposed to reduce the error of conversion between analog and digital by using 2^(-1), 2^(-2) ... when analog is converted to digital. Simulation has shown that most of the analog converges to the digital close to the original analog value.

미세가공기술을 이용한 Interdigitated Array 전극의 제작 및 응용

Interdigitated array (IDA) electrodes were fabricated using silicon technology for highly sensitive biosensing. Thin-film platinum and gold IDA electrodes were fabricated with 10 μm band width and 7 μm gap between the bands using photolithographic techniques. The IDA electrode has 100 fingers consisting of 50 finger anodes and 50 finger cathodes. By applying both the oxidation and the reduction potentials of a reversible redox couple, ferrocyanide, to the pairs of the IDA electrode, an increased current generation can be observed. In our experiment, the collection efficiency of IDA electrode was 46% and amplification factor was 12.6. This preliminary experiment implies that the IDA electrode could be applied to biosensor fabrications as the sensitive electrochemical transducer when a lower detection limit is needed such as phenol sensor for drinking water analysis.

Objectives : This study aims to estimate the prevalence of the DSM-IV psychiatric disorders in Korean population using the Korean version of Composite International Diagnostic Interview (K-CIDI). Methods : Subjects were selected by taking multi-stage, cluster samples of 7,867 adult household residents, 18 to 64 years of age, in ten catchment areas. Total 78 trained interviewers administered the K-CIDI to the selected respondents, from June 1 to November30,2001. Results : Total 6,275 respondents completed the interview. Some 33.5% of respondents reported at least one lifetime disorder, 20.6% reported at least one-year disorder, and 16.7% reported at least one-month disorder. The most common lifetime disorders were alcohol abuse/dependence (17.24%), nicotine dependence/withdrawal (11.19%), specific phobia (5.16%), and major de-pressive disorder (4.25%). The lifetime prevalence of substance abuse/dependence (0.25%) and schizophrenia (0.16%) was very low. Nicotine and alcohol use disorder showed very high male/female ratio. Mood disorder and anxiety disorder were more prevalent among female than male. Conclusion : The prevalence of psychiatric disorders was high. In comparison with other studies, remarkable differences in distributions of psychiatric disorders across the areas and times were observed.

Comparisons of callus formation ratios from seed explants, callus sizes, regeneration ratios from callus and regeneration efficiency for 4 orchardgrass (Dactylis glomerata L.) varieties (Three were developed in Korea and one was imported from foreign nation) are as follows; Jangbeol 102 (67.0%) has the highest callus formation ratio in 4 weeks incubated callus after bedding the seed explants, but Potomac (68.4%) has the highest ratio in 6-seek callus. Potomac (3.93cm) has the highest callus size in 4-week callus, but Jangbeol 101 (4.32cm) has the highest size in 6-week callus. Jangbeol 101 (17.7%) has the highest plant regeneration ratio in 4-week callus, but Potomac (37.4%) has the highest raion in 6-week callus. Jangbeol 102 (11.5%) has the highest plant regeneration efficiency in 4-week callus, but Potomac (25.6%) has the highest efficiency in 6-week callus.
