Background : The cun measurement System, an essential and convenient method in locating acupoints, has been widely used in the practice of acupuncture. However, traditional cun measurement has been criticized for its lack of reliability. Objectives : The purposes of this study are to determine if one cun measured by the directional methods have a consistency with that of proportional methods and to investigate which factors are related with these differences, especially in forearm. Methods : The distance between the elbow crease and the wrist crease of forearm was compared to a reference value of one cun obtained by the directional method. In this method, one cun is one third of the distance between index finger and Small finger of a subject, measured at proximal interphalangeal joint. In addition, to investigate the factors influencing the differences between these two methods, we measured the height and body weight and calculated body mass index (BMI). Finally we analyzed the factors correlated with these lengths by linear regression test. Results : The results showed that one cun obtained by the directional methods were significantly different from one cun by the proportional methods in forearm. It was demonstrated that the length acquired with the directional method was more correlated with body weight and body mass index, while the length obtained by the proportional method was more correlated with the height.
에폭시수지의 개질을 위한 아민말단 반응성 올리고머의 합성과 특성(Ⅰ)

경화후 에폭시 수지(Epon828)의 파괴 특성을 증가시키기 위해 아민 말단을 갖는 반응성poly(aryl ether ketone)은 방향족 친핵성 치환반응으로 합성하였고, N'_(B)의 화학양론값을 조절하여 분자량이 다른 올리고머를 쉽게 합성하였다. 이는 원소분석, NMR, IR로 확인하였고, 분자량의 증가에 따른 올리고머의 T_(g)가 증가함을 DSC로 알수 있었다. 그리고 XRD를 통해 이 반응성 올리고머는 결정성을 가지고 있음을 알 수 있었고, tensile modulus는 1.93 GPa, 변형률은 3.2%로서 상당히 brittle한 특성을 보여주었다. In order to improve the fracture properties of commercialized epoxy resin(Epon828), the amine-terminated reactive oligomer synthesized has the chemical structure of aromatic aryl ether ketone type. The reactive oligomer was synthesized easily by two-step reaction and can be controlled in its molecular weight by a stoichiometric reaction. It's clarified by using the elemental analysis, FT-NMR, and FT-IR. WAXS pattern of the reactive oligomer shows that the olisomer has crystallinity. The tensile modulus(1.93GPa) and strain(3.2%) of the oligomer indicate that the amine-terminated reactive oligomer is so brittle

This study was carried out to examine the useful components of Purs Lane and their nitrite scavenging effect. Leaves and stems were separated and analyzed fo general chemical composition, amino acid composition, and dietary fiber contents. Anti-oxidant nutrient such as total vitamin C, total phenol ice, and vitamin E contents were also analyzed. Nitrite scavenging effects of methanol extract and aqeous extract were examined.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>This paper describes a new system for NIR light-triggered, localized release of drugs. The system consists of biocompatible/degradable poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL)-based fibers having a core loaded with doxorubicin (DOX) and a sheath incorporated with indocyanine green (ICG) as a NIR-absorbing agent together with a biocompatible/degradable, phase-changeable fatty acid. Upon NIR irradiation, the photothermal agent will generate heat to raise the local temperature of the fibers. When the temperature is above the melting point of the fatty acid, nano-pores will be generated in the fibers. This response to NIR irradiation allows the instant release of DOX from the fibers through the pores, leading to the significant enhancement of anticancer activity in combination with the hyperthermia effect arising from the photothermal agent.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Poly(ε-caprolactone) fibers incorporated with phase-changeable fatty acid and indocyanine green (ICG) have been fabricated. </LI> <LI> The prepared fibers release pre-loaded anticancer drug in response to NIR light irradiation. </LI> <LI> The NIR triggered release leads to the enhancement of anticancer activity in combination with the hyperthermia effect by ICG. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

This work introduces an efficient probe for sensitive and selective detection of Al3+ based on goldnanorods (AuNRs) with tannic acid (TA) surface modification. TA, which containsfive digalloyl estergroups covalently attached to a glucose core, exhibits preferential complexation and binding to Al3+,leading to the formation of side-by-side assembly of AuNRs and consequently inducing a change in theUV–vis absorbance spectra of their aqueous suspension. By increasing the Al3+ concentration to 7.4 mM, arapid, linear blue-shift in the longitudinal LSPR band and a decrease in its intensity are exhibited, with a0.09 mM limit of detection (LOD). Furthermore, the probe shows good selectivity to Al3+, along with thecapability of detecting this cation in real water samples.

This work reports the fabrication of AuNR@MSNs [i.e., gold nanorods (AuNRs) coated with mesoporoussilica nanoshells (MSNs)] with independent sensitivities to pH and near-infrared (NIR) light for reversibleon–off switching of drug release without premature drug leakage. The fabrication involves the incorporationof lauric acid (LA) as a thermosensitive gatekeeper, followed by the coating of tannic acid (TA) layersas a pH-sensitive gatekeeper. The protonation–deprotonation of the TA layers according to change inpH can result in their swelling–deswelling to induce pH-sensitive drug release, while the solid–liquidphase transition of LA by NIR light-induced heat generation in AuNRs enables the NIR light-controlledrelease of preloaded drug molecules. The interplay between these dual gatekeepers allows the releaseof pre-loaded drug from the AuNR@MSN-LA@TAs (i.e., AuNR@MSNs incorporating LA and TA) only atacidic conditions under NIR light irradiation, without premature drug leakage under inactive conditions(neutral pH or no NIR light). Moreover, the reversibility of the gatekeepers can make an on–off mannereddrug release. Benefiting from the capability of the gatekeepers to induce pH-/temperature-sensitiverelease, along with the photothermal ability of AuNRs, the AuNR@MSN-LA@TAs can exhibit a satisfactoryanticancer performance without undesired drug leakage.
