        The distribution and localization of somatostatin(SOM), neuropeptide Y(NPY), vasopressin(VP), and oxytocin(OT) were studied with a immunohistochemical technique in the canine hypothalamus. The SOM-immunoreactive perikarya were concentrated in the anterior periventricular and the arcuate nuclei. Immunoreactive terminals were observed in the arcuate, the ventromedial hypothalamic, the suprachismatic nuclei and the external layer of the median emmence. A great number of NPY-immunoreactive cell bodies were found in the arcuate nucleus and NPY fibers were located throughout the hypothalamus with the highest concentration especially in the paraventricular (PVN) and the acuate nuclei. Moderately or densely stained fibers were also observed in the median eminence, the suprachiasmatic. the periventricular, the ventromedial hypothalamic, the dorsomedial hypothalamic and the medial preoptic nuclei, and the stria terminalis. Both VP-and OT-containing perikarya were found mainly in the PVN and supraoptic nucleus(SON). but a few were seen in the perifornical area, the lateral hypothalamus, the dorsal hypothalamic and the periventricular nucleus. The fibers originated from the PVN were projected to the SON via ventral or dorsal area of the fornix.

      • 비만 여성을 대상으로 한 해조류 추출물의 국부처치와 운동 병행을 통한 지방분해 효과의 임상적 검정

        This study was carried out to test the body fat breakdown during topical seaweed extract treatment and in combination with the aerobic exercise. Of 20 female obesity subjects, ten treated a cream types of seaweed extract(control group) and ten treated a placebo cream(placebo group). Topical treatment of each sample was designed for 4 weeks, and treated with 2 times a day about 10ml on the abdomen and the thigh, respectively. All subjects were participated aerobic dance half hour a day and four times a week. After 4 weeks of topical treatment and exercise, they were measured body fat, skinfold thickness, body circumference. Then venous blood samples were taken and analyzed blood cells, serum enzymes, and serum lipids. There were reduction of body weight, % of body fat, antebrachium, brachium, chest, waist, thigh circumference and abdomen thickness between pre and post treatment in both group. Especially, body weight and % of body fat significantly reduced in the subjects treating the seaweed extract than those treating the placebo. There were significant decrement in total cholesterol and LDL whereas increment in HDL and TBIL in the control group, but no significant difference in the placebo group. In conclusion, there were 7.6% of body fat reduction during 4 weeks of aerobic exercise and 21% of body fat reducement in combination of topical seaweed treatment and exercise, respectively. These results suggest that the topical treatment of seaweed extract should be very effective for fat breakdown. Especially, the body fat breakdown maximized in the combination with the topical seaweed extracts treatment and the aerobic exercise.

        상악골에 발생한 원발성 골내암종

        The primary intra-osseous carcinoma (PIOC) is a very rare lesion. PIOC is and odontogenic carcinoma defined as a squamous cell carcinoma arisinig within a jaw having no initial connection with the oral mucosa, and presumably developing from residues of the odontogenic epithelium. The authors diagnosed a 51-year-old female as primary intra-osseous carcinoma after undergoing clinical, radiological and histological examinations. The characteristics were as followed: 1. The patient complained of gingival bleeding on the premolar area in the left maxilla 2. The conventional radiograms showed a relatively well-defined unilocular radiolucent lesion from the mesial aspect of the upper left canine to the mesial aspect of the upper. left 1st molar. The 2nd premolar was separated from the 1st molar and the floor of the maxillary sinus was elevated by the lesion. There was a external root resorption of the upper left canine, the 1st premolar, and the 2nd premolar. 3. On the computed tomograms, the osteolytic bony lesion expanded the cortical plate of the left maxilla and displaced the margin of the left maxillary sinus upwards. But the bony lesion was separated from the maxillary sinus by a bony septum. 4. Bone scintigram with ?Tc demonstrated the increased uptake in the left maxilla. Sonograms in the neck area and chest P-A radiogram didn't show any abnormalities. 5. Histologically, the tumor islands infiltrating into the surrounding bone increased in alveolar pattern, composed of the malignant cells, and there was a necrosis in the center of the tumor islands.

        팬텀투과계수와 유효조사면 개념을 이용한 종양선량 확인에 관한 연구

        The aim of this study Is to develop a simple and fast method which computes in-vivo doses from transmission doses measured doting patient treatment using an ionization chamber. Energy fluence and the dose that reach the chamber positioned behind the patient is modified by three factors: patient attenuation, inverse square attenuation. and scattering. We adopted a straightforward empirical approach using a phantom transmission factor (PTF) which accounts for the contribution from all three factors. It was done as follows. First of all, the phantom transmission factor was measured as a simple ratio of the chamber reading measured with and without a homogeneous phantom in the radiation beam according to various field sizes($r_p$), phantom to chamber distance($d_g$) and phantom thickness($T_p$). Secondly, we used the concept of effective field to the cases with inhomogeneous phantom (patients) and irregular fields. The effective field size is calculated by finding the field size that produces the same value of PTF to that for the irregular field and/or inhomogeneous phantom. The hypothesis is that the presence of inhomogeneity and irregular field can be accommodated to a certain extent by altering the field size. Thirdly, the center dose at the prescription depth can be computed using the new TMR($r_{p,eff}$) and Sp($r_{p,eff}$) from the effective field size. After that, when TMR(d, $r_{p,eff}$) and SP($r_{p,eff}$) are acquired. the tumor dose is as follows. $$D_{center}=D_t/PTF(d_g,\;T_p){\times}(\frac{SCD}{SAD})^2{\times}BSF(r_o){\times}S_p(r_{p,eff}){\times}TMR(d,\;r_{p,eff})$$ To make certain the accuracy of this method, we checked the accuracy for the following four cases; in cases of regular or irregular field size, inhomogeneous material included, any errors made and clinical situation. The errors were within 2.3% for regular field size, 3.0% irregular field size, 2.4% when inhomogeneous material was included in the phantom, 3.8% for 6 MV when the error was made purposely, 4.7% for 10 MV and 1.8% for the measurement of a patient in clinic. It is considered that this methode can make the quality control for dose at the time of radiation therapy because it is non-invasive that makes possible to measure the doses whenever a patient is given a therapy as well as eliminates the problem for entrance or exit dose measurement.

      • Mg-Zn-Ca합금의 부식저항 개선에 관한 연구

        In order to corrosion resistance of Mg-Zn alloy the 3rd element, Ca(0 to 1.5wt.%)element was added. Alloy ingot was made under vacuum atmosphere of 4×10^-4 Torr in the quartz tube coated by BN. The addition of Ca elements to Mg-Zn alloys were obtained grain size refining and age hardening. Corrosion characteristics were investigated by potentiostatic corrosion test in 5wt.%NaCl solution.(ΔE=100mV) The corrosion current density of Mg and Mg-6wt.% Zn alloy was reduced by addition of 0.5wt.% Ca.

        구강영역에서 발생된 낭의 방사선학적 분류에 따른 낭액내 glycosaminoglycan 성분의 비교 연구

        This study was designed to evaluate the correlationship between radiologic classifications of cysts in oral region and glycosaminoglycan analysis of cystic fluids using cellulose acetate electrophoresis. The materials for this study consisted of 37 cases-8 periapical cysts, 10 dentigerous cysts, 10 primordial cysts, 2 residual cysts, 3 incisive canal cysts, 2 post-operative maxillary cysts, 1 muococele on maxillary sinus, & 1 unicystic ameloblastoma-diagnosed as cystic lesions radiologically. The obtained results were as follows: 1. At the stepwise discriminant analysis, four variables-low mobility material, heparin, hyaluronic acid, & dermatan sulfate-were used to define diagnostic model for the odotogenic cyst. The model produced a sensitivity of 100% and a specificity of 85%. 2. The intensities of heparin and chondroitin-4-sulfate were greater in dentigerous cyst than periapical cyst(p<0.05). The intensity of chondroitin-4-sulfate was greater in primordial cyst than in periapical cyst(p<0.05). 3. It showed no statistically significant difference in glycosaminoglycan of the cystic fluids between dentigerous cyst and primordial cyst(p>0.05). 4. On the fluids of the cysts originated from maxillary sinus, there were especially high intensities of heparin and dermatan sulfate, and low intensity of chondroitin-4-sulfate. 5. On the fluids of unicystic ameloblastoma, there were high intensity of dermatan sulfate and low intensity of chondroitin-4-sulfate.

        감정노동을 수반하는 접점직원의 관리에 관한 연구

        본 연구는 이른바 ‘갑’질이 사회적 쟁점으로 등장하여 관심을 끌게 된 감정노동을 대상으로 한 연구다. 서비스노동은 기존의 제조경제 노동과는 달리 고객을 직접 상대하는, 즉 쌍방작용성이란 직무특성으로 인해 감정적 어려움을 겪게 되는데, 이를 감정노동이라 한다. 따라서 이런 직무를 담당하는 직원의 관리는 모순에 직면하게 되는데, 서비스품질과 생산성이다. 이 모순을 해결하기 위해 고안된 것이 서비스-이익사슬모델과 내부마케팅모델이다. 두 모델은 접점직원만족을 중심으로 논리를 전개하고 있어 유사한데, 접점직원이 감정노동을 수반하는 직무를 수행한다는 점을 간과하고 있는 한계를 공히 가지고 있다. 본 연구는 서비스경제로의 전환과 함께 인적자원관리 연구에서 새롭게 등장하고 있는 자기결정성이론과 접점서비스를 할 때 가장 중요한 신념으로 논의되는 고객지향성에 근거하여 두 모델의 한계를 극복하는 것이 목적이다. 이를 위해 구체적으로 세 가지 가설을 제기하여 대표적인 감정노동의 현장인 증권회사 인바운드 콜센타상담사를 대상으로 검증하였으며, 연구결과에 근거하여 감정노동을 수반하는 접점직원관리의 기존모델을 수정하는 방안을 제시하면 다음과 같다. 먼저, 두 모델 모두 자기결정성이 높은 관리방식인 서비스유연성으로 접점직원의 만족을 유도해야 한다는 점을 반영해야 할 것이다. 다음으로, 고객지향성을 두 모델 모두에 매개변수로 강조할 필요가 있다. 구체적으로 서비스-이익사슬은 “자기결정성이 있는 내부서비스품질 → 직원만족 → 고객지향성 → 서비스성과(고객만족, 고객애호도, 매출 및 이익 등)”로, 내부마케팅모델은 “자기결정성이 있는 내부마케팅활동 → 직원만족 → 고객지향성 → 서비스성과”로 수정할 것을 제안한다. The unethical behavior of party A(denoting the superior party in an unequal contractual relation), ‘Gapzil(in Korean)’, has become a social issue after the incident involving an executive of a big corporation and a cabin crew member of a Korean Air Flight. Although manufacturing economy was shifted to service economy and information economy, emotional labor hasn"t received attention by academic and social areas. This study is to analyze the management of emotional labor, while the existing study has studied these subjects focusing mostly on emotion and the emotion-coping strategy. To solve the paradox of enhancing service quality and productivity in the frontline service at the same time, the management of emotional labor has been approached with two models; service-profit chain and internal marketing. The two models, focus on the satisfaction of frontline employees and have a weakness of not considering the difficulty of emotional labor. To solve the paradox, this study aims to find new ideas based on the self-determination theory and customer orientation. To that end, three hypotheses are proposed and tested using data from an in-bound call center of a Korean securities brokerage companies. The result shows that the service flexibility has a high impact on caller"s satisfaction. This is to say, among the internal marketing mix, self-determination factor is the key to solve the difficulties of emotional labor most effectively. Secondly, emotional labor"s satisfaction, mediated by customer orientation, has a positive effect on job performance. This is to say that the paradoxical task of enhancing both the employee satisfaction and service performance is solved through the deep belief of frontline employee towards customer orientation. Based on these findings, we can suggest two modified models as follows; “service quality based on self-determination → employee satisfaction → customer orientation → service performance”, “internal marketing based on self-determination → employee satisfaction → customer orientation → service performance.”

      • A zeolite membrane module composed of SAPO-34 hollow fibers for use in fluorinated gas enrichment

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>A membrane module composed of SAPO-34 hollow fibers was constructed for the enrichment of NF<SUB>3</SUB>, a strong greenhouse gas with a 100-year global warming potential (GWP)<ce:cross-ref refid='fn1'> <SUP>1</SUP> </ce:cross-ref> of > 17,000. Growth of the SAPO-34 membrane was investigated on the alumina hollow fibers using in-situ growth and secondary growth methods. Heterogeneous nucleation of SAPO-34 crystal took place on the surface because of hetero-atoms existing on the support, contributing to early development of continuous zeolite film. Zeolite membranes were successfully prepared from both in-situ and secondary growth. The membrane prepared by secondary growth presented N<SUB>2</SUB> permeance as high as 168.4 GPU with an N<SUB>2</SUB>/NF<SUB>3</SUB> gas selectivity of 580.7. A SAPO-34 membrane module was assembled using the hollow fiber membranes produced by secondary growth, but separation performance of the module was reduced to N<SUB>2</SUB> permeance of 136.4 GPU with an N<SUB>2</SUB>/NF<SUB>3</SUB> gas selectivity of 133.7. When used for the enrichment of NF<SUB>3</SUB> gas, a superior yield (98%) and enrichment ratio (20) were obtained from the module at a stage-cut of 0.95.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Thin SAPO-34 membranes (< 2µm) were synthesized for the enrichment of NF<SUB>3</SUB> gas. </LI> <LI> Alumina hollow fibers were used as a porous support for the SAPO-34 membrane. </LI> <LI> Both in-situ growth and secondary growth methods were studied for SAPO-34 membrane. </LI> <LI> A membrane module consisting of SAPO-34 hollow fibers was constructed. </LI> <LI> The module enriched NF<SUB>3</SUB> gas from a N<SUB>2</SUB>/NF<SUB>3</SUB> mixture with high separation efficiency. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

      • 난소암에서 CA125의 임상적 의의

        The concentration of the tumor marker CA125 in serum from patients with ovarian tumor was measured to define the usefulness of them in differentiating malignant ovarian tumor from benign ovarian mass. In the study of 105 patients with gynecologic neoplasm, of whom 38 were myoma uteri, 42 benign ovarian tumor, and 25 ovarian cancer, the level of serum CA125 were measured. CA125 was greater than 35 U/ml in 2.6% of myoma uteri, in 2.4% of benign ovarian tumors and 68.0% of ovarian cancers. Using a cut-off level of 35 U/ml, the results can be characterized by a 68.0% of sensitivity and 97.5% of specificity in detecting an ovarian cancer. Among 25 patients with ovarian cancer, 11 of 14 (78.6%) patients with serous cystadenocarcinoma, 4 of 6 (66.7%) patients with mucinous cystadenocarcinoma and 2 of 5 (40.0%) patients with endometrioid carcinoma had CA125 values greater than 35 U/ml. In relation to a higher tumor stage, there was an increasing incidence of elevated levels of CA125. As a result, it is likely that the measurement of CA125 is useful for early diagnosis of ovarian cancer.

      • 충주 지역에서 10년간 급성심근경색의 임상관찰에 대한 연구

        Background: The current treatments of acute myocardial infarct(AMI) Include noninvasive method using thrombolytics and invasive methods such as primary percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty(PTCA) and coronary artery bypass graft(CABG)surgery. Although there are many studies comparing the effectiveness of noninvasive and invasive methods, when large clinical centers, 20% of totar hospitals, were excluded, most middle-sized hospitals lacked personnels and facilities for the invasive methods. Thus they opted for the noninvasive methods. Therefore, in this study, the clinical characteristics of AMI patients and the results of thrombolytic & conservative treatment were observed. Method: 137 patients with acute myocardial infarct, who visited KonKuk University Medical Center, ChoongJu Hospital during Sept. 1990 to Sept. 1999 were analysed retrospectively using medical records. Result: The sexual compositions of patients were 63.5% male, and 36.5% female. The mean age for male patients were 56±12.9, and for female patients 68.7±9.6 (p<0.05). The mean age for female patients was significantly older than male patients. The patients in the thrombolytic treatment group had mortality rate of 6.25% which is lower than that of the conservative treatment group at 12% (p>0.05). Conclusion: Although in our study, small number of acute myocardial infarct patients caused the statistical insignificance, rapid revascularization by thrombolytic therapy within 6 hours of onset of symptoms improved mortality rate and early ambulation. And we had good results on AMI with thrombolytic agent in ChungJu including near rural area as primary emergency hospital. Therefore a prospective research with greater number of subjects is needed to develop better treatments for AMI.
