A base structure which mounts positioning stages is often subjected to vibration due to the reaction force against the stage motions. This paper deals with an input shaping method for positioning stage in consideration of vibration base structures along with the stage vibration. A dynamic model is established to investigate the vibration of positioning stage and base structure. Two input shapers, a conventional input shaper and a new input shaper, are applied to eliminate both the residual vibrations in base structure as well as positioning stage. Simulations show that the input shaping methods effectively remove the residual vibrations.

An Ac-type Plasma Display Panel (PDP) operating with Ne-Ar(0.1%) Penning mixture gas is fabicated. The characterics of the panel with electrodes covered with thin and thick dielectric layers are studied. The brightness of the Neon-orange light emitted by the panel measured as function of applied voltage and frequency. As an application, a graphic display system equipped with PDP showing still and moving pictures is made.

A variety of precise stages are adopted for precise machinery. To secure vibration isolation, those precise stages are mounted on a heavy base structure supported by compliant springs. Then the base structure is often subjected to vibration due to the reaction force induced by the stage motion. This paper investigates the dynamic behavior of base structures as well as a vibration reduction technique. A 6 DOF dynamic model is established to investigate the vibration of positioning stage and base structure. A new input shaper is devised to eliminate both the residual vibrations in base structure. Simulations show that the proposed input shaper effectively remove the residual vibrations in base structure.

Olfactory sensitivity exhibits daily fluctuations. Several studies have suggested that the olfactory system in insects is modulated by both biogenic amines and neuropeptides. However, molecular and neural mechanisms underlying olfactory modulation in the periphery remain unclear since neuronal circuits regulating olfactory sensitivity have not been identified. Here, we investigated the structure and function of these signaling pathways in the peripheral olfactory system of the American cockroach, Periplaneta americana, utilizing in situ hybridization, qRT-PCR, and electrophysiological approaches. We showed that tachykinin was co-localized with the octopamine receptor in antennal neurons located near the antennal nerves. In addition, the tachykinin receptor was found to be expressed in most of the olfactory receptor neurons in antennae. Functionally, the effects direct injection of tachykinin peptides, dsRNAs of tachykinin, tachykinin receptors, and octopamine receptors provided further support for the view that both octopamine and tachykinin modulate olfactory sensitivity. Taken together, these findings demonstrated that octopamine and tachykinin in antennal neurons are olfactory regulators in the periphery. We propose here the hypothesis that octopamine released from neurons in the brain regulates the release of tachykinin from the octopamine receptor neurons in antennae, which in turn modulates the olfactory sensitivity of olfactory receptor neurons, which house tachykinin receptors.
Pharmaceutical Evaluation of Genistein-loaded Pluronic Micelles for Oral Delivery

The purpose of the present study was to determine whether Pluronic F127 polymeric micelles could improve the oral bioavailability of a poor water-soluble drug, such as genistein. Genistein is a phytoestrogen that has estrogenic activity. F127 triblock copolymer consists of $PEO_{100}-PPO_{65}-PEO_{100}$. Genistein was incorporated in the Pluronic F127 polymeric micelles by a solid dispersion method. The genistein release of genistein-loaded polymeric micelles was studied in vitro (in pH 1.2 and pH 6.8). And the oral bioavailabilities of genistein powder and genisteinloaded micelles were estimated at a dose of 4.0 mg/kg as genistein in rats. Drug loading amount and drug loading efficiency were 11.18% and 97.41%, respectively. The average size of the genistein-loaded polymeric micelles was 27.76 nm. And genistein release of the genistein-loaded polymeric micelles in vitro was 58% (pH 1.2) and 82% (pH 6.8). The bioavailability of genistein-loaded polymeric micelles was better than genistein powder. Consequently, Pluronic F127 polymeric micelles are an effective delivery system for the oral administration of genistein.
