일부 초등학생의 비만도에 따른 칼슘과 철의 섭취상태와 혈청 농도에 관한 연구

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the nutrition status of calcium and iron in 116 elementary school students with different obesity index. Subjects were assigned to under weight, normal weight or over weight group according to the their obesity index. Their nutritional status, serum calcium and iron levels were evaluated based on 24-recall dietary recalls, anthropometric measurements and blood analysis. The mean height, weight, obesity index and blood pressure of total subjects were 150.4 cm, 45.5 kg, 5.8% and 118.2/76.8 mmHg. The mean % of body fat, SBP and WHR were higher while LBM and TBW were lower in over weight subject than those of other group. The iron intake of overweight was lower than that of underweight and normal subjects(p<0.05) and average calcium intakes were only 50% and 60% respectively of the RDA for Korean. Serum calcium and iron levels of a three groups were within the normal range. There were no significant differences in serum calcium and iron concentrations among three groups, however those of underweight group were a slightly lower than those of other two groups. There were significantly negative correlations between iron of intake and weight, obesity index, systolic pressure and body fat percent. Systolic blood pressure was negatively correlated to the intakes of energy, carbohydrate and protein. Energy intake was also negatively correlated to serum iron. To summarize the results, calcium and iron intakes should be supplied to elementary school students, especially those who were overweight. These indicated that overweight group had improper mineral nutrition status. Therefore, nutrition education and profound studies from many different focus for overweight groups are highly required.
남자 중학생의 식품 중량과 열량을 중심으로 한 영양교육 효과에 관한 연구

This study was planned to suggest countermeasure of nutrition education by investigating adolescents, dietary behavior, food weight, and acknowledgement of food calories. 210 middle school boys were selected and asked to fill out the questionnaire. The subjects were divided by nutrition education experience; 1st grade who received nutrition session and 3rd grade who divided subjects. In terms of acknowledgement of food calories subjects nutrition education experience had more recognition for calories than the other group(p<0.01). When one bowl of rice, a potato, a bowel of kimchi and a carrot were asked. However recognition for meats, fishes and eggs were not different between two groups. Among milk and dairy foods the educated group showed high recognition both calories and weight of a piece of cheese than the other(p<0.05). The educated group showed better recognition for calories and weight of tea-spoon of butter, a tea spoon of oil and a tea-spoon of mayonaise, compared to the other group(p<0.01, p<0.05, p<0.05). Also the educated group showed better recognition for calories and weight of a packet of shrimp snack than the other group. The results of this study suggest that nutrition education improved the recognition of calories and weights of foods in study subjects. Also, the number of foods recognized for their calories and weights was higher among subjects who received nutrition education. These results will influence the choice the food by adolescents. Also the nutrition education are thought to be more effective by using photographs or food models, not just by lectures on theories.
Issues pertaining to Mg, Zn and Cu in the 2020 Dietary Reference Intakes for Koreans

In the current years, it has now become necessary to establish standards for micronutrient intake based on scientific evidence. This review discusses issues related to the development of the 2020 Dietary Reference Intakes for Koreans (KDRI) for magnesium (Mg), zinc (Zn), and copper (Cu), and future research directions. Following issues were encountered when establishing the KDRI for these minerals. First, characteristics of Korean subjects need to be applied to estimate nutrient requirements. When calculating the estimated average requirement (EAR), the KDRI used the results of balance studies for Mg absorption and factorial analysis for Zn, which is defined as the minimum amount to offset endogenous losses for Zn and Mg. For Cu, a combination of indicators, such as depletion/repletion studies, were applied, wherein all reference values were based on data obtained from other countries. Second, there was a limitation in that it was difficult to determine whether reference values of Mg, Zn, and Cu intakes in the 2020 KDRI were achievable. This might be due to the lack of representative previous studies on intakes of these nutrients, and an insufficient database for Mg, Zn, and Cu contents in foods. This lack of database for mineral content in food poses a problem when evaluating the appropriateness of intake. Third, data was insufficient to assess the adequacy of Mg, Zn, and Cu intakes from supplements when calculating reference values, considering the rise in both demand and intake of mineral supplements. Mg is more likely to be consumed as a multi-nutrient supplement in combination with other minerals than as a single supplement. Moreover, Zn-Cu interactions in the body need to be considered when determining the reference intake values of Zn and Cu. It is recommended to discuss these issues present in the 2020 KDRI development for Mg, Zn, and Cu intakes in a systematic way, and to find relevant solutions.

A Multi-Layer ATM Restroration Architecture and Algorithms

In this study, we propose a multi-layer restoration architecture for ATM networks. It consists of three restoration layers. The first restoration layer is based on a preplanned VP restoration scheme. In this scheme, the routes of alternate VPs are prepared by an optimization model that considers network-wide resource utilization and rerouting costs. The second restoration layer is based on a preplanned VC rerouting optimization. In this study, we suggest a "preplanned" VC rerouting optimization to avoid contention between VP restoration and VC restoration on the same network resources. The third restoration layer is based on a new dynamic VP restoration procedure. Some computational experiments have shown the suggested multi-layer restoration architecture and the related algorithms are feasible to implement and effective for the survivable ATM network planning.
