      • 후두 및 하인두 암종에서 p53단백 발현과 Espstein-Barr Virus 검출

        Background and Objectives : When p53 cancer suppressor gene, occurs gene deletion or point mutation, malignancy develops by loss of p53 function with abnormal p53 protein. The Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is the causative agent of certain type of lymphoma and undifferentiated nasopharyngeal carcinoma. However, the role of EBV as a causative factor in other head &eck tumors is not fully elucidated except nasopharyngeal carcinoma. This study, the author examined that p53 expression and detection rate of EBV correlate to development of laryngeal and hypopharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma(SCC) and play the possible role of prognostic indicators. Materials and Methods : Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue specimen from 32 cases of larynx and hypopharyngeal squamous cell carcinomas were studied by immunohistochemical staining for p53 and EBV. The results of analysis were compared with clinicopathological parameters. Results : p53 expression was 56.3% (18 cases) and the detection rate of EBV was 43.6% (14 cases) of 32 cases in laryngeal and hypopharyngeal squamous cell carcinomas. p53 expression was correlate with histologic grade (p<05) only. Detection of EBV was not correlate with clinicopathological parmeters. Conclusion : These results suggest p53 expression and the detection of EBV may be related with development of laryngeal and hypopharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma. And, the expression of p53 protein can be used as a prognosticator in laryngeal and hypopharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma under certain limitation.

      • 만성중이염의 골도청력변화

        We have usually experienced bone conduction impairment in chronic otitis media, but it is unclear that raised bone conduction threshold is due to the reflection of cochlear dam- age and / or Carhart effect ( an artificial elevation of bone conduction threshold due to conductive defect ) or both. The purpose of this study is to verify the influence of the artificial elevation of the bone conduction threshold in chronic otitis media and to estimate Carhart effect. A total of 336 cases of tympanoplasty with unilateral chronic otitis media without any other causes of sensorineural hearing loss was studied. The average threshold levels of the bone conduction in diseased ears ranged from 18.5dB at 4kHz to 12.1dB at 250Hz The longer duration of the disease, the larger perforation size, the more severe damage of the middle ear structure and the presence of the cholesteatoma made bone conduction threshold increased. The postoperative thresholds of bone conduction were Improved in 36 cases (40.4%) of the 89 cases that underwent operation with type I tympanoplasty technique without electrie drilling. The degree of the maximal improvement was 14.3dB at 2000Hz and the minimum was 8.8dB at 250Hz. but these result did differ from a statistically significant degree. The result suggest that the bone conduction threshold in chronic otitis media is elevated artificially by conductive defect and improved by successful reconstructive surgery.

        서류 및 구근류의 중금속 함량

        우리 나라 국민이 많이 섭취하는 서류 및 구근류를 종류별로 나누어 가식부만 취해 중금속 함량을 측정한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 조사된 서류 및 구근류의 Cu 함량 분포는 0.021~0.510ppm으로 0.489ppm의 차이가 났으며 양파의 Cu 함량 분포대는 0.038ppm으로 가장 좁게, 인삼 4년근의 Cu함량 분포가 0.325ppm으로 가장 넓게 나타났다. As 함량을 보면 최저는 고구마와 양파로 0.012ppm, 최고는 인삼 6년근으로 0.027ppm이었다. As 함량의 전체적인 분포는 N.D~0.070ppm으로 분포대가 가장 좁은 것은 생강으로 0.002ppm, 가장 넓은 것으로 감자로 0.070ppm이었다. Zn 함량 분포대는 0.143~3.137ppm으로 분포대가 가장 좁은 것은 고구마로 0.046ppm, 가장 넓은 것은 마늘로 2.475ppm이었다. 2. Pb 함량 분석 결과 최저는 감자 0.001ppm, 최고는 고구만 0.112ppm으로 나타났다. 더덕, 생강의 Pb 함량은 각각 0.100, 0.107ppm으로 비교적 높게 나타났으며 도라지 Pb 분포대가 N.D~0.372 ppm으로 가장 넓게 나타났다. Cd 함량에서 최저는 무, 알타리무로 검출되지 않았으며, 최고는 우엉과 더덕이 0.005ppm으로 대부분의 시료들에서 거의 미량 검출되었다. Cd 함량 분표는 N.D~0.009ppm으로 분포범위가 비교적 좁게 나타났다. Hg 함량 분포는 0.001~0.195ppm으로 0.194ppm 분포대를 보였으며, 생강이 0.001ppm으로 가장 좁게 알타리무가 0.184ppm으로 가장 넓은 분포대를 보였다. 3. 중금속 섭취량에 따른 안정성 평가에서 서류에 의한 각 중금속의 주간 섭취량을 보면 Cu 0.807㎍, As 0.064㎍, Zn 2.596㎍, Pb 0.243㎍, Cd 0.009㎍, Hg 0.026㎍, 구근류에 의한 각 중금속의 주간 섭취량은 Cu 4.700㎍, As 0.628㎍, Zn 18.224㎍, Pb 2.249㎍, Cd 0.066㎍, Hg 0.430㎍으로 잠정주간섭취허용량(PTWI)과 비교하였을 때 매우 낮은 수준으로 섭취시 위해성은 거의 없을 것으로 조사되었다. ▷표 삽입◁(원문을 참조하세요.) This study was conducted to estimate the contents of 6 trace metals in potatoes and root vegetables purchased in wholesale market in the Seoul region. specifically, Cu, As, Zn, Pb, Cd and Hg. The minimum and maximum results obtained for each metal are summarized as follows for potatoes; Cu : 0.094 ~ 0.344, As : N.D ~ 0.070, Zn : 0.247 ~ 1.547, Pb : N.D ~ 0.268, Cd : N.D ~ 0.005, Hg : 0.001 ~0.027, and for root vegetables; Cu : 0.021~0.510, As : 0.004 ~ 0.045, Zn : 0.143 ~ 3.137, Pb : N.D ~ 0.372, Cd : N.D ~ 0.009, Hg : 0.001 ~O.195. The daily intakes of trace metals from potatoes and root vegetables were estimated on the basis of the daily intake of these foods by Koreans, which were 0.073 ~22.253 and 0.567 ~ 156.219㎍ from potatoes and root vegetables, respectively. The weekly intakes of trace metals were 0.009 ~2.596 and 0.066 ~ 18.224㎍ for potatoes and root vegetables, respectively. The weekly intakes of trace metals for potatoes and root vegetables were very much lower than the PTWI(provisional tolerable weekly intake), enough to be within a safe range.

        키토산을 첨가한 콤포짓트 레진의 기계적 성질과 항균성에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this study was to evaluate the mechanical and anti-microbial properties of newly prepared chitosan G for human gingival fibroblast. Compressive strength, diametral tensile strength and tensile strength of specimens of resin composite, with or without chitosan G incorporated, were measured. Using a SEM (S-4700, Hitach, Japan), pictures of microbes were taken and adherent capability of microbes to the surface of resin composite was investigated. The results were as follows; 1. The values of compressive strength, diametral tensile strength and tensile strength, composite resin containing 7㎎/㎖ chitosan G were higher than the control group(p>0.05) but composite resin containing 40 ㎎/㎖ chitosan G were either the same or lower than the control group(P<0.05) 2. The MIC of newly prepared chitosan G for S mutans KCTC 3065 and C albicans KCTC 7965 were more than 2 ㎎/㎖. 3. The adherent capability of microbes significantly decreased as the amount of chitosan G increased in the test specimens compared to the control group for C aibicans KCTC 7965 (P<0.05) but there was no statistical significance for S mutans KCTC 3065(p>0.05) . 4. The cytotoxicity of newly prepared chitosan G for human gingival fibroblast was not showed. In conclusion, resin composite with chitosan G incorporated did not show any statistically significant difference for mechanical properties (p>0.05) but it showed a significant antimicrobial effect against C albicans (P<0.05).

        표고 폐골목으로 제조한 목질보드의 성질

        要約표고폐골목의 재활용을 목적으로 폐골목과 정상재의 칩을 일정비율로 혼합하여 얻은 목질보드의 성질을 조사, 검토하였다. 그 결과 폐골목의 목섬유는 정상재보다 다소 짧고 표 면이 거칠었으며 폐골목 변재부의 밀도는 정상재에 비해 상당히 낮았다. 파티클보드의 두께 팽윤율 및 파괴계수의 시험결과 폐골목을 25~50% 정도 혼합한 경우는 정상재와 비슷한 값 을 나타냈다.결론적으로 폐골목은 파티클보드의 재료로 사용될 수 있고 정상재와의 혼합비율은 25~50% 범위에서 조정되어야 할 것으로 생각되었다.ABSTRACTTo provide further information for reutilization of the bed-logs decayed by oak mushroomfLentinus edodes), the properties of wood-based board prepared with mixed materials of normal wood and bed-logs were examined.Wood fibers in bed-logs showed different morphology from normal wood fibers, that is, shorter length and rough surface. Thickness swelling increased with increasing mixing ratio of bed-log. On the other hand, modulus of rupture(MOR) in bending strength decreased. In products, the visual surface of board prepared from higher mixing rate of bed-log chips was smooth.Consquently, it is considered that the optimum mixing rate of bed-log to normal wood is the range of 25-50% and the bed-log can be used for raw material of board instead of normal wood.

        보조기를 이용한 족관절 외과 골절의 비수술적 치료

        목적: 이번 연구의 목적은 보조기를 이용하여 최소 전위된 족관절 외과 골절의 보존적 치료 결과를 알아보는 것이다. 대상 및 방법: 11명 (11예)의 환자들이 수상 후 8주간 전 체중 부하 보행으로 보존적 치료를 받았다. 적응증으로는 3㎜ 이하의 골절 전위, 내과 부분의 동통과 부종이 없거나 있어도 미약한 경우, 거골의 외측 전위가 없는 경우로 삼았다. 환자들은 AOFAS (the American Orthopedic Foor and Ankle Society) Ankle-Hindfoot Scale에 의해 평가받았다. 결과: 평균 103주 (36~192주)의 추시 관찰을 하였으며, 전례에서 발목 관절의 운동 범위는 정상이었다. 평균 AOFAS Ankle-Hindfoot Scale 점수는 95점이었다. 결론: 보조기를 이용한 보존적 치료의 장점은 조기에 전 체중 부하 보행을 하며 일상생활 및 사회생활을 영위할 수 있다는 것, 환자의 편안함, 그리고 재활 치료 기간의 단축이었다. 그러므로 최소 전위된 족관절 외과 골절에 보조기를 이용한 보존적 치료는 권할만하다. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the outcome of conservative treatment for minimal displaced lateral mallolar fracture using ankle brace. Materials and Methods: Eleven patients (eleven ankles) underwent conservative treatment with ankle brace for 8 weeks with full weight bearing ambulation. Inclusion criteria were minimal displacement (<3㎜) of fracture, no or mild tenderness or swelling on medial malleolar area and no lateral shift of talus. The patients were evaluated with AOFAS (the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle society) Ankle-Hindfoot scale. Result: Average follow up was 103 weeks (36~192). All cases had normal range of motion of ankle. The average score of AOFAS Ankle-Hindfoot scale was 95 points. Conclusion: The advantages of conservative treatment with ankle brace were early return to daily activity and work, comfort to the patients and a short period of rehabilitation. Conservative treatment with ankle brace for minimal displaced lateral malleolar fracture is recommended.

        환경친화성 계면활성제를 이용한 어병균의 살균효과

        The antibacterial effect amino acid-copper(Ⅱ) surfactant on fish pathogens was studied. Fish pathogens of Edwardsiella tarda, Vibrio anguillarum, Aeromonas hydrophila and Streptococcus sp. were selected, cultured in nutrient agar and adjusted at 2 × 10 exp (5)∼10 exp (6) CFU/㎖ in phosphate buffer saline before the addtion of amino acid-copper(Ⅱ) surfactant with different concentrations. All tested pathogens died within 1 hour with 1 ppm of amino acid-copper(Ⅱ) surfactant. In comparison with formalin and ET, amino acid-copper(Ⅱ) surfactnat was more effective in antibacterial capacity.

      • 양측성 관상동정맥루 1예

        저자들은 호흡곤란, 흉부불쾌감, 심계항진 등을 주소로 내원한 환자에서 경흉부 및 경식도 심초음파 검사상 주폐동맥에서 이완기에 전행하는 지속적인 혈류의 흐름을 관찰하고, 관상동맥 조영술을 통해 좌전하행지 중간부위와 우관상동맥 근위부에서 각각 기시하여 공통경로를 이루면서 주폐동맥으로 유입되는 양측성 관상동정맥루를 보이는 드문 1예를 경험하였기에 문헌 고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. A coronary arteriovenous fistula is infrequently encountered vascular communication between a coronary artery and a cardiac chamber, a great artery or the vena cava. It is the most common congenital anomaly that can affect coronary perfusion. Bilateral involvement of coronary fistula constitutes an uncommon subgroup of coronary arteriovenous fistulas. A 69 year-old female patient presented with chest discomfort, palpitation, and dyspnea. In the echocardiography, doppler color flow imaging visualized abnormal flow signals with mosaic appearance in the main pulmonary artery during diastolic phase. Coronary angiography revealed arteriovenous fistula arising from the left anterior descending artery and the right coronary artery. Both coronary arteriovenous fistulas drained into the main pulmonary artery. We report a case of bilateral coronary arteriovenous fistula that was confirmed by echocariography and coronary angiography.

      • 비수용매에서 전이금속 Ni(II) 착물의 전기화학적 연구

        Tridentate schiff base ligand salicylidene-2-iminophenol(SIPH₂) was prepared by the reaction of salicylaldehyde with 2-aminophenol, a its Ni(II) complex was synthesized. The structure and properties of the ligand and its complex were studied by elemental analysis, ¹H-NMR, IR, UV-visible spectroscopy, and thermogravimetric analysis. The mole ratio of Schiff base to the metal of complex was found to be 1:1. Ni(II) complex was contemplated to have hexa-coordinated octahedral configuration containing three water molecules. The redox process of ligand and complex in DMSO solution containing 0.1 M TBAP as supporting electrolyte was investigated by cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry with glassy carbon electrode. The redox process of the tridentate Schiff base ligand was totally irreversible. The redox process of Ni(II) complex was quasi-reversible and diffusion-controlled as one electron by one step process Ni(II)/Ni(I). Therefore we conclued that the redox process of complex are as follows : ??
