      • 全羅南北道 水域의 管束植物相과 그 分布

        吉奉燮,尹敬源,盧範鎭,金昌煥 圓光大學校 基礎自然科學硏究所 1989 基礎科學硏究誌 Vol.8 No.3

        全甫北 地域에 있는 6個 江과 고 流域에서 水生植物, 濕生植物과 水邊植物을 조사하였더니 水生植物은 57種類, 濕生植物은 74種類, 水邊植勃 123種類로 나타났다. 이들을 다시 分類하면 56科 145屬 190種 1亞種 27變種 1品種 總 219種類가 된다. 水生植物 中에는 抽水植物이 52.6%', 浮葉植物 21.7%, 沈水植物 19.3%, 浮水植物이 7%를 차지하고 있었다. 이들 中 頻度가 비교적 높은 식물은 검정말, 개구리밥, 노랑어리연꽃이었고 全般的으로 볼 때 優占襪은 검정말이었으나調査地點別로 差異가 있었다. 生物量(g/m^2)은 마름 2,935,5, 물잔디 1.050, 검정말 877.7, 물닭개비 847.1, 애기가래 806.9의 순으로 生量平均値를 기록했고, 乾量(g/m^2)으로는 마름225.4, 물잔디 90.3, 검정말 86.6, 대가래 78.6이었다. 調査地域 中에서 保護할 價値가 있는 곳은 耽津江이고, 植物은 여러곳에 나는 것으로 자라풀,노랑어리연꽃, 순채를 들 수 있다. To investigate the rearing environment of aquatic vascular plants and thechange of its spontaneity, field work was carried out in 6 rivers and theirdrainage basins located in Cholla-nam-but-do area. The flora was composed of 56 families, 145 genera, 190 species, 1 subspecies,27 varieties and 1 forms or 219 taxa; 57 species of hydrophytes, 74 of hygrophytes and 123 of waterside plants, Among hydrophytes emerged plant (E,52.6%), floating-leaved plant (FL,21.7%), submerged plant (S,19.3%) and freefloating planktonic plant (FP, 7%) were occupied, respectively. Dominant species was Hydrilla verlicillaia, but differed according to investigated. A significant place obseryed was Tamjin river and species to beprotected were Hydrocharis dubia, Nympkoides pellata and Braenia schreberi.

        쿠싱병의 임상적 고찰

        Cushing's syndrome caused by ACTH secreting pituitary adenoma or by corticotroph hyperplasia in referred to Cushing's disease. Since the original description of Cushing's disease by Harvey Cushing in 1932, lthere has been marked progression in the etiology, diagnosis and treatment of this disorder. Despite the progression, the diverse clinical, endocrinological and pathological features of Cushing's disease remin incompetely understood and there also remain many problems to be resolved about the diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of Cushing's disease. Sixteen cases with Cushing's disease were evaluated in this study. The follwing results were obtained. 1) The patients consist of 12 females and 4 males and the age was ranged from 18 to 47 years. 2) Among 16 patients, 14 patients showed central obesity and buffalo hunp, 13 moon face. Among 12 female patients, 10 patients showed abnormalities of menstration. 3) Elevated levels and loss of diurnal variation of the serum cortisol were observed in all patients, and increased 24hr urine free cortisol in 11 out of 12 patients tested. Urinary cortisol excretion was not suppressed by low dose dexamethasone suppression test but suppressed by high dose dexamethasone test. 4) Computed tomogram and MRI revealed that 15 casese were micreadenoma and 1 was macroadenoma. 5) The modalties of treatment were TSA (11 cases), TSA with Radiotherapy (2 cases), and r-knife radiosurgery (3 cases). 6) During the follow up periods(2~31 months), 2 cases were recurred. In conclusion, 15 cases of 16 Cushing's disease were microadenoma. The standard dexamethasone suppression test was useful in the biochemical diagnosis, and inferior petrous venous sampling was also needed to clarify the localization of tumor which was not detected by MRI or CT scan.( J Kor Soc Endocrinol 8: 273~280, 1993).

      • RET 유전자 배선 돌연변이가 확인된 제2형 다발성 내분비선종증 (MEN 2A) 1예

        저자들은 언니가 갑상선 종양으로 절제술을 시행받은 가족력이 있고 당뇨병의 증상으로 내원한 47세 여자 환자가 양측 갑상선 종괴와 양측 부신덩이를 동반한 다발성 내분비선종의 특징을 보여, 생화학적 검사 및 영상학적 검사로 MEN 2A로 잠정적으로 진단한 후 갑상선 전절제술 및 양측 부신제거술로 양측성갑상선수질암과 갈색세포종을 진단하고 유전자 분석에서 RET 원발암유전자의 codon 618의 돌연변이를 확인였기에 문헌 고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. Multiple endocrine neoplasia 2A (MEN 2A) is an autosomal dominantly inherited disease, composed of medullary thyroid carcinoma, pheochromocytoma and hyperparathyroidism. The activation of germ-line mutations in the RET proto-oncogene are responsible for MEN 2. The analysis of the RET mutations has replaced the measurement of the calcitonin level in the diagnosis of the MEN carrier state. Specific RET codon mutations correlate with the MEN 2 syndromic variant, the age at onset of the medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) and the aggressiveness of the MTC. Herein, our experience of a 47-year-old woman, who had a bilateral pheochromocytoma and MTC, and MEN 2A confirmed by the detection of an RET proto-oncogene mutation at axon 10 on codon 618, is reported. Her sister was found to have the same mutant gene. After a total thyroidectomy and bilateral adrenalectomy, the calcitonin and catecholamine levels were normalized, and the patient discharged without problems. This case is reported, with a review of the literature (J Kor Soc Endocrinol 18:481∼488, 2003).

        Interactions between Hyaluronic Acid, Lysozyme, Peroxidase, and Glucose Oxidase in Enzymatic Activities at Low pH

        Purpose: Many substances in saliva or oral health care products interact with each other. The aim of this study was to investigate interactions between hyaluronic acid (HA), lysozyme, peroxidase, and glucose oxidase (GO) in enzymatic activities at low pH levels. Methods: HA (0.5 mg/mL), hen egg-white lysozyme (HEWL, $30{\mu}g/mL$), bovine lactoperoxidase (bLPO, $25{\mu}g/mL$), and GO ($50{\mu}g/mL$) were used. The influences of HA, bLPO, and GO on HEWL activity were determined by measuring the turbidity of a Micrococcus lysodeikticus suspension. The influences of HA and HEWL on bLPO activity were determined by the NbsSCN assay, measuring the rate of oxidation of 5-thio-2-nitrobenzoic acid (Nbs) to 5,5'-dithiobis(2-nitrobenzoic acid) $(Nbs)_2$. The influences of HA and HEWL on GO activity were determined by measuring oxidized o-dianisidine production. All experiments were performed at pH 4, 5, and 6. Results: HA and GO did not affect the enzymatic activity of HEWL at pH 4, 5, and 6. bLPO enhanced the enzymatic activity of HEWL at pH 5 (p<0.05) and pH 6 (p<0.05) significantly. The enzymatic activity of bLPO was not affected by HA and HEWL at pH 4, 5, and 6. HA and HEWL did not affect the enzymatic activity of the GO at pH 4, 5, and 6. Conclusions: Peroxidase enhances lysozyme activity at low pH, otherwise there were no significant interactions in enzymatic activities between HA, lysozyme, peroxidase, and GO at low pH levels.

        In-Service Identification of the Heterogeneous Zone in Petrochemical Pipelines by Using Sealed Gamma-Ray Sources $(^{60}Co,\;^{137}Cs)$

        In-service diagnoses of pipeline facilities are important for a systematic maintenance of them. Field applications by using sealed gamma-ray sources $(^{60}Co,\;^{137}Cs)$ were performed to identify the heterogeneous zone in the pipelines of a distillation tower and a flare stack respectively. From the results, the heterogeneous zones in the pipelines were successfully identified. In the case of the pipeline connected to the distillation tower, a vapor pocket was detected in the fluid under hydrodynamic conditions, which could explain the reason for a decrease of the flow rate. In another case, an area with some amount of catalyst deposits was found at the bottom of the gas pipeline which was connected to the flare stack. And these findings provided important information for the process operators. Diagnosis technique by using gamma radiation sources has been proven to be an effective and reliable method for providing information on a media distribution in a facility.

        전신마취하 유방 양성 종양 수술 후 발생한 양안 급성폐쇄각발작

        Purpose: To report a case of bilateral acute angle closure crisis after general anesthesia for a benign neoplasm of the breast surgery. Case summary: A 60-year-old female complained of bilateral ocular pain and visual disturbance after recovering from general anesthesia for wide excision of the left breast operation. Visual acuity was finger count and intraocular pressure (IOP) was measured as 50 mmHg in the right eye and 60 mmHg in the left eye. Slit lamp exam revealed cornea edema, conjunctival injection, and shallow central anterior chamber and narrow peripheral angle in both eyes. Acute angle closure crisis due to anesthetic agent was suspected. The symptoms improved after she was prescribed hypotensive eye drops, acetazolamide, and Osmotic diuretic medication. The next day of the surgery, IOP decreased to 10/10 mmHg and anterior chamber depth was 1.94 mm in the right eye and 1.88 mm in the left eye. Cup to radio was 0.6/0.7 in fundus photography and superotemporal and inferotemporal retinal nerve fiber layer defect was observed in the left eye using optical coherence tomography. Conclusions: It may be necessary to examine the patient for primary angle closure (PAC) and inspect the history of PAC even before non-ocular surgery, especially in patients with risk factors such as old age and female. Careful monitoring is required during the recovery of general anesthesia for ocular symptoms considering the possibility of bilateral acute angle closure crisis.

        나이관련황반변성과 당뇨황반부종에서 브루크막 개방 최소 시신경유두테 폭의 반복성

        목적: 스펙트럼영역 빛간섭단층촬영에서 망막신경섬유층(retinal nerve fiber layer, RNFL) 두께와, 브루크막 개방 최소 시신경유두테폭(Bruch’s membrane opening-minimum rim width, BMO-MRW)은 높은 반복성을 보인다는 연구들이 있었지만, 다양한 망막질환에서 반복성에 대한 연구는 아직 부족하다. 따라서 삼출성 나이관련황반변성 및 당뇨황반부종 환자에서 RNFL 두께 및 BMO-MRW의반복성에 대해 연구하였다. 대상과 방법: 본 연구는 전향적인 연구로, RNFL 두께와 BMO-MRW를 총 2회 촬영하였고, 급내상관계수와 상대표준편차를 통해 반복성을 분석하였다. 시신경유두주위막(optic disc membrane)이 확인되는 경우 중증도에 따라 3가지 그룹으로 나누어 분석하였다. 결과: 삼출성 나이관련황반변성 48안과 당뇨황반부종 환자 51안이 본 연구에 참여하였다. 급내상관계수는 삼출성 나이관련황반변성의 평균 RNFL 두께와 평균 BMO-MRW 측정값에서 각각 0.996와 0.997이었으며, 당뇨황반부종에서는 각각 0.994와 0.996이었다. 상대표준편차는 삼출성 나이관련황반변성에서 0.60%, 0.73%이고, 당뇨황반부종에서 1.10%, 1.21%였다. 평균 BMO-MRW의 반복성에 영향을 주는 인자로 시신경유두주위막이 확인되었다(B=0.814, p<0.001). 결론: 당뇨황반부종과 삼출성 나이관련황반변성 환자에서 RNFL 두께와 BMO-MRW 측정은 매우 좋은 반복성을 보여주었으나, 시신경유두주위에 시신경유두주위막이 중증인 경우 반복성에 영향을 줄 수 있으므로 BMO-MRW 결과 해석에 주의가 필요하다. Purpose: To evaluate the repeatability of retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thickness and Bruch’s membrane opening-minimum rim width (BMO-MRW) measurements by spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) in wet age-related macular degeneration (wAMD) and diabetic macular edema (DME). Methods: This was a prospective study. The RNFL thickness and BMO-MRW parameters for each sector and global average were measured twice by SD-OCT. Repeatability was evaluated using the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) and coefficient of variation (CV). If the optic disc membrane was confirmed, it was analyzed by dividing it into three groups based on severity. Results: A total of 99 eyes (48 with wAMD, 51 with DME) were included in the analysis. The ICCs of the global RNFL thickness and global BMO-MRW measurements were 0.996 and 0.997, respectively, in wAMD and 0.994 and 0.996, respectively, in DME eyes. The CV values of global RNFL thickness and BMO-MRW were 0.60% and 0.73%, respectively, in wAMD eyes and 1.10% and 1.21%, respectively, in DME eyes. The disc membrane on the optic nerve head significantly affected global BMO-MRW repeatability (B = 0.814, p < 0.001). Conclusions: Both RNFL thickness and BMO-MRW measurements showed good repeatability in eyes with wAMD and DME. The severity of the optic disc membrane significantly affected the repeatability of BMO-MRW measurements in eyes with wAMD and DME. Therefore, physicians should examine the BMO-MRW in eyes with severe optic disc membrane.
