Central cord syndrome (CCS) is the most common incomplete spinal cord injury (SCI) syndrome, occured by cervical hyperextension injury. It is characterized by disproportionately greater motor impairment in the upper extremities compared to the lower extremities, bladder dysfunction, and variable degrees of sensory loss below the level of injury. Recently 36 year-old male was admitted with upper motor neuron weakness, sensory loss in the upper extremities and stiff neck. We report the improvement of his symptoms through both western medical treatment and oriental medical treatment.

건설 장비와 함께 많은 작업자들은 건물 해체작업이나 재해 복구 등의 매우 위험하고 유해한 상황에 노출되어 있다. 건설 장비를 운용하는 대부분의 작업자들은 예상치 못한 문제에 쉽게 노출된다. 위험한 상황에서 무인 제어 시스템을 통해 자동화된 건설 장비를 운영하는 것은 매우 효과적인 것임에는 분명한 사실이다. 따라서 이런 시스템에 대한 개발이 많이 연구되고 있다. 본 연구는 기존의 원격 제어 시스템이 가지는 단점을 보완하고, 다중 이음쇠 형태의 전달 메커니즘을 적용한 장착형 시스템을 개발한다. 또한 굴삭기 조작기와 개발하는 장착형 조작기의 워크스페이스를 매핑함으로써 기존의 굴삭기가 가지는 고유의 작동성을 유지하면서 원격 조작이 가능한 시스템을 개발한다. Many works with the construction machines have been under dangerous and harmful situations such as building dismantlement, disaster restoration and so on. Most of operators who deals with construction machinery are easily exposed to unexpected problems. Under dangerous circumstance, it is evident to be more efficient to utilize the automated construction machinery operated by unmanned control system. Thus, there have been many researches about developing this kind of system. In this research, the existing remote control systems have to overcome the disadvantages, and multi-yoke type applied in the form of transfer mechanism is developed. Also, the joystick of excavator and development of installation type manipulator through the mapping of the workspace, the same as the existing method of operation of the excavator work ing directly the excavator will enable the same behavior.

The anti-asthmatic activities of the extract of Lonicera japonica (BuOH fraction) and its mode of action were investigated using several in vitro and in vivo models. Lonicera japonica was extracted with 30% ethanol (v/v) and successively partitioned into BuOH. The BuOH fraction reduced antigen-induced contraction of isolated trachea from sensitized guinea pigs in a concentration-dependent manner. The BuOH fraction also inhibited histamine release from rat peritoneal mast cells induced by antigen or calcium ionophore A23187 ($IC_{50}=0.26$ and 0.32mg/ml, respectively). Eosinophil infiltration into bronchoalveolar lavage fluids induced by aeroallergen challenge in passively sensitized guinea pigs was inhibited by the BuOH fraction at a dose of 800mg/kg (51.7%). In addition, the BuOH fraction inhibited leukotriene $B_4$ prodution in rat basophilic leukemia cells ($IC_{50}=0.42\;mg/ml$) as well as phosphodiesterase 4 (PDE4) isolated from rat brain ($IC_{50}=0.015\;mg/ml$). All results from this study strongly suggest that the BuOH fraction of Lonicera japonica may be useful in the treatment of asthma and its mode of action may be related with inhibition of both 5-lipoxygenase and PDE4 enzyme.
시호(柴胡)가 뇌허혈유발 노령(老齡) 흰쥐의 해마 c-Fos 및 c-Jun 발현에 미치는 영향

Objectives : In this study, aged BCAO rats were used to observe the effect of Bupleuri Radix on brain ischemic injury because aging is an important factor in storke. Methods : The brain ischemic injury was induced by temporary closing carotids on both sides in a low blood pressure state, and Bupleuri Radix was orally administered to 18 month-old BCAO rats. The ischemic damaged hippocampus and c-Fos and c-Jun expression were analyzed by the immunohistochemical staining. Result and Conclusions : Results are summarized as fellows; 1. The c-Fos expression after inducing a brain ischemic injury in the hippocampus was more inhibited in the experimental group than in the control group. 2. The normalized optical density of c-Fos expression was more reduced in cornu ammonis(CA)1, dentate gyrus(DG) areas in the experimental group than in the control group. 3. The c-Jun expression after inducing a brain ischemic injury in the hippocampus was more inhibited in the experimental group than in the control group. 4. The normalized optical density of c-Jun expression was more reduced in CA1 and DG areas in the experimental group than in the control group.
미세먼지 유도 기도염증에 대한 배암차즈기 추출물의 호흡기 보호 효과

Background: Small particles increase airway inflammation upon reaching the alveoli. Here, we investigated the protective or therapeutic effects of Salvia plebeia R. Br. (SP_R) extracts on airway inflammation. Methods and Results: To investigate the anti-inflammatory activity of SP_R extracts, we measured their inhibitory effect on the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) expression of inflammatory mediators, and immune cell infiltration in MH-S alveolar macrophage cells and in the ambient particulate matter (APM)-exposed airway inflammation mice model. The SP_R extracts inhibited the production of ROS and expression of IL-4, IL-10, IL-15, and IL-17A mRNA in APM-stimulated MH-S cells. Oral administration of SP_R extracts suppressed APM-induced inflammatory symptoms, such as high alveolar wall thickness, excess collagen fibers, decreased mRNA expression of chemokines (Ccr9, Ccl5, Ccr3), inflammatory cytokines (IL-15, TNF-${\alpha}$), and IL-4 Th2 cytokine in the lung. The SP_R extracts also inhibited ROS production, granulocyte ($CD11b^+Gr-1^+$) infiltration, IL-17A, TNF-${\alpha}$, macrophage inflammatory protein (Mip-2), and chemokine (C-X-C motif) ligand 1 (Cxcl-1) production in the airway. The specific compounds in the SR-R extracts that mediate the anti-inflammatory effects were identified. Conclusions: In this study, SP_R extracts effectively inhibited airway inflammatory responses, such as ROS production and granulocyte infiltration into the airway, by regulating the expression of chemokines and inflammatory cytokines.
