(Background and Purpose) In modern interior design, expressions, objectshas ahave functional and durable characteristics relevant to spatial areas. The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the characteristics of objective material expression within a space and public criteria for establishment of such expression. (Method)In this study, artistic and theoretical examinations were conducted regarding the characteristics of material expression within a space. The case analysis of artistic works, was based on a waiting area in a medical space; since from 2005 until recently, the area was the subject of analysis in monthly publications of Interior, MARU, and INTERNI. (Result)Findings from this study revealed that elements of objective material expression in the medical space aroused users` behavior as a(i.e., functional element) exhibited durability, reflected geometric order and non-decorative features, and performeda communications function (i.e., design language)to connect humans and space.
피부색 검출 및 특징점 추적을 통한 원거리 손 모션 제스처 인식

본 논문에서는 손 모션에 대하여 피부색 검출을 기반으로 전역적인 모션을 추적하고 모션 벡터를 생성하여 제스처를 인식하는 방법을 제안한다. 추적을 위하여 Shi-Tomasi 특징점 검출 방법과 Lucas-Kanade 옵티컬 플로우 추정 방법을 사용한다. 손 모션을 추적하는 경우 손의 모양이 다양하게 변화하므로 초기에 검출된 특징점을 계속적으로 추적하는 일반적인 방법으로는 손의 모션을 제대로 추적할 수 없다. 이에 본 논문에서는 프레임마다 새로운 특징점을 검출한 후 옵티컬 플로우를 추정하고 이상치(outlier)를 제거하여 손 모양의 변화에도 추적을 통한 모션 벡터 생성이 가능하도록 한다. 모션 벡터들로 인공 신경망을 사용한 판별 과정을 수행하여 최종적으로 손 모션 제스처에 대한 인식이 가능하도록 한다.

Objective: The antioxidant and anti-Alzheimer effects of Semen Ziziphi Spinosae (SZS) water extract against the amyloid beta peptide (1-42) or H202-induced oxidative damage and cell death were investigated in rat pheochromocytoma line PC 12. Methods: The cells were incubated with SZS water extract and oxidative damage-inducing materials, amyloid beta peptide (1-42) or H2O2 for 24 h. The cellular viability was assessed by WST-1 assay, cytotoxic damage by LDH activity assay, oxidative damages of cells by fluorescence spectrophotometric method, and apoptosis by TUNEL staining assay. Results and Conclusions: 1. Preincubation of the cells with SZS water extract prior to amyloid beta peptide (1-42) (2 uM) or H2O2 (30 uM) exposure elevated the cell survival close to the control and decreased the level of LDH activity and the fluorescence from the cell homogenates and TUNEL staining of the cells, compared to only amyloid beta peptide (1-42) (2 uM) or H2O2 (30 uM) treated conditions. 2. Our study suggests that Semen Ziziphi Spinosae (SZS) water extract has protective effects against amyloid beta peptide (1-42) or H2O2-induced cell toxicity through the antioxidation mechanism, which might be beneficial for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease.
한국인(韓國人) 남(男).여(女) 50-60대(代)의 사상체질별(四象體質別) 안면형태(顔面形態)에 관(關)한 표준화(標準化) 연구(硏究)

1. Background and Purpose The faces of human being change as they grow older. Therefore, we must consider the changes of the face when we diagnosed the Sasang Constitution of men through the analysis of facial appearance. As a study of all the standardization researches about the morphology of face, I carried out this study about the 50's and 60's of Korean men and women according to Sasang Constitution. 2. Objectives The object of this study is selected from the patients who were already diagnosed Sasang Constitutions at the department of Sasang Constitutional Medicine in Kyunghee Oriental Medical Center. The number of the patients were 74 men and 73 women in 50's and 60's. The number of general age group were 182 men and 180 who were also diagnosed Sasang Constitutions at the department of Sasang Constitutional Medicine at the same period. 3. Method I took the photographs of front view and lateral view of the objectives by digital camera and obtained the 200 measure through the facial measurement program. I compared the measure of 50's and 60's by three constitutional groups and I also compared the measure between 50's to 60's and all ages by three constitutional groups. 4. Results In men group, the measures which made differences by each constitutional groups were 17, and they were 6 in 50's and 60's. In women group, the measures which made differences by each constitutional groups were 52, and they were 33 in 50's and 60's 5. Conclusion (1) In the men group of 50's and 60's, Taeumin showed wide bigonial breadth, Soyangin showed long brow and Soumin showed big eyes. (2) In the women group of 50's and 60's, Taeumin showed the longest level of facial length, width and metopion head length, Soyangin showed metopion head length was long and the nose was also long, Soumin showed the ratio of brow in the face didn't make any difference with other constitutions and the metopion head length was short. (3) The measures which made differences were more in the all ages than in the 50's and 60's. It means that the differences decrease as they grow older, especially in 50's and 60's.
전국 피부과 전공의 수련병원에서의 피부 병리에 관한 실태 조사

Background: There is no report on the actual conditions and current educational status of dermatopathology in Korean the literature, implying that the interest in dermatopathology, which is important in clinical practice, is drawn away. Objective: This study was performed to investigate the actual conditions of dermatopathology. Based on the collected data, we could set up the directions for the development of dermatopathology. Methods: From April to June 2012, we conducted a survey of 62 dermatologic training hospitals and 328 residents working in the dermatology department in Korea, respectively, by mail, anonymously. Results: Residents` satisfaction of current dermatopathology education was significantly higher in tertiary hospitals and in hospitals with numerous dermatologists. The number of performed skin biopsies per week was also significantly larger in tertiary hospitals. Of tertiary hospitals and hospitals with numerous dermatologists, lectures given by dermatologists or dermatologists specialized in dermatopathology took a higher proportion in the dermatopathology course, and in-hospital dermatopathology conferences were held more than 5 times a month. Conclusion: As shown in the result of this survey, to enhance interest in dermatopathology, we suggest activation of the Korean society for dermatopathology and joint conferences among local hospitals. 1. Background and Purpose The faces of human being change as they grow older. We could know the characters of the each ages, through the facial comparison between the 30's, 40's and the 50's, 60's. As a conclusion, I carried out this Study because I thought that the errors of diagnosis would be reduced a lot through the standardization researches about the morphology of faces. 2. Objectives The object of this study is selected from the patients who were already diagnosed Sasang Constitutions at the department of Sasang Constitutional Medicine in Kyunghee Oriental Medical Center. The number of the patients were 69 men in 30's and 40's, and 74 men in 50's and 60's. 3. Method I took the photographs of front view and lateral view of the objectives by digital camera and obtained the 200 measure through the facial measurement program. I compared the measure of 50's and 60's with 30's and 40's by independant t-test. 4. Results 28 measures are different 30's and 40's with 50's and 60's in Soyangin, 31 measures in Soeumin, 40 measures in Taeumin. 5. Conclusion (1) Soyangin showed wider interpupillary distance in 30's and 40's than 50's and 60's. They also showed the large brow and cheek and their lips were thick and prominent and their ophyrion were prominent and their noses were wide and large and they showed wide bigonial breadth in 30's and 40's than 50's and 60's. (2) Soeumin showed the position of ears were higher and the brows were longer and larger in 30's and 40's than 50's and 60's. The width of both eyebrow were wider in 50's and 60's than 30's and 40's. The lower 2/3 portion of the face was longer and the shape of head was longer in vertical in 50's and 60's than 30's and 40's. (3) Taeumin showed the wider brow in 30's and 40's than 50's and 60's. The width of each eyes was wider and the width of cheek and face was larger, too. The ophyrion was prominent and the mouth was bigger and the face showed longer in 50's and 60's than 30's and 40's. (4) The upper 1/3 portion of the face was large in 30's and 40's and the lower 2/3 portion of the face showed large and long in 50's and 60's regardless Constitution.
