복숭아 발효주를 개발하기 위하여 "유명" 과실에 효소 및 열처리하여 착즙수율을 측정하고 청주용 효모와 포도주용 야생 효모로 발효시킨 복숭아술의 성분과 기호성을 조사하였다. Pectinase와 cellulase를 혼합 처리한 경우 착즙수율이 89.2%로 가장 높았고 pectinase, hemicellulase와 cellulase등을 단독으로 처리했을 때도 80%이상의 착즙수율을 보였다. 복숭아술의 총산은 0.30%에서 0.36%이었다. 에틸알코올올 함량은 포도주용 야생 효모인 Saccharomyces cerevisiae 49-2가 14.5%로 가장 높았으나, 기호성은 고온성 효모인 Saccharomyces cerevisiae D-71로 발효시킨 술이 가장 좋았다. Juice yield of peach "Yoo Myung" by pretreatment of various enzymes and heat was determined, and physicochemical properties of peach wine fermented by some Saccharomyces cerevisiae were also investigated. 89.2% of juice yield was showed in mixture treatment of pectinase and cellulase at 35℃ for 8 hrs, 82% of yield was also showed in single treatment of pectinase and cellulase. Ethyl alcohol content of peach wine fermented by wild type Saccharomyces cerevisiae 49-2 was 14.5%. However, wine from thermophilic Saccharomyces cerevisiae D-71 was excellent in taste and flavor.

This study investigates the performance of the reinforced concrete frame with the steel plate slit damper. The test was carried out to investigate the structural behavior between the reinforced concrete bare frame and the reinforced concrete frame with the steel plate slit damper. The test results showed that the energy absorption capacity of the damped-frame was several times larger than that of the bare frame. For the damage by the input energy is concentrated on the steel plate slit damper, the ductilities of the former structure were increased and the damaged frame can be reused after exchange the steel plate slit damper.

본 연구는 각종 첨단 기자재를 활용한 강의 현대화 방안을 모색함으로서 공학교육의 효율성을 도모하고 학생들의 학습동기를 유발하여 창조적 능력을 갖츤 전문기술 인력을 양성하는 데 도움을 주고자 하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 현행 공학교육의 현황과 문제점을 분석하고 강의 현대화 사례를 조사하여 본 연구의 기초자료로 삼고자 하였으며, 학부·전공별 강의 현대화 추진 실태분석 및 개선방안을 모색한 후 이상의 연구결과를 종합하여 향후의 강의 형대화 추진방향을 걸정하였다. This study aims to help bring up the well-skilled and creative engineers by searching the modernization of education using various high technology facilities. For this, we analyzed the general condition and problems of current engineering education and surveyed the case study of the modernization of education as basic study. After analyzing the existing situation of promotion searching the proper improvement methods of it, we proposed the new direction of the modernization of education from now on.
Clinical Features according to the Frequency of Acute Exacerbation in COPD

Background: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is now regarded as a heterogenous disease, with variable phenotypes. Acute exacerbation of COPD is a major event that alters the natural course of disease. The frequency of COPD exacerbation is variable among patients. We analyzed clinical features, according to the frequency of acute exacerbation in COPD. Methods: Sixty patients, who visited Gyeongsang National University Hospital from March 2010 to October 2010, were enrolled. Patients were divided into two groups, according to their frequency of acute exacerbation. Frequent exacerbator is defined as the patient who has two or more exacerbation per one year. We reviewed patients` medical records and investigated modified Medical Research Council (MMRC) dyspnea scale, smoking history and frequency of acute exacerbation. We also conducted pulmonary function test and 6-minute walking test, calculated body mass index, degree of airway obstruction and dyspnea and exercise capacity (BODE) index and measured CD146 cells in the peripheral blood. Results: The number of frequent exacerbators and infrequent exacerbators was 20 and 40, respectively. The frequent exacerbator group had more severe airway obstruction (forced expiratory volume in one second [FEV1], 45% vs. 65.3%, p=0.001; FEV1/forced vital capacity, 44.3% vs. 50.5%, p=0.046). MMRC dyspnea scale and BODE index were significantly higher in the frequent exacerbator group (1.8 vs. 1.1, p=0.016; 3.9 vs. 2.1, p=0.014, respectively). The fraction of CD146 cells significantly increased in the frequent exacerbator group (2.0 vs. 1.0, p<0.001). Conclusion: Frequent exacerbator had more severe airway obstruction and higher symptom score and BODE index. However, circulating endothelial cells measured by CD146 needed to be confirmed in the future.

Background: Beneficial effects of Korean Red Ginseng (KRG) on polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) remains unclear. Methods: We examined whether pretreatment (daily from 2 hours before PCOS induction) with KRG extract in water (KRGE; 75 and 150 mg/kg/day, p.o.) could exert a favorable effect in a dehydroepian-drosterone (DHEA)-induced PCOS rat model. Results: Pretreatment with KRGE significantly inhibited the elevation of body and ovary weights, the increase in number and size of ovarian cysts, and the elevation of serum testosterone and estradiol levels induced by DHEA. Pretreatment with KRGE also inhibited macrophage infiltration and enhanced mRNA expression levels of chemokines [interleukin (IL)-8, monocyte chemoattractant protein-1), proinflammatory cytokines (IL-1β, IL-6), and inducible nitric oxide synthase in ovaries induced by DHEA. It also prevented the reduction in mRNA expression of growth factors (epidermal growth factor, transforming growth factor-beta (EGF, TGF-β)) related to inhibition of the nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cell pathway and stimulation of the nuclear factor erythroid-derived 2-related factor 2 pathway. Interestingly, KRGE or representative ginsenosides (Rb1, Rg1, and Rg3(s)) inhibited the activity of inflammatory enzymes cyclooxygenase-2 and iNOS, cytosolic p-IκB, and nuclear p-nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B in lipopolysaccharide-induced RAW264.7 cells, whereas they increased nuclear factor erythroid-derived 2-related factor 2 nuclear translocation. Conclusion: These results provide that KRGE could prevent DHEA-induced PCOS via antiinflammatory and antioxidant activities. Thus, KRGE may be used in preventive and therapeutic strategies for PCOS-like symptoms.
