        두경부 마사지가 중환자실 환자의 수면과 불안에 미치는 효과

        Purpose: This study was to apply head and neck massage to patients in intensive care unit and to inventigate the effect of that massage on sleep and state anxiety. Method: The subjects in this study were 27 patients who were admitted in medical intensive care unit. The study was performed from June thru September of 2005 on the One-group pretest-posttest design and the sleep, state anxiety of the subjects were measured before and after head and neck massage. For data analysis, paired t-test and Pearson correlation coefficient were utilized. Result: The first hypothesis that the subjects might have a better sleep after being exposed to head and neck massage was accepted. The second hypothesis that the subjects might feel less state anxiety afrer being exposed to head and neck massage was accepted. The third hypothesis that the sleep of the ICU patients maight be correlated to their anxiety was accepted, as there appeared correlation between their sleep and anxiety. Conclusion: Head and neck massage is identified as one of independent nursing interwentions to improve the sleep of ICU patients and ease their anxiety, and it is necessary to apply it to clinical practices.

        However, Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is still helpful procedure for the diagonosis of the pancreatobiliary disease and treatment through endoscopic sphinterectomy (EST) is relatively safe, these have possiblity of complications such as hemorrhage, infection, panceatitis, and perforation. ERCP related perforation was rarely reported in 0.3 to 1.1% of previous study, but most serious complication. A report of Pneumomediastinum, Tension Pneumothorax complicating perforation after ERCP and EST is very uncommon. In our hospital, we experienced case of pneumomediastinum, subcutaneous emphysema, and tension pneumothorax after ERCP and EST, and the patient (a 58 years old female with suspicious common bile duct stone) was treated successfully with conservative treatment.

      • NDE 및 생체자기 계측을 위한 SQUID 응용

        SQUID is the most sensitive magnetic sensor known. It is able to detect the magnetic field as small as few femto Tesla (fT), which is equivalent to one of 10 billionth of earth magnetic field (about 50 ??T). SQUID can be applied in the various fields and its need will be increased greatly in the future. If SQUID is applied in the medical technology, there will be improvement in accurate diagnosis of brain and heart by supplying more information about the functions of such human organs. The nondestructive evaluation (NDE) of deep-lying flaws in the inner layer of lab jointed structures of aircraft, which is very difficult with the existing method became possible using high T_c SQUID. In this paper, the current status of SQUID applications in both medical and NDE fields will be reviewed.

      • 만성중이염의 골도청력변화

        We have usually experienced bone conduction impairment in chronic otitis media, but it is unclear that raised bone conduction threshold is due to the reflection of cochlear dam- age and / or Carhart effect ( an artificial elevation of bone conduction threshold due to conductive defect ) or both. The purpose of this study is to verify the influence of the artificial elevation of the bone conduction threshold in chronic otitis media and to estimate Carhart effect. A total of 336 cases of tympanoplasty with unilateral chronic otitis media without any other causes of sensorineural hearing loss was studied. The average threshold levels of the bone conduction in diseased ears ranged from 18.5dB at 4kHz to 12.1dB at 250Hz The longer duration of the disease, the larger perforation size, the more severe damage of the middle ear structure and the presence of the cholesteatoma made bone conduction threshold increased. The postoperative thresholds of bone conduction were Improved in 36 cases (40.4%) of the 89 cases that underwent operation with type I tympanoplasty technique without electrie drilling. The degree of the maximal improvement was 14.3dB at 2000Hz and the minimum was 8.8dB at 250Hz. but these result did differ from a statistically significant degree. The result suggest that the bone conduction threshold in chronic otitis media is elevated artificially by conductive defect and improved by successful reconstructive surgery.

      • 교량진동의 사용성평가를 위한 현장시험및 분석

        The main purpose of this research is to evaluate the vibration serviceability of highway bridges and investigate various influential parameters of the vibration characteristics through field experiments as well as analytical works. The evaluation criterion of vibration serviceability are generally based on the natural frequency and amplitude of vibration in terms of either displacement or acceleration of a structure. In this study, the serviceability criterion proposed by Meister are employed. Dynamic loading tests are performed with 4 bridges. Some of them are reported as bridges with vibration problem. Others are selected randomly. The parametric studies by field tests and analytical evaluation are performed with various factors such as bridge types, vehicle weights, traveling speeds, road roughness, etc. Finally a systematic and rational evaluation process for vibration serviceability of highway bridges are suggested.

      • Seed Germination in the Vitaceae : Ⅰ. Responses of Parthenocissus tricuspidata Seeds to Stratification and Temperature

        Influence of moist chilling at 3°C and subsequent germination temperature on seed germination of Parthenocissus tricuspidata (Sieb. & Zucc.) Planch. Was studied. 1.Seed germination of P. tricuspidata increased between 20° and 25°C by prolonged chilling of 8 to 12 weeks. 2.Percent seed germination was higher at 20°C than 25°C, but germination rate was higher at 25°C. 3.Length of time for germination(LTG) and germination span (GS) in days were decreased by prolonged chilling. LTG and GS were also lower at 25°C than 20°C. 4.P. tricuspidata seemed to be a dark germinating species.

      • TPA로 야기된 HL-60 세포의 기질부착 저해작용을 이용한 Protein Kinase C 저해 생약의 탐색

        Thirty-five kinds of herbal drugs, believed to be active for treatment of tumors, were selected as the experimental materials for observing their effects on TPA-induced adherence of HL-60 cell and activity of protein kinase C. They were extracted with ethyl ether(E) and ethyl acetate(EA), methanol(M) in sequence. Among the extracts, Sophorae Flos(EA), Paeoniae Radix(EA), Equisetum hiemale(EA), Phellodendri Cortex(E, EA), Mori Cortex radicis(EA), Ferula assafoetida(E, EA), Sophora subprostrata(EA, M) and Cnidium monnieri(E) inhibited the TPA-in-duced adherence of HL-60 cell more than 50% and Sophorae Flos(E, EA, M), Paeoniae Radix(E, EA, M), Eguisetum hiemale(E), Phellodenri Cortex(E,H), Mori Cortex radicis(M), Ferula assafoetida(M), Sophora subprostrata(EA, M), Cnidium monnieri(M) and Artemisia argyi(M) showed inhibiting effects on the activity of protein kinase C more than 50%. The extracts showing good inhibiting effects on the adherence and enzyme activity were Sophorae Flos(EA), Paeoniae Radix(EA), Phellodendri Cortex(E), Sophora subsprostrate(EA) and Equisetum hiemale(EA).

        아동의 눈-사지 협응과 물체조작 기술의 관계

        본 연구의 목적은 아동의 눈-사지 협응 능력과 물체조작 기술의 차이를 알아보고, 두 변인군의 관계를 구명하는 데 있다. 피험자는 남?여 5-10세의 아동 186명을 대상으로 하였다. 눈-사지 협응 능력은 예측 타이밍 능력, 추적 능력, 전신 반응 능력을 측정하여 분석하였으며, 물체조작 기술은 TGMD(Test of Gross Motor Development)에서 제시한 받기, 던지기, 치기, 차기, 튀기기 기술을 평가하였다. 먼저 눈-사지 협응 능력과 물체조작 기술의 연령과 성별에 따른 특성을 알아보기 위해 이원 변량분석을 실시한 결과, 5세의 아동 집단은 전반적으로 수행능력이 6세, 7세, 8세, 9세, 10세의 아동에 비하여 수행능력이 떨어졌으며, 10세의 아동은 다른 연령 집단에 비하여 우수한 수행능력을 나타냈다. 이러한 결과는 5-6세, 9-10세의 연령 시기가 눈-사지 협응 능력과 물체조작 기술이 변화되는 시기임을 나타내주고 있으며 이는 연령에 따른 특징을 보여주는 것이다. 다만 눈-사지 협응 능력과 다르게 물체조작 기술에 있어서는 성별에 따른 수행 능력이 9세와 10세의 연령 집단에 있어서 상반된 특징이 나타났다. 즉 남자 아이들의 경우, 9세의 연령 집단과 비교하여 10세의 연령 집단은 물체조작 기술의 수행 능력이 급격하게 증가한 반면에 여자 아이들은 수행 능력이 떨어지는 특징을 보였다. 또한 눈-사지 협응과 물체 조작 기술간의 관계를 알아보기 위해 정준 상관분석을 실시한 결과, 두 과제간 상관계수 .599로 통계적으로 유의한 상관관계를 보였다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 눈-사지 협응 능력과 물체조작 기술의 관계를 설명해 주는 각 변인들의 상대적 기여도를 살펴보면, 눈-사지 협응 능력에서 손과 발을 사용한 예측 타이밍 능력이 추적 및 전신 반응 능력보다 높은 기여도를 보였다. 또한 물체조작 기술에 있어서는 받기와 튀기기 능력이 눈-사지 협응 능력과 물체조작 기술의 상관관계를 설명하는데 많은 기여를 하는 것으로 나타났다. The purpose of this study was to investigate the difference of eye-limb coordination and the object-control skills with age and sex, and examine the relationship between two-variable groups. For this experiment, 186 children with the age of 5 to 10(99 boys and 87 girls) participated in the study. The eye-limb coordination ability(anticipation timing ability, pursuit ability and reaction ability) and the object-control skill(catching skill, throwing skill, striking skill, kicking skill, bouncing skill) suggested in TGMD(Test of Gross Motor Development)were tested. The two-way ANOVA was used to present the characteristics of the eye-limb coordination ability and the object-control skills according to age and sex. As a result, children with the age of 5 demonstrated the lowest performance while children with the age of 10 showed high performance significantly among age groups. The children with the age of 5 to 6 and 9 to 10 were found to be two critical periods of change with age. However, unlike the eye-limb coordination ability, there was a distinctive feature in the object-control skills of the age 9 and 10 over sex. 10 year-old boys showed a radical progress, but the 10 year-old girls showed a decline on the object-control skills compared with the 9 year-old. A canonical correlation analysis was used to examie the relationship between the eye-limb coordination and the object-control skills for the early childhood. The relationship revealed significantly showing canonical correlation with coefficient .599. Overall, the results indicated the eye-limb coordination ability such as anticipation timing ability with hand and foot showed higher role than pursuit and reaction ability. In addition, the object control skills such as catching and bouncing ability contributed importantly in explaining the relationship between the eye-limb coordination ability and the object control skill.
