Objective: Occupational medicine specialists in the Busan, Ulsan and Kyung-Nam areas established an area-based occupational disease surveillance system and used this system to collected case information for the purpose of preventing occupational diseases Methods: l l hospital participated in this system. The authors selected five main diseases, which were hand-arm vibration syndrome (HAVS), work-related musculoskeletal disorder (WRMSD), occupational asthma, occupational skin disease and occupational and occupational lung cancer and established their case definitions. All cases were reported on the web, and real time analysis was conducted. Results: Between April 2001 and April 2003, 192 cases of HAVS, 118 cases of WRMSD, 33 cases of occupational asthma, 17 cases of occupational skin disease and 17 cases of occupational lung cancer (for a total of 377 cases of these five main diseases) were reported. most of the HAVS cases came from shipbuilding, and 172 of them (92.7%) were associated with grinding. Of the four main types of WRMSD, carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) was the most prevalent with 46 cases and shipbuilding was also the main industry involved (83.9%). The ergonomic risk factors involved mainly associated with the hand. In 19 (57.6%) and 4 (12.1%) cases of occupational asthma, the agents involved. The causative agents of occupational lung cancer included Cr, welding fume, PAH, Ni, etc. 10(58.8%) of the cases were diagnosed as squamous cell carcinoma and 5(29.4%) as adenoma. Conclusion: This result showed that an area-based occupational disease surveillance system might provide an effective method of evaluating the prevalence of such diseases, however the Busan, Ulsan and Kyung-Nam provinces are too large to be treated as individual areas. Therefore, the authors suggest that each province should establish its own surveillance system.

The mixture of PbO-Bi₂O₃-B₂O₃(PBB) phase was formed in the Ba0.5Sr0.5TiO₃(BST) film and the effects of PBB phase on the dielectric properties of the BST film were investigated. The amorphous PBB layer was deposited on the BST film using rf magnetron sputtering and diffused into the film by heat treatment. The PBB phase in BST film was identified by energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS). Dielectric properties of BST film were significantly improved after the diffusion of PBB. The leakage current density of BST film decreased from 3.24×10(-5) A/㎠ to 9.45×10(-8) A/㎠ at 1.5 V and the dielectric constant increased from 238 to 533. These results show that the formation of insulating metal oxide in the ferroelectric film can improve the dielectric properties of the film.

Component-based systems are generally known as useful for maintenance and extension. However, there are a number of difficult aspects in designing them, and skillful knowledge of component-based design is strongly requested. Against the problem, this paper presents a User Interface tool that helps to develop component-based healthcare systems more easily and effectively. This UI tool has been developed, aiming at enabling easier and faster development of such systems. Further it supports standardization and interoperability. We expect that use of the UI tool helps to add, delete, change medical contents, and maintain related systems with less effort and better performance.
중추에서 Prostaglandin계가 Renin-angiotensin System에 미치는 영향

Role of prostaglandins on the renin-angiotensin system in the central nervous system was examined in normotensive and 2-kidney, 1 clip (2K1C) hypertensive rats. The experiment was done under thiopental (50 ㎎/㎏, IP) anesthesia. Captopril and indomethacin were injected into the right lateral cerebral ventricle. Arterial blood pressure and heart rate were recorded from the femoral artery. Intracerebroventricular (ICV) captopril (1 ㎎) caused a decrease in mean arterial pressure in both normotensive and 2K1C hypertensive rats. The depressor response to captopril was more sensitive in hyper-tensive rats than in normotensive rats. Indomethacin treatment (ICV, 200 ㎎) altered the depressor response to captopril neither in normotensive nor in hypertensive rats. These results suggest that the cardiovascular effect of renin-angiotensin system in the central nervous system may not be mediated via prostaglandin systems in normotensive and 2KlC hypertensive rats.

Effects of intracerebroventricular captopril on the central pressor response to bradykinin were examined in normotensive and 2-kidney, 1 clip (2KIC) Goldblatt hypertensive rats. The experiment was done under pentobarbital (50 ㎎/㎏. IP) anesthesia. Captopril (1 ㎎)and bradykinin (5 nmol) were administered into the right lateral cerebral ventricle, while arterial blood perssure and heart rate were continuously monitored throughout the experiment. Intracerebroventricular captopril did not affect the blood pressure within 10 minutes in both normotensive and 2KIC hypertensive rats, while it significantly augmented the central pressor response to bradykinin in the hypertensive rats. These observations suggest that an elevation in endogenous kinin levels is without effect on arterial pressure in normotensive and 2KIC hypertensive rats. However, the kallikreinkinin system in the central nervous system plays a role in the regulation of blood pressure, possibly maintaining the hypertension, in 2KIC hypertensive rats.
시차주사열량분석기를 이용한 치과용 접착시멘트의 경화기전 및 반응열에 관한 연구

The working time of dental cement has a close relation with the setting time, where the setting reaction can be said as the result of the chemical reaction between cement liquid and powder. The purpose of this experiment was to investigate the setting characteristics and setting rate of dental cements by measuring the exothermic heat(Joule/gram) from the setting reaction at specified times using a differential scanning calorimeter (Differential Scanning Calorimeter, DSC 204, TASC 414/3A Controller, Netzche, Germany). Graphs of time-exothermic heat at 37℃ isothermal condition, showing the setting reaction of dental cements were plotted. Three types of luting cements studied were zinc-phosphate cement (ZPC), polycarboxylate cement (PCC), and glass ionomer cement (GIC). The effects of powder-liquid ratio on the setting characteristics of cements were also included. The amount of heat (calory) released per one gram of cement was calculated at each specified time, and was analyzed. ANOVA and Scheff's multiple comparison test (p=0.05) were used for statistical analysis using SPSS/PC+. The setting rate of cement was not constant during the setting reaction, and different setting characteristics were observed depending on the type of cement and powder/liquid ratio. Generally, 70∼90% of the setting reaction, measured by the exothermic heat release, occurred within 5 minutes after mixing. The exothermic heat released by ZPC was very high immediately after mixing, and the duration of the heat release was prolonged compared with other cements. The exothermic heat release of PCC finished most rapidly. It was generally observed that the amount of heat release (rise in temperature) per one gram of cement was highest for ZPC, followed by GIC, and then PCC. However, heat release during the first 2∼5 minutes after mixing was highest for GIC, followed by ZPC and then PCC. According to the Scheff's multiple comparison test, the duration of the total setting reaction did not show any significant difference among the cements(p>0.05), and also among the different power/liquid ratio groups(p>0.05). It was observed that more heat was released with the lower powder/liquid ratio than the higher powder/liquid ratio.

미래의 ULSI 소자의 게이트 산화막으로 이용하기 위하여 N₂O 가스 분위기에서 기존의 전기로를 이용한 실리콘의 열산화에 의해 N₂O 산화막을 형성하였고, MOS 소자를 제작하여 전기적 특성을 고찰하였다. 900℃에서 90분간 산화한 N₂O 산화막의 경우, 플랫밴드 전압(??), 고정전하밀도(??)와 플랫밴드 전압의 변화량(??)은 각각 0.81 [V], ?? [??]와 80∼95[mV]를 나타내었다. N₂O 산화막의 전기전도기구는 저전계 영역에서는 Fowler-Nordheim 터널링, 고전계영역에서는 Poole-Frenkel 방출이 지배적으로 나타났고, 절연파괴전계는 16 [MV/㎝]로 높게 나타났다. 따라서 N₂O 산화로 형성된 게이트 산화막이 ULSI 소자의 게이트 유전체로 응용이 가능하리라 생각된다. In order to applicate gate insulators in future ULSI devices, electrical properties was investigated in MOS device with N₂O oxide grown by thermal oxidation using conventional furnace in N₂O ambient. For the sample oxidized at 900℃ for 90 min, Flatband voltage(??), fixed charge density(??) and shifts of flatband voltage(??) after BTS was obtained 0.81 [V], ?? [??] and 80∼95[mV], respectively. The dominant conduction mechanism of N₂O oxide appeared to be Fowler-Nordheim tunneling in the low electrical field region(4-6 [MV/㎝]) and to be Poole-Frenkel emission in the high electrical field region( 9 [MV/㎝] or above). Dielectrics breakdown fields of N₂O oxide appeared about 16 [MV/㎝]. These results suggest that the N₂O oxides is a promising candidate for ultrathin gate dielectric for MOS ULSI applications.
