        Conceptual Study for Tissue-Regenerative Biodegradable Magnesium Implant Integrated with Nitric Oxide-Releasing Nanofi bers

        The excessive initial corrosion rate of Mg is a critical limitation in the clinical application of biodegradable Mg implantsbecause the device loses its fi xation strength before the fractured bone heals. This study suggests a new approach to overcomethis hurdle by accelerating tissue regeneration instead of delaying the implant biodegradation. As angiogenesis is anessential process in early bone regeneration, a Mg implant coated with electrospun nanofi bers containing nitric oxide (NO),which physiologically promotes angiogenesis, is designed. The integrated device enables adjustable amounts of NO to bestored on the NO donor-conjugated nanofi ber coating, stably delivered, and released to the fractured bone tissue near theimplanted sites. An in vitro corrosion test reveals no adverse eff ect of the released NO on the corrosion behavior of the Mgimplant. Simultaneously, the optimal concentration level of NO released from the implant signifi cantly enhances tube networkformation of human umbilical vein endothelial cells without any cytotoxicity problem. This indicates that angiogenesis canbe accelerated by combining NO-releasing nanofi bers with a Mg implant. With its proven feasibility, the proposed approachcould be a novel solution for the initial stability problem of biodegradable Mg implants, leading to successful bone fi xation.

        Renal papillary necrosis occurs most commonly in association with urinary tract infection, diabetes mellitus, sickle cell disease, vascular disease, and analgesic nephropathy. Clinical presentation may be related to symptoms of pyelonephritis such as flank pain, renal colic, hematuria, Proteinuria, recurrent fever. The necrotic tissue may be sloughed off, and the diagnosis can sometimes be made by finding piece of renal medullary tissue in the urine. Pyelography may demonstrate cavities and sinuses in the resion of papillae. Anuria & oliguria can lead to the acute renal failure, and especially prognosis and progress may be affect influenced by urinary infection. We report a case of renal papillary necrosis with ingestion of bear gallbladder. On pyelography, Persistent contrast is diagnostic clue of renal papillary necrosis. This case is not be related to urinary tract infection, but occurred acute renal failure. Expectant treatment was gone.

        한국인 직무 스트레스 측정도구의 개발 및 표준화

        Background and Purposes: Over the past three decades, numerous studies performed in Korea have reported that job stress is a determinant risk factor for chronic diseases and work disability. Every society has its own culture and occupational climate particular to their organizations, and hence experiences different occupational stress. An occupational stress measurement tool therefore needs to be developed to estimate it objectively. The purpose of this study is to develop and standardize the Korean Occupational Stress Scale (KOSS) which is considered to be unique and specific occupational stressors in Korean employees. Subjects and Methods: Data were obtained from the National Study for Development and Standardization of Occupational Stress (NSDSOS Project: 2002-2004). A total of 12,631 employees from a nationwide sample proportional to the Korean Standard Industrial Classification and the Korean Standard Occupational Classification were administered. The KOSS was developed for 2 years (2002-2004). In the first year, we collected 255 items from the most popular job stress measurement tools such as JCQ, ERI, NIOSH and OSI, and 44 items derived from the a qualitative study (depth interview). Forty-three items of KOSS, in the second year, were retained for use in the final version of the KOSS by using Delphi and factor analysis. Items were scored using conventional 1-2-3-4 Likert scores for the response categories. Results: We developed eight subscales by using factor analysis and validation process: physical environment (3 items), job demand (8 items), insufficient job control (5 items), interpersonal conflict (4 items), job insecurity (6 items), organizational system (7 items), lack of reward (6 items), and occupational climate (4 items). Together they explained 50.0% of total variance. Internal consistency alpha scores were ranged from 0.51 to 0.82. Twenty-four items of the short form of the KOSS (KOSS-SF) were also developed to estimate job stress in the work setting. Because the levels of the subscales of occupational stress were gender dependent, gender-specific standard norms for both the 43-item full version and the 24-item short form using a quartile for the subscales of KOSS were presented. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that KOSS might be an appropriate measurement scale to estimate occupational stress of Korean employees. Further and more detailed study needs to be conducted to improve the validity of this scale.

      • 大邱市 住居地域 大氣中 粒子狀 多環芳香族炭火水素의 濃度

        본 연구는 도시 주거지역을 대상으로 환경 대기 중에 존재하는 18종류의 다환방향족 탄화수소(PAH)의 농도를 측정하였다. 시료포집은 하절기는 1992년 8월에서 10월까지, 동절기는 1992년 11월에서 1993년 1월까지 Hi-Vol sampler를 사용하여 실시하였으며, 포집된 시료의 분석은 fluorescence 검출기가 장착된 HPLC(High Performance Liquid Chromatography)로 하였다. 본 연구의 실험 결과에서 여름철 14종류의 PAHs농도는 6.44ng/㎥로 나타났고, 겨울철의 농도는 27.55ng/㎥으로 나타났으며, 농도가 가장 높게 나타난 PAH는 Benzo(e)pyrene이었다. Naphthalene, Acenaphthylene, Acenaphthene, Fluorene은 입자상 물질에서 아주 낮은 농도치를 보였고, Fluoranthene, Pyrene, Benz(a)anthracene, Chrysene과 같은 비교적 저분자 PAHs는 여름철 보다 겨울철에 높은 농도치를 나타냄을 알 수 있었다. This study was carried out to investigate the ambient concentration of 18 particulate Polycyclic Aromartic Hydrocarbons(PAHs) in a residental area in Taegu city. The sampling was conducted using Hi-Vol sampling from August 1992 to October 1992 for summer and from November 1992 to January 1993 for winter. The analysis of PAHs was carried out using reversed phase HPLC with fluorescence detection. It was found that the summation of the concentrations of 14 PAHs during summer were 6.44ng/㎥, and during winter were 27.55ng/㎥. The most abundant PAH appeared to be Benzo(e)pyrene. The concentrations of Naphthalene, Acenaphthylene, Acenaphthene, Fluorene were too low to be determined in particulate metter the contribution of lower molecular weight PAH(Fluoranthene, Pyrene, Benz(a)anthracene, Chrysene) during winter was higher than those of during summer, indicating that gas-particle may play a significant role distribution of PAH concentrations in ambient air.

      • TV Show Program에 나타난 연예인의 의복연출이 대학생의 구매행동에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study was to know the effect on entertaiers' fashion in TV show programs on the trend of purchasing behavior of a new generation. Specific point in this study are 1) to examine entertainers' fashion and purchasing behavior 2) to examine the impact of TV show program affecting the purchasing behavior such as the purchasing motivation and obtaining fashion information source 3) to survey the attitude of accepting the fashion in TV show program and to survey an analysis of the rate of clothes in real life and 4) to analysis the relation ship between entertainers' fashion in TV show program and the clothes preference, the degree of purchasing clothes, the wearing preference and purchase preference. This study paralleled the theoretical study with empirical study through the survey information. The questionnaire was distributed to 600 University students who are attending in Pusan, and finally 561 data sets were used for statistical analysis. To survey the influence of fashion in TV show program on University student there were presentations of photo and films of three domestic broadcasting companies (KBS, MBC, SBS), which University students prefer. For an analysis of data, frequency distribution, mean, standard deviation, percentage, F-test, T-test, through SPSS+. The result of the study were as follows; First, University students effected on entertainers' fashion is proved to have a tendency to copy entertainers' fashion. Female students showed higher information source than male. Second, clothing preference degree showed higher purchasing preference degree in entertainers' fashion. Third, in case of their receiving attitude on entertainers' fashion in TV show program, the higher a program is rated on TV, the higher the level, the more mean pocket money, and the mean clothing expenditure were, the higher positive clothing preference degree the clothing purchasing degree, and the wearing preference degree they had. Finally, the correlation of wearing preference degree and purchasing preference degree showed higher for both male and female.

      • 염분적응에 따른 뱀장어 표피의 미세 구조적 변화 : Ⅰ. 상피세포 Ⅰ. Epithelial Cell

        뱀장어, Anguilla japonica의 표피를 구성하는 주종 세포인 상피세포는 80Å 정도의 많은 당김세사를 함유하고 있어서 표피의 골격 유지에 중요한 역할을 하고 있다. 회유행동 측성에 의해, 성숙된 뱀장어는 바다로 나가게 되고 표피는 급격한 환경변화를 겪게 되는데 그 현상들을 살펴보면 먼저 상해반응으로 세포 내의 과립 형질내세망의 내강이 확장되는 현상과 다양한 크기의 공포의 증가로 인해 상피세포들 사이의 공간이 확장되며 일부 세포에서는 괴사 또는 변성되는 형태인 다층층판구조를 갖기도 한다. 이에 대한 능동적 대퍼로 부착반쪽으로 모이는 당김세사들이 일정한 방향성을 갖게 되며, 상피세포 사이의 연접부위에 부착반의 수가 증가되며, 미토콘드리아, 형질내세망 등 세포소기관이 발달되고, 분비과립의 증가 등 분비양상이 증가되고, 능동적인 염배출과 연관된 핵상부의 중앙축을 따라 미토콘드리아 및 과립 형질내세망이 풍부한 세포도 나타났다. 이와 같은 변화는 염분농도의 증가에 따른 환경적요인에 의해 일어나는 상피세포의 기능적 방어기작이라고 사료된다. The epidermis of the Korean eel, Anguilla japonicus, was examined for the study of structural and funcional adaptation mechanism by change in external environment during the migration from fresh water to sea water. The epithelial cell which was observed in the eel epidermis is characterized by the presence of numerous cytoplasmic tonofilaments that attributes to the epithelial structures. Many structural changes were occured in the epithelial cell according to adaptation of high concentration of salt solution. First, Structural lesions were observed. The lumen of rough endoplasmic reticulum was dilated and myelin figures which was suspected to necrosis or denaturation were noted. Extensive cytoplasmic vacuolations were appeared, which caused increase of the intercellular space. Second, active responsive mechanism against the structural lesions in high salinity were observed. Cytoplasmic tonofilaments which attached to desmosome have orientation from central to peripheral region and then aggregrated each other. And number of desmosomes was increased between the cells. The cell organelles which contained mitochondria, small vesicles, et al. were more developed and number and amount of secretory granules were increased than fresh water adapted eel epithelial cell. Mitochondria- and rough endoplasmic reticulum-rich cells which related to active salt secretion were appeared.

      • 119구급차로 이송된 환자의 병원 전 전문응급처치에 관한 조사

        An analysis was performed to evaluate the prehospital advanced emergency care in Emergency Medical Service system(EMS) through the review of the 119 transport records of 190 patients who visited to Jecheon Seoul hospital emergency center at Chungpuk Jecheon via 119 system during the period from October 2002 to September 2003. The results were obtained as follows: 1. Among 190 patients, male were 127(66.8%) and female were 63(33.2%) and non-traumatic patients were 81(42.6%) and traumatic patients were 109(57.4%). 2. The analysis of prehospital care by Emergency Medical Technician(EMT) revealed that Airway maintenance and keeping oral airway(37.7%), oxygen supply(75.9%), Tourniquett or MAST(18.9%), Immobilization of neck or spine(94.7%), Immobilization of extremities(51.4%), wound bandage and dressing(25.0%), BCLS(12.1%) and Application of AED(2 patients). 3. The analysis of prehospital care by EMT revealed prehospital care was limited to keep of intubation or LMA, medication and IV insertion, insertion of gastric tube and ACLS. 4. There was no case of the notification to medical institute or consultation to doctor.

        In present day, components of Artemisiae Carpillaris Herba(A.C.H) was investigated by HPLC method. On condition of ODS-10column, 25% acetonitrile for mobile phase, 254nm of UV Detector, the extracts of A.C.H was analyzed. As the result, peaks of coumarin derivatives, at retention time 2.16 and 2.18, were found.

        전통 발효주로부터 glutathione 고함유 효모 Saccharomyces cerevisiae FF-8의 분리·동정 및 최적 생산조건

        본 연구에서는 glutathione(γ-L-glutamyl-cysteinlyl-glycine)을 다량으로 함유하는 효모 균주를 전통 발효주로부터 분리하여 glutathione 생산 조건을 검토하였다. 분리된 균주는 형태학적, 생리학적 및 생화학적 특성을 검토한 결과 Saccharomyces cerevisiae로 동정되어 FF-8로 명명하였다. Saccharomyces cerevisiae FF-8의 glutathione 생산 조선을 YM(glucose 1.0%, acid peptone 0.5%, yeast extract 0.3%, malt extract 0.3%) 배지를 기본으로 하여 최적 온도, 교반속도 및 초기 pH의 조건을 검토하였다. Glutathione 생산은 30℃, 교반속도 100rpm 및 pH 6.0에서 72시간 동안 진탕 배양하였을 때 가장 높았으며, 이때 glutathione 생산량은 72.0㎎/ℓ이였으며, 건조 균체량은 5.2g/ℓ이었다. In this study, strain of high-producing intracellular glutathione was isolated from Korean traditional rice wine. The isolated strain was identified as Sacharomyces cerevisiae based on the morphological, physiological and biochemical characteristics, and was designated as FF-8. The optimal condition for glutathione production by Sacharomyces cerevisiae FF-8 was obtained after cultivation with shaking for 72 hours in the YM medium. The optimal temperature, shaking rate and initial pH for the glutathione production were 30℃, 100 rpm and pH 6.0, respectively. The dry cell weight and glutathione concentration produced by Sacharomyces cerevisiae FF-8 were 5.2 g/ℓ and 72.0㎎/ℓ, respectively, under the optimal culture condition.

      • 심신장애아 어머니의 장애아에 대한 신체상과 어머니의 자아개념에 관한 연구

        This study is intended to verify a theoretical fact that body image about mentally retarded and physically handicapped child viewed by his/her mother is correlated with the mother's self concept, and to provide basic data for nursing intervention through which his or her mother's possible negative self concept may be changed to positive self concept. The subjects of this study were 74 mothers whose children attended W school (for mentally retarded children and physically handicapped children) in Taecjon City. The tools for this study were Semantic Differential Scale (10 items) developed by Osgood, Body Cayhexis Scale (43 items) by Secord & Jourard, Perceptual Self (20 items) by Choi, Jung Hun, and Self Esteem (10 items) by Rosenberg. The period for data collection was from November 1 to November 30, 1995. The data were analyzed by use of percentage, t-test, ANOVA and Pearson-Correlation Coefficient. The results of the study were as follows; 1. The relationship between body image and general characteristics of subjects showed a statistical significant difference according to diagnosis. In the diagnosis, Semantic differential scale of Body image (P<.05), body Cathexis Scale of Body image (P<.05), total Body image (P<.001) showed statistical significant difference. 2. The relationship between self concept and general characteristics of subjects showed a statistical significant difference according to Mother's education level, Child's birth order. In the mothers's age, perceptual self (P<.05), total self concept (P<.05), In the Mother's education level, perceptual self (P<.01), total self concept (P<.01). In the Child's birth order, self esteem (P<.05) showed statistical significant difference. 3. The correlation between body image were viewed by mothers and self concept of mothers showed statistical significant difference in the body image (Semantic differential scale) and self concept (perceptual self) (P<.01).
