        경막 내 colistimethate 투여로 치료한 다제 내성 cinetobacter baumannii 뇌실염

        Acinetobacter species is a non-fermentative aerobic gram-negative coccobacillus that is an important pathogen found in nosocomial infections. Recently, multi-drug resistant Acinetobacter baumannii (MDR-AB) infections have been increasing and pose a serious problem. Most such infections present as bacteremia, pneumonia, or a wound infection; however, CNS infections are very rare. We herein present a case of ventriculitis caused by MDR-AB in a 37-year old man after a neurosurgical intervention. The patient was successfully treated with intrathecal colistimethate.

        모래다짐말뚝의 원심모델링

        This paper is results of extensive centrifuge model experiments about design factors influencing the bearing capacity and the settlement behaviors of SCP (Sand Compaction Pile). Centrifuge model tests were carried out changing design factors for SCP method such as replacement area ratio (as= 20, 40, 70%), improvement ratio to footing width (W/B = 1, 2, 3), and amount of fines in sand pile (#200 = 5, 10, 15). Therefore, the effects of these design factors on the bearing capacity and the settlement behavior of SCP were investigated and changes of stress concentratio rato due to such an design factors were also investigated. Centrifuge model testing technique for preparing and installing centrifuge model of sand compaction pile, using freezing them, was also developed. As results of centrifuge model tests, more fines in sand compaction pile increases the bearing capacity of SCP. Optimum improvement ratio to footing width was found to be 2. Values of stress concentration ratio was in the ranges of 1.5 - 3.5. The depth of bulging in sand piles was found in the range of 2.0 - 2.5 times of pile diameter.

      • 비만 청소년의 심폐기능과 혈중지질에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this study was to investigate how exercise affect the cardiorespiratory function and level of serum lipids in adolescent obesity. The test subjects were twenty obesity men(obesity group) and twenty general men(general group) enrolled at N.S junior high school in March, 1997. The age of subjects were distributed between thirteen and fifteen. The heart rate(HR), VO_2max, systolic blood pressure, and serum lipids were measured before and after the Ergometer exercise for 12 minutes. All data were processed by IBM package SPSS-PC^+ for statistical analysis. The results obtained in this study were summarized as follows; 1. The %fat were 13.9±1.86% in general group and 24.5±1.68% in obesity group. 2. The Heart Rate at resting were 75.4±7.02beats/min in general group and 85.8±5.53beats/min in obesity group. And the HR after twelve minutes ergometer exercise were 163.2±4.52beats/min in general group, 175.5±5.13beats/min in obesity group. 3. The Systolic Blood Pressure at resting were 117.0±7.32mmHg in general group and 121.0±6.41mmHg in obesity group. And the Systolic Blood Pressure after twelve minutes ergometer exercise were 160.3±6.58mmHg in general group, 169.0±8.67mmHg in obesity group. 4. The VO_2max were 45.38±6.22㎖/㎏/min in obesity group. 5. The serum Total-Cholesterol level at resting were 133.3±16.01㎎/㎗ in general group and 179.9±30.82㎎/㎗ in obesity group. And the serum Total-Cholesterol level after twelve minutes ergometer exercise were 136.5±15.04㎎/㎗ in general group and 184.5±33.14㎎/㎗ in obesity group. 6. The serum Triglyceride level at resting were 61.8±11.77㎎/㎗ in general group and 112,3±22.55㎎/㎗ in obesity group. And the serum Triglyceride level after twelve minutes ergometer exercise were 69.7±12.08㎎/㎗ in general group and 120.9±20.09㎎/㎗ in obesity group. 7. The serum HDL-C level at resting were 48.4±4.97㎎/㎗ in general group and 36.9± 4.69㎎/㎗ in obesity group. And the serum HDL-C level after twelve minutes ergometer exercise were 49.2±4.49㎎/㎗ in general group and 38.9±5.79㎎/㎗ in obesity group. 8. The serum FFA level at resting were 565.1±125.09㎎/㎗ in general group and 679.2 ±179.76㎎/㎗ in obesity group. And the serum FFA level after twelve minutes ergometer exercise were 720.1±131.59㎎/㎗ in general group and 882.9±191.57㎎/㎗ in obesity group.

      • 비소세포암에서 C-erbB-2와 COX-2 발현의 면역조직화학적 관련성

        Background & Purpose: The study for inhibitors of gene products participating in multistep carcinogenetic event of human cancer is important target relevant to chemoprevention or adjuvant therapy of cancer. This study was performed to search basic data for chemoprevention or adjuvant therapy of human non-small cell lung cancer and to evaluate coexpression of each gene product, the relationship between the expression of each gene product and clinicopathologic factor or prognosis. Method: The following formalin-fixed paraffin embedded surgical specimen was immunohistochemically stained by avidin-biotin complex method for C-erbB-2 and COX-2; 55 cases of squamous cell carcinoma and 29 cases of adenocarcinoma of lung. Results: Positive C-erbB-2 and COX-2 expression is more often seen in adenocarcinoma compared with squamous cell carcinoma. Correlation between early and advanced cancer was insignificant. Coexpression of C-erbB-2 and COX-2 expression is more often seen in adenocarcinoma compared with squamous cell carcinoma. Conclusion: These results suggested that degree of C-erbB-2 and COX-2 expression depended upon histologic type of non-small cell lung cancer. However, further studies are required for the determination of significant relationship in coexpression of two gene products and clinicopathologic indices.

      • Cellulose 생합성균주 Acetobacter sp. CBⅡ의 분리 및 특성

        The strain of cellulose-producing CBⅡ was isolated from the traditionally fermented persimmon vinegar, and identified as Acetobacter sp. CBⅡ with respect to physiological and biochemical characteristics. The isolated strain was cultivated statically in broth culture, a thick cellulose pellicle was formed. It was found that the strain was fluorecenced with UV light when the strain was cultivated agar medium contained Tinopal. The strain produced acetic acid from ethanol, and then decomposed acetate to CO₂ and H₂O. Capacity of cellulose biosynthesis from isolated strain was compared with Acetobacter xylinum ATCC 53582. The cellulose produced by the isolated strain was purified and cegraded by HCl. The released sugar was separated on thin layer chromatograpy(TLC) consistent with the degradation product of native cellulose.

      • Cellulose 생합성 세균의 분리 및 특성

        발효시켜서 만드는 감식초에서 시료를 채취하여 배양하고, pellicle을 형성하는 single colony를 cellulose생합성균으로 분리하였다. 분리된 균주는 형태적 특성, 알콜의 재산화 등의 생리, 생화학적 특성 등에 의하여 Acetobacter속으로 분류되었으며, Acetobacter CBI-2라고 명명하였다. Acetobacter CBI-2는 정지배양 시에 기존의 생합성 균주로 알려진 Acetobacter xylinum과 대등한 cellulose생합성 능력을 나타내었다. Acetobacter CBI-2이 생성한 고분자물질의 분해산물을 TLC법으로 확인한 결과 기존 cellulose의 것과 일치하였다. Acetobacter CBI-2에서 genomic DNA를 분리 정제하여 cel A 영역을 probe로 하여 hybridization시킨 결과, 상동성을 나타내어 분리 균주에는 cellulose 생합성 관련 유전자가 존재함을 나타내었다.(1997년 1월 7일 접수, 1997년 2월 24일 수리). A screening was performed to isolate the cellulose-producing microorganisms from vinegar in Korea. The isolated strain was identified as Acetobacter sp. with respect to physiological and biochemical characteristics and designated as Acetobacter CBI-2. Cellulose production of Acetobacter CBI-2 was equal with the well known cellulose-producing bacteria, A.xylinum. The result of separation on thin layer chromatography (TLC) was consistent with the degradation product of native cellulose. The presence of genes required for the cellulose biosynthesis in Acetobacter CBI-2 was confirmed by Southern hybrization.

        Emissions from aircraft have impacts on the air pollution of airport and the surrounding area. There are methods of emissions calculated as Tier 1, Tier2, Tier 3A and Tier 3B. Thus, this study investigated emissions from aircraft at the Gimhae International Airport using EDMS(Emissions & Dispersion Modeling System) program. Results of estimation from aviation emissions, Tier 3B considering all parts which can occur at the airport has the largest amount emissions. In order to understand the relation between aviation emissions and distribution of ozone concentration over airport area, numerical evaluation were carried out. Although the difference of surface ozone distribution between numerical assessment with and without aviation emissions was little, effects of air pollution at airport area from aviation emissions of NOx and VOCs.

      • 식품 중 보존료의 일제분석에 관한 연구

        As the use of preservatives in foods has been increased, the misuse and overuse of preservatives are occasionally occurred. As the variety of food has risen, it is necessary to establish the screening method to determine preservatives in various foods. In this study, benzoic acid, sorbic acid, methyl p-hydroxybenzoate, ethyl p-hydroxybenzoate, i-propyl p-hydroxybenzoate, n-butyl p-hydroxybenzoate were analyzed by TLC and HPLC. In order to determine the recoveries from food, these preservatives were spiked into foods. As a result, solvent systems of 8:2:0.45:0.05 and 12:2:0.45:0.05 of pentane:acetic acid:chloroform:ethanol were appropriate for TLC analysis of preservatives. All preservatives were well resolved with solvent system of 2% ammonium acetate in 2.5% acetic acid:methanol (90/10~10/90) by HPLC. Direct extraction of preservatives from food proved to be more proper than distillation and extraction method. The recoveries by direct extraction method showed 93.7~104.6% of preservatives studied.
