We experienced a 25 year-old male patient with typhoid fever complicated with massive hemoptysis. Pulmonary complication in typhoid fever is very rare and to our knowledge, there has been no report of hemoptysis as a main cause of death with this disease. We herein report a rare case of typhoid fever.
Simulation of Clutch Actuation System for Commercial Vehicle

Generally, a method of a hysteresis loop is used to show the property of the clutch system in the design process. This represents the load by a pedal travel which is a useful data for designing a vehicle for the comfort of the driver. Transfer torque of manual shift gear types for heavy duty vehicles is too high. Therefore unlike passenger car air pressure is added to the clutch system in addition to the fluid pressure. In this case it is hard to predict nonlinear element to control the hysteresis because of the addition of the components. In this paper theoretical model of the system components involving variables such as mass, stiffness and damping is developed and simulated. The results of the actual test of the clutch system are compared with simulation.

In this paper, we present a new buffer pool management scheme designed for video type news objects to build a cost-effective News On Demand storage server for serving users requests beyond the limitation of disk bandwidth. With our proposed buffer cache management scheme, a requested data is check to see whether or not it is worthy of caching by checking its average arrival interval and current disk traffic density, Subsequently, only granted news objects are permitted to get into the buffer pool, where buffer allocation is made not on the block basis but on the object basis. By using this caching policy, the frequently accessed objects are cached and then subsequent streams for those objects are serviced directly from the buffer pool, not contacting the disks where the original copies resides: this eventually leads to the construction of a storage server with relatively low costs.

Centrifuge modelling tests with embankment model on sand-clay composite soils(a type of soil which sand compaction piles are established) at the 15.5 and 20% replacement ratio(a_(s)) and with/without geotextile were performed to comprehend the effect of a_(s), and geotextile on slope stability of embankment From the test results, sand-clay composite soils at the 15.5 and 20% replacement ratio(a_(s)) are safety for slope failure(circular slip) and a geotextile reinforced model is better than a non-reinforced model on overall settlement and upheaval of ground surface in front of embankment.

Physical properties of TiO_2 photocatalyst prepared by sol-gel process and photodegradation behaviors of NH_3 gas over TiO_2 immobilized on glass bead were studied. The surface area and average pore size of photocatalyst C were 148.3m^2/g and 138.3A˚, respectively. The XRD patterns of TiO_2 photocatalyst prepared by sol-gel method which were calcinated 400℃ showed that the catalyst had almost an anatase structure. Optimum thickness of TiO_2 layer was 5㎛ and immobilization frequence was four times. TiO_2 glass bead immobilized by powder coating method was a little better effective than it prepared by sol-gel method, but restriction of supports and economy were less than it immobilized by sol-gel method. The highest treatment efficiency was obtained when the wavelenght of UV lamp was 254nm. The photodegradation efficiency compared with some commercial TiO_2 photocatalyts, TiO_2 photocatalyst prepared by sol-gel method in laboratory is better.

It is clear that while the use of electric melting and holding makes possible very high levels of casting quality and consistency, there are a number of operational factors to be controlled. A prolonged holding of molten iron at a higher temperature is likely to cause an increase in chilling tendency, tensile strength and hardness with the formation of undercooled structures. The post inoculation of materials such as Ca-Si, Fe-Si or graphite can produce the opposite effect but it is limited in its possible quantity, resulted in drop of the temperature of tapped melt. In contrast the furnace addition of iron chips prior to tapping makes castings of satisfied quality with a high level of uncleation a low chilling tendency and a typed graphites graph in the electric furnace melt by suppling active nuclei materials.
알루미나 세라믹스의 분위기 압력변화에 따른 마모특성에 관한 연구

This study was investigated to the tribology characteristics for the alumina ceramics(Al₂O₃) in the variation of ambient pressure. The sliding wear test was carried out under the condition of the various applied load, sliding distance and the ambient pressure with mate specimen made of STB2 stee. The results obtained are as follows : 1. As the ambient pressure decreases, the friction coefficient increases, becasue the protective layer made of absorption substance can not be fromed due to decrease of the amount of ambient gas. 2. The friction coefficient of purity 85% alumina is higher than that of purity 95% and 99.7% alumina because of the influence of heat accumulation. 3. As the applied load increases in each ambient pressure, the friction coefficient increases due to brittle fraction of alumina grain and great action of cohesion. However, the gap of the friction coefficient by the variation of the contact load is small in the vacuum. 4. The friction coefficient regarding the variation of sliding distance increases by on inital 60 meters of the sliding distance, however, the friction coefficient is almost constant after the sliding distance.

겨울감자 비닐하우스를 利用한 4月달 出荷가능성을 검토코져 定植期를 달리한 試驗에서 아래와 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1) 3∼4月 早期 出荷를 위한 겨울감자 비닐하우스 定植時期는 11月 하순부터 12月 上旬이었다. 2) 定植期 萌芽長은 早期定植 할수록 芽長이 짧고 莖數가 적었다. 3) 地上部 生育에서 草長은 對照區에 比하여 11月下旬 早期定植區는 2㎝ 정도 짧았으나 莖이 굵고 강건한 傾向을 보였다. 4) 收穫時期別 10a當 收量은 3月下旬 早期收穫時 對照區에 比하여 11月하순부터 12月상순 定植區는 76∼32%, 12月 中旬 定植期는 13% 各各 增加하였다. This study was carried out to investigate the possibility of April consign when the planting date was different. the results obtained are summarized as follows: 1) The planting date for earlier consign of March, from April, was between the end of November and early of December. 2) According to the planting date, the earlier the planting, the shorter the bud length and the smaller the bud number. 3) Incase of above-ground growth, the height of a potato planted at the end of November was shorter than that of the control. Moreover, the stem was a so thick and steady. 4) In case of harvest at the end of March, yields per 10 a by harvesting time was the trend in comparison with the control.
