        With a view to examining the habit and method in which old people maintain and improve their health, we consulted 551 men and 444 women who were over 65 years old, and concluded as follows: 1. Habit of eating It's been revealed that most of the old people keep a regular eating hour, control the quantity of meal or eat a little food, and prefer vegetables to meat. 2. Mental health Old people feel the necessity for mental health and most of them (about 80%) keep good mental health without becoming pessimistic. Their chief concenrs have turned out to be about their sons and daughters and their own health and finance. 3. Managing Good Health It has been revelaed that old people do not possess any special kind of secret to keep good health but taking plenty of rest, regular meal, and proper exercise, and many of them (about 60%) have been shown to eat invigorant food that they can easily get around their living area. 4. Physical Functions It has been revealed that many old people are conscious of some symptoms about their parts of body and about to percent of them suffers from neuralgia. Some measures like medical aid especially for old people need to be taken as soon as possible. As we have found that the health-keeping method of old people consists plenty of rest, proper exercise, and appropriate nutrition, we can conclude that the recreatonal and culture facilities and programs for keeping old people in good health should be developed. It is also necessary to study food that contribute to their health and develop ways to get rid of the stresses to which they are exposed in their daily life. Presides, it is natural that government found an administrative department to deal with these matters effectively.

      • 허혈성 심질환에 있어서 아데노신 급속 정맥투여후 관동맥압의 변화에 관한 연구

        Background: Adenosine interacts with A1 receptors present on the extracellular surface of cardiac cells, activating K+channels in a fashion. It produces coronary vasodilatation and AV nodal block. The half-time is one to six second and has ultra-short action. In ischemic heart disease, fractional flow reserve(FFR) can be achieved safely with intravenous adenosine infusions at a rate of 150㎍/kg/min which cause maximal coronary hyperemia. Purpose: We investigated the patients who have had ischemic heart disease(n=8). After adenosine intravenous administration(150㎍/kg/min), the effect cause maximal hyperemia of coronary artery. During peak maximal hyperemia, we reported clinical findings, coronary hemodynamics and electrocardiogram findings. Methods: After diagnostic coronary angiography and left ventriculography, catheter was advanced into the ostium of coronary artery. We investigated coronary hemodynamics such as systolic coronary artery pressure, diastolic coronary artery pressure, mean coronary artery pressure and heart rate. To assess the use of adenosine for determination of fractional flow reserve, hemodynamics and electrocardiogram were measured at basal state and during peak maximal hyperemia. Results: Symptoms developed 1.5-2 minute after adenosine intravenous administration and each symptom disappeared 2-2.5 minute after adenosine administration. Two patients represented asymptomatic appearance and six patients complained of flushing, chest pain, palpitation and headache. In eight patients with ischemic heart disease, 1.5 minute after venous administration of 150㎍/kg/min of adenosine, coronary artery pressure decreased and heart rate increased significantly. Conduction abnormalities after administration of 150㎍/kg/min of adenosine were transient 2nd degree AV block 2 cases(25%). Conclusions: Adenosine is a potent ultra short-acting vasodilator. Although coronary artery pressure decreased and heart rate increased and mild cardiovascular symptoms occurred after continuous infusion of 150㎍/kg/min of adenosine, it is useful as an agent for determination of fractional flow reserve.

        클렌부테롤의 피부투과에 미치는 경피흡수촉진제의 영향

        Clenbuterol, a selective β_2-adrenergic receptor stimulant, has been introduced as a potent bronchodilator for patients with bronchial asthma, chronic obstructive bronchial disease, chronic bronchitis and pulmonary emphysema. The percutaneous permeation of clenbuterol was investigate in hairless mouse skin after application of 50/50 buffer(pH 10)/propylene glycol solvent mixture. The enhancing effects of various penetration enhancers such as terpenes, non-ionic surfactants, pyrrolidones, fatty acids and some other enhancers on the permeation of clenbuterol were evaluated using Franz diffusion cell. Among terpenes studied, 1,8-cineole was the most effective enhancer, which increase the permeability of clenbuterol approximately 39.33-fold compared with the control without penetration enhancer, followed by menthone with enhancement ratio of 23.57. Nonionic surfactants did not have significant enhancing effects. N-Lauryl-2-pyrrolidone increased the permeability of clenbuterol approximately 4.51-fold compared with the control. Lauric acid increased the permeability of clenbuterol approximately 35.57-fold with decreasing the lag time from 2.64 to 0.52 hr. Oleic acid, linoleic acid, the permeability of clenbuterol 9.24-fold compared with that without enhancer.

        부신 제거 백서에 티타늄 임플랜트 매식후 주위 골형성에 관한 연구

        The use of dental implants has increased tremendously in recent years and is expected to increase even more in the future. The successful outcome of any implant procedure is surely dependent on interrelationship of the various components of an equation that includes biocompatibility of implant material, macroscopic and microscopic nature of the implant surface, the status of implant bed, surgical technique, undisturbed healing phase and subsequent prosthetic design and long-term loading phase. The purpose of this study was to clarify the effects of adrenalectomy on the osseointegration of pure titanium implants. Seventy rats, 11 weeks of age, were divided into two groups : an adrenalectomized group and a control group. Titanium screw implant(diameter, 2.0mm ; length, 3.5mm) was placed into left tibia of 70 rats, 35 in control group and 35 in the experimental group. The rats were sacrificed at different time interval (1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, and 12 weeks after implantation) for histopathologic observation, histomorphometric analysis and immunohistochemistry with fibronectin and CD44 antibody. The results obtained from this study were as follows : 1.Histopathogically, findings, newly formed bone was seen at 3 weeks control group and became lamellar bone at 12 weeks. At 6 weeks, lipocytes were observed in bone marrow space. Thickness of regenerated trabecular bone increased till 6 weeks after then, that decreased gradually. 2.By histomorphometric analysis, marrow bone density and contact ratio of marrow bone to implant decreased significantly from 8 to 12 weeks in experimental group compared to control group and also total bone to implant contact ratio decreased significantly from 4 to 12 weeks in experimental group compared to control group. 3.Fibronectin immunoreactivity was very strong at 3 and 4 weeks control group. And after that reduced gradually. But it was continuously strong from 1 to 12 weeks experimental group. 4.CD44 immunoreactivity was very strong in the newly formed osteoblasts at 3 and 4 weeks control group. But it reacted minimally later. However, it reacted continuously strong from 3 to 12 weeks experimental group. From these results, bone to implant contact ratio decreased gradually from 4 weeks in adrenalectomized group compared to control group. CD44 and fibronectin immunoreactivities were strong at all times in adrenalectomized rats. Therefore, it could be stated that immature bone remained continuously for a long time and not readily proceeded into mature status.

      • 2-Furyl chalcone유도체에 대한 Thiourea의 친핵성 첨가반응 연구

        The addition reaction kinetics of, 2-furyl chalcone derivatives were investigated by ultraviolet spectrophotometery in 30% dioxane-H2O at 25℃ The structure of these compounds were ascertained by means of ultraviolet, melting point IR and NMR spectra. The final product was 2-furyl chalcone- β -thiourea synthesized by the addition of thiourea for the 2-thienyl chalcone. The rate equations which were applied over a wide pH range (pH 1.0∼ 13.0) were obtained. The substituent effects on 2- furyl chalcone derivatives were studied, and the addition reaction were facilitated by electron acting groups. On the basis of the rate equation and effect of substitutent general base, the plausible addition reaction mechanism was proposed Below pH 4.0 It was only proportional to concentration of hydronium ion, At pH 4.0∼9.0 neutral thiourea molecule or anion competitively attacked on the double bond. Above pH 10.0, It was proportional to concentration of hydroxide ion.

        흰쥐에서 다시마 식이가 메트폴민의 체내동태 및 당 흡수에 미치는 영향

        Drug interactions with food, on occasion, led to serious nutritional and functional changes in the body as well as alterations of pharmacological effect. It, therefore, should be necessary to take drug interactions with food into consideration for effective and safe therapeutics. Diabetes mellitus is a heterogeneous group of disorders characterized by abnormal glucose homeostasis, resulting in hyperglycemia, and is associated with increased risk of microvascular, macrovascular, and neuropathic complications. However, the precise mechanism of diabetes mellitus remins unclear. Three basic objectives in the care of diabetic patients are maintaining optimal nutrition, avoiding hypo-or hyperglycemia and preventing complications. Laminaria japonica is a brown macroalgae which can be used as a functional diet due to high content of diatery fiber. the purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of Laminaria japonica diet on the pharmacokinetics of metformin which are frequently used in the treatment of diabetes. Diabetic rats induced by strep-tozotocin were employed in this study. Blood concentrations of oral hypoglycemic agent, metformin, were measured by HPLC and resultant pharmacokinetic parameters were calculated by RSTRIP. The mechanisms of drug interaction with food were evaluated on the basis of pharmacokinetic parameters such as k_(a), t_(1/2), C_(max), t_(max), and AUC, C_(max), and k_(a), and increase in t_(max), compared to those with normal diet. This oral glucose test showed that Laminaria japonica diet could lower blood glucose level probably through either inhibiting the activity of disaccharidases, intestinal digestive enzymes, or delaying the absorption of glucose. More studies should be followed to fully understand pharmacokinetic changes of metformin caused by ong-term Laminaria japonica diet.

        프레탈^(R)정(실로스타졸 50mg)에 대한 실로졸^(R)정의 생물학적 동등성

        Bioequivalence of two cilostazol tablets, the Pletaal^(R)(Korea Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.) and the Cilozol^(R)(Hanmi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.), was evaluated according to the guideline of KFDA, Sixteen normal male volunteers(age 20~29 years old) were divided into two groups and a randomized 22 cross-over study was employed. After two tablets containing 50㎎ of cilostazol were orally administered. blood was taken at predetermined time intervals and the concentration of cilostazol in plasma was determined with an HPLC method using UV detector. The pharmacokinetic parameters(C_(max), T_(max) and AUC_(t)) were calculated and ANOVA was utilized for the statistical analysis of parameters. The results showed that the differences in C_(max), T_(max) and AUC_(t) between two tablets were 4.99%, 1.74% and 7.68%, respectively. The powers(1-β) for C_(max), T_(max) and AUC_(t) were83.92%, 80.12% and 85.03%, respectively. Detectable differences(Δ) and confidence intervals were all less than 20%, and confidence interval of all the parameters were also less than 20% at the significance level(α) of 0.05. All of these parameters met the criteria of KFDA for bioequivalence, indicating that Cilozol^(R) tablet is bioequivalent to Pletaal^(R) tablet.

      • 호기성 미생물을 이용한 크롬의 생물학적 환원

        Chromium occurs naturally in the earth's crust as well as in air, surface, and ground water. However, chromium is released to the environment in much larger amounts as a result of human activities. Hexavalent chromium, Cr(Ⅵ), is very soluble in water in natural environment and very toxic, carcinogenic, and mutagenic in animal and man. On the other hand trivalent chromium, Cr(Ⅲ), is less toxic and less soluble and thus is a lesser problem. This study has been carried out in order to reduce toxicity of Cr(Ⅵ) by an Escherichia coli strain. After adding E. Coli., the results were obtained from concentration of total Cr, Cr(Ⅵ). Cr(Ⅲ), pH, turbidity, and VSS in aerobic condition was summarized as follows : After 48hr aerobic condition in experiment of synthetic wastewater, the reduction rate of Cr(Ⅵ) was 20%. Also, the reduction rate of Cr(Ⅵ) was 60% in experiment of raw wastewater.

      • 코로나 플라즈마 처리에 의한 HDPE 표면의 개질에 관한 연구

        We are able to generate the stable plasma in open air and nitrogen using a corona plasma treatment system(CPTS) with a high voltage. This was applied to treat the surface of rather non-polar HDPE(High Density Polyethylene) intended for the improvement of adhesion of over-coated layers such as coatings, printing inks. The surface tension of HDPE was significantly improved by the CPTS. The characteristics of surface layer were evaluated by means of contact angle measurement, ATR-FT/IR spectroscopy, and it was found that functional groups were introduced into the surface layer of the HDPE. The use of nitrogen was increased the surface tension of the HDPE from 33.8 mJ/m^2 to 66.56 mJ/m^2, and highly effective method of HDPE surface modification could be realized.
