In the study a 2 dimensional model test was executed to grasp the effect of the taking load of equipments on the ground when improving a soft ground like dredging reclaimed ground. The static load and the dynamic load in the consolidated model ground was 0.02 kg/cm2, 0.03 kg/cm2 and 0.04 kg/cm2 respectively. After consolidating far two months by consolidation load of 0.02 kg/cm2, 0.03 kg/cm2 and 0.04 kg/cm2 respectively, the ultimate bearing capacity was 0.16 kg/cm2, 0.19 kg/cm2, 0.24 kg/cm2 respectively. And the energy price of dynamic load test at the same point as the settlement of static load test indicated E=336~945kgcm, E=252~780kgcm and E=323~727kgcm for each consolidation load. When the static load and the dynamic load operated at the same ground condition, the heaving quantity was bigger in the case of the dynamic load than in the case of the static load, and the horizontal displacement quantity the in the case of dynamic load was exhibited very deficiently compared to the quantity in the case of static load test.

Recently scientists and engineers are developing a system to get waste heat of low-temperature level with advanced heat pump, which have not been used up to now. As the reason, it is necessary to examine capability of using waste heat which is raised up in the tunnel of subway out of widely distributed low-temperature waste heat in large cities. Therefore we surveyed thermal environment of the tunnel of subway in $S\check{o}my\check{o}n$, downtown of Pusan, from November 1995 to December 1996 and developed a program to predict the thermal environment of subway on the basis of experimental data and the geometries of tunnels. This paper has proved availability of waste heat of subway when the measured results obtained in subway in the winter time and the simulated results of thermal environment prediction program are compared, as well as has reported results of estimating reliability of the simulation program. As the result, the charateristics of thermal environment in the tunnel of subway in $S\check{o}my\check{o}n$ station in the winter time are to be followed; 1) temperature in the tunnel is about $10^{\circ}C$ higher than outside air temperature, 2) temperature change in the tunnel is less than that in the platform so that we may obtain stable heat source, 3) and when the measured results obtained in subway in the winter time and the simulated results of thermal environment prodiction program is compared, both results show similar tendency. Therefore, we confirm estimating reliability of the simulation program.

For the purpose of studying postsurgical stability of mandibular prognathism, 18 patients(8 men and 10 women) were selected who underwent sagittal split ramus osteotomy and lateral cephalograms taken preoperatively, immediate postoperatively, and over 6-month follow-up were traced and analysed. The following results were obtained. 1. Average magnitude of setback vas 11.0mm, and aberage relapse was 3.0mm, so the rate of relapse was 27%. 2. Magnitude of mandibular setback contributed to relapse. 3. The patients of less than 10mm setback showed average 10% of relapse rate, and it was of little clinical significance. 4. Proper detachment of pterygomasseteric sling prevention of clockwise rotation of proximal segment and rigid fixation are recommended for the better postoperative stability.
