        공기실이 설치된 건축물 급수관로의 과도압력 특성

        A numerical study has been conducted to characterize the transient pressure in a building water supply system with an air chamber by utilizing a commercial code that employs the method of characteristics. Some results produced for the purpose of verification in the study agree quite well with the previously reported. Several parameters are then varied. Among them are the valve closure time, the wave speed, the static pressure, the polytropic exponent, the air chamber volume, the inner diameter and the shape of orifice in the air chamber, etc, while the water temperature and velocity are kept constant at $20^P{circ}C $, and 0.8 m/s, respectively, Results reported in this parametric study may be useful to understand the unsteady behavior of the system.

        경도 외상성 뇌손상 환자에서 주관적 우울감에 따른 인지 기능의 변화

        ObjectivesZZTo examine the association of subjective depressive symptoms and cognitive dysfunction in patients with mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI). MethodsZZ36 patients with mTBI without structural abnormality in the brain imaging study were recruited. Participants were subdivided into two groups by a cutoff score of 70T in the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI). Cognitive functions including intelligence, memory, and executive function were significantly lower in the <70T group compared to the ≥70T group. In addition, BDI scores were negatively correlated with performances in most of the neuropsychological tests. ResultsZZPatients group who scored 70T or more in the BDI showed significantly lower scores in most items of the neuropsychological tests. ConclusionZZHigh subjective depression is associated with low neuropsychological performance in mTBI.

        유신시대인 1975년에 도입된 교원 재임용제도는 “교수들의 무사안일한 근무자세를 지양하고 학술연구활동을 진작시키며 대학의 면학분위기를 제고한다.”라는 취지로 도입되었지만 실상 권위주의 체제에 대한 교수 집단의 반발을 통제하기 위해 만들어진 것이었다. 이후 정치적인 문제로 이용되는 경우가 많았고, 대학 임면권자의 자유재량행위로 파악되는 등 이를 통한 불법적인 권한남용 행위가 계속되었다.

      • Colles골절의 임상적 고찰

        The Colles' fracture in 26 cases treated through the year, 1986, at the department of orthopedic surgery, Ewha Womans University Hospital, were analyzed and following results were obtained. 1. All of 26 cases was closed fracture and the incidence was high in females who aged over 6 decades. Stable fracture and unstable fracture were same ratio at 13 cases. 2. 13 cases (50%) were in the left wrist, 12 cases (46.2%) were in the right, and 1 remainder (3.8%) in both wrists. 3. As a rule closed reduction was treatment principle. 16 cases (61.5%) were treated with long arm cast, 6 cases (23.1%) with sugar tongue splint, and 4 cases (15.4%) with short arm cast. Average duration of clinical union was 5 weeks.

        광주기에 따른 배초향의 개화 및 화서 발달 특성

        The Korean mint (Agastache rugosa Kuntze) is used as a leaf vegetable. Therefore, it is important to improve the quality and quantity of leaves by maintaining vegetative growth. When the development of a plant is switched from vegetative to reproductive growth, leaf development may be lowered, leading to a decrease in marketability. Therefore, this study was conducted to investigate the effect of the photoperiod on the flowering characteristics and inflorescence development of the Korean mint to select an appropriate photoperiod for leaf production. The seeds were sown in 105-cell trays on 29 November 2021, and planted in each pot on 27 December 2021, when four main leaves appeared. After planting, the light/dark period was adjusted to 10/14hrs, 12/12hrs, 14/10hrs, 16/8hrs. After 19 days of planting, the first flowering occurred in 10/14hrs, which had a short photoperiod, and the 12/12hrs had 20 days for flowering, and other treatments had 21 days. In addition, it was confirmed that the Korean mint has the characteristics of facultative quantitative short-day plant, through the increase in the development of inflorescences as the light period is shorter than the dark period. As for the growth of Korean mint, the longer the photoperiod, the higher values were shown with leaf length, number of leaves, fresh weight, dry weight, and leaf area of the shoot. Therefore, it is considered that 14 h or more light period is suitable for increasing the productivity of Korean mint as a leafy vegetable. 배초향은 잎을 식용으로 이용하는 작물로 영양생장을 유지 하여 잎의 품질과 수량을 높이는 것이 중요하다. 작물의 생장이 영양생장에서 생식생장으로 전환될 경우 잎의 발달이 저하되어 상품성이 하락할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 광주기에 따른 배초향 식물의 개화 특성 및 화서 발달을 조사하여 잎 생산을 위한 적정 광주기를 선발하기 위해 수행되었다. 배초향 종자를 2021년 11월 29일에 105구 트레이에 파종하여 본엽이 4 매 발생한 배초향 식물체를 2021년 12월 27일에 각각 포트에 정식하였다. 정식 후 명기/암기 시간을 10/14hrs, 12/12hrs, 14/10hrs, 16/8hrs로 조절하여 처리하였다. 정식 19일 후 광주기가 짧았던 10/14hrs에서 첫 개화를 확인하였으며, 12/12hrs 에서 20일, 그 외 처리에서는 21일 이후 개화하는 것을 확인하였다. 또한, 명주기가 암주기에 비해 짧을수록 화서의 발달이 증가하는 것을 통해 본 식물이 양적 단일식물의 특성을 가짐을 확인하였다. 배초향의 생육은 광주기가 길수록 엽장, 엽수, 지상부의 생체중 및 건물중, 엽면적이 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서, 명주기를 14시간 이상으로 처리하는 것이 배초향의 엽채류로서의 생산성을 높이는 데 적합할 것으로 판단 된다.

        Relationship between Preoperative 18F-Fluorodeoxyglucose Uptake and Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor Status in Primary Colorectal Cancer

        Purpose: Both 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (18F-FDG) uptake and epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) status are prognostic variablesof colorectal cancer (CRC). The aim of this study was to investigate a possible association between 18F-FDG uptake on preoperativepositron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) and EGFR status in primary CRC. Materials and Methods: Records of 132 patients (66 men and 66 women; mean age=67.1±11.1 years) who underwent 18F-FDG PET/CT for CRC staging and subsequent bowel resection were reviewed. In primary lesions, 18F-FDG uptake was semiquantitativelyevaluated in terms of maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax), and EGFR status was determined by immunohistochemistry. Associations of clinicopathological parameters and EGFR status were analyzed by Pearson’s chi-square test, multiple logistic regression, and receiver operating characteristic curves. Results: Eighty-six patients (65.2%) showed EGFR expression. SUVmax was significantly lower in EGFR-negative tumors than in EGFR-expressing tumors (10.0±4.2 vs. 12.1±2.1; p=0.012). It was the only significant parameter correlated with EGFR expression (odds ratio=2.457; relative risk=2.013; p=0.038). At the SUVmax threshold of 7.5, the sensitivity and specificity for predicting EGFR expression were 84.9% and 40.4%, respectively (area under the curve=0.624; p=0.019). Conclusion: Preoperative 18F-FDG uptake is slightly correlated with EGFR status in primary CRC. Preoperative SUVmax of 18F-FDG may have a limited role in predicting EGFR expression in such tumors because of its poor specificity.

        Seed and Germination Characteristics of Allium koreanum H.J. Choi & B.U. Oh for Effective Propagation

        Native plants are unique genetic resources that have the potential to be used as ornamental, medical, and food resources. Allium koreanum H.J. Choi & B.U. Oh is one of the native plants distributed in the coastal rocky land of Korea, which has high conservation value due to climate change and reduction of its habitat. This study was conducted to investigate the effects of temperature and hydrogen peroxide on the germination of A. koreanum. The seeds were prepared as untreated (control) or those treated with 1% hydrogen peroxide for 90 minutes (H2O2), and the treatments were placed in plant growth chambers set at 15, 20, and 25°C. Regardless of the H2O2 treatment, the germination percentage at 15°C, which was 42%, was more than two times higher than that at 20°C and 25°C, which were 18% and 0%, respectively, 23 days after sowing. The number of days to attain 50% of the final germination percentage (T50) was the shortest at 20°C, but the mean daily germination (MDG) was the highest at 15°C. Therefore, 1% of H2O2 treatment did not have a significant effect on the germination percentage of A. koreanum, and a temperature of 15°C was considered to be optimum to increase the germination percentage of A. koreanum. The results of this study can be used as basic research data for the germination of A. koreanum.

        Changes in Growth and Anthocyanin Content of Brassica juncea L. affected by Light Intensity and Photoperiod in Plant Factory with Artificial Lighting

        Recently, several studies have been conducted on crop production in plant factory with artificial lighting (PFAL) to prepare for climate change. Light is an important factor in improving crop productivity in PFAL. This study investigated changes in the growth and anthocyanin content of Brassica juncea L. (red mustard) under various light conditions. The seeds were sown on a urethane sponge and germinated at 9 days in a PFAL. After that, red mustard was cultivated at light intensities (150 or 300 µmol·m-2·s-1), and photoperiods (8/16, 12/12, and 16/8 h, light/dark). The length, width, and area of leaves were significantly greatest at 300 µmol·m-2·s-1 with a photoperiod of 16/8. At the higher light intensity and photoperiod, shoots of red mustard showed a darker red color. The total anthocyanin content showed the highest value at the light intensity of 300 µmol·m-2·s-1 and a photoperiod of 16/8. It was possible to produce red mustard with excellent growth and high anthocyanin content in a PFAL at a light intensity of 300 µmol·m-2·s-1 with a photoperiod of 16/8.
