In the realm of dental prosthesis fabrication, obtaining accurate impressions has historically been a challenging and inefficient process, often hindered by hygiene concerns and patient discomfort. Addressing these limitations, Company D recently introduced a cutting-edge solution by harnessing the potential of intraoral scan images to create 3D dental models. However, the complexity of these scan images, encompassing not only teeth and gums but also the palate, tongue, and other structures, posed a new set of challenges. In response, we propose a sophisticated real-time image segmentation algorithm that selectively extracts pertinent data, specifically focusing on teeth and gums, from oral scan images obtained through Company D's oral scanner for 3D model generation. A key challenge we tackled was the detection of the intricate molar regions, common in dental imaging, which we effectively addressed through intelligent data augmentation for enhanced training. By placing significant emphasis on both accuracy and speed, critical factors for real-time intraoral scanning, our proposed algorithm demonstrated exceptional performance, boasting an impressive accuracy rate of 0.91 and an unrivaled FPS of 92.4. Compared to existing algorithms, our solution exhibited superior outcomes when integrated into Company D's oral scanner. This algorithm is scheduled for deployment and commercialization within Company D's intraoral scanner.

This study was conducted to investigate employee food-hygiene and nutrition awareness and performance and to study the current education programs for children at child care centers and kindergartens located in Seoul, Republic of Korea. A self-evaluated type of questionnaire was developed for foodservice employees and teachers using a five-point Likert scale. Employees with an employment history of <1 year and who were <30 years old had tile lowest scores for food-hygiene and nutrition awareness and performance. Employees with a cooking license had a higher awareness score regarding cross-contamination than those without a license. Higher nutritional awareness and performance scores were also observed for employees who had more experience as cooks and who had received a nutrition education than those who did not. Approximately 94% and 76.4% of the employees had experience in sanitation and nutrition education, respectively. Most teachers responded mal food sanitation-nutrition education for children seemed necessary in a child-care center; however, only 63.9% of the teachers actually taught sanitation-nutrition education to children. The biggest limitation to conduct food sanitation-nutrition education was the "lack of professionalism" of teachers, because only 48.1% of teachers had received a sanitation-nutrition education. Thus, a food sanitation-nutrition education program for foodservice employees and teachers must be developed and implemented actively to improve the quality of food service and nutrition education in child care centers and kindergartens.
단태임신에서 융합된 단일 탯줄을 가진 두 개의 태반 1예

단태임신에서 두 개의 독립된 태반과 각각의 태반으로부터 형성된 탯줄이 하나의 탯줄로 융합되어 태아에게 연결되는 것은 매우 드문 현상이다. 37세 초산인 여성이 임신 8주 5일에 vanishing twin syndrome이 의심되는 절박유산으로 입원했으며, 이후 산전 초음파 진찰 결과 자궁벽 전면과 후면에 위치한 두 개의 독립된 태반이 진단되었다. 분만 후 시행한 검사결과 각각의 독립된 태반의 가장자리에서 형성된 탯줄 중주태반의 탯줄은 2개의 동맥과 1개의 정맥, 부태반의 탯줄은 1개의 동맥과 1개의 정맥으로 이루어져 있었으며 주태반의 탯줄 시작부위에서 하나로 융합되는 형태를 보였다. 단태임신에서 관찰된 두 개의 태반과 탯줄 융합은 여러 가지 기전-체외수정시술, 부태반의 형성, fetus in fetus 등-에 대해 고려할 수 있으나, 향후 좀 더 체계화된 연구가 필요한 실정이다. Two placentas in singleton pregnancy with fused umbilical cord which has its own placental insertion site forming 3-vessel cord at fetal end is an extremely rare case. This present case describes two placentas with fused umbilical cord with an episode of vanishing twin syndrome and there seems to be a strong relationship between these two events. A 37-year-old woman, gravid 0, para 0, visited emergency room with an episode of vaginal bleeding without pelvic cramps at 8 weeks and 5 days of gestation and repeated ultrasonic exams revealed reabsorption of vanishing twin and two separate placentas on anterior and posterior body of uterus. At 40 weeks and 4 days, the patient delivered a viable female infant weighing 3,900 g via Cesarean section and postpartum examination of the placentas and membranes confirmed two placentas with fused umbilical cord. Two placentas were almost equal in size and there were 2 cord insertions, 1 into each placenta. The cord at each of the placental disc had marginal insertion site and main placental disc cord had 2 arteries with one vein (3 vessel-cord) whereas side placental disc cord had one artery with one vein (2 vessel-cord), Several hypothesis for this two placentas with fused umbilical cord in singleton pregnancy, were proposed including placenta abnormalities after in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer procedure, succenturiate lobes and fetus in fetus, however, further evaluation is need.

This study was performed to determine risk ranking of the combination of pathogen-livestock or livestock products to identify the most significant public health risks and to prioritize risk management strategies. First, we reviewed foodborne outbreak data related to livestock products and determined main vehicles and pathogens according to the number of outbreak and case. Second, expert’s opinion about management priority of pathogen-livestock product pairing was surveyed with 19 livestock experts in the university, research center, and government agency. Lastly, we used the outcome of Risk Ranger (semi-quantitative risk ranking tool) of 14 combinations of pathogen and livestock or livestock products. We have classified the combination of pathogen-livestock products into group I (high risk), II (medium risk), and III (low risk) according to their risk levels and management priority. Group I, which is the highest risk for foodborne outbreak, includes Salmonella spp./egg and egg products, Campylobacter spp./poultry, pathogenic E. coli/meat and processed ground meat. In conclusion, the results of this study will provide the specific guideline of mid- and long-term planning for risk assessment and risk management prioritization of the combination of pathogen and livestock, or livestock product.
