        국내산과 미국산 블루베리의 이화학적 품질특성

        국내산 블루베리와 미국산 블루베리의이화학적 품질특성을 조사하였다. 일반성분과 당도를 분석한 결과 미국산과 국내산 값이 비슷하게 나타났다. pH는 국내산 4.49, 미국산 3.46으로 낮게 나타내었으며 색도는 L, a, b 값 모두 미국산이 국내산 보다 높게 나타났다. 총페놀성 화합물 함량은 국내산이 205.29 mg%, 미국산이 182.87 mg%로 나타났고, DPPH radical 소거 활성능은 국내산이 93.48%, 미국산이 84.32%fmf 나타내었다. 유리당 함량은 국내산은 fruclose 2,514.10mg%, glucose 2,314.81 mg%, sucrose 69.01mg%가 함유되어 있었고, 미국산은 fructose 2,106.06 mg%와 glucose 1,825.20 mg%만이 함유되어 있었다. 유기산 함량에서 국내산은 lactic acid 3.65 mg%와 tartlaric acid 0.30mg%가 함유되어 있었고, 미국산은 tartaric acid 2.51 mg%, succinic acid 2.47 mg%, malic acid 1.34 mg%, oxalic acid 0.24 mg%, lactic acid 0.16 mg%가 함유되어 있었다. 유리아미노산 40종 중 국내산 12종, 미국산 9종의 유리아미노산을 함유하고 있었고, 총함량은 국내산 3.90.74 mg/100g, 미국산 295.61 mg/100g으로 미국산에 비해 국내산이 32% 더 많이 함유한 것으로 나타났다. 지방산 함량은 미국산은 2,897.08 mg%로 국내산 2,783.51 mg%보다 조금 높았으며 oleic acid>linoleic aicd>palmitic acid 순을 나타났다. 무기질 P, K, Ca 함량에서 국내산은 각각 728.903 mg%, 460.281mg%, 157.527 mg%, 미국산은 6,948.421 mg%, 491.750mg%, 189.152 mg%로 나타났으며, Pa> K> Ca> Mg순으로 함유되어 있었다. 이상의 결과로 볼 때 국내산 블루베리가 유효 화학성분이나 생리활성적 특성이 미국산보다 다소 높은 것으로 생각된다. We investigated the quality characteristics or the Korean and American blueberry. There was a similarity between the general composition and sugar content of die Korean and American values. The pH values showed a low of 3.46 in American blueberries to a high of 4.49 in ``Korean blueberries. The L (lightness), a (redress), and b (yellowness) value scores of the American blueberry were higher than tile Korean blueberry. The levels of total phenol content and DPPH radical scavenging abilities were 205 mg% 93.48% in the Korean blueberry and 182 mg%~ 84.32% ill the American blueberry, respectively. The free sugar levels showed fructose 2,514 mg%, glucose 2,315 mg% and sucrose 69 mg% in the Korean blueberry, while the free sugar levels of the American blueberry showed fructose 2,106 mg% glucose 1,825 mg% 111C contents of organic add were lactic acid and tartaric acid in the Korean blueberry, while the organic acid in the American blueberry contained tartaric acid, succinic acid, oxalic acid, and lactic acid The Korean blueberry has 12 kinds of free amino acids, while the American blueberry has 9 kinds of free amino acids. Furthermore, the Korean blueberry contains 390 mg% of total amino acids, which was higher than 32% in the American blueberry with 295 mg% of total amino acids. The fatty acid contents of die American blueberry (2,897 mg%) was higher than that of the Korean blueberry (2,783 mg%) as well as in the oleic acid, linoleic acid, and palmitic acid. The mineral contents of all the samples were P>K>Ca>Mg, respectively, Given the above results, the Korean blueberry bioactive chemicals or properties were thought to be somewhat higher than the American blueberry.

        블루베리즙 첨가량을 달리한 블루베리편의 품질 및 항산화특성

        In this study, we investigated the quality and antioxidant activity of blueberry-pyun (traditional Korean jelly using blueberry) according to different ratios of blueberry juice (100%, 80%, 60%, 40%, and 20%). Moisture and pH significantly decreased as the content of blueberry juice increased (p<0.05). As the amount of blueberry juice decreased, the lightness (L) decreased. At the same time, the redness (a) and yellowness (b) were significantly higher (p<0.05). DPPH radical scavenging activity and anthocyanin contents increased significantly when the amount of blueberry juice increased (p<0.05). In the texture profile analysis, hardness decreased as the content of blueberry juice increased. There were no significant differences in springiness. 20% blueberry juice showed the highest gumminess and chewiness. During sensory evaluation, 60% blueberry juice showed the highest in the appearance, color, sweetness and overall-acceptability. From these results, we conclude that blueberry-pyun made of 60% blueberry juice is the most desirable.

        국내 도입 블루베리의 생육기 및 형태적 특성에 의한 유연관계 분석

        For analysis of the relationship among blueberry cultivars, the growth period and morphological characteristics were investigated in 28 blueberry cultivars, and cluster analysis using the SAS program was conducted based on the morphological data. The harvest period was later and longer in rabbiteye blueberry cultivars (Austin, Brightwell, Powderblue, Southland, Tifblue) than in highbush blueberry cultivars. The L/D ratio of flower was more than 2.0 in the Austin, Brightwell, Powderblue, Southland, Tifblue, and Brigitta cultivars, and this could be disadvantageous for pollination. The 28 blueberry cultivars were classified into two groups by the cluster analysis based on growth period and morphological characteristics. Group I included rabbiteye blueberries and Group II included highbush blueberries. However, the northern, southern, and half-highbush blueberry cultivars were not differentiated. 국내에서 주로 재배중인 28개 품종의 품종 식별을 위해 생육기 및 형태적 특성을 조사하여 유연관계를 분석하였다. 래빗아이 블루베리 품종인 ‘Austin’, ‘Brightwell’, ‘Powderblue’, ‘Southland’, ‘Tifblue’가 하이부쉬블루베리에 비해 수확 기간이 길고 늦은 것으로 나타났다. 꽃의 L/D율은 래빗아이 블루베리 품종인 ‘Austin’, ‘Brightwell’, ‘Powderblue’, ‘Tifblue’과 남부하이부쉬 블루베리인 ‘Brigitta’ 품종의 경우 2.0 이상으로 나타나 수분에 불리할 것으로 판단되었다. 블루베리 품종별 형태적 특성 결과를 군집 분석한 결과 블루베리의 생육 및 과실 의형태적 특성에 의해 크게 2개의 그룹으로 구분할 수 있었다. 그룹 I은 래빗아이 블루베리 품종들이었으며 그룹 II는 하이부쉬블루베리 품종들이었다. 따라서 생육기 및 형태적 특성만으로도 래빗아이 블루베리 품종을 식별할 수 있을 것으로 판단되었으며 하이부쉬블루베리 내 반수고, 북부, 남부 하이부쉬 블루베리의 구분은 되지 않았다.

      • 블루베리 품종에 따른 토양 깊이별 토양수분변화

        Highbush blueberry is a shallow-rooted crop that is highly sensitive to soil water deficits. The amount of water supplied to blueberry plants influences vegetative growth, fruit size and quality. Supplemental irrigation is almost always needed for maximal yields even in years of plentiful rainfall because rain events occur irregularly resulting in periods of drought during the growing season. Despite this vulnerability to water, little is known about the water relations of this crop, particularly with regard to any variation that may occur among cultivars or with soil depth. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine the effects of soil depth and blueberry cultivars on the changes of soil water content. Blueberry plants have shallow root systems with the majority of the roots 20 to 30cm deep in the soil and its distribution is dependent on the age of the plant and climatic and soil conditions. A total of 17 blueberry cultivars (Duke, Elizabeth, Brigitta, Camellia, Rebel, Huron, etc.), 10 cultivars from “A” farm (3,516m<sup>2</sup>) and 7 cultivars from “B” farm (1,893m<sup>2</sup>), were investigated. Time-dependent soil moisture data from 100 blueberry cultivation pots were continuously monitored using s portable soil water sensor (WT2000) throughout the cultivation period at two depths, 10cm and 20cm, respectively. The analysis of variance (ANOVA) showed that the soil water content for each blueberry cultivar at 10cm were significantly different while no variation of blueberry cultivar was existed at a depth of 25cm. The comparison of blueberry cultivars showed that there was no critical difference existed among them. Continuous study will be conducted to utilize this result to establish the optimal growth condition for blueberry.

        블루베리에서 블루베리혹파리(Dasineura oxycoccana) 발생 예찰 및 친환경 방제

        Dasineura oxycoccana는 미국, 캐나다, 유럽 등에 분포하는 해충으로, 블루베리에 발생할 경우 신초와 꽃눈을 가해하여 막대한 피해를 유발하는 주요 문제 해충이다. 국내에서는 2010년 경기도 화성시 블루베리 재배지에서 유사증상이 발견되어 피해조사 및 정밀동정을 실시한 결과 D. oxycoccana에 의한 피해로 확인되어 블루베리혹파리로 명명하였고 검역관리해충으로 지정되었다. 2011년 전국적인 조사 결과 대부분 블루베리 재배지역에서 블루베리혹파리 발생 및 피해가 확인되었다. 시설 비가림 재배 농가에서 건조한 펄라이트나 친환경 부산물인 왕겨 등을 이용하여 블루베리혹파리 유충 및 번데기 증식에 불리한 물리적 환경조건을 조성함으로써 블루베리혹파리 발생 및 그에 의한 신초 피해를 감소시킬 수 있어서 블루베리혹파리의 친환경 방제 수단으로 활용 가치가 높았다. The blueberry gall midge, Dasineura oxycoccana (Diptera: Cecidomyiidae), has known as a key pest of blueberries in the southeastern United States, Europe and Canada. It can cause considerable damage to developing flower buds and also injure vegetative growth by distorting and blackening shoot tips on blueberries. In 2010, same damage symptoms were observed on blueberries, Vaccinium spp., in Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do. And, D. oxycoccana was identified from the farms and it was designated as a quarantine pest in Korea. The occurrences of D. oxycoccana and its damages were investigated in the blueberry greenhouse in 2011. Nationwide survey revealed that most of the blueberry greenhouses were infected by D. oxycoccana. An environment-friendly management method for D. oxycoccana was developed by changing soil environment in the blueberry greenhouse.

        블루베리발효액이 식이유도 비만 Mice의 비만에 미치는 효과

        Purpose: The objective of the present study was to determine whether fermentation can increase the protective effects of blueberry liquid in a high-fat diet-induced obese mice model. Methods: Male C57BL/6J mice were fed a high-fat diet (HD, 60% fat, w/w,), HD supplemented with 10 ml/kg BW/day of blueberry liquid (BHD, blueberry high-fat diet), or HD supplemented with 10 ml/kg BW/day of fermented blueberry liquid (FBHD, fermented blueberry high-fat diet) for 10 weeks. Results: There were significant decreases in the body, epididymal adipose tissue, and liver weights of blueberry-fed groups compared to HD, whereas there were no significant differences in food intake among the groups. Furthermore, blueberry liquid groups, especially fermented blueberry liquid, significantly attenuated the contents of hepatic triglycerides and total cholesterol induced by HD. Serum LDL-cholesterol was significantly lower in the BHD and FBHD-fed groups, whereas FBHD significantly increased the serum HDL-cholesterol level compared to the control. Concentrations of aspartate transaminase, alanine transaminase, and leptins in serum were also reduced by blueberry liquid supplementation. The mRNA expression of hepatic acetyl CoA carboxylase was significantly reduced in both the BHD and FBHD groups compared to HD. Furthermore, FBHD altered the mRNA expression level of hepatic lipolysis genes. Conclusion: In conclusion, these results suggest that blueberry, especially fermented blueberry liquid, may improve obesity-related abnormalities.

        블루베리 열수 추출물의 근아세포의 근분화에 미치는 영향

        Objectives : At present, aging-related degenerative muscle diseases are considered a serious problem. However, the effects on muscles regarding the efficacy of blueberry have not been studied. In this study, we tried to find out the correlation between blueberry and muscle. Methods : 2,2'-azino-bis-3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulphonic acid (ABTS) assay was performed to confirm the antioxidant efficacy of blueberry hydrothermal extract. To determine the effect of blueberry hydrothermal extracts (BHE) on myoblast activity, 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-5-(3-carboxymethoxyphenyl)-2-(4-sulfophenyl)-2Htetrazolium (MTS) assay was performed. To confirm the effect of blueberry hydrothermal extracts on the differentiation of myoblast into myotubes, protein expression levels of myosin heavy chain 3 (Myh3) and paired box 3/7 (pax3/7) were confirmed by immunoblot analysis. In addition, immunofluorescence microscopy was performed to confirm the effect on myotube formation of blueberry hydrothermal extracts. Results : Antioxidative efficacy and low toxicity were confirmed through ABTS assay and MTS assay of blueberry extract for myoblasts. As a result of immunoblot analysis and immunofluorescence analysis, the decrease in myogenic marker Pax3/7 was not confirmed, but myotubes The specific expression inhibitory activity of the forming protein Myh3 was confirmed. Through this, it was confirmed that the blueberry extract has a negative activity against myoblast differentiation. Conclusion : This experiment confirmed that blueberry hydrothermal extract has excellent antioxidant efficacy and negative results in inhibiting the differentiation and proliferation of myoblast. This requires deep study of certain ingredients and requires reassessment of the dietary intake of blueberries.

        제주산 블루베리와 상동열매의 일반성분, 항산화 및 항증식 활성 비교

        본 연구에서는 블루베리의 형태 및 풍미와 유사한 상동열매의 일반성분과 항산화 활성을 비교하였다. 열량, 조단백, 조회분, 탄수화물 및 유리당은 상동열매가 블루베리에 비해 더 높았으며 수분은 블루베리가 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 상동열매의 주요 유리당은 fructose, glucose 및 maltose로 나타난 반면, 블루베리에서는 maltose가 검출되지 않았다. 상동열매와 블루베리를 각각 80% 메탄올로 추출한 후, 헥산, 클로로포름, 에틸아세테이트, 부탄올 및 물층으로 용매 분획하여 이들의 폴리페놀 및 안토시아닌 함량과 항산화 활성을 비교하였다. 상동열매 메탄올추출물이 블루베리 메탄올 추출보다 폴리페놀 함량과 안토시아닌 함량 모두 높게 나타났으며, 아울러 DPPH, alkyl, 및 ABTS라디칼 소거 활성 또한 더 우수하였다. 용매 분획물들을 대상으로 항산화 효능을 비교했을 때, 상동열매와 블루베리 모두 폴리페놀 함량이 상대적으로 높았던 에틸아세테이트 분획물의 DPPH와 alkyl radical 소거 활성이 가장 우수했으며, 안토시아닌 함량이 높은 부탄올 분획물의 ABTS radical 소거 활성이 상대적으로 우수하였다. 특히, 안토시아닌 함량이 상대적으로 높았던 상동열매 부탄올 분획물의 ABTS 라디칼 소거 활성은 블루베리 부탄올 분획물에 비해 상대적으로 우수하였다. 상동열매와 블루베리 메탄올 추출물은 피부세포에서의 H2O2로 유도된 산화적 스트레스로부터 세포 보호 효과를 나타냈으며, 블루베리와 비교하여 상동열매에서 그 효능이 더 우수한 것으로 나타났다. 또한 상동열매와 블루베리의 헥산 분획물과 클로로포름 분획물이 위암(AGS)와 유방암(MDA-MB-231)세포에 대한 증식억제 활성이 확인되었다. 본 연구에서는 최초로 상동열매와 블루베리의 일반성분, 항산화 및 항암 활성을 비교하였으며, 상동열매가 블루베리보다 상대적으로 높은 함량의 폴리페놀과 안토시아닌을 함유할 뿐만 아니라 블루베리보다 우수하거나 그에 필적한 항산화 및 항암 활성을 나타내고 있어, 항산화 식품 및 천연 항산화 소재 로서의 활용가치가 클 것으로 사료된다. This study was aimed to evaluate and compare the proximate composition, antioxidant and antiproliferative activities of Sageretia thea (Osbeck) M.C.Johnst (S. thea) fruit and blueberry. The calorific value, crude protein, crude fat, crude ash, and carbohydrate were higher in S. thea fruit than in blueberry. S. thea fruit and blueberry have different profile of free sugars, in which amounts of fructose, glucose, and maltose were much higher in S. thea fruit than in blueberry. The methanol extracts of S. thea fruit contain higher amounts of total polyphenol and anthocyanin compared to those of blueberry extracts. In additions, 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), alkyl, and 2,2`-azinobis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulphonic acid) (ABTS) radical scavenging activities are greater in S. thea fruit extracts. Ethyl acetate fractions and n-butanol fractions of S. thea fruit and blueberry show the most potent scavenging activity in DPPH-, alkyl-, and ABTS-radical scavenging assay. The ethyl acetate fractions of S. thea fruit and blueberry are the richest fraction in polyphenol contents while the n-butanol fractions of those are the highest fraction in anthocyanin contents. Furthermore, both S. thea fruit and blueberry extracts protect human dermal fibroblast cells against a H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub>-induced oxidative stress. The antiproliferative activities of n-hexane and chloroform fraction from S. thea fruit and blueberry were observed in AGS human gastric cancer and MDA-MB-231 human breast cancer cells. Therefore, our results suggest for the first time that the antioxidant and antiproliferative activities of S. thea fruit is comparable to that of blueberry and the nutritional value of the former is even superior to that of the latter.

        한국산 및 Canada산 High Bush Blueberry 열매의 항산화 활성 비교

        . Blueberries (Ericaceae) are cultivated worldwide, and are used not only as foodstuff but also for relievement of eyestrain. Bluberry species representatively includes highbush blueberry (V. corymbosum L.), lowbush blueberry (V. angustifolium AIT.), rabbiteye blueberry (V. ashei READE), and bilberry blueberry (V. myrtillus L.). All of these species contain large amounts of phenolics and anthocyanins. In this regard, we isolated six compounds from Korea cultivated blueberry and identified as 3-O-caffeoylquinic acid (1), 5-O-caffeoylquinic acid (2), myricetin-3-O-β-D-galactoside (3), quercetin-3-O-rutinoside (4), ethyl-3-O-caffeoylquinic acid ester (5), ethyl-5-O-caffeoyl quinic acid ester (6) by 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and MS. Anti-oxidative activities of six compounds were verified by anti-oxidant assay such as DPPH, ABTS and Hypoxanthine/xanthine oxidase system. And then, anti-oxidant activities of Korea blueberry and Canadian were compared with each other. These results support that Korean blueberry has also the possibility to be potential supplementary material as healthy food like Canadian blueberry. Therefore, Korean blueberry can be used as a substitute of Canadian blueberry.

        래빗아이 블루베리 품종별 꽃눈의 내동성과 재배안전지역

        BACKGROUND: Rabbiteye blueberry(Vaccinium ashei) is one of the most widely grown blueberry types in the world, together with Northern and Southern highbush blueberry(Vaccinium corymbosum). Rabbiteye blueberry have higher soil adaptability and fruit productivity but less cold tolerance to low temperature than highbush blueberry. The objective of this study is to investigate freezing tolerance of floral buds and establish a cultivation zone for rabbiteye blueberry cultivars. METHODS AND RESULTS: Bearing branches which have similar thickness and same number of floral buds were collected in the early January at the blueberry germplasm preservation plot located in Namhae Sub-station, National Institute of Horticultural and Herbal Science in Gyeongsangnamdo. Cold response of bearing branches were investigated by electrolyte leakage and freezing tolerance of floral buds were determined by ovary browning ratio of 50%(LT50). Cultivation zone was established based on mean annualextreme minimum temperature for 30 years, from1981 to2010. The electrolyte leakage of bearing branches in rabbiteye blueberry increased as temperature decreased and was lowest in ‘Brightwell’ but highest in ‘Bluegem’ when they were kept in -5°C. Besides, the electrolyte leakage increased in ‘Brightblue’, ‘Brightwell’, ‘Climax’, ‘Delite’, ‘Gardenblue’, ‘Southland’ and ‘Woodard’ in -20°C. Freezing tolerance(LT50) was lowest in ‘Bluegem’ and ‘Homebell’(-13.3°C), and highest in ‘Tifblue’(-25°C) among different rabbiteye blueberry cultivars. LT50 of ‘Southland’ was from-15.0 to-16.7°C, that of ‘Delite’, ‘Brightwell’,’ Austin’ and ‘Climax’ was -18.3°C, and that of ‘Bluebelle’, ‘Woodard’ and ‘Powderblue’ was -20°C. CONCLUSION: This study indicate that The hardiness zones of rabbiteye blueberry were classified into Six cultivation zones and cultivation zones of most cultivars were the south of Jeollanam-do and Gyeongdangnam-do, except for ‘Tifblue.’
