<P>Solution‐processable reduced graphene oxide as a hole‐transporting layer for highly efficient and stable organic solar cells is reported on page 4923 by Dong‐Yu Kim, Seok‐In Na, and co‐workers. Introduction of a newly reduced graphene oxide by simple solution processing into solar cells dramatically raises the cell efficiency and cell life‐time. The results will allow full use of chemically reduced graphene and will advance the realization of carbon‐based printable optoelectronic devices. </P>

Recently the car and elevator accidents as well as the fire, explosion and collapse increased. The passenger elevator accident from 1993 year to 2001 has about 56.7% of total accidents and the human victims of 180according to the Korea Elevator Safety Institute. Accident cause and prevention were investigated for the elevator having the fall, impact and narrowness accident types. The prevention and protection methods of the elevator accident from analysis results were suggested by comparing and analogizing the accident statistics about the accident investigation of the passenger elevator according to the elevator accidents.
유산소성 운동이 여성 노인들의 체력과 반응시간에 미치는 영향

This study was performed to investigate the effect of aerobic exercise program on physical fitness and whole body reaction time, and to see the relationship between the level of physical fitness and level of whole body reaction time in the elderly women. The study subjects were consisted of 44 old women with mean age of 67.3 years. They were tested on their physical fitness and whole body reaction time level at the begin and end of the 12-week program(pre-post tests). Assessment included measures of strength, power, balance, agility, flexibility, %body fat, endurance, and body simple and choice reaction times in the elerly women. For data analysis, mean and standard deviation scores were calculated, and paired t-test and person's correlation coefficient were used. The results were follow: 1. After the aerobic exercise program, power, balance, agility, flexibility, %body fat, and endurance were significantly imroved in the elerly women. 2. After the aerobic exercise program, body simpel and choice reaction times were also significantly improved in the elderly women. 3. After the aerobic exercie program, old womens' simple and choice reaction time of whole body were significantly related to strength, power, balance, agility, and flexibility. In conclusion, even though the elderly women had participated in the aerobic exercise program for the short period time(3 months), they showed the improved physical fitness and whole body reactin time, which are related to physical health.
(+)-Chromen 유도체의 합성 및 이들의 Wnt/β-catenin pathway 억제 활성 평가

(+)-Decursin and GCK062, which is decursin derivative, showed strong inhibitory activity for Wnt/β-catenin signaling and suppressed concentration-dependently PC3 cell growth. These compounds have pyranocoumarin ring as backbone and acryloyl group as side chain. In this study, we introduced (+)-chromen ring as backbond, that is more simplified than pyranocoumarin, and synthesized (+)-chromen derivatives. As a results, in most cases, (+)-chromen derivatives disappeared or lowered the inhibitory activities for Wnt/β -catenin signaling. However (+)-chromen derivative (SLC-G005, 92.0%), introduced 3,4-dihydroxycinnamoyl group, showed potent inhibitory activity, not as much as GCK062 (99.5%).

<P><B>The preparation of a reduced graphene oxide (pr‐Go) is with a novel p‐TosNHNH2 reductant</B> is demonstrated for use as an efficient anode interfacial layer for high‐performance and highstability organic solar cells (OSCs). The efficiency of the cells with pr‐GO is highly comparable to those of the PEDOT:PSSbased devices. Furthermore, the pr‐GO based OSCs show a much longer cell life time in air stability tests in comparison with PEDOT:PSS‐based cells.</P>

발육 속도 모델을 이용한 포도 ‘캠벨얼리’의 발아기 예측

To predict the bud bursting date of ‘Campbell Early’ grapevines, the bud developmental rate (DVR) models were constructed. The DVRs for bud bursting were calculated from the demanded times at controlled air temperatures. The DVRs were examined on the ‘Campbell Early’ grapevines incubated in three different temperatures at 4.6, 11.8, and 16.6℃. The DVR increased exponentially or linearly on the air temperature with a slope of about 0.0019. The DVR equations were computed as DVR = 0.0249 + 0.0020e<SUP>0.1654x</SUP> or DVR = 0.0019x + 0.0187. These DVR equations offered developmental indices and predicted dates for bud bursting with air temperature data. The DVR equations were validated to the bud bursting data observed in the field. When bud bursting dates were calculated with daily temperature data, the root mean squared error (RMSE) between the observed and the predicted dates was less than 4 days. When those were calculated with hourly temperature data, on the other hand, the RMSE was less than 3 days. These results suggest that the DVR models are useful to predict bud bursting date of ‘Campbell Early’ grapevines.
ERK Activation by Fucoidan Leads to Inhibition of Melanogenesis in Mel-Ab Cells

Fucoidan, a fucose-rich sulfated polysaccharide derived from brown seaweed in the class Phaeophyceae, has been widely studied for its possible health benefits. However, the potential of fucoidan as a possible treatment for hyperpigmentation is not fully understood. This study investigated the effects of fucoidan on melanogenesis and related signaling pathways using Mel-Ab cells. Fucoidan significantly decreased melanin content. While fucoidan treatment decreased tyrosinase activity, it did not do so directly. Western blot analysis indicated that fucoidan downregulated microphthalmia-associated transcription factor and reduced tyrosinase protein expression. Further investigation showed that fucoidan activated the extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) pathway, suggesting a possible mechanism for the inhibition of melanin synthesis. Treatment with PD98059, a specific ERK inhibitor, resulted in the recovery of melanin production. Taken together, these findings suggest that fucoidan inhibits melanogenesis via ERK phosphorylation.
