        This paper is to evaluate the performance for the Partitioning Data Flow Graph. For the simulation, the input is a Partitioned Data Flow Graph and the target machine is a modified MIT Data Flow System. The goal of the performance evaluation is to compare between clustering data flow graph and no clustering data flow graph and to see the throughput between one PE and n PE in clustered data flow graph.

      • 관상동맥 질환자를 위한 cycle ergometer exercise와 treadmill exercise의 적정 운동강도

        The purpose of this study was to determine heart rate (HR), ratings of perceived exertion (RPE) and oxygen uptake (Vo2) at the anaerobic threshold (AT) in two different exercise modalities, cycle ergometer and treadmil exercise (running). Subjects were 13 women patients with coronary heart disease. All sub-maximal and maximal Vo2 values but Vo2 at the AT for women were significantly higher in treadmill exercise than cycle ergometer. Submaximal and maximal HR values were not significantly different between the two exercise modalities. However, mean RPE values at the AT were significantly higher in cycle ergometer than treadmill exercise. We suggest that appropriate HR values in exercise training should be the same in cycling and treadmill exercise. while RPE values should be 1 or 2 higher in cycling than running.

        A concept of data flow computer is a radical departure from that of Von Neumann type computers since the central concept of sequential execution is discarded. Data flow model offers an entirely new way of view the execution of program. This paper describes the data flow graph partitioning algorithm for enhancing the efficiency of the data flow architecture which consists of Processing Elements, Distributor, Arbitrator and Global Memory, and evaluate the performance of the proposed data flow system.

      • Plasmid DNA pBR 322의 증폭과 Hydroxyapatite Chromatography에 의한 분리

        The amplification and the isolation conditions of pBR322 plasmid DNA were investigated. For the amplification of pBR322 plasmid DNA, cells from logarithmic growth phase were most effective. The optimal conditions for the amplification of pBR322 plasmid DNA in Escherichia coli GM4 were obtained as follows; 50-150 ㎍/ml of chloramphenicol concentration, 6-8 hours of incubation time in the presence of chloramphenicol. Ampicillin and tetracycline had no effect on the amplification of pBR322 plasmid DNA. Approximately 1 mg of pBR322 plasmid DNA was purified from 3.5 ℓof Escherichia coli GM4 culture broth by hydroxyapatite chromatography. The purified pBR322 plasmid DNA was expressed in Escherichia coli C600.

        PC12를 이용한 신경세포 허혈모델에서 irp94 유전자의 발현

        Background: The ischemia responsive protein 94 kDa(irp94) gene belongs to the heat shock protein 110 family and was isolated in 1999 from rat brain by transiently induced forebrain ischemia. The PC12 cell is the pheochromocytoma cell line of rat, which is differentiated to a sympathetic neuron-like cell by the stimulation of a nerve growth factor. This study is to determine whether irp94 is expressed when an ischemia-like condition is induced by ATP depletion in cultured PC12 cells in vitro. Methods: PC12 cells were maintained as monolayer cultures in RPMI-1640 medium(Sigma) supplemented with 10% horse serum, 5% fetal bovine serum, 5 mg/ml transferrin, and 1 mg/ml insulin in a humidified 5% CO2 incubator at 37℃. The ATP depleting agent antimycin A was added at concentrations of 1, 2.5, and 5 μM to simulate ischemia, and 10 μg/ml of tunicamycin, which is expected to express heat shock protein maximally, was used as a positive control. The cells were harvested after a 60-minute incubation, and the total RNA was extracted. The reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) was performed to use 501 bp irp94 cDNA as a molecular probe, and the expression of irp94 mRNA was analyzed by northern blotting. Results: The irp94 mRNA expression was enhanced, compared to the negative control group, as the concentration of antimycin A was increased. Conclusion: This study suggests that irp94 mRNA expression is enhanced as the severity of ischemia is increased. Thus, it is possible to investigate the mechanism of ischemic neuronal injury indirectly by using this in-vitro model of neuronal ischemia.

      • 안내염과 대장암이 동반된 재발성 간농양

        The causes of pyogenic liver abscess has been known as biliary tract disease or intrabadominal infection but the large proportions of the patients has no apparent underlying disorders. Recently colonic mucosal lesions were reported in patients with cryptogenic liver abscess and it has been suggested that colonic mucosal break may play a role in developing liver abscess in otherwise healthy patients. We experienced a patient of severe recurrent liver abscess complicated with endophthalmitis only 3 months after successful treatment of initial cryptogenic liver abscess and a polypoid colon cancer was discovered by chance. It seems prudent to proceed colonoscopic examination in patients with cryptogenic liver abscess especially when it is recurrent.

        Emissions from aircraft have impacts on the air pollution of airport and the surrounding area. There are methods of emissions calculated as Tier 1, Tier2, Tier 3A and Tier 3B. Thus, this study investigated emissions from aircraft at the Gimhae International Airport using EDMS(Emissions & Dispersion Modeling System) program. Results of estimation from aviation emissions, Tier 3B considering all parts which can occur at the airport has the largest amount emissions. In order to understand the relation between aviation emissions and distribution of ozone concentration over airport area, numerical evaluation were carried out. Although the difference of surface ozone distribution between numerical assessment with and without aviation emissions was little, effects of air pollution at airport area from aviation emissions of NOx and VOCs.

        This paper aims to introduce cross?lagged correlation analysis, and to explain the critical weak points of the method. It was said that cross?lagged correlation analysis was a useful statistical method for testing causal predominance in a logitudinal panel data by comparing cross?lagged correlation coefficients. But some researchers pointed out the unsoundness of the method. The contents of this article were presented as follows: First, the nature of causality was discussed from three view?points; philosophical, logical and psychological considerations. Second, terminologies, assumptions and testing procedures of cross?lagged correlation were presented. Third, the problems and limitations of cross?lagged correlation analysis which are mainly presented by Rogosa (1980), were summarized.

      • 고등학교 통계수업에서 줄기그림 활용에 관한 연구

        줄기그림은 새로 개발된 탐색적 자료분석의 한 방법이다. 우리들은 본 연구에서 고등학교의 통계수업에서 자료분석과 모아진 통계자료의 요약을 위한 새로운 학습보조자료로서 줄기그림을 활용을 통한 교수학습방법을 제안하고 적용하여 보았다. 줄기그림을 보조학습자료로 사용한 결과 학생들은 관찰된 자료의 구조를 쉽게 파악할 수 있었고, 보다 창조적으로 자료분석에 대한 사고의 폭을 넓힐 수 있었다. 그리고 고등학교 통계단원에서의 자료분석방법을 다루는 보조학습자료로서의 줄기그림의 활용 가능성에 대한 확인을 할 수 있었다. The stem plot is a new method of exploratory data analysis. This method is very simple and easy. In this paper we proposed the usuful method of stem plot in mathematics education at highschool and applicated to highschool students at school mathematics as a method of the statistical data analysis. According to the result of experiment for data analysis learning of observed data with the stem plot as learning aided tools, students could understand easily the structure of the observed data with the stem plot. The students could extend the width of thinking with the creative motivation. And we could confirm the possibility of application about the stem plot in highschool statistics classes.

      • 고추 PCR 조건의 최적화

        신품종에 대한 육종가의 권리보호용 고추 RAPD 마커를 개발하기 위한 기초연구로 PCR에 영향을 주는 요인들에 대한 최적화가 이루어졌으며 주요 결과를 요약하면 다음가 같다. 1. MgCl₂ 농도는 DNA증폭에 직접적인 영향을 주었으며 본 실험의 결과는 고추 PCR에 요구되는 MgCl₂의 최소농도는 3mM임을 보였다. 2. 공시된 2고추 조합간데 차이는 있었지만 Taq DNA polymerase는 1.5U이상의 조건일 때 DNA증폭에 효과적임이 관측되었다. 3. 본 실험에 사용된 template DNA양 중 최소인 10ng의 수준으로도 성공적인 DNA증폭을 보였다 4. dNTPs농도는 200~400μM 수준이 적당하였다. 5. Primer의 농도가 높아짐에 따라 band의 선명도가 증가하는 경향을 보였으며 200nM이상의 농도에서 뚜렷한 band가 관측되었다. 6. 공시된 두조합에서 모두 annealing 온도가 높아짐에 따라 minor band의 수가 줄어들고 major band의 선명도가 증가했다. 7. 본 실험의 결과는 3mM의 MgCl₂, 1.5U의 Taq, DNA polymerase, 10ng의 template DNA, 200μM의 dNTPs, 200nM의 primer, 그리고 42℃의 annealing 온도가 고추의 random primer를 이용한 PCR이 적정수준이 될 수 있음을 제시하였다. Factors affecting PCR have been optimized as a fundamental study in developing RAPD markers to protect breeder's right for new cultivars in Capsicums. DNA amplification was directly influenced by MgCl₂ concentration and the result showed that the minimum concentration required for PCR in Capsicums was 3mM. Although there was a difference between two pepper combinations tested, it was observed that over 1.5U of Taq. DNA polymerase was effective in DNA amplification. A successful DNA amplification was obtained with 10ng of template DNA, the smallest amount tested in this experiment. The proper level of dNTPs was the range between 200 and 400μM. There was a tendency that the intensity of bands was increased as the concentration of random primer increased and clear bands were observed with the concentration above 200nM. In both pepper combinations tested, the number of nonspecific bands was decreased and the intensity of major bands was increased as the annealing temperature was increased. The results suggested that the optimum conditions for PCR with random primer in Capsicums could be obtained with 3mM of MgCl₂, 1.5U of Taq. DNA polymerase, 10ng of template DNA, 200μM of dNTPs, 200nM of random primer, and 42℃ of annealing temperature.
