        남병철의 혼천의 연구 I

        In this paper we have reconstructed an armillary sphere based on the Method of an Armillary Sphere Making described in the Volume 1 of The Collection of Writings on the Scientific Instruments-Uigijipsol (儀器輯說, two volumes) edited in the 1850's by Nam Byong-Chul (南秉哲, 1817-1863) who was a famous Korean states-man-scientist. Nam achieved convenience and accuracy in the measurements of stellar positions in the manner of selective setting the equatorial, ecliptic and horizontal poles by adding a pole axis exchange ring called Jaigeukkwon (載極圈) between the Three Arrangers of Time and Four Displacements. We made use of 3-dimensional graphic software for modelling Nam's armillary sphere which consisted of five layers-eight rings. Results of simulation showed that the pole axis exchange ring functioned properly in setting the equatorial, ecliptic and horizontal coordinates simply by exchange of positions of specified holes on the ring. We ascertained that the invention of Jaigeukkwon solved inherent problems in the conventional Chinese armillary sphere in computation of real ecliptic coordinates. It was revealed that Nam Byong-Chul made great contributions in the East Asian history of armillary sphere making.

Methods: We collated and reviewed previously conducted review studies on border closures during infectious disease outbreaks to derive relevant themes and factors. Results: According to our systematic review on border closures and travel restrictions, the effects of such containment efforts are limited. We suggest considering the following factors when determining whether to impose border closure measures: (1) disease characteristics, (2) timeliness of implementation, (3) transmission delay and the basic reproduction number, (4) globalization and pandemics, and (5) social and economic costs. Conclusions: Our assessment indicates that the effects of border closures are at best temporary and limited. Alternative measures must be contemplated and implemented to suppress the spread of COVID-19 in particular and infectious diseases more broadly.

      • 도.토기의 과학적 분석-경상남도 도요지 출토 토기편을 중심으로

        The scientific analysis and provenance study of potteries excavated from kiln site at Gyeongsang Nam-do were carried out using XRD, ICP-AES and NAA. We can summary the following Result :1. As a result of XRD analysis, it showed that soft potteries consisted of quartz, feldspar and clay minerals while hard potteries consisted of high temperature crystals such as mullite, tridymite, cristobalite.In case of firing temperature which are determined by XRD, potteries consisted of quartz, feldspar and clay mineral had very low firing temperature. While potteries having only cristobalite ranged above $1200^{\circ}C$.2. As a result of correlation analysis using trace element, the selected characteristic elements which was able to distinguish from each kiln site was Sm, Cs, Sc, Eu, Hf.3. Discriminant analytical showed that each kiln site were classified into 4-gruops;Kimhaeci Daesungdong, Hamangun Myosari, Changyounggun Yochori and one group mixed KimhaeciGuosandong, Kimhaeci Samgyeri. This suggests that there are no correlations between the raw materials used in each kiln sites except Kimhaeci Guosandong, Kimhaeci Samgyeri.

        본 연구에서는 世宗 자격루에 쓰인 잣대[浮箭]를 복원하기 위하여 당시의 計時機 유물들을 조사하여 十二時 百刻制의 모델을 구성하였다. 「世宗實錄」의 報漏閣記와 「漏籌通義」의 기록에 따라 11箭의 눈금에 따른 更點의 길이를 계산하였다. 이 잣대들은 「七政算內編」에 따라 계산된 漢暘의 二至後 日出入辰刻에 의거하여 차례가 정해졌음을 알 수 있었으며 잣대간의 시간차는 二刻(곧 12분)씩이었다. '보루각기'에는 밤의 잣대 (夜箭)가 12개라고 기록되어 있고 「누주통의」에는 11개로 적혀있어 두 가지 기록이 일치되지 않았으나 「칠정산내편」에 따라 편찬된 「누주통의」의 11箭으로도 1년간을 통용할 수 있도록 하였음이 밝혀졌다. 본 연구 결과는 조선조 초기의 천체 관측기기와 자격루를 비롯한 여러 가지 계시기의 복원에 활용할 수 있으리라 생각한다. The horary systems of early period of Choseon dynasty depended 'chiljeongsan naepyeon'(七政算內編, Seven Regulators Calendar, volume 1) based on the Shou-shih calendar of Yuan Dynasty. The day was diveded in twelve 'double - hours'(十二時), each corresponding to two hours of present time and one hundred equal intervals called 'gak' (刻), each corresponding to 14 min 24 sec of modern time-reckoning. The night was divided into five equal but seasonally variable night-watches(kyeong, 更), each of which was divided into five equal portions(points, cheom, 點). In this paper 'twelve double-hours' and 'one hundred interval horary system models were reconstructed based on the 'borugakki'(報漏閣記, Record of Time Annunciating Pavillion) and 'nujutongui'(漏籌通義, Operation manual of the clepsydra for the night-watches). The eleven floating indicator-rod (浮箭) were used for the clepsydra of night-watches during a year. These rods were graduated by the sun-rise and sun-set time of Seoul after summer and winter solstices indicated to 'chiljeongsan'. The horary system models will be useful for the reconstructing astronomical instraments and several time-measarement instraments as well as automatic striking water-clock(chagyeongnu, 自擊漏) of the King Sejong(世宗 1418~1450).

        This paper is the study on continuous prestressed concrete bridge by connecting the node of simple prestress concrete bridge. The purpose of the study is the review of reduced positive bending moment at center of beam, negative bending moment at the node and size of connecting concrete. From this research, we found that positive and negative bending moment depend on the size of connecting concrete which decide the sectional area of reinforcing bar.

      • 웹 기반 공동작업 지원시스템의 개발

        최근 웹의 확산과 더불어 제품개발을 위하여 공동작업 구성원들 사이의 정보 공유와 재사용을 지원하는 웹 기반의 공동작업 지원 시스템 개발에 대한 관심이 고조되고 있다. 기업 및 공공기관의 공동작업은 광범위하게 분산되어 있는 경우가 많으며, 여러 작업그룹 내의 구성원은 이러한 환경에서 효과적으로 서로의 정보를 교환하고 공유할 수 있는 작업공간을 필요로 한다 또한 공동작업의 결과로서 생성된 기술문서의 체계적인 관리 기능과 실시간 의사전달의 기능 등이 함께 제공되는 것이 바람직하다. 본 논문에서는 웹 기반의 공동작업 지원 시스템인 CoWare의 설계와 구현에 대하여 설명한다. CoWare는 통합시스템으로서 CoSpace, CoDocs, CoMail로 명명된 세 개의 관련된 시스템으로 구성된다. CoSpace는 자료의 저장과 공유를 위하여 개인 및 작업그룹을 위한 작업공간을 제공하고, CoDocs는 전자문서의 체계적인 관리를 지원하며, CoMail은 실시간 의사전달의 기능을 제공한다. CoSpace, CoDocs, 그리고 CoMail은 기본적으로 사용자 정보, 사용자 그룹정보, 작업그룹정보의 공유를 통하여 상호 연계되어, 보다 자연스럽고 효율적으로 공동작업을 지원할 수 있다. With rapid growth of World-Wide Web(WWW or Web), much interest has shifted to develop a Web-based collaborative work system which supports information sharing and reusing. Most of collaborative works in a company or a public corporation are widely distributed. In such an environment, members of work groups require workspaces for exchanging and sharing information. In addition to those workspaces, it is desirable to support real-time messaging facility and systematic management of technical documents produced during collaborative works. In this paper, we describe the design and implementation of a Web-based groupware, named CoWare, which supports effective collaboration. The CoWare system is an integrated system including three related systems : CoSpace, CoDocs and CoMail. The CoSpace system provides personal workspace and shared workspace for storing and sharing informations. The CoDocs system manages electronic documents systematically, while the CoMail system supports real-time messaging facility. Basically, the user information, the user group information, and the work group information are shared among CoSpace, CoDocs, and CoMail. Thereby, the CoWare system supports more natural and effective collaboration.

      • 朝鮮朝의 渾天儀 硏究

        Armillary spheres called honchonui is to show that during the Chosen dynasty (1392∼ 1910), Korean astronomy and technology went on its own path distinctive not only from that of the West but also from that of China, both of which had great influences on it. Our study is based upon the research of written materials and the physical investigation of some existing instruments; its findings will be used for our reconstruction of armillary spheres that were made during the middle of the dynasty. During the Choson, armillary spheres were developed to facilitate the propagation of Confucian ideology, on the one hand, to improve the knowledge of astronomy, on the other. Recognizing their importance at both aspects, the kings devoted themselves to toe making and repairing of the instruments. As time went, individuals outside of the court began to participate in making them. During the middle of the dynasty, that it from the Japanese invasion to the end of King Yongjo's rule, the Korean scientists incorporated the knowledge from the West in the making of armillary spheres. The period of King Hyonjong's reign witnessed a real innovation in making of armillary clocks. Two important scholar-officials played a major role in the renaissance of Korean technology. Upon the king's order, Yi Minch'ol cast new armillary spheres with a water-operated mechanism ; Song Iyong was also ordered to make a "self-sounding clock", that it a weight-driven armillary clock which was affected by the import of a western-style clock through China and Japan. Their joint efforts indeed led to a breakthrough not only in the history of Korean technology but also in that of mankinds. In this way, they succeeded in making armillary spheres in their own way beyond both Chinese and Western traditions of horological instrumentation. To be sure, the reconstruction of armillary spheres for which this study is to lay foundation will further stimulate the efforts at illustrating the history of Korean technology.

        전북지역 자동차산업 입지와 지역산업 실태 및 발전방향

        전북지역 자동차산업 입지는 1990년대 초반 양적성장단계에 접어든 완성자업체의 저렴한 생산공간 확보전략과 정부의 선도기업 입지에 의한 지역균형발전 개발정책에 의해 이루어졌다. 그 결과 부품산업의 기반 없이 완성차업체가 입지한 후 부품 및 소재업체가 입지하는 반대되는 발전 패턴을 취하고 있기 때문에 취약한 지역산업의 구조적인 문제점을 보이고 있다. 우선, 지역 부품산업의 계층적인 구조가 정립되지 않아 효율적인 분업생산체제를 갖추지 못하여 많은 부품을 외부지역에 의존하고 있다. 그리고 대부분의 부품업체는 특정 완성차업체에 전속되어 있으며, 지역 부품산업의 대부분은 단순 임가공을 필요로 하는 저부가가치 업종으로 이루어져 있다. 마지막으로, 다른 지역에 비해 상대적으로 연관산업의 집적도가 낮아 기업유치 경쟁력이 낮은 문제점 등을 가지고 있다. 자동차산업을 지역산업으로 특화시켜 지역경제발전을 도모하기 위해서는 연관산업의 공간적 집적을 이루어 생산과정의 유연화를 창출해야 할 것이다. 최근 자동차 산업은 저기조달방식과 모듈생산의 진전으로 완성차업체와 부품업체간의 지리적 근접성이 중요한 입지결정 요인으로 작용하고 있으며, 모듈생산방식은 기존의 공장에서 시도되기 보다는 새롭게 개발된 공장에서 주로 시도되고 있는 것으로 나타나고 있다. 따라서 지역단체는 우호적인 기업환경의 조성과 적극적인 기업유치전략을 통해 모듈화된 부품공급이 가능하도록 집적화된 산업단지의 육성을 도모해야 할 것이다. The location of auto industry in Jeon-buk is due to the strategies for secure a low-priced industrial site of the auto assembly companies, which attained to quantitative growth stage in the early part 1990's, and the regional balanced development policy by the location of leader enterprise of the government. As a consequence of the reversal development pattern that is located the auto parts firm after locating the auto assembly companies, the Jeon-buk auto industry has many structural vulnerability. First, because of the lack development of auto parts industries, the auto assembly companies located in Jeon-buk are dependent many auto parts at a external region. Second, most of auto parts firm belongs to the singular assembly company exclusively. And the majority of auto parts industries are the low value-added products that are necessary a simple labor power. Third, the agglomeration undeveloped of associated industries with automobile caused a low competitiveness of invitation a manufacturing company as against other provinces. For a regional economic development by the auto industry, it is necessary a flexible regional structure of production through an agglomeration of associated industries. The geographical proximity between an assembly company and a parts firms is an important locational factor with the induction of Just-in-Time production system and a modularization in the auto industry. And a modularization applies to more new factory than the existing factories. So that, Jeon-buk self-government has to create an amicable industrial environment, try to attract an auto parts enterprises and plan an agglomerated industrial complex that is able to supply a parts modulated to assembly company.
