      • Vincristine Sulfate가 Mouse 모낭세포의 미세구종에 미치는 영향에 관한 전자현미경적 연구

        Vincristine sulfate, one of thte Vinca alkaloids has been used clinically as an antitumor reagent. Vincristine sulfate has high affinity to the basic protein subunit of microtubules, that it disrupts the mitotic spindle apparatus. As a result this reagent causes the cell to arrest in metaphase and to die finally. When vincristine was spread on the skin it would damage the growth of the hair, that the author undertook the present study to observe the effect of vincristine onthe cytoplasmic organelles of the hair follicular cells. Male albino mouse, DDY strain, weighing 20gm were used as an experimental animals. The back skin of experimental animals were spread with a vincristine sulfate solution(1mg/5ml) once a day for 6 days after cutting of the hair. The experimental animals were sacrificed at 2 day, 4 day, and 6 day after first treatmetn and specimens obtained from the skin of the vincristine treated area. The specimens were prefixed in 2% glutaradehyde-2.5% paraformaldehyde solution and postfixed in 1% osmium tetroxide solution and then ultrathin section, 600-800A, were made and stained with uranyl acetate and lead citrate. Some specimens were also fixed in 10% formalin for hematoxylin eosin stain. The specimens were observed with light microscopy and JEM 100cx-II electrom microscopy. The results were as follows. 1. Hair follicles were decreased numerously in the skin of the 4th and 6th vincristine treated group. And the length of the hair was reduced in the skin of the 6th vincristine treated group. 2. In the 2nd vincristine treated group, irregularly shaped nuclei, reduced heterochromatin and numerous vacuoles wre observed in the external root sheath cells. In cells of the inner root sheath, heterochromatin was segregated and clumpped, and cristae of mitochondria was disappeared. 3. In the 4th vincristine treated group, dilatation of cisternae of the rough endoplasmic reticulum, degenerated mitochondria were observed in the external root sheath cells. And trichohyaline granules were reduced and condensed nuclei were observed in the cells of the Henley's layer. 4. In the 6th vincristine treated group, cuticle cells were more keratinized. And in the external root sheath cells, colummar shaped nuclei, degenerative mitochondria and rough endoplasmic reticulum, and decreased cisternae of Golgi apparatus were observed. Consequently, it is suggested that vincristine sulfute would induce the degenerative changes in the hair follicular cells.

      • 예방접종과 육아수첩에 대한 부모들의 인지도

        A study was performed to get some information about the parents' attitudes regarding immunization and immunization record. Five hundred and ninety nine parents who visited to well baby clinics in 4 affiliated hospitals of Soonchunhyang University were randomly selected and requested to fill up the questionnaire. The results were as follows ; 1. A majority of respondants(83.5%) to questionnaires brought the immunization record with their children when immunization. 2. The number of parents who know the primary immunization schedule correctly were 304(50.8%) and majority of the parents misunderstood chicken pox vaccination as primary immunization. 3. About the half of the respondants(49.5%) received immunization by pediatritian. Percentages of the parents who received immunization at regional health care center were 24.1% in Seoul and 42.8% in other cities. 4. Only below half of the respondants(45.7%) thought to be satisfied to physician's information about the side effects of vaccination and 26.9% of the respondants never get the information about any side effects. 5. Many of the respondants(80.6%) thought that there was no or few advantage to immunization by pediatritian. 6. Most of the cases(84.1%) record the immunization status and which were done by nurse(51.4%), physician(27.1%) and parents themselves(21.5%) 7. Only the 21.5% of the respondants received the record of growth and development milestones of their children and 37.7% of the respondants experienced nutritional counseling when vaccination. 8. The reasons of importance of immunization records are for general evaluation of child health since at birth(58.6%) and for not to skip routine vaccination(40.1%).

      • 고집적 FRAM 소자를 위한 Pb(Zr, Ti)O₃ 박막의 Retention 특성

        Retention loss is a significant issue for an application of ferroelectric thin films to high-density non-volatile memory devices. We investigated the polarization retention characteristics of ferroelectric Pb(Zr,Ti)O_(3)(PZT) thin films which were fabricated on Pt/IrO_(2)/Ir substrates by different deposition methods. In thermally-accelerated retention failure tests, Pb(Zr,Ti)O_(3)(PZT) films which were prepared by a chemical solution deposition (CSD) method showed rapid decay of retained polarization charges as the films became thinner down to 1000 Å, while the films which were grown by metal organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) showed relatively large nonvolatile charges at the same thickness. We concluded that in the CSD-grown films, the relatively large interfacial passive layer compared with the MOCVD-grown films had an unfavorable effect on retention behavior. We observed the existence of such interfacial layers by extrapolation of the total capacitance with thickness of the films and the capacitance of this layer was larger in MOCVD-grown films. It means that the possibility of the accumulation of space charges at the interface was reduced, so that less imprint and less retention loss could be observed in the MOCVD-grown films.

      • 낮은 종횡비의 직각밀폐용기내의 공기의 자연대류의 관한 실험연구

        Natural convection in a rectangular air enclosure of aspect ratio 0. 1 was studied experimentally through visualization of flow and temperature field using Video-System and Mach-Zender interferometer. Interferometric study shows linear temperature profile in the core up to Rayleigh number 3.264×104 indicating that the principle mode of heat transfer in the enclosure is conduction. Temperature distribution in the core varies both in the horizontal and vertical directions for increasing Rayleigh number up to 1.306×105, and the heat transfer in the enclosure occurs both by conduction and convection. Beyond that, there exist distinct horizontal thermal layers adjacent to the horizontal boundaries in the core, and the temperature distribution outside the horizontal thermal layer, i.e., in the mid-core, is vertically stratified. In this case the heat transfer in the enclosure occurs primarily by convection. Flow visualization indicated parallel core flow pattern up to Rayleigh number 1.306×105 and, beyond that, the core flow is confined to narrow region near the horizontal boundaries, i.e., in the horizontal flow layer, outside which the flow motion is nearly stagnant. Maximum heat transfer at the hot wall occurs at about □=0.3∼0.4 in contrast to the case of heated vertical plate, where maximum heat transfer occurs at leading edge.

        최적 체질량지수를 이용한 비만관리 기준 설정

        연구배경: 체질량지수 (body mass index)는 널리 이용되는 비만의 지표이다. 각 나라에서 체질량 지수를 이용하여 과체중과 비만을 정의하고 있는데, 동양인은 서양인과는 체격조건이 달라 서양에서 정한 기준을 그대로 적용할 수는 없다. 따라서 우리나라 사람들을 대상으로 한 최적 체질량지수를 구하고, 이를 기준으로 하여 비만 관리의 목표로 이용할 수 있는 체질량지수를 구하고자 하였다. 방법: 1996년 5월 1일에서 1999년 5월 31일 사이에 건강검진을 목적으로 부산의 한 3차 병원을 방문한 9,990명을 대상으로, 고혈압, 이상지질혈증, 공복혈당이상, 고요산혈증, 담석증, 간질환 등 비만과 관련이 있다고 알려진 질환들과 지방간, 심장질환, 위장관질환, 폐질환, 신장질환 등 13가지 의학적 문제를 이용하여 이환지수 (morbidity index)를 구하고, 신장과 체중을 이용하여 체질량지수를 구하였다. 이차함수 회귀곡선을 이용하여 이환지수와 체질량지수와의 관계를 그린 후 이차함수곡선의 최하점에서 최적 체질량지수를 구하였고, 로지스틱 회귀분석을 이용하여 최적 체질량지수를 기준으로 하여 이환지수가 유의하게 증가하는 체질량지수를 구하였다. 결과: 체질량지수와 이환지수의 관계를 나타내는 이차함수 곡선의 최하점에서의 체질량지수 는 남성에서는 20.6 ㎏/㎡, 여성에서는 19.5 ㎏/㎡이었다. 이를 기준으로 할 때 남성에서는 체질량지수 23∼24 ㎏/㎡ 이상, 여성에서는 체질량지수 22∼23 ㎏/㎡ 이상에서 이환지수가 유의하게 증가하였다. 결론: 최적 체질량지수는 남성에서 21 ㎏/㎡, 여성에서 20 ㎏/㎡이며, 비만 관리에서 목표로 할 체질량지수는 남성에서 23∼24 ㎏/㎡, 여성에서 22∼23 ㎏/㎡ 정도가 적절할 것으로 생각된다. Background: Body mass index (BMI) is internationally accepted as an index of degree of overweight and obesity. Because Asian have different body frame and lower average BMI than whites, the classification of overweight and obesity recommended by the World Health Organization cannot be directly applied to Korean. Therefore we estimated ideal BMI and determined the level of BMI for obesity management in Korean. Methods: We investigated 9,990 men and women who visited a health promotion center, in the period May 1996 to May 1999. Thirteen medical problems served as indices of morbidity: hypertension, dyslipidemia, impaired fasting glucose, hyperuricemia, gallstone, liver disease, urinary tract infection, fatty liver, anemia, heart disease, gastrointestinal disease, lung disease, and renal disease. BMI (kg/㎡) versus morbidity index was plotted and quadratic regression curve was drawn. Value of BMI at the lowest point of the curve was defined as ideal BMI. The prevalence odds ratio was estimated in each categories of BMI based on value of ideal BMI. Results: Value of BMI at the lowest morbidity was 20.6 ㎏/㎡ in men and 19.5 ㎏/㎡ in women, and prevalence odds ratio of BMI showed significant increase in morbidity above 23∼24 ㎏/㎡ in men and 22∼23 ㎏/㎡ in women. Conclusion: We propose that ideal BMI is 21 ㎏/㎡ in men and 20 ㎏/㎡ in women, and the level of BMI for obesity management is 23∼24 ㎏/㎡ in men and 22∼23 ㎏/㎡ in women.

        Effect of Ambient Gases on the Characteristics of ITO Thin Films for OLEDs

        We have investigated the effect of ambient gases on the structural, electrical, and optical characteristics of ITO thin films intended for use as anode contacts in OLED (organic light emitting diodes) devices. These ITO thin films are deposited by radio frequency (RF) magnetron sputtering under different ambient gases (Ar, Ar+$O_2$, and Ar+$H_2$) at $300{^{\circ}C}$. In order to investigate the influences of the oxygen and hydrogen, the flow rate of oxygen and hydrogen in argon mixing gas has been changed from 0.5 sccm to 5 sccm and from 0.01 sccm to 0.25 sccm, respectively. The intensity of the (400) peak in the ITO thin films increased with increasing $O_2$, flow rate whilst the (400) peak was nearly invisible in an atmosphere of Ar+$H_2$. The electrical resistivity of the ITO thin films increased with increasing $O_2$ flow rate, whereas the electrical resistivity decreased sharply under an Ar+$H_2$ atmosphere and was nearly similar regardless of the $H_2$ flow rate. The change of electrical resistivity with changes in the ambient gas composition was mainly interpreted in terms of the charge carrier mobility rather than the charge carrier concentration. All the films showed an average transmittance of over 80% in the visible range. The OLED device was fabricated with different ITO substrates made with the configuration of ITO/$\alpha$-NPD/DPVB/$Alq_3$/LiF/Al in order to elucidate the performance of the ITO substrate. Current density and luminance of OLED devices with ITO thin films deposited in Ar+$H_2$ ambient gas is the highest among all the ITO thin films.

        Robust Controller Design for Nonlinear Systems

        본 논문에서는 출력 궤환 선형화 방법을 사용해서 입출력 동수인 MIMO 비선형 시스템에 대한 견실한 출력을 추종하는 제어 전략을 제안하였다. 제로 다이나믹스 상태들은 접근 불가능하기 때문에 제로 다이나믹스 상태들은 비선형 최소 위상으로 가정하였으며, 또한 2차 슬라이딩 모드 제어 방법은 원하는 출력을 추종할 수 있도록 하는 제어기를 설계하기위해서 사용되었다. 그 결과 모든 상태 신호들이 유한한 상태를 유지하는 동안 불확실성이 존재 함에도 불구하고 원하는 출력의 궤적을 접근적으로 추종함을 알 수 있었다. 그 결과를 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통하여 보였으며, 제안된 제어 알고리즘에 대한 타당성을 입증하였다. In this paper, we proposed the robust output tracking control scheme for a class of MIMO nonlinear dynamical systems using output feedback linearization method. Because the states of zero dynamics are not accessible, we consider these states as bounded uncertainties(or disturbances) under the assumption that zero dynamics is stable(or nonlinear minimum phase) and also we have no priori knowledge concerning the magnitude of these uncertainties. A second order sliding mode control method is used to establish the desired output tracking controller. It is shown that the outputs of the closed-loop system asymptotically track given output trajectories despite the uncertainties while maintaining the boundedness of all signals inside the loop. From the computer simulation results for the numerical example, we prove the validity of the proposed control algorithm.

        Accessory breast tissue is developed from persistence of breast tissue along the milk line which first beomes apparent at the 6th week of embryo and usually atrophies except for the thoracic area until the 9th week. It is much more common than amastia and occurs in approximately from 2 to 6 percent of the population. But multiple polymastia involving labia major is quite rare. We experienced one case of multiple polymastia involving labia majora & both axilla and 6 cases of polymastia & polyhelia, so we are willing to report our cases with a review of literature.

        석유화학공장 근로자에서 발생한 재생불량성 빈혈 1례

        Aplastic anemia is characterized by pancytopenia with hypocellular bone marrow. Fifty percent of the cases are idiopathic and the rest are caused by various agents including drugs, chemicals, radiation and viruses. It is difficult to link specific etiologic agents, especially chemicals to the development of aplastic anemia because multiple or unknown exposures may be involved in. Benzene, a common industrial chemical and a component of gasoline, may lead progressively to pancytopenia, aplastic anemia and leukemia when exposed. A petrochemical worker with aplastic anemia was referred to our hospital to evaluate a relationship between the job history and the disease. He worked in the petrochemical plant for 21 years and was exposed to low-level benzene. There was not anyother etiologic agent except benzene and this is the case report of aplastic anemia which possibly due to benzene exposure.
