      • 초등학생들의 물질 개념에 관한 연구

        Over the past 20 years, research on students' conceptual development of science concepts has begun to inform educators about the roles that prior knowledge and experiences play in the development of conceptual understandings. Whereas many initial studies focused on identifying and cataloging naive of misconceptions, more recent research has focused on how student concept development research can inform teaching practice and curriculum design. In this study, we investigated children's (ages 11∼12) spontaneously constructed or naive understanding of the particulate nature of matter prior to any formal instruction in the domain. Thirty students were interviewed concerning their understanding of the macroscopic and microscopic properties of the states of matter(solid, liquid, and gas), as well as their macro/microscopic understanding of phase changes and dissolving. Children expressed ideas about states of matter which were categorized as macrocontinuous, macroparticulate, or microparticulate. Furthermore, a substantial number of the children provided explanations of properties and processes which were consistent with those beliefs. These children's beliefs about matter were not fully and consistently developed across the spectrum of substances from continuous solids to particulate solids to liquids to gases. We speculate that children first develop local frameworks particular to different classes of substances and then slowly expand these frameworks to include a wide range of substances and their properties as well as such processes as melting and freezing.

        Interleukin-2를 이용한 진행성 위장관암의 비장을 경유한 자가 LAK Cell의 면역학적 반응

        To elucidate the anticancer effect by observing the effect of LAK cells after infusion of IL-2 through splenic artery for the advanced gastrointestinal cancer, randomized study was performed for the 8 patients who had liver metastasis from gastic and rectal cancer. 4 patients were performed subtotal gastrectomy for stomach cancer and the others were done abdominoperineal resections for rectal cancer. The liver metastasis were noted all of the cases after surgery between October 1989 and December 1992 at the Department of Surgery, Keimyung University School of Medicine. After confirmation of the hepatic metastasis from gastorintestinal cancer, we performed selective splenic arterial infusin of IL-2 with the dosage of 20,000 units/kg B.W. We checked the immune function pre-and post-IL2 infusion therapy, such as total lymphocyte count, T-cell percentage and CMI multitest with blood count and hepatorenal function. There was no difference between the pre-and post IL-2 infusion in the hemoglobin, serum protein, albumin, BUN and creatinin. The total lymphocyte counts of pre-and post IL-2 infusion were 1641.2 and 1727.4, respectively. The T cell percentage of pre-and infusion were 62.51% and 64.27%, respectively and had the tendency to increase in comparison with pre-IL-2 infusion, but there were not stastical differences. The results of CML muiltitest of pre-and post IL-2 infusion were not definite differences. From the above results, it could be suggested that LAK cell after infusion of IL-2 via selective splenc artery had the slightly positive effect of the immune function of advanced gastrointestinal cancer patient, with hepatic metastasis.

      • 허혈성 전처치의 심장보호 효과 : 허혈후 재관류시 관혈류와 심근기능 사이의 관계 relation between coronary flow and cardiac function during postischemic reperfusion

        It has been demonstrated that brief period of ischemia and reperfusion (ischemic preconditioning, IP) enhances recovery of post-ischemic contractile dysfunction and reduces incidences of reperfusion-induced arrhythmia or infarct size after a prolonged ischemia. Recent studies suggest that IP triggers activation of protein kinase C (PKC). In the present study, the author teated this hypothesis with PKC activator, phorbol ester (PMA, 0.01 nM) or inhibitor, calphostin C (200 nM) to measure the left ventricular function and infarct size; and assessed whether hemodynamics are related with each other or not. Hearts isolated from New Zealand White rabbits (1.5-2.0 kg body weight) were perfused with Tyrode solution by Langendorff technique. After stabilization of baseline hemodynamics, the hearts were subjected to 45 min global ischemia followed by 120 min reperfusion with IP (IP group, n=7) or without IP (ischemic control group, n=7). IP was induced by single episode of 5 min global ischemia and 10 min reperfusion. In the PMA-treated group (n=13), the heart was subjected to perfusion with Tyrode solution containing PMA for 5 min after stabilization of the baseline, washing out (for 10 min with normal perfusion), and 45 min ischemia and 120 min reperfusion; in the calphostin C-treated preconditioned group (n=15), calphostin C was given for 15 min from 5 min before IP regimen. Left ventricular function including developed pressure (LVDP), dP/dt, heart rate, left ventricular end-diastolic pressure (LVEDP) and coronary flow (CF) was measured. Iinfarct size was determined by staining with tetrazolium salt and planimetry. Data were anaalyzed by one-way analysis of variance and Tukey's post-hoc test; and linear regression between hemodynamic values. In comparison with the ischemic control group, IP signifivantly increased the recovery of the left ventricular function including left ventricular developed pressure, contractility, and coronary flow. However, enhancement of the functional recovery disappeared by calphostin C or PMA treatment. IP and PMA also reduced infarct size (from 38 to 10-20%, p<0.05). However, calphostin C blocked infarct reduction effect of IP. These results suggest that in isolated Langendorff-perfused rabbit heart model, IP could improve post-ischemic contractile dysfunction, as well as it has an infarct size-liniting effect; these cardioprotective effect of IP may be related, at least in part, to trigger activation of PKC, however, there are any relationship between hemodynamics.

        The computerization is an important factor for scientific construction management. Con-struction management softwares are being widely used for computerizing project control and scheduling. The code systems in those softwares enable various classifications of con-struction information such as filtering, sorting and grouping, and facilitate easy appli-cation of computer system. This study analyzes the code systems of three softwares, which are representatively used in the construction sites, through a comparative analysis for the applicability in construction management. Finally the study suggests a desirable structure of code system and a selection criterion of software to improve the applicability of construction management softwares in the construction sites.

      • 脂質 종류에 따른 나일틸라피아의 성장 효과

        양어 사료에 피드오일을 첨가하면 사료 효율이 향상된다. 나일틸라피아가 요구하는 필수 지방산의 종류를 알아보기 위하여 대두유 및 옥수수유 등의 식물유 및 오징어 간유, 어유를 사료에 첨가하고 사육하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. n-6 계열이 풍부한 식물유를 투여한 실험구가 n-3 계열의 어유를 투여한 실험구 보다 성장이 좋았으며 그 중에서도 대두유 첨가구가 가장 양호하였다. 총 지질중의 20:3n-9의 수준은 유지의 종류에 따라 현저한 차이는 없었으나 극성 지질중의 20:3n-9의 수준은 어유 및 오징어 간유 보다는 식물유구에서 낮게 나타났다. 틸라피아 사료에 첨가하는 지질로서는 n-6계열을 많이 포함하는 것이 적당할 것으로 나타났다. Experiments were conducted to find out suitable dietary lipids in the practical feed for Nile tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus. Soybean oil, corn oil, fish oil or cuttlefish liver oil was mixed in the diet and tested. The best weight gain and feed efficiency were obtained from the fish fed soybean oil or corn oil, both rich in 18:2n-6. But the growth rate of fish fed diet with fish oil or cuttlefish liver oil were inferior. The levels of 20:3n-9 in the total lipid were not different in all tested lipids, but that in the polar lipid of the fish oil or cuttlefish liver oil were lower than that in the soybean oil or corn oil. Thus, vegetable oil such as soybean oil or corn oil, rich in 18:2n-6, were suitable as dietary lipid for Nile tilapia. Unlike other fish species, fish oil or cuttlefish liver oil showed no essential dietary value for this species.

        신경섬유종증(렉클링하우젠병)에 의한 급사 1예 보고

        Neurofibromatosis type1(von Recklinghausen's disease) is characterized by multiple skin tumors and abnormal cutaneous pigmentation(cafe au lait spots). Unlikely the solitary neurofibroma, those encountered in von Recklinghausen's disease may cause significant morbidity. The vasculopathy, although poorly recognized manifestation of von Recklinghausen's neurofibromatosisis a major case of fatal cases. One of its most dramatic presentation is the spontaneous hemothorax. We report a case of Von Recklinghausen's disease with multiple neurofibromatosis accompanying intrathoracic hemorrhage due to vascular rupture, which is the first legal autopsy case in Korea.

        폐 림프관확장증 3예 보고

        Congenital pulmonary lymphangiectasis is a rare cause of severe respiratory distress in the newborn period and most of these patients die, usually within the first 24 hours of life. The light microscopic characteristics of the lungs are a network of partly tubular, partly cystically enlarged lymph vessels with-in large areas of connective tissue and they have thin walls lined by endothelium. Also congenital pulmonary lymphangiectasis is closely associated with cardiovascular malformation, and most frequently occurs in the clinical setting of congenital heart disease with or without pulmonary venous obstruction(total anomalous venous return, atresia of large pulmonary veins). The authors describe three typical cases of congenital pulmonary lymphangiectasis.

        산탄총창(散彈銃創) 2예 보고

        Shotguns were developed as an alternative to single-missile rifle or handgun in order to enable gunner to spray a wide area with shot and thus kill birds and small animals too difficult to hit with single-missile weapons. As the popularity of shotguns grew, ammunition was developed for large game. The use of shotguns on humans has been markedly increasing in various manner of death. In forensic aspect, the shotgun wonds gave characteristic findings due to their own characteristics and medical examiners may determine the range, distance, direction and kinds of gun. When the muzzle of the shotgun is placed tightly against the surface of the abdomen or thorax, the consequent wound of entrance will be single in number and circular in shape, and will have a diameter approximately equal to that of the bore of the weapon. However, when the wound is made over a site with underlying bone, especially in the scalp, the wound may have a different appearance, showing star shaped entracce due to short to mid-range, considerable variation occurs in the appearance, showing star shaped entrance due to tears from the sides of the wound and accompanying soot and burn effect. When the muzzle is held short to mid-range, considerable variation occurs in the appearance of the wound. We report two cases of shotgun wounds which showed typical findings of contact shots and distant shots.
