A Michelson interferometric AC voltage/current sensor has been fabricated by using a single mode optical fiber and a cylindrical PZT of which a radial displacement varies according to applied voltage. A sensor head was fabricated by winding the sensing alai around a cylindrical PZT. An AC voltage, applied to the PZT, could be measured by number of interference fringe variation during one period of AC signal. A primary AC current also could be measured by pick-up coil. The pick-up coil produced a corresponding low level current which was transduced to voltage and applied to the PZT. The measured fringe variation was linearly dependent on the amplitude of the applied voltage but had no relation with frequency. Linear response was obtained in the voltage range of 0~100V.
Micro-cavity형 광섬유 Fabry-Perot 간섭계의 형성 및 고감도 압력센서에의 응용

Because micro-cavity type optical fiber Fabry-Perot interferometric pressure sensor itself play a signal processing role, it has electrical safty and is immune to EMI(electro-magnetic interference). And it also has high sensitivity in the measured range and low sensitivity dependence on the thickness of diaphragm. Therefore it has many advantages, so it will be applicable to accelerate sensor, flow sensor, and microphone, etc.. In this paper, using silicon anisotropic etching technique and fiber optic sensing technique, micro-cavity type optical fiber Fabry-Perot interferometer was formed and a highly sensitive pressure sensor was fabricated. The fabricated micro-cavity type optical fiber Fabry -Perot interferometric pressure sensor showed repeatedly good output characteristics.
두경부 악성 림프종의 면역조직화학적 유형분석 및 Epstein-Barr virus의 검출

Background and Objectives : The Epstein-Barr virus(EBV) is a human herpes virus which causes infectious mononucleosis and is associated with such human cancers as Burkitt's lymphoma and nasopharyngeal carcinoma. However, the role of EBV as a causative factor in other head and neck tumors is not fully elucidated. Malignant lymphoma is a tumor of the immune system which is commonly known as a non-epithelioid tumor of the head and neck region. Recent studies have suggested a probable etiologic association between EBV and lymphomas. This study was performed to investigate the strength of the association of EBV with malignant lymphoma and to carry out an immunohistochemical classification. Materials and Methods : Twenty one cases of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma tissues in the head and neck were used. Immunohistochemical staining was carried out with EBV protein, CD20 and CD3. Results : Among the 21 cases of malignant lymphoma, 9(43%) of the cases were of B cell lineage, 10(48%) of the cases of T cell lineage and 2(10%) of the cases were of an unclassifiable type. The commonest histopathologic type were diffuse large cell types and diffuse mixed types in 8(38%) of the cases. All 6 cases(100%) of nasal/paranasal sinus lymphoma were T-cell lymphoma. The detection rate of EBV in malignant lymphoma tissue was 52%. EBV was detected in 5 cases(56%) of B-cell lineage and 6 cases(60%) of T-cell lineage. Among 6 cases of nasal/paranasal sinus T-cell lymphoma, 4(67%) were positive for anti-human EBV protein. In the positive cases, a large number of the neoplastic cells and infiltrated lymphocytes showed strong nuclear signals. Conclusion : These results suggest that most nasal/paranasal sinus lymphomas are T-cell type neoplasms and EBV probably plays an etiologic role in the pathogenesis of group nasal/paranasal sinus T-cell lymphomas.

In this study, we alalyzed the relationship between the time-variation trend of air pollution concentration index and the meteorological conditions with CO(carbon monoxide) concentration and meteorological observation data in high-CO episode days. CO is a representative automobil air pollutant. The results are as follows; 1. Most of the high-CO episode days within 30 classes appeared in winter season. 2. Most of them appeared under the surface weather conditions with east-west high-pressure system. The surface winds in this high-pressure area were very light. 3. The high-CO episode days were due to unusual accumulation within urban atmosphere in the morning. 4. The Atmospheric stabilities were more stable, and then the wind-ventilation conditions were worse than yearly mean atmospheric condition in Daegu.
다양한 확정성을 갖는 CSSM API를 이용한 전자상거래 적용 방안

This study is proposed the plan of applying CSSM API(Common Security Service Management Application Programming Interface) being various extensibility to Electronic Commerce. Electronic Commerce is that trades products, documents customer to company, company to company, or company to government like real commerce. However, there are lots of security problems with Electronic Commerce because of using public network. especially internet. Cryptographic Application Programming Interface supports cryptographic services for each levels and various security services. CSSM API provides modulity, simplicity, and extensibility by various modules, interfaces compare to other CAPIs(Cryptographic Application Programming Interfaces). The proposal is expected that provides various security services to electronic commerce.
글리코 써머얼 법에 의한 나노 산화아연 분말 합성 및 특성

ZnO nanoparticles were prepared under glycothermal condition by precipitation from metal nitrates with aqueou ammonium hydroxide. The nanoparticles were obtained at temperatures between 230 and 250℃. The microstructure and phase of the Synthesized particles were studied by SEM(FE-SEM) and XRD. The properties of the ZnO powder were studied as a function of various processing parameters such as reaction temperature, reaction time and solute concentration. The average particle sizes of the ZnO increased with increasing reaction temperature. The average sizes of the systhesized ZnO nanoparticles which prepared at 230℃ for 4 h were about 20-30 nm.

We studied the relationship between a civil affair occurrence of bad smell and meteorological conditions around Seongseo district for recent 2 years. The results were as follows; (1) The civil affair occurrence days of bad smell were concentrated from May to August. (2) Daily mean temperatures were mostly 20~28℃ and daily mean relative humidities were 60~80%. (3) Wind speeds were mostly less than 2m/s(75%). and wind directions were southerly winds(50%). It was hardly occurred for relatively well-ventilated conditions in cases of wind speeds 2m/s over. And the Lagrangian particle dispersion model were used to figure out the transport route in a civil affairoccurrence days of bad smell. It was found that the south-western winds transported the bad smelling materials from Jungni-dong(the place of source) to the housing complex located along a piedmont district.

The purpose of this study is to examine empirically the relationship between firm size and R&D activity. The samples consist of 73 korean manufacturing firms listed on the Korea Stock Exchange on march 1997. The dependent variables are R&D expenditures, R&D to sales, the number of Korea invention patents issued. Independent variables include two measures of firm size(firm sales), sales growth. Correlation analysis and multiple regression(linear regression and nonlinear regression)analysis were performed to test the relationship between R&D investment and firm size, and that between patents and firm size, linear and nonlinear quadratic regression methods were performed. The results show a tendency that firm size relate to R&D activity. The conclusion of this study is as follows: (1)Inventive outputs(R&D expenditure and patents) increase with firm sales, but decrease at a peak point.(2)Inventive outputs appear not to be systematically related to variations in sales growth.

We numerically investigate stable propagation regimes of 10 ㎓ train of optical solitons with 17.6 ps widths to determine the acceptable variations of periodic amplifier gain(△G), dispersion(△D), and initial chirp(C), as a function of the amplification period LP. We fine that, when LP = 25 km, the acceptable variations are △G = ±4%, △D= ±12%, and C= -0.36 ∼ 0.39. The variations decrease as the amplification period LP increases.

<P>In this paper, we fabricated In<SUB>0.53</SUB>Ga<SUB>0.47</SUB>As-on insulator (OI) MOSFETs on Si substrates with different doping types to mimic ground plane doping using direct wafer bonding and epitaxial lift-off (ELO) techniques. We investigated the impact of doping types on the ground plane and the backgate biasing, which are important and preferable components in monolithic 3-D (M3D) integration, on the electrical properties of MOSFETs, such as the threshold voltage ( <TEX>${V} _{T}$</TEX>) and the effective mobility ( <TEX>$\mu _{\textsf {eff}}$</TEX>). It was found that <TEX>${V} _{T}$</TEX> and <TEX>$\mu _{\textsf {eff}}$</TEX> were significantly modulated by the backsubstrate doping and the backbiasing. These observations were explained by the change of carrier distributions, which were confirmed by technology computer-aided design simulation. Furthermore, we investigated the reusability of InP donor substrates for sequential epitaxial growth after ELO process toward a cost-effective M3D integration with the In<SUB>0.53</SUB>Ga<SUB>0.47</SUB>As channel.</P>
