The purpose of this study was to determine the changes in body composition, cardiopulmonary function, and flexibility following 8 weeks' bicycle ergometer exercise training. The subjects of this research consisted of healthy adult women between 30 and 40 years of age. Initial intensity of bicycle ergometer exercise was based on the target heart rate equivalent to 55% of maximal oxygen uptake, and intensity of the exercise increased by 5% every 2 weeks. Body composition, cardiopulmonary function at rest and during maximal exercise, as well as flexibility were determined before and after 8 weeks of bicycle ergometer exercise training. Masimal exercise was performed on the treadmill according to Bruce Protocol. The results obtained were as follows; 1. There were o changes in body weight, percent body fat, fat body weight, and lean body weight as well. The ventilation volume for 1 minute, respiratory quotient and expired CO₂ volume have not changed significantly after the training, either. 2. As a result of training, resting systolic and diastolic blood pressure decreased significantly(p<.05) 3. Maximal heart rate, maximal oxygen consumption and maximal running time increased significantly after the training(p<.05) 4. Pelvic flexibility increased slightly after the training, however, it did not reach the statistical significance. Trunk flexion forward increased significantly after the training(p<.05). From these results, it may be concluded that 8 weeks bicycle ergometr training improve the cardiopulmonary function and flexibility in healthy adult women between 30-40 years of age.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify nurses' duties and tasks for job analysis of the nurses in the operating room. Methods: This study was descriptive investigation research using the 3-point likert scale questionnaires and the level of importance, difficulty and the frequency of each duty and task were analyzed. Data were collected by 422 OR nurses from 57 hospitals. Results: Job of OR nurses included 13 duties and 105 tasks. The 13 duties were ‘management of operative patient’, ‘assistive work for operation’, ‘supportive work for operation’, ‘infection control in OR’, ‘management of equipments and instruments for operation’, ‘administrating medicine for operation’, ‘supplies management for operation’, ‘safety management for operation’, ‘environmental management for operating room’, ‘administrative work for operation’, ‘education for operating room personnel’, ‘development of operation procedure books’ and ‘self development of OR personnel’. Conclusion: This study identified duties and tasks performed by OR nurses. Based on these results, the importance, frequency, and difficulty in this study will provide research evidence for developing training programs for OR nurses.
한국 폐경여성에서 골밀도와 Osteoprotegerin 유전자 A163G, T950C 다형성 연구

골밀도가 감소하는 질환인 골다공증의 발생에는 여러 가지 다양한 요인들이 관여하는 것으로 지금까지 알려져 왔다. 특히 폐경기 여성에서 골다공증의 발생에는 파골세포에 의한골흡수가 증가하여 발생하는데 Osteoprotegerin(OPG) 유전자가 중요한 역할을 한다. 이에 저자들은 가톨릭대학교 의과대학 성빈센트병원 산부인과 폐경기 크리닉을 방문한 229명의 자연 폐경여성을 대상으로 요추, 대퇴골경부, Ward 삼각주, 되퇴돌기의 골밀도를 측정하여 정상군, 골감소증군과 골다공증군으로 분류하고 골다공증 발생에 있어서 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 알려지 OPG 유전자의 A^(163)G, T^(950)C 다형성을 PCR-RELP 방법을 이용하여 관찰하고, 이러한 유전자형의 다형성이 골밀도와 어떤 연관성이 있는가를 알아보고자 본 연구를 시도 하였다. 저자들의 연구결과에서 대상 폐경기 여성의 A^(163)G, T^(950)C 유전자형 분포 양상은 AA 54.6%, AG 37.1%, GG 8.3%; TT 17.5%, TC 44.1%, CC 38.4%를 보였고, 전체 폐경여성에서 A^(163)G은 요추 부위에서 골밀도와 유의한 상관 관계를 보였다. A163G 유전자형의 다형성은 요추 부위에서는 정상군과 골다공증군, 대퇴골경부와 Ward 삼각주에서는 정상군에서 골밀도와 유의한 상관 관계를 보였다. T^(950)C 유전자형의 다형성은 大퇴골경부에서는 정상군과 골감소증군, Ward 삼각주에서 정상군에서만 골밀도와 유의한 상관 관계를 보였다. 이상의 결과로 한국인 폐경여성에서 OPG 유전자의 다형성은 골밀도 변화에 중요한 역할을 하는 것을 알 수 있었다. Objective: To examine the relationship between Osteoprotegerin gene polymorphisms, and bone mineral density(BMD). Methods: Restriction fragment length polymorphisms at the Osteoprotegerin A163G(promoter), T950C(promoter) gene site, and BMD at the lumbar spine and proximal femur were analyzed in 229 postmenopausal Korean women (81 normal, I I I osteopenic and 37 osteoporotic patients). BMDs were measured by DEXA. Results: The distribution of A163G and T950V polymorphisms in all postmenopausal women was as follows: AA 54.6%, AG 37.1%, GG 8.3%;TT 17.5%, TC 44.1%, CC 38.4%, respectively. After adjusting for potential confounding factors such as age, BMI and menopause duration, A163G polymorphism was significantly associated with BMD at the lumbar spine in all postmenopausal women. A163G polymorphism was significantly associated with BMD at the lumbar spine in normal and osteoporotic patients, and BMD at the femur neck and ward`s triangle in normal patients. T950C polymophism was significantly associated with BMD at the femur neck in normal and osteopenic patients, and BMD at the ward`s triangle in normal patients. Conclusion: These findings suggest that osteoprotegerin gene polymorphisms may be an important contributor to the variation of BMD among postmenopausal Korean women.
