Purpose: To investigate the efficacy and detection rate of disease in the customized eye examination program. Methods: We reviewed the medical charts of 122 patients who have conducted the customized eye examination program from January 2018 to January 2019 in Kim’s Eye Hospital retrospectively. The customized eye examination program consisted of visual acuity test, intraocular pressure measurement, color vision test, slit-lamp examination, visual field tests, fundus photography, spectral domain optical coherence tomography (Cirrus HD-OCT, Zeiss), Optical Quality Analysis System (OQAS, Visiometrics, Terrassa, Spain), and dry eye test (LipiView II TearScience, Morrisville, NC, USA). The rate of newly diagnosed diseases and vision-threatening disorders including glaucoma and retinal disorders were calculated. Results: A total of 122 patients (46 males and 76 females, mean age; 47.8 ± 14.0 years old, from 22 to 85 years) were included. Nine patients (14 eyes) had a poor vision of less than 0.8. Newly detected diseases were found in 17 patients (13.9%), and among them, 10 glaucoma (8.2%) and retinal disorders (5.7%) were included. When it comes to glaucoma, 7 patients were diagnosed with definite glaucoma with visual field loss, and 3 patients had preperimetric glaucoma. Retinal disorders were composed of 5 epiretinal membranes, 1 diabetic retinopathy, and 1 central serous chorioretinopathy. Conclusions: Various diseases were identified by the customized eye examination program, and vision-threatening diseases such as glaucoma and retinal disorders were found. Therefore, a regular eye examination is needed to detect the serious ocular diseases in the early stage.

Melamine-induced nephrotoxicity is closely associated with crystal formation in the kidney caused by combined exposure to melamine (Mel) and cyanuric acid (CA). However, there are few dosage-finding studies for toxicological evaluation of chronic co-exposure to Mel and CA. The objective of this study was to investigate the possible mechanism by which a Mel and CA mixture lead to renal toxicity in rats. Mel and CA were co-administered to rats via oral gavage for 50 days. Nephrotoxicity was determined by measuring blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and serum creatinine (sCr) levels. Relative kidney weights were significantly increased in rats after co-exposure to Mel+CA (63/6.3 or 630/6.3 mg/kg) mixtures. BUN and sCr levels were significantly increased after Mel and CA co-exposure. Taken together, significant increase in KIM-1, NGAL, and calbindin levels were observed in the urine of rats exposed to Mel+CA (63/6.3 or 630/6.3 mg/kg) compared with the corresponding control group. Histological analysis revealed epithelial degeneration and necrotic cell death in the proximal tubules of the kidney after co-exposure to Mel+CA (63/6.3 or 630/6.3 mg/kg). Our data suggest that Mel-mediated renal toxicity may be influenced by CA concentrations in Mel-contaminated milk or foods.

<P>Background: Nephrotoxicity associated with lead poisoning has been frequently reported in epidemiological studies, but the underlying mechanisms have not been fully described.</P><P>Objectives: We examined the role of erythrocytes, one of the major lead reservoirs, in lead-associated nephrotoxicity.</P><P>Methods and results: Co-incubation of lead-exposed human erythrocytes with HK-2 human renal proximal tubular cells resulted in renal tubular cytotoxicity, suggesting a role of erythrocytes in lead-induced nephrotoxicity. Morphological and flow cytometric analyses revealed that HK-2 cells actively phagocytized lead-exposed erythrocytes, which was associated with phosphatidylserine (PS) externalization on the erythrocyte membrane and generation of PS-bearing microvesicles. Increased oxidative stress and up-regulation of nephrotoxic biomarkers, such as NGAL, were observed in HK-2 cells undergoing erythrophagocytosis. Moreover, TGF-β, a marker of fibrosis, was also significantly up-regulated. We examined the significance of erythrophagocytosis in lead-induced nephrotoxicity in rats exposed to lead via drinking water for 12 weeks. We observed iron deposition and generation of oxidative stress in renal tissues of lead-exposed rats, as well as the histopathological alterations such as tubulointerstitial lesions, fibrosis, and up-regulation of KIM-1, NGAL, and TGF-β.</P><P>Conclusions: Our data strongly suggest that erythrophagocytosis and subsequent iron deposition in renal tubular cells could significantly enhance nephrotoxicity following lead exposure, providing insight on lead-associated kidney damages.</P><P>Citation: Kwon SY, Bae ON, Noh JY, Kim K, Kang S, Shin YJ, Lim KM, Chung JH. 2015. 본 논문에서는 복합프로그래밍 지원 환경에서 필요한 점진적 코드생성에 관한 연구를 하였다. 점진적 코드생성은 프로그램의 수정후 불 일치한 트리가 발생되었을 때 최소한의 트리를 방문하여 항상 수행 가능한 프로그램 상태를 유지할 수 있게 해준다. 또한 대상 언어에 대한 구문을 미리 인식하고 있어 구문 오류가 발생될 때 마다 즉각 수정이 가능하며, 정적 의미 분석은 context-free 또는 context-sensitive에 대한 오류를 방지할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 점지누적 애트리뷰트 평가 알고리즘을 사용하여, 추상구문 트리에 p-code를 첨가하여 점진적 코드생성을 실험하였다. This paper is a study concerned with incremental code-generation which is in need of state which supports integrate programming environments. When after modification of the program the inconsistent tree is found, the incremental code-generator moves minimal tree and then makes the state of program capable of execution and keep it. The incremental code-generation recognized already the syntax of language. When the syntax errors occur, the program can modify immediately. Syntatic analysis can protect against context-free and context-sensitive errors. This paper uses incremental attribute evaluation algorithms and then research into incremental code-generation with abstract syntax tree adding p-code.

These experiments were conducted to investigate the anti-inflammatory, analgesic and anti-bacterial activity of Hwanhonsan(HHS) water ext. and 20% EtOH ext. The results were summarized as follows ; The inhibitory effect on the leakage of evans blue into peritoneal cavity was significantly increased by HHS water ext. and EtOH ext, respectively. The paper disk granuloma formation displayed more potent effcet than the control group in EtOH ext. Mouse paw edema induced by histamine was significantly decreased by HHS water ext. and EtOH ext. HHS water ext. and EtOH ext. inhibited the protein exudation in rats. The analgesic activity on 0.7% acetic acid induced writhing syndrome was significantly shown by EtOH ext. Anti-bacterial activity was shown by HHS water ext. and EtOH ext., respectively.

This study was conducted to investigate the effect of added silkpeptide powder on the quality (nutrient content and sensory evaluation score) of the rice Dasik, Rice Dasik was prepared with 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4% concentration of silkpeptide powder. The sensory evaluation scores for the group of the rice Dasik with 2% silkpeptide powder were found to be significantly higher than those of other groups. Increasing silkpeptide powder led to the significant increase in the contents of crude protein and crude ash. But there were no significant differences in contents of crude fat and moisture. And the contents of Ca, K and Mg of silkpeptide powder groups were higher than those of the silkpeptide powder free group.
