군산부근 조간대 및 조하대역에서의 식물플랑크톤과 Bacterioplankton

Quantitative species distribution and primary productivity of phytoplankton were studied monthly from August, 1987 to July, 1988 along with the quantitative distribution of total heterotrophic bacterioplankton and three groups of physiologically chracteristic bacterioplankton in the intertidal and subtidal waters off Kum River Estuary, Yellow Sea. A total of 121 phytoplankton taxa including 102 diatoms occurred, and cell concentration ranged from 15 to 5451 (cells/ml). The great spatio-temporal variations of the number of phytoplankton species and cell concentration well reflected the environmental differences between the intertidal and subtidal waters. Primary productivity (in Piopt, mgC/$m^3$/hr) ranged from 0.6 to 27.3. Just after the phytoplankton bloom (March) Piopt was very low in April at station 1, where amylolytic bacterioplankton also showed quite low population density. The peaks of primary productivity were not always coincided with those of phytoplankton standing crop. The ratio of Piopt's between samples well indicated the environmental differences between the intertidal and subtidal waters. Little characteristic trend was found in the scatter diagrams of phytoplankton standing crop along the population densities of total heterotrophic bacterioplankton and the three groups of physiologically characteristic bacterioplankton. In summer the phytoplankton standing crop was minimum in contrast with the high population density of bacterioplankton, which implies the influx of much allochthonous orgainc matter from Kum River. The scatter diagrams of Piopt along bacterioplankton population density revealed some phenomena there. Piopt had highly positive correlation with the population density of amylolytie bacterioplankton($R^2$=0.84) and that of lipolytic bacterioplankton($R^2$=0.70) while total heterotrophic bacterioplankton and proteolytic bacterioplankton had lesser correlations with Piopt. From the regression lines the increase of unit Piopt (mgC/$m^3$/hr) in the study area was calculated to mean the increase of $9.0{\times}10$ cells/ml and $8.0{\times}10$ cells/ml of amylolytic bacterioplankton and lipolytic bacterioplankton, respectively.

Seawater temperature, salinity, inorganic nutrients and the standing crop of phytoplankton species of the 841 water samples from the upper 125 m at 15-40 stations on the 6 semiannual cruises in the southwestern waters of the East Sea (Korea) were studied during the period from September, 1981 to October, 1984, Among the 235 taxa identified two pennate diatioms, cylindrotheca closterium and Nitzschia delicatissima, were the most common and dominant species. The multiple regression analyses between net phytoplankton abundance (dependent variable) and associated environmental factors(independent variables) were applied to the samples from the surface mixed-layer. In spring the coefficients for the seawater temperature was 1. to 4.2 times greater than those for salinity, while the coefficients for the salinity was 2.1 to 3.4 times greater than those for seawater temperature in autumn. Distribution seawater temperature in spring, and salinity in autumn. Schematically the zone of high standing crops moved about on the T-S diagram in a cyclic manner. The distribution of phytoplankton standing crop was quite closely associated with the hydrographic conditions among various kinds of environmental factors studied.

In this research, 4-stage intermittently aerated activated sludge system was investigated for simultaneous nitrogen and phosphorus removal with swine wastewater. COD_(Cr), TKN and Po₄³-P concentration of swine wastewater were 3151, 192 and 25.2㎎/L, respectively. Operational conditions were SRT 20day, HRT 24hr and aeration/ nonaeration time lhr/lhr, respectively. Organic matter in influent was devided into total, filterable, readily biodegradable and soluble inert organic. Portion of particulate, readily biodegradable and soluble inert organic to the influent organic were 65.6, 24.4 and 5.4%. The effluent TSS and COD concentrations has been consitently below 30㎎/L and 200㎎/L. In first reactor, release-uptake of PO₄³-P was observed very well but in third and fourth reactor, PO₄³-P concentration showed almost no change at below 0.1㎎/L. Nitrification and denitrification were observed to progress almost completely. COD_(Cr), T-N and PO₄³-P removal efficiency were 93.8, 88,6 and 95%, respectively.

Background: Sevoflurane, a rotatively new inhalational anesthetic. has non-pungent odor and is less reluctant to pediatric patients. The purpose of this study is to examine the feasibility of sevoflurane in inhalational sedation instead of the nitrous oxide for short and simple dental treatments in pediatric patients. Patients and Methods: Fifteen healthy children, whose dental treatment was abandoned due to their little or no cooperation, were selected with their caregivers' written permission. Deep sedation was induced and maintained with oxygen and 1-5% sevoflufane via specially designed nasal mask. Blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation, and electrocardiogram were monitored at 3-nin interval. A dental anesthesiologist, who was independent of dental treatments, was wholly responsible for the sedation procedure. Post-sedation complications and operator's and caregiver's acceptability of this type of inhalational sedation were also investigated. Results: The systolic and diastolic blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen saturation was significantly depressed during the deep sedation using sevoflurane (P < 0.05). No severe post-sedation complications were found, however, bradycardia was reported in 3 patients. Almost all the operators and caregivers answered that they would adapt this sedation procedure again if possible. Conclusion: In this study, inhalational deep sedation using sevoflurane for dental treatments was found to be very useful. Furthermore, the application of sevoflurane to conscious sedation for pediatric and adult dental patients should be added.

BOLD T2*-weighted MR images reflects cortical blood flow and oxygenation alterations. fMRI study relies on the detection of localized changes in BOLD signal intensity. Since fMRI measures the very small modulations in BOLD signal intensity that occur during changes in brain activity, it is also very sensitive to small signal intensity variations caused by physiologic noise during the scan. Due to the complexity of movement of various organs associated with heart beat, it is important to reduce cardiac related noise rather than other physiological noise which could be required with relatively simple method. Therefore, a number of methods have been developed for the estimation and reduction of cardiac noise in fMRI study. But, each method has limitation. In this study, we proposed a new estimation method for brain activities influenced by blood pulsation effect using regression analysis with blood pulsation signal and the correspond slice of fMRI. We could find out that the right anterior cingulate cortex and right olfactory cortex and left olfactory cortex were largely influenced by blood pulsation effect for new method. These observed areas are mostly on the structure of anterior cerebral artery in the brain. That is convinced with that our method would be valid and our new method is easier to apply in practice and reduce computational burden than the retrospective method.

백두산은 2002년 이후 화산활동 재개 가능성에 대해 주목받고 있는 화산으로서, 지리적으로는 중국과 북한령에 해당하나 실제 화산분화가 이루어질 경우 우리나라는 물론 아시아 지역의 여러 국가에 피해가 있을 것으로 예측되고 있다. 그러나 국내에는 화산 전문가가 부족한 실정이며, 국제적인 활동 및 국제적 네트워크 구축 또한 미비한 상황이지만, 화산재해에 관련된 자료를 확보하여, 백두산이 분화했을 때 국내뿐만 아니라 국제적 공동 대응에 필요한 인접 국가 및 주요 화산중심국들과의 국제협력 체계가 구축되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 화산재해 국제전문가 참여연구 기반, 국제전문가들이 이용할 수 있는 온라인 네트워크 시스템, 화산재해 국제전문가 네트워크 등의 구축을 위해 참여 연구방안을 수립하고 국제 전문가 참여 연구체계를 구축한다. 본 연구의 기대효과로는 선진 화산재해 대응 기술을 조기 도입할 수 있게 되며, 화산재해 대응기술 분야의 국제적 협력 능력을 높이게 되고, 온라인 네트워크를 통한 해당 분야의 국제 전문가 네트워크를 확보할 수 있다.
