        ISDN, as the infrastructure for the economic development, is a high-tech digital network for various types of information communication services such as telephone for voice, HiTEL for data, and facsimile for image. This article reviews the relationship between information network and information communication services, the determinant factors for ISDN demand, and demand forecasting model. And ISDN demands in Pusan Area for 1993 to 2006 are forecasted. The major results of ISDN demand forecasting in this article are as follows : 1) The demand of ISDN telephone as a voice communication, will be 5.3kl(thousand lines) in 1996, 315.8kl in 2001, and 1,684kl in 2006. And the leased line will be 1.5kl in 1996, 10kl in 2001, and 43.5kl in 2006. 2) The demand of HiTEL and DNS value added service as a data communication, will be 3.48kl in 1996, 82.7kl in 2001, and 662kl in 2006. And the demand of facsimile, as an image communication will be 0.64kl in 2001, and 14.5kl in 2006. 3) Total ISDN demand will be 10.33kl in 1996, 409.1kl in 2001, and 2402kl in 2006. These results have some limitations. First, the data used in this estimation are not consistent, and some parameters referred from foreign used cases are not approved with real survey. Second, the forecasted demand covers only current information communication services, and it does not cover high-tech services such as intelligent service, personal service, and so on. The ISDN demand of these high-tech services are expected so negligible that it can not effect much on total ISDN demand during the studying period, because those services are on the developing step now. Therefore, the results of ISDN demand forecasting are supposed to help the investment planning of ISDN construction and the regional economic development planning of Pusan Area.

        Prevalence of high-risk human papillomavirus and its genotype distribution in head and neck squamous cell carcinomas

        Background: High-risk (HR) human papillomavirus (HPV) is found in a subset of head and neck (HN) squamous cell carcinomas (SCCs). For oropharyngeal SCCs, HR HPV positivity is known to be associated with good prognosis, and a separate staging system for HPV-associated carcinomas using p16 immunohistochemistry (IHC) as a surrogate test has been adopted in the 8th American Joint Committee on Cancer staging system. We examined the HR HPV status and the genotype distribution in five HN subsites. Methods: Formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections were used for p16 IHC and DNA extraction. HPV DNA detection and genotyping were done employing either a DNA chip-based or real-time polymerase chain reaction–based method. Results: During 2011–2019, a total of 466 SCCs were tested for HPV DNA with 34.1% positivity for HR HPV. Among HN subsites, the oropharynx showed the highest HR HPV prevalence (149/205, 75.1%), followed by the sinonasal tract (3/14, 21.4%), larynx (5/43, 11.6%), hypopharynx (1/38, 2.6%), and oral cavity (1/166, 0.6%). The most common HPV genotype was HPV16 (84.3%) followed by HPV35 (6.9%) and HPV33 (4.4%). Compared with HR HPV status, the sensitivity and specificity of p16 IHC were 98.6% and 94.3% for the oropharynx, and 99.2% and 93.8% for the tonsil, respectively. Conclusions: Using a Korean dataset, we confirmed that HR HPV is most frequently detected in oropharyngeal SCCs. p16 positivity showed a good concordance with HR HPV DNA for oropharyngeal and especially tonsillar carcinomas. The use of p16 IHC may further be extended to predict HR HPV positivity in sinonasal tract SCCs.

        Congenital Peribronchial Myofibroblastic Tumor: A Case Study and Literature Review

        Congenital peribronchial myofibroblastic tumor (CPMT) is a benign pulmonary spindle cell neoplasm of intrauterine and perinatal period, which is thought to arise from primitive peribronchial mesenchyme. We present a case detected incidentally in a one-month-old infant. The solid and partially necrotic tumor involved the right middle and lower lobes of the lung with extension to the diaphragm. Histologically, the tumor was composed of fasciculated monotonous spindle cells, proliferating peribronchiolar cartilage and round cells with rich vasculature, and high mitotic activity was identified in the round cell area. Immunohistochemical and electron microscopic studies showed that the spindle cells were myofibroblastic in phenotype. Although the tumor showed several malignant pathological features, recurrence was not observed in the two-year follow-up period, consistent with the benign clinical behavior of CPMT.

        아파트 단지 인공지반의 계획적 평가에 관한 연구

        Landscaping on artificial ground is currently served as a means to imposing a greenery benefit on high-density and high-rise apartment sites. It functions as a sub-hierarchy in apartment planning such as ornamental element from the past. Major parking space tends to be allocated on the basement area in response to the required parking regulation. Therefore, competitive relatioinship between the parking and greenery space I limited outdoor of apartments leads to the development planning strategy and technology of artificial ground. This study aims at evaluating landscape planning on artificial ground of apartment complex through several approaches such as site survey, plan drawing analysis, and interview with related field experts. 15 survey apartment sites including Bundang Model, Shindaebang-dong, Pyoungchon Hyundai Apartments have been selected for conducting the research. Main results of this study are summarized below : First, scattering allocation of artificial ground between apartment building units is a dominant plan layout type among the survey sites. Even though unifying allocation type has an advantage to maximize underground parking space, it has a difficulty in maintaining proper soil ground base for nurturing plants. Therefore, underground parking space should be planned by unifying allocation type placed separately from apartment units. This plan type can provide a balanced planting between soil and artificial ground on surface level. Second, It is strongly recommended to integrate the whole planting base which involves architectural structure, drainage, and water proofing above the planting design. When considering that process as a professional subject dealing with natural material such as trees and shrubs, those tasks should be directed by landscape architectural divison and landscape architect. And planting area for artificial ground has to be specified in initial phase of architectural design. This step provides an opportunity to make a proper decision on structural load, drainage, and water proof design as an integrated part of the management.

        늑간신경의 신경집종에 의한 늑간신경통 - 증례 보고 -

        Intercostal neuralgia is neuropathic pain that develops in the thorax and abdomen. It usually occurs as a result of injury or inflammation associated with the intercostal nerve triggered by trauma, surgery, or herpes zoster. Primary intercostal neuroma is a rare cause of intercostal neuralgia. A 69-year-old male patient without a history of thoracic trauma or surgery underwent repeated testing and intermittent treatment for refractory pain in the right chest and abdomen for several years. However, the treatment had limited effect. Abdominal computed tomography performed to diagnose recent pain aggravation revealed schwannoma of the 11th intercostal nerve. The patient’s pain was relieved following surgical excision of the tumor.

        In this paper, we report our experiences in developing a system environment to execute native executables in mobile devices. Our system includes loader and dynamic linker for ELF executables. It provides multithread APIs for Java applications as well. Our system is a crucial component of a WIPI runtime engine. No opensource WIPI platforms are currently available to researchers, since already existing platforms are all developed by industries. Sharing our experiences, we expect our work to contribute to the production of advanced results in this area. 본 논문에서는 WIPI 런타임 엔진을 구성하는 필수 요소인 응용프로그램 로더 및 동적 링커, 멀티쓰레드 모듈 개발에 참가한 연구진의 경험을 소개한다. 무선 응용 서비스의 표준으로 채택된 WIPI 환경은 C 언어 또는 자바 언어로 작성된 응용프로그램을 외부에서 네이티브 코드로 컴파일한 후 이동 단말기로 전송하여 수행하는 방식을 제안하고 있지만, 휴대폰과 같은 제한된 이동 단말기에서 WIPI 런타임 엔진을 구현하는데 도움이 될 만한 자료는 거의 공개되어 있지 않다. 본 연구가 비슷한 환경에서 WIPI 런타임 엔진을 개발하려는 연구자들에게 중요한 참고자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
